How to connect pvc sewer pipes to each other. Connection of sewer plastic pipes. Video - connection diagram of a sewer pipe through a socket

The sewer is necessary element in every residential building. Its planning usually goes on at the design stage of the building. A private house- this is a unique building, which means that everyone decides when the structure will be erected. It is not always necessary to invite masters, a number of works can be done independently.

IN big houses there is always a bathroom and several bathrooms. In this situation, it is necessary to organize more than one septic tank. You can create exit conditions Wastewater into the central sewer. But then you have to pay an impressive amount. The pipes are the basis, so you have to figure out how to fix them. This is what will be discussed in the article.

Internal construction

How to connect This is the main question, because the correct operation of the entire system depends on it. When creating a scheme, the sewer needs of the dwelling are taken as the basis. If there are several floors, all pipes are located in one location. The fact is that it is more convenient for subsequent installation. Do not use the same projects for different houses.

It should be understood that it is more convenient to work with pipes made of the same material, otherwise it may be difficult to install and further exploitation. How to connect sewer pipes? The first step is to create a schema. This is not difficult, you can do it yourself. As a result, the pipes will lay correctly and the wastewater will leave without congestion.

Next, the required material is calculated - pipes, and it is also worth deciding what they will be made of. The whole system has many elements that must be connected to the riser and to each other. Things to consider:

  • Where will the pipe go?
  • Where will the stand be located?
  • What are the plumbing fixtures?

Distances, fixing elements, all the nuances are described in detail in the diagram. All this is done at the planning stage, otherwise it will be difficult to choose the right direction. Pipes can have different diameters, which is important to consider in advance.

What you should know

  • Usually a pipe with a diameter of 10 cm or more comes out of the bathroom. The same one is chosen for the riser.
  • In the bathroom, the diameter of the pipe can be reduced to 5 cm.
  • Any turns in the sewer are performed at an angle. A position of 45 degrees is quite suitable; in another situation, blockages cannot be avoided.

Material selection

Before you connect the sewer pipes, you will need to seriously approach the choice of material. Most often, attention is paid to cast-iron pipes or those made of PVC. There are also polypropylene. The cast iron version is the most reliable and durable. Although craftsmen prefer PVC, because it is easy to work with them and the price is low. Non-cast-iron models are always placed inside the house; they are more suitable for outdoor work. But it is cast iron that has good performance characteristics and does not require an immediate change.

Operating methods

In any construction work there is a conditional division, according to which it becomes clear what to choose, as well as how the system will work. The sewer system is mixed and separate. For a private building, the first option is preferred. Before connecting sewer pipes, it is always worth deciding what exactly will be installed.

There is also another classification according to the process of eliminating wastewater. It can be pressure and gravity systems. The first option requires additional financial investments, and therefore is not so popular. The second type is the most common, so many people prefer to use gravity sewers.

Installation

It will be difficult to cope alone, it is better to find a partner for yourself, it will be faster and better. Polypropylene pipes with a diameter of 5 and 10 centimeters are taken. What you need to have on hand:

  • Pipes.
  • Revisions.
  • Adapters in the form of tees and elbows.
  • Clamps for secure fixation of the main structure.
  • Sleeves.
  • adhesive composition.
  • Rubber cuffs.

The use of a sleeve is mandatory. It is used in areas where the pipe will pass through walls or partitions. A cuff is fixed at the joints, carefully isolated with adhesive composition. So that the masses move quickly through the pipes and there are no blockages, they make a slight slope.

What does this indicator depend on? As practice shows, a slope of 2% is enough, but this number varies depending on the selected diameter of the main structure. It is these conditions that allow you to create a reliable sewer system. Do not decrease or add percentage. It will be possible to securely fix the pipes only with the help of seals and adhesive mass.

How to connect This question is the most difficult, because to work with plastic elements easier, you don't need additional equipment. Before you properly connect the sewer pipes to each other, working with polypropylene, you need to have a special soldering device on hand. And you will have to make holes in the walls with a puncher.

The starting point is the outlet area where the inner and outer pipes meet. By starting in this way, violations can be avoided. An exit hole is made in the foundation. If the temperature drops to -15 degrees in the region, it is worth insulating, otherwise the whole system will not work in frost. Having made an entrance, they take a sleeve, which should be more hole by 30 centimeters. A slope of 2% is performed, after which the element goes to the pit itself. It is important that the outlet is identical in diameter to the riser.

A suitable option for a riser is a bathroom, because the wastewater outlet will small size. But the choice of distance to the riser depends on the diameter of the outgoing pipe. The larger it is, the closer the location.

Further, the procedure for laying the entire system will depend on the desire of the owner - outside, in boxes, in the wall. All other branches are connected to the riser using a tee. Water seals help fight odors. Revision allows, therefore, it should appear at any turn, because these are the most problematic areas.

How to connect with plastic? This is the hardest part of the whole design. Often this needs to be done if, for example, polypropylene was laid in the house, and a cast-iron pipe has already gone outside to the septic tank. This is difficult because there is a conflict of different materials. One thing is worth knowing for sure - the diameter cast iron pipe in such a situation should not be less plastic. IN construction stores Tees are available in various materials. On the one hand, it will be necessary to fix the structure using a welding machine, and on the other hand, with a soldering iron.

How to connect a toilet to a sewer pipe? If you purchase an adapter, serious problems will not occur during installation. During the operation of the system, problem situations usually do not arise (meaning a rush, a congestion). The only thing is that it must be carefully sealed. After the entire structure is assembled, be sure to check the structure for leaks by running a simple clean water. How to connect Since it is a simple material and plastic, it is enough to have only a soldering iron.

Outside work

After you have connected the sink and shower to the sewer pipe, you will have to bring everything to the septic tank. You will have to work in the ground under the chosen slope. Before choosing, you should know that the soil load will go to the entire structure, so stiffness is an important indicator. Most often, connecting sewer pipes 110 are chosen (how to connect them, we will consider further). Any mass quickly leaves on them, without creating a congestion. But which septic tank is a priority? Several factors are taken into account here:

  • How many people are in the house.
  • Their needs.
  • Permanent or temporary stay in housing.
  • Water requirement per person.
  • Where is groundwater located?
  • What soil.
  • Climate indicators.

You can make a decision yourself or get the opinion of the master. It is necessary to properly remove the septic tank from the house, garden. After work, they go through several stages:

  • A trench is dug under the pipes, a slope is made and a certain direction to the septic tank is made.
  • A sand cushion is made into the resulting pit.
  • Lay pipeline.
  • All butt points are filled with sealant.
  • The pit is being buried.

Pipe connection selection

During operation, you can choose any connection method. Preferring PVC or polypropylene, it's easy to work, but they make noise. How to connect sewer pipes to each other? You can do it "in the bell". The operation is carried out in several steps:

  • The socket and the smooth end of the pipe are cleaned.
  • Seals must be used.
  • Finally smooth side grease or simple soap is applied, after which there is a connection without a gap.

What's next?

In addition, glue is used for fixing. The use of a welded seam involves the use of a special apparatus. He makes a monolithic base, which has long terms operation, no leaks.

Use of fittings

Another option is to use fittings. They are relevant if the entire sewerage system is small and there are no frequent turns. How to connect a siphon to a sewer pipe? The operation is carried out in the same way. This work cannot proceed without silicone seals. If the pipe bends, then it is additionally fixed, otherwise it will sag, violating the angle of inclination.

When it is necessary to change the sewerage system, cast iron is more often chosen, because it is difficult to use it for the transition modern material. What work is being done? It's good when they have bells. In this case, the assembly is performed like folding a nesting doll. As soon as the smooth part is inserted into the socket, a gap will appear between the elements. To remove it, apply a sealant. Linen tow is suitable for this.

So that the joints do not flow, a cement mortar is used, they are poured into the structure. It is not necessary to use just such a sealing system - there are other compositions. This includes bitumen, mastic, sealants. Installation work will not be difficult.

Important Points

Doing all the work yourself, it is worth considering some important points. What to look for:

  • It is necessary to choose the pipes correctly (determine what material they will be from). It is important to remember that low-quality pipes will quickly fail and leaks will appear.
  • Create a scheme, carefully thinking everything through.
  • Do not dump too much waste into the sewer system.
  • Think over the location of the pipes.

It is better if the whole system is planned at the beginning of construction.

Conclusion

The article discussed how pipes can be connected. As you can see, there are several options. Everyone chooses the best for themselves.

All preparatory work done, connection can be started plastic pipes.

There are two connection methods:

  • Detachable connection.

This method is divided into flange and coupling.

For flange connection, cast iron fasteners with a rubber gasket are used. The edges of the pipe are evenly cut at the junction, then a loose flange is put on, a rubber gasket is inserted, a flange is still applied to it, everything is bolted.

With a socket connection, the ends of the pipe are cut at an angle of 90◦; a coupling is put on (its center must coincide with the pipe joint); marks are made on the pipes corresponding to the position of the coupling; the ends of the pipes and the coupling (from the inside) are treated with a special lubricant; one end of the pipe is inserted into the coupling and pushed onto the second, according to the mark.

Corrugated pipe fittings are also used to connect a non-pressure sewer.

The above methods of connecting plastic pipes are characterized by low price, ease of installation and dismantling of the sewer system, do not require the use of expensive equipment and special tools.

  • Permanent connection.

This method is divided into socket connection, welding connection, adhesive connection, connection with fittings.

Butt welding is carried out with special equipment. A continuous connection is formed due to the heating of the edges of the pipes and their joining.

Electrofusion couplings are also used; the pipe edge and the coupling are heated according to the welding parameters set on the equipment.

Connection on glue (technology of "cold welding") is carried out by means of special glue.

The described methods of installing plastic pipes provide a durable, tight, reliable connection for many years. One drawback can be called - the need to purchase expensive welding equipment.

Note!

No need to buy welding machine for the installation of a small sewer system. In this case, it is better to choose the connection of plastic pipes without welding, using fittings (fittings).

Sewer adapters are special parts for the installation of the pipeline, which make it possible to vary the direction, diameter and materials of the communication system. The presence of sewer adapters greatly simplifies the partial replacement, installation and repair of sewers.

Modern sewer communications in the vast majority of cases are mounted from polymer pipes. Depending on the layout, the sewerage system has a wiring for the building, which is connected to a common drain and brought out.

The pipeline configuration has many straight sections that are interconnected in complex systems with turns, bends, tees, crosses, plugs and revisions.

When assembling the pipeline, sewer adapters from polymer materials. They can be either removable or soldered.

The buildings of the old construction are equipped with sewer pipelines made of cast iron, less often of steel. for repair, partial replacement or tie-in of a separate apartment with plastic sewer it is required to combine pipes made of metal alloys with pipes or fittings made of polymeric materials into one system.

Here, adapters also come to the rescue, which are made with special different ends, and allow you to reliably connect dissimilar communications. Plumbing sewer adapters are designed for:

  • connections of straight sections of the pipeline with different diameters;
  • connection of pipeline sections from different materials (the diameter can be either the same or different from each other);
  • creating the necessary configuration of the sewer section (turns, bypass, wiring).

Note! Before buying sewer adapters, you should know not only the required material and diameter, but also the type of thread - external or internal.

The main properties and types of adapters for pipes made of different materials

To select the necessary adapters, you should know what the plumbing market offers and how they can be used. There are two groups of sewer adapters:

  • concentric - designed for installation on vertical sections of communications;
  • eccentric - installed on a horizontal pipeline.

Installing or replacing a sewer system country house or apartments - a responsible, difficult task. The slightest mistake can cause the service life and reliability of the sewer to be significantly reduced, and its functioning will be defective.

The main task of the sewer system is to remove waste and sewage from the house and transport them to the drain pit. Liquids and solid wastes do not pass through integral pipes, but through a system where there are transitions, corners, connections.

Often, homeowners who have not previously encountered such tasks are taken on to carry out the work. IN this case it is important to study the theoretical basis for the implementation installation work and follow the recommendations of professionals.

With glue

Compound sewer pipes PVC is often glued. There is nothing difficult in gluing pipes together. To work, you need a special adhesive composition.

Pipe connection

The first step is to clean the places where the glue will be applied and treat them with degreasing compounds. In order to qualitatively apply the adhesive to the surface of the sewer pipes, it is recommended to use a special brush. Now we connect both pipes, hold them in this position for several minutes, so that the glue has time to grab them. For reliability, cover the junction with a thick layer of glue.

Note! To ensure the tightness of the connection, it is necessary to apply the adhesive in a thick layer so that the adhesive protrudes and forms a roller around the pipes.

This method is great solution how to connect sewer plastic pipes. Just do not need to try this option for the purpose of joining cast iron or steel products. For metal pipes, there are other connection methods.

Connecting sewer pipes with glue

Welding

A welded joint is used when working with different materials. The main advantage of this method is its reliability, because the seam is very difficult to disconnect. If you do a good job, the sewer system will last without leaks and other problems for a long period.

Each material has its own type of welded joint. In any case, you will have to stock up on a special apparatus, protective clothing, and goggles. The connection of cast iron sewer pipes is carried out by conventional welding. But to decide how to connect plastic sewer pipes, you should use the cold or diffuse welding technique.

Note! Improper handling of the welding machine may cause health problems. So, for example, working without a mask will result in very painful eyes, and when they are closed, sparkling flashes may appear. This can cause insomnia, restlessness, and increased irritability.

Sewer pipe welding

With a clutch

The connection of corrugated sewer pipes is carried out mainly using fittings. This method is justified if not all pipes, but only a few, need to be connected to the system. The connection involves the use of special couplings with an elastic band. The work process consists of several stages.

  1. Before connecting the sewer pipes with a coupling, it is necessary to disassemble the elements.
  2. Now we put a lock nut on the pipe and seal it with a rubber ring.
  3. Next, a sewer pipe is inserted into the fitting of the coupling, a lock nut is clamped.

This method of connecting pipes is the fastest. It will not be difficult to complete the work even for those who have never had to deal with plumbing work. The disadvantage of such a connection is its unreliability. The fact is that during operation, the locknut is gradually released, unscrewed, as a result of which the sewer pipe begins to leak and require repair.

Pipe connection

Steel pipe connection

Steel pipes are also used to carry out the sewer system, but much less often than cast iron and even more so than plastic. Steel is an expensive material. It is reliable, durable, but very afraid of corrosion. It is also difficult to work with it, since the material is heavy, you cannot cope with it yourself.

The connecting elements of sewer pipes are not used when working with steel products. the only in a reliable way connection is welding.

The welding seam is superimposed on the junction of two sewer pipes. To do this job, you will need a welding machine. Suitable for both acid-acetylene and electrical appliance. If large diameter pipes are to be used, for example when installing sewer riser, you need a professional, powerful welding machine, but the pipes small diameter(up to 150 mm) are connected manually.

Steel pipe connection

Note! The connection of steel sewer pipes by welding should be carried out by a professional. If you do not follow the instructions for using the welding machine, you can not only do the job poorly, but also harm your health.

Connection of plastic pipes

Plastic pipes are the most in demand today. The connection of pipes made of polypropylene or polyvinyl chloride has its own characteristics. Probably, plastic pipes are the only material that is used for the installation of a sewer system and can be interconnected in different ways.

In most cases, a socket connection of sewer pipes is used. They can be fastened with additional elements (couplings, fittings, tees). The glue method is also known to craftsmen who have dealt with plastic products. Even welding is used to solve the question of how to properly connect PVC sewer pipes. In the latter case, the work is carried out depending on what kind of plastic was used in the manufacture of pipes.

  • Polypropylene pipes are connected by diffuse welding. First you need to cut the ends of the product, determine the depth at which the pipe is in the coupling, heat up all the elements with a special soldering iron, as a result of which they are tightly connected to each other.
  • If you are interested in how to connect PVC sewer pipes, use cold welding technology. It provides for the use of not only a welding machine, but also a special glue.

Connection of plastic pipes

Connection of cast iron pipes

The main set of works is not much different from the connection of plastic pipes. Here the method "in the bell" is used. During installation cast iron pipeline care must be taken to additionally seal the junction.

Note! When working with plastic products rubber rings were used as a sealant. If the question arose of how to connect cast-iron sewer pipes, one cannot do without a tarred organic fiber cord, which must be placed in the gap between the socket and the pipe.

After the work is done, it is necessary to take care of additional sealing of the joints. For this purpose, special sealing compounds or cement mortar are used.

Today, cast iron products are used less and less. Despite its mechanical strength and resistance to corrosion, the material is becoming less in demand. Perhaps the reason is that cast iron sewer pipes are quite expensive. Another reason for the sharp decline in the popularity of cast iron is its heavy weight, due to which certain difficulties arise during transportation and installation.

Connection of cast iron pipes

Connection of cast iron pipes with plastic

Considering that a few decades ago, cast-iron pipes were mainly used to make sewer systems, and now plastic is popular, owners may have a question about how to connect a cast-iron sewer pipe with a plastic one.

The connection method in the socket or with glue is not suitable here. To do this, use special rubber cuffs, which are available at any building supermarket. Work is performed in the following sequence:

  • cast iron pipe should be thoroughly cleaned and dried;
  • a thick layer of silicone sealant is applied to the inner surface of the cast iron product;
  • now you need to insert a rubber sealing cuff;
  • then we cover with silicone and a plastic pipe, connect it with cast iron.

Note! When performing this work, it is required to strictly adhere to the technology. A minor inaccuracy, which seems like a trifle, can adversely affect the quality of the functioning of the sewer system.

Connection of cast iron pipes with plastic

Fitting material

The quality of not only the pipes themselves, but also shaped ones, that is connecting elements, is important in ensuring the efficient and long-term functioning of the system. They are made from different alloys. It can be cast iron, steel or plastic parts.

  • Shaped products made of cast iron are resistant to corrosion, durable, but they easily break under the influence of mechanical factors due to the content of carbohydrates.
  • Plastic elements are less likely to deform, which can occur during impacts.
  • Steel parts are more ductile than cast iron, but they are not resistant to corrosion.

If the connection of sewer pipes without a socket was made using low-quality fittings, one cannot hope for a durable and reliable functioning of the sewer. Do not be surprised if already in the second year of operation you have to deal with leaks.

Note! The connection of external sewer pipes is recommended to be carried out using plastic or cast iron elements, since steel will fail very quickly due to corrosion, which is formed under the influence of high moisture, low temperatures and earth microorganisms.

Shaped parts

Joint requirement

The weak point of the sewer system is precisely the joints. If the internal pipeline can still be repaired, then when the external sewer pipes leak, you will have to dig many several meters to find trouble spot and troubleshoot. When making joints, you must adhere to certain rules. Do not use low quality cheap materials to make connections, since then you have to pay several times more to repair the sewer.

When installing a sewer system, not only the pipe-pipe connection is important, but also the pipe - plumbing fixture. Connecting the toilet and bath also requires attention. The toilet, for example, can be connected using different technologies depending on which release is implemented in it.

To independently make a high-quality sewer system, you need to read the instructions, tips and recommendations of specialists. All work must be carried out diligently and competently in order to avoid problems during operation. There is nothing complicated about how sewer pipes are connected, if you follow the rules and do not neglect what at first glance seems petty.

Almost everyone sooner or later faces the process of pipe installation. From what material it is made and the method of installation will depend. In this article, we will talk about how to connect sewer pipes - threaded, welded or socketed.

Types of sewer pipes and their connections

If earlier sewer pipes were made only from metal, now on the market you can find not only, as before, cast iron, but also plastic and ceramic.

Ceramic sewer pipes are made with a diameter of 150 to 600 mm and are mainly used during the construction outdoor sewerage. The main advantage is the high resistance of ceramics to the action of aggressive ground water. The use of ceramics in domestic construction is not common. Well, as for the connection of ceramic sewer pipes, it is similar to the connection of metal cast iron.

Most popular today plastic pipes are made from polyethylene of low and high density, polypropylene and polyvinyl chloride. They are easy to install, light in weight, and have high mechanical strength and corrosion resistance. They can be designed for both indoor and outdoor installation. They will differ not only in their diameter, but also in color. For outdoor work they will orange color, and for the inner - gray. They are most commonly used in domestic construction. Of these, plums are constructed both in kitchens and in bathrooms and baths. By the way, sooner or later you will have to deal with a blockage in the sink. And the article on our website will help you figure it out.

Now on the market you can find steel sewer pipes. But they are a rather rare guest in construction, as they have a low degree of corrosion resistance and are exposed to groundwater.

And at the end of the analysis of the type of sewer pipes, traditional cast iron. They have excellent performance mechanical strength and degree of corrosion resistance.

Well, what about how to connect the sewer pipes? The connection can be made by welding or gluing. If you have a desire to make a collapsible sewer system, then you can connect using fittings or using flanges. So, flange connections are used on pipes of large diameters, because it will be inconvenient to connect them with a threaded connection. Below we will analyze which of these connection methods is best suited for cast iron or PVC.

Corners for connecting sewer pipes

During the creation of a home sewer system with my own hands it should be remembered that to ensure its normal operation, they should be laid at a slight slope. The slope must not be less than "0.02". What does it mean? This means that if total length pipeline is 1 meter, then at the ends of the pipe there should be a height difference of 2 cm.

Moreover, if the planned volume of wastewater is not large, then this slope parameter should be increased and be “0.03”.

In general, it is possible to calculate the connection angles on your own using the formula:

Or to make everything easier and use ready-made solutions:

Preparation

Before starting to connect the sewer pipes, certain preparatory work should be performed:

  1. It is worth making sure that you have bought all the necessary and related products and materials and that during installation it does not turn out that there is no special glue or heat-resistant mittens;
  2. Mark the location of communications, prepare the working area and outline for yourself a location plan;
  3. According to the placement plan, proceed to marking the blanks and cutting them. In order to avoid the consumption of excess material, cut the workpieces from larger to smaller sizes;
  4. In order to be able to join the pipes as conveniently as possible, the places of cuts should be cleaned from burrs that have appeared, wiped off possible pollution, as well as carry out degreasing;
  5. If you have to connect metal pipes, then they need to be applied with an internal or external thread.

How to connect metal sewer pipes

You can connect metal sewer pipes using one of these methods - welding and mounting in a socket. Socket installation is usually used when joining cast iron, while welded joints are used when joining steel.

Connection of cast iron pipes

As mentioned earlier, they are connected using sockets. Subsequence similar installation next:

  1. That side of the cast-iron pipe, which is without a socket, must be inserted into the socket already supplied.
  2. The gap between the inner edges of the sockets and the mounted tail side of the pipe should be sealed with linen tow. To do this, with a prepared special wooden spatula, hitting it with a hammer, hammer into the gap of the socket, the wound first layer of tow. During operation, care must be taken to ensure that during filling the gap, the tow does not penetrate inside the pipe, because. this will lead to clogs over time. By the end of the work, 2/3 of the socket cavity should be clogged with tow.
  3. The space that remains after sealing with tow should be filled with a sealant without any impregnation.
  4. The next step will be filling with cement mortar, which is prepared in a ratio of 9 to 1 (9 - cement, 1 - water). The resulting solution must be tamped with diligence in the socket, and then covered with a damp cloth. A wet rag is needed so that cracks do not appear in the cement during drying. Except cement mortar can be applied bituminous mastic, asbestos-cement mixture or silicone sealant.

This method is used to connect cast iron structures with each other, but there are such situations that it is necessary to connect cast iron with plastic. In such situations, special couplings and adapters should be used. They are designed to connect sewer pipes different diameter or made from various materials.

In order to make a high-quality transition from cast iron to plastic, the inner surface of the cast iron socket should be thoroughly cleaned and wiped, and then silicone sealant should be applied to it. After that, the sealant must also be applied directly to the adapter, and then the adapter must be inserted into the socket. This connection will become airtight when the sealant completely hardens.

Steel pipe connection

When to Connect steel structures, then welding is applied. In this case important point will be of good quality and professional performance work taking into account allprocess features. But even if you decide to do everything yourself, having bought a good welding machine and doing all the work correctly, you still end up with a very unreliable design. The thing is that directly steel is not very suitable for sewer needs. In addition, welding seams in comparison with the rest of the surface will be extremely susceptible to corrosion. In other words, just by making a sewer system, you already understand that it has weak sides which will lead to leaks over time.

Naturally, in addition to welded joints for steel, threaded joints can be used. So, for example, an American fitting is the most popular of these connectors. It consists of 2 limit switches connected by a union nut to each other.

Connection of plastic sewer pipes

When you think about how to connect sewer plastic pipes, you can choose one of 3 options: in a socket, for welding or for a threaded sleeve. Each of these methods has its own nuances and will require certain equipment, so let's look at them separately.

Exclusive supplier of plastic sewer pipes different diameter and colors, is the Agpipe group of companies. On the company website https://agpipe.ru presented big choice durable, pressure sewer plastic pipes and fastening systems from European factories.

Coupling connection

Before starting any manipulations, you should choose the type of coupling for the plastic pipe. But here we will make a small digression and say that this docking option can be used only in cases where it has a diameter of no more than 63 mm. If the diameter allows you to use a coupling, then you can become the owner of a completely collapsible sewer system.

The connection procedure itself using a threaded or compression coupling is quite simple. First you need to disassemble the fastener, put a sealing ring and a lock nut on the pipe. Then it should be inserted into the coupling fitting and screw the locknut onto the threads of the coupling end. The locknut will secure the connection.

Threaded socket connection is the fastest connection option plastic structures. sewer system can be used immediately after tightening the locknut. But there are also disadvantages. Yes, over time threaded connection may loosen and the joint may leak.

Connection by welding

Based on the material from which the sewer pipes are made, the cold welding method (gluing method) or diffusion welding can be used. So, cold welding used during the installation of polypropylene, and diffusion - during PVC compounds. Moreover, any of these methods can be used both during installation in the socket, and during fixation with a coupling.

Compound polypropylene pipes welding is carried out as follows:

  1. The end is cut off. The depth to which the pipe enters the coupling is measured. Trimming and marking the depth of entry must be done, because. otherwise, the quality of installation and the reliability of the system will be reduced.
  2. Using a special soldering iron, the pipe and coupling are heated up to 260°C.
  3. After heating, the parts must be removed from the soldering iron and the pipe is pushed into the sleeve to the marked depth.

When using this connection method, the system will be ready for use immediately after the joints have cured.

Sewer connection PVC structures happens according to the following scenario:

  1. The end face is cut in the same way and the pressing depth is marked.
  2. to the outside and inner part couplings are applied with special glue. The pipe is inserted into the sleeve to the marked depth. Then it should be rotated a little around its axis. It should be noted that when choosing an adhesive, it is better to buy the one that is recommended by the manufacturers themselves and the compounds.

Socket connection

The socket connection can only be used if they are to be used in non-pressure networks. In addition, for connection into a socket, there must be special thickenings at the ends.

The socket connection occurs in this way:

  1. The pipe is installed on the supporting surface. The socket must be installed in opposite side with respect to flow.
  2. We install a sealing ring in the socket of the receiving pipe.
  3. After installing the sealing ring, insert the smooth end of the second pipe into the socket.
  4. After mounting the connection, the second pipe should also be fixed.
