Bedroom design in Khrushchev: how to make a beautiful and comfortable interior without big investments. Bedroom design in Khrushchev Design of a small bedroom in Khrushchev photo gallery

The design of a bedroom in Khrushchev is sometimes difficult to fit into modern stylistic concepts. Houses were built according to type sample without any architectural frills. The "boxes" were small, cramped, and designed to accommodate the bare minimum of functionality. The rows of these five-story buildings grew like mushrooms after the rain, and the apartments were designed for temporary use. The era of Khrushchev construction began in the late 50s of the last century and lasted almost 30 years. The houses got their specific name in honor of the then Secretary General Central Committee of the CPSU. Main distinctive features Khrushchev became poor sound and heat insulation. Years passed and what was planned to be used for no more than a dozen years has stood for almost half a century. After the collapse of the USSR, housing prices increased so much that even being the owner of a typical, outdated “box” was considered good luck. Any homeowner in such an outdated house sooner or later decides to redevelop and repair. Let's try to figure out how to equip a small bedroom so that its features do not interfere with joining one of the modern design trends.

Bedroom types

Although the construction was of a typical nature, over 30 years many projects were created, each of which was strikingly different from its predecessors. Work was carried out on the bugs, taking into account the desires of the consumer. Among the so-called series, six of the most popular are distinguished. The bedrooms in them differ in size, layout and location in the apartment relative to other rooms.

According to the layout

According to the layout of the bedroom in Khrushchev, it can be conditionally divided into two types:

  • Correct form. Usually, we are talking about rectangular rooms;
  • Irregular shape. Here there are architectural "sophistications" for every taste. Such bedrooms could be in the form of multifaceted geometric shapes or have niches, the purpose of which has never been fully figured out by anyone (more often they were used for pantries).

Even the owners of rectangular bedrooms have to face difficulties. narrow space difficult to arrange, since all the furniture is usually located along one wall, and the other is left empty so as not to clutter up the passage. As a result, part of the area, which is already sorely lacking, remains unused. As a rule, such elongated bedrooms contain only a functional minimum: a wardrobe, a bed and a couple of bedside tables. Now you can hang a flat-screen TV on the opposite wall, which will not eat extra meters. But more often it is heavily decorated to close the void that will catch the eye. Minimalist style is considered ideal for decorating such a room. As a rule, the area of bedrooms in Khrushchev houses does not exceed 12 sq.m. Compared to spacious studios, these rooms are more like a compact bed. But even they can be ennobled and completely bring out the "spirit" of standardization. Owners of one-room apartments who start redevelopment often allocate even less space for the bedroom (about 8 sq.m). Such tiny rooms are obtained by dividing those very rectangular rooms. It is not possible to "split" them along, so it turns out two rooms square shape. Unfortunately, there is only one window in them and it is not a fact that they will decide to leave it under the rest room. In this case, you will have to competently work on multi-level lighting, which will completely replace the natural one.

To size

By size, there are three types of bedrooms in Khrushchev:

  • 12 sq. m. This room fits a wide bed, two miniature bedside tables and a wardrobe. It is quite difficult to fit a "boudoir" addition - a dressing table with a mirror and an armchair or a pouffe. To do this, you will have to “sacrifice” one of the bedside tables or a closet. The problem disappears if one person sleeps in the room and a narrow bed is enough for him.
  • 8-10 sq. m. In such bedrooms, the requirements for a furniture minimum are even tougher: one bed and a dressing table, a workplace, two bedside tables or narrow cabinet to choose from. Preference is given to the interior object in which there is a great need.
  • 6 sq. m. In such tiny bedrooms, only a double bed and a nightstand will fit. The workplace or dressing table is replaced with a specially designed window sill. Convenient option for such a room there will be a folding sofa, which at night will turn into a bed, and during the day when assembled it will free up more space.

An ergonomic solution would be to place a corner built-in wardrobe. This form will make this piece of furniture inconspicuous. The built-in system up to the ceiling will economically manage the space.

By location

By location, the bedrooms are divided into two types:

  • "Independent" rooms. They are usually located in two- and three-room apartments. Such bedrooms are used only for their intended purpose;
  • Combined options. They are used in apartments that have "survived" a complete redevelopment and demolition of all internal partitions. Thus, a modern studio is obtained from an outdated Khrushchev.

In the latter case, the room is zoned in the following ways:

  • Furniture. Ideally for these purposes, a through rack is suitable;
  • Partitions. Both "monumental" and mobile structures are used;
  • Various finishing materials;
  • Color or light;
  • An impromptu "pedestal" on the floor, on which the bed is erected.

Interior decoration and design

Before proceeding with the repair and decoration of the premises, it is necessary to decide on the style. Each direction is characterized by certain materials. Minimalism, Scandinavian and industrial style look organic in a small bedroom. In some cases, a more “noble” variation of the latter is used - a loft. Minimalism is characterized by the use of expensive, natural materials. Repair in this style will not work on a budget. The decoration is dominated by stone, metal, light or dark wood. color scheme choose from calm, neutral tones: white, black, gray. Scandinavian style uses combinations of blue, green and blue. The simplicity of decoration is offset by a few, but stylish decor. Loft prefers raw surfaces. Wall with bare brickwork became calling card style. Also he uses simple furniture And minimal decor, which allows you to rationally place accents.

Walls

In small bedrooms, walls are usually finished in a practical and simple way:

  • Covered with wallpaper. In this case, it is allowed to use only plain colors with light, inconspicuous patterns (white flowers on pale peach). Vertical stripes, large prints and bright colors are taboo.
  • They paint. The most budget option. It is used if the Khrushchev walls are perfectly smooth and have no visible defects, which is quite rare. plain walls will be a good background for placing the original decor.
  • Combined options. Relevant in cases where the owners want to enliven the situation without weighing it down. The accent wall (above the head of the bed) is usually covered with wallpaper that imitates natural material and paint the rest.

There are a number of types of finishes that are not recommended for use in small bedrooms: drywall, porcelain stoneware, PVC panels, wooden lining, cork coating.

Floor

The following materials are used to finish the floor:

  • Linoleum. Refers to budget options. Lay down roll material You can do it yourself without the involvement of specialists.
  • Carpet. Whimsical in care, as it collects dust.
  • Parquet board. It has an average cost and is suitable only for a specific style decision.
  • Laminate. Some types of material (office) can withstand heavy loads.
  • Porcelain tile. Super strong material. Great combination quality and price.
  • Ceramic tile. It is difficult to fit it into the interior of the bedroom, as the material evokes persistent associations with the kitchen and bathroom.

The color of the flooring is chosen neutral without bright accents. Self-leveling floors are considered expensive options. They adhere well to any substrate, are impact resistant, durable and provide a smooth, even surface. It can be matte or glossy according to the customer's choice.

Ceiling

The following materials are used to decorate the ceiling space:

  • Decorative plaster. It is relatively inexpensive and allows you to simulate any texture of complexity.
  • Dye. outdated but practical option. Once every couple of years, such a coating will have to be changed due to fading and cracking.
  • Ceiling tiles. For the material to last a long time, give preference to the injection or extruded type. The life of the cheapest "stamping" will be no more than 5 years.
  • Plasterboard structures and stretch ceilings. They are rarely used for bedrooms in Khrushchevs, as they eat extra centimeters, which is unacceptable with low ceilings.

Lighting

The selection of lighting in the bedroom is not only visual expansion space, but also the creation of warmth and comfort. Light sources other than local ( functional areas) should be provided at different levels. Since the height of the rooms is small, in ceiling lighting it is necessary to give preference to a bush lamp (an analogue of a flat chandelier). Visually "stretch" the room will help sconces on the walls, which will shine vertically. For relaxation, yellow and warm spectrum is better suited. The location of the sources should be provided in such a way as to “win” the style of decorating the room (wallpaper pattern, decorative elements, stucco, etc.). original solution directional warm light ceiling lights located above the window are considered. The use of floor lamps in a small room is not recommended, so as not to hide extra space. They will be completely replaced by a sconce or a lamp on the bedside table. Depending on the lifestyle of the owners, you can also install the lower (night) row of floor or bed lighting using LEDs. In a room with no window, it is worth placing an overhead light with adjustable intensity, as it will be the main source of light and in daytime.

Furniture and decor elements

Before choosing room furniture, it is necessary to correlate your needs with the possibilities of the room. Naturally, the bed, bedside tables and wardrobe should match the chosen style. When choosing a situation, they are guided by its dimensions and external design. In minimalism, objects with straight lines and sharp corners are used. Their color scheme is relatively "poor" in neutral tones. The loft does not recognize clear restrictions either in forms or in colors. The main thing is that the furniture is in harmony with the decoration of the room. The Scandinavian style prefers light wood and textiles in white and blue tones.

Bed

In rooms larger than 9 square meters, it is quite easy to fit a double bed. In the standard layout, a place is left under it against one of the walls and a bed is placed in such a way that there is a wide passage. A real gift for owners - correct form premises. With the arrangement of furniture in a rectangular or square room there are no problems. For premises non-standard forms they select a special setting, sometimes even to order, so that not a single centimeter falls into the “useless” zone and is not lost. Bedrooms less than 9 sq. m a spacious bed is difficult to fit. If the room is designed for a child or teenager, then even two households will fit on a bunk bed, which will take up a minimum of space and save space. Unfortunately, such a practical option is only suitable for children's rooms and is completely unsuitable for a couple who do not want to huddle in separate sleeping places. In this case, you should think about multifunctional furniture. Folding sofa will save the situation.

Round beds fit into small rooms, their cut corners free up space. If the bed is also white, then this option will add "airiness" to the bedroom.

Cabinets

The relatively spacious bedrooms have large wardrobes or built-in wardrobes. An economical option would be corner furniture, which looks beautiful, and does not interfere. For small rooms use open systems storage. In their role, racks or a row most often act. wall shelves. The main advantage of this method of organization is their ability to "unload" the space. Of course, it will not work to fit the entire wardrobe on such shelves, but they will become an addition to the main wardrobe, which is placed in the living room.

Cabinets and chests of drawers

In tiny bedrooms, these interior objects become a luxury. It is almost impossible to allocate a place for them, which is fraught with inconvenience, since there is simply nowhere to hide “small things”. The window sill is re-arranged under the countertop, and under it they organize a narrow area for storing combs and cosmetics, which will replace the chest of drawers. In more spacious rooms refuse symmetry and install only one bedside table. The vacated space, which was intended for the second, is used to accommodate a wide chest of drawers with a mirror and a soft pouffe. By the way, the symmetrical placement of furniture is used only in classic styles. The three modern trends that are chosen for bedrooms in Khrushchev are calm about unpaired elements in the design of the room.

The times when apartments were handed out for free are irrevocably gone. And not so long ago, when the country began to recover after the war, in the era of large-panel housing construction, starting from 1955, they tried to provide housing, if not all, then many. Of course, these apartments, which are casually called "Khrushchev" in the common people, are far from perfect: too thin and uneven walls, low ceilings, uncomfortable layout, sound and heat insulation are not up to standard. But on the other hand, they built quickly, and the Khrushchevs completed their task in full.

In just 9 years, a quarter of the country's population was provided with housing. And until now, Khrushchevs make up a significant part of the housing stock. They give way to new houses only in the central districts of the capital and other large cities, while in the provinces Khrushchevs will stand for a long time. Their resource, previously 50 years, was revised and increased to 150 years, subject to major repairs. So it certainly makes sense to think over the design of the Khrushchev and make major repairs in it.

Yes, in Soviet time and they were happy with such apartments: let it be housing, where there is only 1 room, and even that one is small, but it’s their own. Living space norms were calculated not for reasons of comfort, but taking into account only the necessary minimum for human physiology. Now, when the needs have changed, the owners of Khrushchev want to somehow transform their housing in order to achieve comfort and functionality.

Khrushchev design options are actually not so few, especially if they involve redevelopment, for example, dividing one uncomfortable room into 2 rooms that perform different tasks, or expanding narrow and small rooms due to walk-through zones. Some options are more successful, some are less, but one thing is for sure, even an apartment of such a small area with low ceilings can become modern housing.

redevelopment

Perhaps, interesting design in Khrushchev can be created only if competent redevelopment is carried out. Apartments are no different. large area, but they significant disadvantage also in the fact that the rooms are often narrow, uncomfortable, with a walk-through zone, non-functional corridors. This problem can be eradicated only by resorting to redevelopment.

Khrushchev houses were built according to the designs of several standard series. They differ quite slightly from each other, but they have one thing in common - a small area:

  • One-room apartments - 29–33 m 2,
  • Two-room apartments - 30–46 m 2,
  • Three-room apartments - 55–58 m 2.

When drawing up a redevelopment project, it will be necessary to solve a number of problems. One of the problems will be related to the legitimization of redevelopment, since not every design "flight of fancy" can be implemented legally. First you need to get permission to redevelop.

The first difficulty may arise with the definition of load-bearing walls. Fortunately, in almost all Khrushchev apartments, the intra-apartment partitions do not perform a supporting function, but only divide the space of the apartment into rooms, so they can be easily demolished, making major repairs. However, there are exceptions, in panel Khrushchevs you can also find load-bearing walls inside the apartment. Just in case, it must be said about how to determine the load-bearing wall in the apartment:

  • According to the plan of the apartment. You can get this kind of document at the BTI. You will be provided with a standard plan of the apartment with the designation of load-bearing walls and partitions.
  • Visually:
    • The load-bearing wall will be thicker than the partition. In Khrushchev, the thickness of the bearing wall will be at least 12 cm without finishing.
    • Interfloor floors will always rest on load-bearing walls.

If the wall is still load-bearing, then the opening will need to be strengthened with metal or wooden supports. Remodeling that includes partial dismantling load-bearing wall, can only be carried out with the permission of the housing inspection, strictly observing the approved project.

Even if the load-bearing walls in the redevelopment are not involved, a number of problems may arise. For example, if the redevelopment is associated with the expansion of the "wet zone". According to the law, the bathroom and toilet can only be expanded at the expense of non-residential premises, i.e. corridor, kitchen or pantry. An exception is only for residents of the first floors, where these restrictions do not apply.

Khrushchev houses often have a small little functional corridor connecting the entrance hall and the kitchen, due to which it would be convenient to expand the bathroom. Here it is in the diagram:

In fact, this is a corridor, but on the plans this site is designated as a residential area, so it remains either to put up with it, or act in two stages: first, separate this site with a partition and draw up a redevelopment of the living space into a corridor, then get permission for another redevelopment - expansion bathroom and re-register documents in accordance with all the rules. Those. you will first have to draw up a redevelopment of this type:

By the way, an increase in the bathroom due to the passage will require additional waterproofing.

If it is planned to combine the kitchen and living room in order to create a spacious living-dining area, then another restriction may be encountered here: combining the living space with the kitchen in the presence of a gas stove is not allowed. There are two ways out: change the stove to an electric one, or install a light sliding partition (after the arrival of the commission, it can be dismantled).

It is worth thinking about solving a number of other issues, which are discussed below.

Warming. Since the insulation in Khrushchev is insufficient - it is hot in them in summer, cold in winter, the walls in corner apartments often freeze through - the thermal insulation of the walls should be strengthened. And internal insulation in Khrushchev it is not applicable, since the implementation of this method leads to a shift in the dew point inside the walls. As a result, the walls begin to collapse, especially brick ones. Insulation available with sheathing external walls polystyrene slabs or using crates and mineral wool on the first floors of the building.

Glazing replacement. old wooden windows it is advisable to replace with new plastic ones. Here you will have to face some difficulties. Firstly, in some Khrushchev (panel) houses there are no window sills, and secondly, the window opening is likely to be uneven. If you contact a company with experience, then there will be no problems with window installation, since experience in replacing windows in Khrushchev has been gained. Something to think about carefully:

  • how wide will the window sill be,
  • how to make window insulation.

Usually they try to make the window sill wider so that there is room for indoor plants. In Khrushchevs, where initially there were no window sills, this should be avoided. On the one hand, the area of support for a wide window sill is insufficient, which means that the structure will be very unstable, on the other hand, a wide window sill will cause a violation of heat transfer. By the way, the plaster slopes must be completely dismantled.

Redevelopment ideas

So, the main problems of redevelopment and repair in Khrushchev are indicated. Now about the specific ideas of redevelopment.

One-room Khrushchev

It would seem that what can be invented, having a one-room Khrushchev as the initial data? It turns out that it is possible to enlarge the bathroom and make a separate bedroom, at least it is quite possible to make the redevelopment more convenient.

The typical layout of a one-room apartment in Khrushchev is a corridor leading to the kitchen and an “arch” to the living room. In some series, the "arch" was built up, and the passage to the room was located directly opposite front door. Sometimes the project included a storage room. In the corner apartments, there was another window on the long wall of the living room.

Redevelopment option Description of the redevelopment

This is a redevelopment option, where the “arch” is built up and turns into an ordinary doorway, the functionality of the living room in this case increases, since, for example, a sofa can be placed along the wall that has grown in length. The door to the toilet is also transferred, due to the rounding of the space, the hallway becomes more spacious. Now it can fit comfortably corner cupboard. The kitchen remains unchanged.

Here you can see that everything is completely demolished interior partitions, including bathroom partitions. The space is completely rebuilt. The bathroom is expanding due to the corridor, now there is enough space to install washing machine. The sink, by the way, is transferred to the opposite wall, which will require a sewer supply. The partition between the living room and the kitchen is dismantled, the wall between the bathroom and the kitchen is lengthened by building up the old doorway: you can place a full-fledged kitchen set. The disadvantage of redevelopment is that the hallway area is decreasing, but now it is convenient to place a closet in the living room, especially since there is a place for hangers and shelves for shoes in the hallway.

Another option for transforming space through the passage. In this case, the orientation of the bathroom changes - it increases slightly in area, but the main emphasis is on increasing the area of \u200b\u200bthe kitchen. It is partially combined with the living room due to a wide opening in which sliding partitions can be installed.

Here much attention is paid to storage places, and there is also a place for a double bed, it is not separated from the living area in any way, but is located in a cozy nook. The kitchen is combined with the living room, a separate niche for the refrigerator is arranged. You can beat the kitchen, living room and sleeping areas with the help of design. Pay attention to the bathroom. The entrance to it is transferred from the hallway to the passage, due to which the door is removed from narrow hallway. Replacing the bathtub with a shower cabin allows you to unload the space and install a washing machine.

In this version, due to the transfer of the doorway to the kitchen, the bathroom was expanded, or rather the bath area, part of the wall was beveled, which resulted in a full-fledged doorway to the living room. The kitchen space is not significantly optimized.

Here the partition between the hallway and the living room has been demolished. There is a closet in this place. The partition between the living room and the kitchen is partially missing. The role of the space divider is performed by the bar counter. By moving the dining area from the kitchen to the living room, the kitchen has become much more spacious. The kitchen set in this version is located with the letter "G" and occupies not only a long wall, but also a wall with a window. Perhaps, it should be noted the lack of storage space and a small bathroom, which is not rebuilt, but instead of a bathtub, a shower cabin and a washing machine are installed.

Even such a small apartment as a one-room Khrushchev can be made two-room if necessary. For example, on this plan you can see that a bed was placed in the far corner of the living room and bedside table. The bedroom area is separated by a partial partition to allow access to natural light as the bedroom has no window. The kitchen and dining area are united by a single countertop. Zoning carried out using flooring. There are storage spaces both in the hallway and in the living room.

IN corner Khrushchev, where there are two windows in the room, there are more redevelopment options, more precisely, two full-fledged ones can be made from one room bright rooms with natural light. This plan shows that the partition between the kitchen and the living room has been demolished, but a new partition has been erected, which now divides the room into two parts. The result is an excellent apartment with separate rooms: a living-dining room and a bedroom. The bathroom area is not affected by the redevelopment.

This redevelopment option is similar to the previous one, but the entrance to the bedroom is from the living room. But in the bedroom you can order a large closet, which will solve the problem with storage space.

Two-room Khrushchev

The typical layout of a two-room Khrushchev apartment gives more design options, especially if all the walls in the apartment are not load-bearing.

In a typical two-room Khrushchev, you can significantly expand the bathroom due to the passage, organize a spacious dining-living room. In addition, from two-room apartment in fact, you can make a three-ruble note. There are three common typical layouts of kopeck pieces in Khrushchev, which people have received loving names: “book”, “tram”, “mini-improvement”.

Redevelopment option Description of the redevelopment

The partition between the room and the living room is simply demolished. The space of the former passage is now divided between three rooms: an entrance hall, a bathroom and a kitchen. In the hallway there is a wardrobe, in the bathroom there is a washing machine, in the kitchen there is a niche for a refrigerator. The doorway to the pantry is blocked up. It turned into a dressing room with an entrance from the bedroom. The kitchen is combined with the living room.

Similar option. The difference is that in the hallway there is no niche for a closet, and in the living room, opposite the front door, there is a workplace. The entrance to the wardrobe is not from the bedroom, but from the living room, next to the workplace.

Here, the redevelopment mainly touched the kitchen and living room. The wall between the living room and the kitchen has been torn down and replaced by an island kitchen sink. Dinner Zone now in the living room dinner table adjacent to the sofa. Behind sliding partition there is a double bed, which we managed to fit in thanks to building up the wall between the hallway and the living room. From the bedroom area you can go into a spacious dressing room, hidden behind a sliding door. The bedroom became a nursery for two children.

The disadvantage of this redevelopment is immediately visible - it is too long and narrow corridor, but, nevertheless, this option has the right to exist. After all, it allows you to make separate rooms, expand the bathroom at the expense of the corridor, allocate a storage area. Both the bedroom and the living-dining room are separated by partial partitions, which perform the function of zoning the space and highlight the recreation area.

In this version, a niche for a refrigerator and a wardrobe is made at the passageway. The partition between the kitchen and the living room is removed only partially, only to make a new entrance. The living room turned out to be dark, the light comes only thanks to the transparent inserts in the partitions. But the new bedroom turned out to be very bright and with a balcony.

There is also a possibility of such a variant of redevelopment. Part of the pantry and the bedroom become a common space with the living room, the partition between the living room and the hallway is moved deeper into the room, the kitchen partition is dismantled. It turns out a very spacious living-dining room, a small bedroom and a full dressing room.

The kitchen and living room are not combined here, as in most of the previous options, but the bathroom is also expanded through the passage. The partition in the bedroom divides the room into two bedrooms - one with a window, the other without it. The wall is zigzag to leave room in both rooms for deep built-in wardrobes.

This option is similar to the previous one. The bedroom here is also rebuilt in such a way that two separate rooms are obtained from it, but the bathroom is not rebuilt, there is now a dressing room in the aisle and a place for a built-in wardrobe in the hallway. The partition between the living room and the hallway is moved further - a comfortable workplace is organized.

An interesting option is a diagonal redevelopment, as, for example, can be seen in this plan. Thanks to this approach, it was possible to fit a corner bath into the bathroom, combine a washbasin under a common worktop and washing machine. The kitchen does not expand, but its design changes significantly. First, the partition is being demolished. The table is replaced by a bar counter. Secondly, the sink is transferred to the side of the wall with a window. The partition between the bedroom and the living room is moved to install built-in furniture. The highlight of the project is a dressing room, on the sides of which you can place corner cabinets-pencil cases.

There is also a diagonal entrance. But the bedroom is significantly expanded due to the living room. In fact, it turns out a three-room apartment, but the living room is small and separated from the kitchen by a low partition.

A similar project, but the entrance hall is a little larger. There is a niche for a wardrobe. The bathroom has been enlarged.

Two-room Khrushchev on two sides. The rooms are adjacent. And the main task is to make them separate. From the narrow hallway, the door to the bathroom is transferred, and by reducing the area of \u200b\u200bthe living room, it is possible to allocate space for a pantry or dressing room. The bedroom is divided by a through rack, thanks to which the illumination is not significantly reduced, but the space is zoned into the bedroom and the living room. Instead of the former living room is now a children's room.

Three bedroom apartment

In a three-room Khrushchev, the tasks of redevelopment also come down to solving the problem of adjacent rooms and their small area.

Typical layout three-room apartment suggests small kitchen and a walk-through living room, from which the entrance to the bedroom is carried out, one bedroom is separate. It can be a book-type layout:

Or the "tram" layout:

Redevelopment options Description of the redevelopment

This plan shows that the entrance to the bathroom has been moved and made at the junction of the walls, the partitions of the kitchen and the hallway have been dismantled. The pantry has been converted into a dressing room and slightly expanded with a walkway.

In this option, there is no partition between the living room and the living room. The bathroom is combined. The partition between the living room and the kitchen is partially removed, but remains opposite the bathroom. The entrances to one of the bedrooms and the wardrobe are located in the form of a semicircle.

There is a large and comfortable dressing room, the entrance to which is from the bedroom. In the living room there is a special rounded niche for the TV, which has become a central element. The living room also has a dining area.

hallway design

The entrance hall in Khrushchev has several disadvantages:

  • miniature;
  • long and narrow corridor;
  • inconvenient layout in the form of the letter "G".

To avoid the lack of space, the entrance hall can be expanded with a bathroom or a living room, at least in order to install a closet. The fact is that even a narrow closet in such a hallway would be inappropriate, because often the situation is aggravated by the bathroom door opening into the hallway. If it is not planned to increase the room, then you will have to go for various design tricks in order to prevent the hallway from feeling cluttered.

Design techniques that will allow you to unload the interior as much as possible:

  • Minimalistic furniture. This applies not only to the design of furniture, but also to its quantity. In the hallway should be only the most necessary. These are, for example, places for shoes and clothes. Moreover, open hangers should be avoided, since even a couple of sets of winter clothes on it will create a messy effect. Still, you need to try to allocate space under the closet. It can be a small corner cabinet with a mirrored door. Nearby you can hang a small shelf for small things that should be at hand. In general, corner structures and mirrors should be used in the Khrushchev hallway. That's just in front of the door to hang a mirror is not recommended for Feng Shui.
  • Help expand space competent choice of interior color. It is known that light colors visually make the interior more spacious. This is true for the hallway as well. However, if you follow this advice, choose materials that can be washed. For example, for walls it can be paint, for floors it can be tile or ceramic tiles. Avoid materials with a porous texture, it is easy to get them dirty in a cramped hallway, but it will be difficult to return the previous look. From the cramped hallway will distract color accents, but do not overdo it - there should not be many of them. As for the ceilings, they must certainly be light, no experiments with dark shades on the ceiling, otherwise there will be a feeling of a very low ceiling.
  • Lighting. Of course, the design of the corridor should provide for carefully thought-out lighting. In the hallway, which is a priori devoid of a natural light source, this is extremely important. The best option would be a glossy stretch ceiling with spotlights. Their number must be sufficient. For example, lamps are often placed along the entire ceiling along the center line or along the perimeter near the walls in two rows. Additional wall lamps can be provided. The switch must be positioned so that it can be reached from the threshold. It is quite inconvenient when it is located in the center of the hallway. You have to cross part of the hallway in the dark in dirty shoes, coming from the street, just to turn on the light. By the way, if the corridor is long, then it is advisable to install a walk-through switch, with which you can control the lighting from different ends of the corridor.
  • Zoning. In a miniature hallway, zoning will probably be inappropriate, which cannot be said about long corridor. Some designers advise dividing the space of such a corridor into two, maximum three zones using arches, you can also use color schemes.

living room design

When designing a living room, you will have to face the same problems as in the hallway: low ceilings, little light. In addition, the living room is often a walk-through, which is why a significant part of it cannot be fully used. Some of the problems are solved with the help of redevelopment, as mentioned above, some can be solved by using competent design ideas.

  • laconic design, lack of protruding decorative elements;
  • the minimum amount of furniture,
  • neutral colors, it is possible to use contrasting colors to transform the perception of space, but a professional approach is required.

Most likely, you will have to order furniture according to your size, since it will be difficult to pick up something from the finished one.

The most correct move would be to replace heavy curtains with light curtains that will let natural light into the room as much as possible. In the evening, good artificial lighting should be organized. It can be all the same spotlights in combination with a glossy light stretch ceiling, a plasterboard ceiling with niches that are well lit around the perimeter, or the so-called floating ceiling, implemented using LED lighting.

Of course, you can make a separate bedroom in Khrushchev, but if you don’t want to sacrifice free space, for the sake of placing a double bed, which will stand as a “dead weight”, you can choose transforming furniture as a solution. Now on sale there is not only a bed that transforms into a small sofa, you can purchase corner sofas in a complex with living rooms that will turn into full beds at night.

As for style, with a skillful approach, you can design a living room in almost any of the styles, at least you can use individual style elements. Here, for example, living rooms in the style of shabby chic and high-tech:

Bedroom design in Khrushchev

Bedrooms in such layouts as "book" and "tram" are narrow and long. In terms of area, they seem to be not so small, but this does not add functionality to them. If redevelopment is not carried out in the bedroom, then one should strive to bring the shape of the bedroom closer to the square with the help of furniture. This is easy to do if the layout is "book". You can make a spacious dressing room or a spacious closet. With the "tram" is more difficult, but there is also a way out. As you can see above, with the help of redevelopment, you can combine a living room and a bedroom in one room.

With regard to lighting, choice of furniture and colors, all the recommendations that were given for the living room and hallway apply to the bedroom. Separately, it should be said that in the design of the bedroom it is better to avoid the use of cold saturated colors in in large numbers, however, bright contrasting shades in large quantities are also inappropriate here. The bedroom should be conducive to rest and peace. Use in the bedroom Decoration Materials and textiles predominantly in pastel light shades, combining colors. You can even choose white as the main color, creating something in the Scandinavian style.

There are specially designed color schemes for interior design that can be successfully used when choosing the color of furniture, trim and accessories.

Don't use complex decorative elements with frilly curved lines. If there is very little space, limit yourself to one bed. A mirror will be functional in the bedroom, especially if there is a place for a small dressing table and a dressing room is located nearby. A chandelier is often hung in the bedroom. It's better to just give it up and stick with it. spot lighting, but if you really want to, then choose flat models.

Kitchen in Khrushchev

There is too little space in the kitchen in Khrushchev, literally you can’t turn around. It is necessary either to redevelop, or try to transform the space so that it becomes functional and comfortable.

The main move is custom-made furniture. An insignificant moment, but two or three centimeters here and there, sometimes, decide the "outcome of the battle." Carefully thought out placement kitchen set, or rather all sections, drawers and household appliances you can literally implement a renovation in the kitchen of Khrushchev. Built-in appliances will serve well: microwave, oven, hob, a dishwasher that can be small. Even refrigerators can now be purchased built-in under the countertop: it seemed - a cabinet; but no, open the refrigerator.

It has become fashionable now to transfer kitchen sink to the window, thanks to which a tall refrigerator can be placed in the corner. We'll have to tinker with the sewer, but the solution is worth it.

You can not transfer the sink, if you do not see the need for it, but simply use the windowsill as a countertop. Some connect the work area and the bar counter with a single worktop, which makes the interior more solid.

As for textiles, pick up short light curtains in the kitchen, or even better horizontal blinds located directly on the sashes plastic windows- very comfortably.

Sewer and gas pipes are not very conveniently located in Khrushchev in the kitchen. gas pipes If desired, you can transfer by contacting the appropriate authorities. And you can disguise them with furniture or plastic box, or assemble a drywall box.

We hope that our advice will help you independently develop the redevelopment and design of your beloved and native Khrushchev. And finally, we offer you to look at another selection of photos of Khrushchev design.

Modern is a great option for individualists who like the unusual.

Conservative style will be appreciated by all those who love maximum tranquility in everything.

Minimalism - there is nothing superfluous in the interior. Along with this, non-standard color schemes are used.

Ethno-style - the traditions of a particular people are applicable in the design. The interior of the bedroom in Khrushchev should be done in one chosen style - it is important that not many accessories are involved.

Walls and ceiling

In creating a design, a special place is occupied by the choice of wall color. If the walls are to be painted, then you should choose blue shades, pink, peach.

Wallpaper should also be free of patterns. If you can’t see the wallpaper without a picture, then choose it as small as possible.

Wallpaper with a large pattern, with dark colors is not allowed, because the space will visually become smaller, tighter. The ceiling in the bedroom should be white, reflective.

living room design

When creating an interior, you need to use simple colors and their shades. The furniture is also simple, because the minimalism style gives a special feeling of freedom and lightness, space.

The furniture is arranged so that there is no inconvenience when moving the room. Therefore, as an example, you should not place a bed along the wall.

Remember that a small bedroom in Khrushchev implies perfect order in it - it is not acceptable for things and accessories to be scattered around the room, because the room looks overcrowded because of the mess.

The design should be done with light textiles, with a small pattern. Dark-colored fabrics with large patterns should not be used, because they look bulky.

Lighting

If you have a small bedroom in Khrushchev, the installation of floor lamps and bulky chandeliers with details is not allowed.

It is better to give preference to a small compact chandelier, which is mounted under the ceiling; sconces are used on the wall.

Work zone

Often, a working area is also equipped in the bedroom. To equip such a zone, it is ideal to use a wall near the window where a table for a PC is placed.

Shelves above the table are used to store papers. Shelves are also often mounted under the windowsill.

If there is extremely little space, then a folding table is selected, which is used in the work, and then removed from the field of view.

Furniture

When designing a small bedroom in Khrushchev, it is important to think about what items will be in the room.

Of course, no bedroom is complete without a bed. Also in the bedroom there should be a wardrobe, cabinets and mirrors.

Bed

If you have a modern bedroom in Khrushchev, then in principle a double bed can also be used, but it should be in harmony with the decor as a whole.

The bed should not have bulky details. Great option- a podium bed, because it saves space.

Boxes are mounted on the podium, in which little-used things can be stored. Cabinets are placed near the bed.

Cabinets

An excellent solution is to put a wardrobe in the bedroom, the doors of which are mirrored, because they visually expand the space.

An even better option is a built-in wardrobe, with the same mirrored doors. Ideally, if the cabinet is as high as the ceiling.

Repair

Often, the owners of bedrooms in Khrushchev are wondering how to visually expand the space without repairing and updating furniture.

Easy - a number of things you just need to get rid of.

Radiators

On separate photos of the bedroom in Khrushchev, you can see that new, modern ones are used instead of old heating radiators.

The batteries themselves are thin, and what's more, nicely designed.

Window

It is necessary to replace old windows with PVC windows, because they are visually lighter than wooden ones, more compact.

doors

Do not use swing doors, because they "steal" space. For bedrooms, sliding doors are selected.

Design - the door should be light, with frosted glass.

As you can see simple tips allow you to significantly expand the space of a small bedroom, making it not only beautiful, but also functional.

Of course, there are other ways to achieve a similar effect, but it is important not to forget what should be free place in the room to make the room look comfortable and cozy.

Photo design bedroom in Khrushchev

What can a query in a search engine tell us: “photo of a bedroom in Khrushchev”? The fact that most often this room is one of the smallest rooms, since its area can be some 6-10 sq.m. But even such a space can be turned into a cozy and comfortable place, regardless of its scale.

Characteristic features of the design of a small room

Nobody forbids you to use for the interior of the bedroom in Khrushchev any stylistic direction, but the designers recommend:

  • loft, which includes the idea of contrast between unlined and expensive surfaces and coatings, decor items;
  • minimalism, which implies simplicity, a minimum of details and shades;
  • high-tech, offering bright colors and only those objects that are functionally necessary for life.

These three directions have similar properties that are so necessary for the design of a bedroom in Khrushchev, namely: they are able to form the most comfortable, functional space, as well as visually increase the area.

Arrangement options

A small bedroom in Khrushchev can be equipped in different ways, using various zoning techniques, and such an organization of the sleeping space at home is far from uncommon. There are two similar ways to select areas in a room.

The space of a narrow bedroom is visually divided into several zones in order to avoid excessive clutter and a visual reduction in area:

  • Places for storing items and things. Tall wardrobes, wall-mounted or built-in shelves and racks, as well as drawers under the bed will fit perfectly here.
  • Place for rest. The main piece of furniture is a bed or a sofa, and which one depends on the design.

The repair of the bedroom and the visual division of its space may come from the future purpose of the zones:

Bedroom-boudoir

The fair sex is more likely to be happy with her, since this type of zoning involves a combination of a recreation area and an area where cosmetics and things that help put yourself in order are located. The bed here can be hidden behind thick curtains.

Zoning items: mirrors, chests of drawers and cabinets, cornice with curtains, dressing table.

Bedroom-living room

To implement this subspecies of zoning will require a lot of time and effort. It is worth considering that here the best functional solution there will be a purchase of a sofa, not a bed, since during the day it can be used to accommodate guests, and at night, before going to bed, laid out for relaxation.

Zoning items: various racks, whatnots and cabinets.

Bedroom-study

This type of zoning is similar to the previous one, prioritizing the purchase of a sofa, not a bed, and the mandatory availability of workspace.

Zoning items: bookcase, partition (made of thin plywood or drywall) or shelves.

Bedroom connected to a balcony

With this type of zoning, the window with the lower partition is removed, dividing the space of the room and the balcony, and the freed up additional space is used at the discretion of the owner.

Additional tricks and tricks

Regardless of which room zoning technique is used and whether it is used at all, you can resort to a couple more ways to help arrange a comfortable space in a small bedroom.

podium construction

The podium can rise above the floor to any height. Depending on this, the space in the room as a whole and in the sleeping area in particular can be used in different ways:

  • if the podium rises slightly from the floor, then you can install a bed or a sofa on it, and equip it with drawers for storing things and objects or a pull-out table;
  • if the podium looks like an impressive structure, then sleeping area can be equipped at the top (like a second tier of bed), and under it arrange a work area with a table and other items, or another bed, if necessary.

Rollaway bed use

IN modern bedroom, small in size, great solution there will be a rollaway bed.

This piece of furniture in the daytime can be hidden from view, vertically leaning against the wall and hidden, for example, behind a closet, and before going to bed, return to a horizontal position.

Installation of mirrors

One of the basic rules is to focus on the location of windows with natural light.

  • The presence of at least one large mirror on the wall or cabinet surface can make the room visually larger, due to the interior and all pieces of furniture reflected in its surface.
  • For especially eccentric people, there is an option with the location of mirrors on the ceiling.

Decorate with photo wallpaper or large paintings

TO this decision and the subsequent choice of decor item should be approached wisely. Visually enlarge the room will help panoramic or landscape images.

Use the space above the head of the bed

Here, a modular wall with a spacious mezzanine and high, preferably up to the ceiling, cabinets will come to the rescue. The best solution there will be a purchase of a rack of light colors, without handles.

Door selection

It is better to give preference to doors with sliding mechanism because they don't take up extra space.

"No" to carpets

This piece of furniture visually reduces the area of \u200b\u200bthe room, so it is more rational and practical to abandon carpets in favor of underfloor heating.

Monochromatic wall covering

Light shades do an excellent job of visually increasing the space, the main thing is not to overdo it with absolutely white.

Ceiling color

Designers are advised to use white or other bright hues and shades, you can give preference to stretch ceilings, so as not to suffer with painting or choosing a coating.

Remember the gender

Its color scheme should match general style bedrooms. Experts advise using various surfaces made of wood or laminate.

We refuse dimensional decor items

Massive pieces of decor and furniture, including curtains, "weight" the design of the room, so there is more lightness and less large-scale things.

Getting rid of trash

We remove the superfluous and littering the room with our presence, we leave everything necessary and, if possible, hide it from prying eyes in cabinets or cabinets.

There should also be order on the shelves, and not a variety of framed photos, books, souvenir products, candles and the like.

Lighting

Particular importance is attached to the installation of lighting, since there is little natural light in Khrushchev.

Let's pay attention to some details:

  • it is recommended to refuse large chandeliers with various crystal pendants due to the low height of the ceilings;
  • small matte shades can be an ideal purchase for a small room;
  • the natural, warm tone of the radiation of the lamps will help change the room, expanding it visually;
  • do not forget about panels with built-in lights that recreate the effect of a raised ceiling;
  • we give preference to luminaires and lamps with a swivel body, since with the help of light supply they divide the room into zones;
  • in a bedroom where white or light shades prevail, it is recommended to use hidden light sources, and not one or more large lamps;
  • it is better if the sleeping area is illuminated by light reflected from the ceiling, wall lamps and lamps in which the light is directed vertically can help here.

If you remember at least a few tricks and tricks that are described above, then repairing a small bedroom in Khrushchev will not result in big problems and trouble for its owner.
