  • detects in the system and cable lines weaknesses or hidden failures;

  • carries out repair work to eliminate malfunctions;
  • carries out soldering, cleaning from dirt and checking the operation of system elements.

In the event of unforeseen circumstances, extraordinary maintenance work may be carried out, as mentioned above. In particular, they are required in the event of a malfunction of the alarm system, the presence of several false positives during the month, etc. Extraordinary work is carried out in the scope of regulation No. 2.

By the way, the best option there is a case when the maintenance of the security alarm is carried out by the organization that performed its installation.

REPAIR OF SECURITY ALARMS

The decision to repair the alarm system is made in the following cases:

  • the inability to perform its functions (in whole or in part);
  • expiration of the service life.

With the first point, everything is more or less clear, while the second may seem controversial, since the life of the alarm system is a rather vague concept. I’m not sure if Order No. 35 of the Ministry of Internal Affairs is still in force, approving the manual for the maintenance and repair of fire alarm equipment (OPS), but it was he who determined the maximum service life of the OPS at 6-7 years.

In principle, there is a certain logic here: equipment becomes obsolete morally and physically, its reliability decreases and failure can occur at any time. However, let's leave it at the level of theoretical disputes and consider the scope of work and types of repairs to alarm systems. By the way, in form I will deviate a little from how it is described in the aforementioned Manual, but in content I will be as practical as possible.

So, burglar alarm repairs can be divided into:

  • current;
  • and capital.

Maintenance involves the replacement of small parts of alarm loops, individual sensors that have failed, or reception and control devices, replacement batteries in power supplies, etc. In short, the volume of these works is small and, in some cases, can fit into the scope of unscheduled maintenance.

As a rule, a service organization puts forward a proposal for such a repair, and notifies the owner of the system about it. Naturally, this proposal must be justified both in technical and economic terms.

By the way, current repair work can be carried out at the initiative of the facility administration, especially in cases of partial redevelopment, replacement of windows, doors, etc. All these activities require the dismantling and subsequent restoration of parts of the security alarm system.

Overhaul includes the replacement of the entire cable infrastructure and most of the equipment, or better, the replacement of all appliances and devices. There is no point in saving on pennies, leaving weak links in the system.
