How to make golden letters in coreldraw. Different ways to work with text in CorelDRAW X7

path for text and Selection Tool (Pointer) choose this path . Execute the command Text-Text Along Path. Place the cursor on the path and enter text along the path (Fig. 6.1).

Rice. 6.1.

To adjust the position of text entered along a path using Selection Tool (Pointer) select the text along the path. On the attribute panel this tool select the following options:

  • Text Orientation: specifies how to stretch the text along the path.
  • Distance from the path: distance between text and path (Figure 6.2).
  • Bias: Place text horizontally along the path.

Rice. 6.2.

Here are the buttons Flip text horizontally to flip text characters from left to right, and Flip text vertically for a mirror flip of text characters (Fig. 6.3). In other words, text along a path can be rotated by 180

.

Rice. 6.3.

A practical example of a designer applying text along a path is shown in Figure 1. 6.4.

Rice. 6.4.

Consider the case where the text is located on a circle. By changing the parameters of the text, for example, its size, it is possible to ensure that it fits on the circle completely and evenly (Fig. 6.5).

Rice. 6.5.

Now we hide the path , i.e. the line of the circle. To do this, select all objects selection tool and remove the outline (Fig. 6.6).

Rice. 6.6.

Next, we can turn our work into something like a print. To make our picture look like a print, add two circles and place the circle inside the circle. Now we need to turn two circles into one object. To do this, without removing the selection from them, we execute the command Arrange-Merge (Ctrl+L)- rice. 6.7.

Rice. 6.7.

Below are several logos made with text along a path (Figure 6.8).

shell effect

Compared to earlier versions in CorelDrawX7, we can apply effects without compromising text information, and it is no longer necessary to convert text to curves. The program has such effects as the effect of transparency, the effect of the lens, bevel, extrusion, flow and shell (Fig. 6.9).

Rice. 6.9.

To wrap text in a wrapper, do the following:

  • Type any curly text,
  • Execute the command Effects-Shell,
  • Out of the window Shell apply the skin you want to the text(Fig. 6.10).

initial letter

For plain text, you can create bulleted lists and drop caps.

New term

A bulleted list in polygraphy is usually called a sequence of identically formatted paragraphs, at the beginning of each of which there is a list marker in the form of a dash or a graphic symbol.

New term

An initial letter is the first character of a paragraph, highlighted with a very large (compared to the body of the paragraph) size and located in a special way in relation to the rest of the text of the paragraph.

An initial letter can be created with the command Text-drop cap- rice. 6.11.

Rice. 6.11.
  • checkbox Use drop cap necessary in order to apply the initial letter;
  • counter Number of lines serves to indicate the number of lines next to the drop cap;
  • counter Spacing after letter needed to indicate the distance between the initial letter and the main text;
  • checkbox Use indent style for drop cap set to offset the drop cap from the body text;
  • checkbox View allows you to preview the letter.

Using the Lens effect

CorelDRAW uses lenses to create the effect of enlarging part of an image. This effect is applicable to any CorelDRAW objects, including bitmaps imported into the program (in particular, photographs). Graphics editor provides you with several types of lenses, and access to them is implemented using the drop-down list located in the center of the window Lens called by the command Effects-Lens, which corresponds to the key combination Alt+F3- rice. 6.12.

Rice. 6.12.

To get acquainted with the action of the lens effect, launch CorelDRAW and type any text or import with the command File-Import photograph. AT this case the text (or photo) acts as the object that will be exposed to the lens and magnified. Now create an object to use as a lens (you can use any closed shape as a lens, such as a rectangle or a circle). selection tool select the object that will act as a lens and select the command Effects-Lens. A window will appear Lens. Install from drop down list desired option lenses, for example Fish eye, make the necessary settings for this effect and click the button Apply. To conclude this topic, let's look at two more examples (Figure 6.13). In the first image, a lens is applied to a bitmap. On the second - the lens is drawn very realistically and a shadow effect is applied to it.

Fill text with a photo texture using the PowerClip tool

Type any word in plain text, highlight the text selection tool, from the menu called by the right mouse button, convert the resulting inscription to curves (Fig. 6.14).

Rice. 6.14.

Now remove the fill and set the outline to 2mm. (Fig. 6.15).

Rice. 6.15.

team File-Import import the bitmap into the program. Select a photo and command Effects-PowerClip-Place in Frame place the bitmap in the container by clicking on the text with the big black arrow - fig. 6.16.

Rice. 6.16.

If you fill each letter separately with your texture, then it will turn out something like this (Fig. 6.17).

Text with Blend and Distort Effects

We write any text, then with a tool Polygon (Y) draw a rhombus 10 by 100 mm (Fig. 6.18).

Rice. 6.18.

The rhombus is painted in blue and duplicated ( Ctrl+D). We place the original and the duplicate at some distance from each other and apply between them Flow clockwise(fig. 6.19 and fig. 6.20).

Rice. 6.19.

Rice. 6.20.

Now apply the tool Distortion and perform a torsion of rhombuses from the center of the overflow (Fig. 6.21).

Text tool Artistic media

Activate the Text tool and write any text on the drawing sheet. Before applying artistic effects to the text, it must be turned into curves. To do this, select the entered text with Selection Tool and press the keyboard shortcut ctrl+q. Now activate the tool in the graphics panel Decoration and set the mode on its properties panel Brush

To make the text not only voluminous, but also add highlights to it, an experienced user of a software tool called CorelDRAW will need no more than fifteen minutes. It is interesting that he will do this using standard tools and functions based on individual approach to complete a specific task.

First, it makes sense to choose the required size and dimensions of the text font through the Nudge Offset functions located on the toolbar called the Pick Tool. You should also take care of setting the Contour effect, adjustable through a special menu or a combination of buttons Ctrl + F11. As a rule, a size is set that does not exceed a tenth of the average thickness of the letter symbols. With the help of the Nudge Offset function, precise offsets can be made various figures, which is especially true in the case of mass application of such effects, as well as when the designer is required to comply ultimate precision and accuracy.

The typed text must be prepared in advance, and then, through the execution of the Ctrl + Q key command, give it the required curvature. At the same stage, the Contour effect is used, after which the text with the effect is divided into several separate parts using the Arrange>Break Apart (Ctrl+K) functions.

To duplicate the original font, you need to press the plus on the keyboard, you can also use the direction arrows to move it around the home screen. Next, assign the modified font type with the Pick Tool command and apply the Trim function. Now you can get rid of the duplicate.

A set of functions Shape Tool (F10) will help the user to refine the rest of the objects. You must remember to run the Dynamic Guides function (Alt + Shift + D) to save yourself from unnecessary problems and trouble. This command is responsible for the accurate and even transfer of all anchor points and lines. Glare acquire the missing accuracy.

Using a similar technique, the designer can give the necessary volume to almost any object, not to mention working with a shadow and all sorts of reflections. Moreover, it is not necessary to use interactive transparency and gradient filling in such cases.

Applying the edge effect

By applying the Contour effect (Ctrl+F9), you can add several preliminary faces to the modified text object. Then you will need to use the so-called serifs through the Free Hand Tool group of functions when snapping to elements (Alt + Z). Segments with two nodes will be more than enough.

If you apply the Smart Fill Tool, the specified text area will become a separate object.

After that, you can get rid of the contour lines and serifs, and the text will be divided into letters and symbols. The designer is free to set the gradients at his discretion. To paint over the edges of a text object that are under the light source, you need to use the gradient function called the Status Bar`a, which is usually located at the bottom with right side on the working field. You can also use the right mouse button and the Copy Fill Here command.

For artistic design of inscriptions, a raster is usually used. Adobe Photoshop editor, which has a powerful arsenal of filters, effects, layer blending modes. But CorelDRAW has undeniable advantage, which means that the 3D inscription is created in vector format. Let's explore like in corel make big letters.

The volumetric appearance of the image is given by the heterogeneity of colors, the combination of highlights of light and shadows, the dimensions, and the proportions of the perspective. Before you start drawing volumetric letters, come up with the text and the basis from which the volume will be produced: color, size, style. There are several ways to do bulk text in Korel.

A simple way that does not require much time and special knowledge. Do the following:

Thus, volumetric letters in Korel are ready. Experimentally, you can achieve an increase or decrease in the effect. The main thing is that the text should be easy to read and not look flat.

Volume with fill

A 3D effect can be created by working with the object's fill and path settings. This is done as follows:

  1. print, do a simple fill and create an outline.
  2. Separate the path and the object, then letter the curve so that it intersects them just above the middle.
  3. Make the outline color white, type internal, offset 1 mm.
  4. Select the curve and letters, and then press the mode button Exclude the rear object from the front. You will get a partially white inscription.
  5. Apply Transparency to the top object.
  6. Create a gray outline on the outside with a thickness of 2 mm.
  7. Break apart and duplicate the gray outline.
  8. Give the gray outline an interactive fill of your choice.
  9. Edit to the look you like.

Pulling

There is a special tool called Extrude that allows you to create beautiful 3D text in CorelDRAW. The bottom line is that the letters seem to grow in volume in a certain direction. The created element is called the extrusion body, and you can also apply color and fill type options to it. Schematically, the procedure can be represented as follows:

overflow

Another easy way to make three-dimensional letters in Corel with a few mouse clicks. The bottom line is that two copies of the inscription are created and one is shifted relative to the other. Then the specified command is simply executed. The procedure is similar to the pull effect:

  1. Write a word and translate it into curves.
  2. Apply a solid color fill.
  3. Copy the object and move it.
  4. You can change the size of the copy without distorting the proportions.
  5. Click Blend and draw a line from the original to the copy.
  6. If necessary, adjust the tool settings.
  7. You can add some other effects, for example, a shadow.

Letter warp

The effect of volume can be achieved by simply distorting the proportions of the inscription:

For example, you can make a phrase expand from the beginning to the end to create a sense of perspective. Then you can use any of the previously discussed methods, add highlights or fills. The main thing is not to pile up unnecessary effects. You can also use the Lens tool to deform, which creates a fisheye distortion.

Lettering, photo, or pattern fill

This group of methods for creating three-dimensional letters in Corel operates with the “Place in container” action. Our phrase is used as it, and the content can be a photograph, a pattern, or pre-prepared and artistically designed letters, words or phrases. The algorithm of actions is as follows:

  1. Write the words and translate them into curves.
  2. Import a picture or photo that you will fill with.
  3. Select the "Place in container" command.
  4. Direct the arrow that appears to the phrase.
  5. If a picture image inside the letters seems unlucky to you, click "Edit Container Contents", make your changes and save them.
  6. To make the inscription look better, edit the outline.

These are different variants volumetric image of letters in the Corel editor. As a rule, the artist combines different ways and tools for creating easy-to-read and effective-looking labels. Wide application it finds it in advertising design, creating logos, slogan images, developing attractive packaging.
