I was prompted to create a computer desk by the acquisition of a multifunctional device, in the common people of an MFP. The dimensions of the device did not allow it to be placed on an old small table, and therefore I had to use my imagination. For myself, I determined the most important thing, that the main dimensions of the table should not differ greatly from the generally accepted ones, otherwise the design will be large and unpresentable. At the same time, the question arose of how to save more workspace, and at the same time conveniently position the MFP. After analyzing many options, I developed, in my opinion, the most simple and optimal.


To create a table, I needed:

1. Furniture shield 18x600x2000 - 2.5 pcs.

2. Furniture shield 18x400x2000 - 3 pcs.

3. Furniture shield 18x200x2000 - 2 pcs.

4. Self-tapping screws 40x60 - about 50 pieces.

5. Floor sheet of plywood 6mm.

6. Edged board 12x120mm - 6m.

7. Roller guides:

500mm - 3k-ta (for boxes);

400mm - 1set (for sliding table top).

8. Lacquer glossy - 1.5 l.

9. Furniture handles - 3 pcs.

And so, we start from the bottom of the computer table. Using a furniture board 18x600mm, we cut out the main sidewalls, as well as the countertops for the MFP and workplace(I draw your attention to the fact that the countertops will be slightly narrower than the sidewalls). At the sidewalls we make roundings in the upper front part (we file the corner 2x2 cm and round it with emery), in the back lower part we make a wash down under the plinth 4.5x5.5 cm. In the central sidewall, in its rear part, we make a recess for a furniture board 200 mm wide. This cross member is necessary to give reliability to the frame.

We assemble the structure, fastening it with self-tapping screws, while not forgetting to drill holes for them.




Now you need to close the lower voids. We cut the rectangles to size, and fix them with furniture dowels.



So, Bottom part ready. Let's go to our top!

We cut out the upper sidewalls, also round off the front upper parts. I want to note that the entire manufacturing process was carried out manually, I don’t have a circular saw, and I can’t put it at home, so that everything turns out exactly the lower parts of all structural elements ( furniture panels) should be with a “store” cut, and the upper ones should already be sawed off on their own.

In order to evenly fix the sidewalls, we make a template corresponding to their thickness. We apply it to the countertop and measure the holes.



We screw the screws from below and fasten the upper sidewall.



Do the same with the top left of the table.



After we figured out the left and right parts, we move on to the top shelf. We saw the furniture board 18x400mm lengthwise to the width of the shelf. Here it is very important to do the work evenly, since the remaining thin rail will go to the manufacture of the upper rear wall.

We turn to the manufacture of the middle partition. To do this, we use a furniture board 18x200mm. We also drill holes in the table top according to the template, and fix the partition with self-tapping screws. Be sure to use a square in the process of all work, then the design will turn out to be even and beautiful!



First, we attach the upper back wall of the shelf to the sidewalls, then we put the shelf on the middle partition, align it and fix it from the sides with self-tapping screws. Fasten the middle partition to the top shelf.



The main top frame is ready. It remains to fill the void on the left side. I settled on the option from the shelf with a jumper. For the manufacture we use a furniture board 18x200mm. We select the dimensions of the shelf ourselves. In my case, the dimensions were selected according to the height of the MFP, namely for the optimal opening of the lid of the multifunctional device. We measure the shelf, select the jumper to it, fasten the structure with self-tapping screws.



After we have assembled the entire frame, we move on to the drawers.

This time I used a 12x120mm board to make them. Everything is very simple, we fasten four boards together with self-tapping screws, in the front and back. From below we use plywood as the bottom. We select the width and depth of the drawers taking into account the internal dimensions of the side cabinet and roller guides.

After we have collected three boxes, we fasten the guides. I recommend starting from the bottom, as it will be much easier to distribute the rest of the boxes evenly.



We try to find the optimal distance so that everything turns out symmetrically. It is worth noting here that the roller guides need to be mounted not flush with the top and bottom of the cabinet, but a little deeper, because it will be attached to the front of the drawers front part, made of furniture panels, it is precisely this width that should be indented.



We make the front parts of the boxes from the remains of the shields. How to choose their sizes will be indicated below, using the example of attaching handles.

The last element of the table remains - a retractable tabletop. We make it from a furniture board 18x400mm, while not forgetting to take into account the width of the roller guides on the sides.



The frame is ready. Let's move on to the processing. I used a grinder, who does not have one, I highly recommend purchasing and always with a vacuum cleaner to minimize the amount of dust in the apartment.

Assembling a computer desk

A computer table from a furniture board can have any size, additional shelves and drawers, as well as color.

The table should be multifunctional, compact, it should easily accommodate all fixtures. To make it, you need 3 shields - 2000x600x18 mm, 3 - 2000x400x18 mm and 2 - 2000x200x18 mm. In addition, you will need a 12x120 mm edged board; dowels; plywood 6 mm thick.

First you need to draw up a drawing of the table and take measurements. From a large shield, cut out the tabletop, sides, bottom and top of the cabinet. Plane the corners of the side walls of the upper outer part and give them smoothness. In the place of the sides, which will fit closely to the wall, make a recess 5x5 mm under the plinth. For rigidity in the center of the side inside the vertical wall, install a transverse panel. Self-tapping screws need to fix the details.

When making a niche designed for the system unit, also cut off sharp corners and make recesses for the baseboard. Next, you need to make a frame for the shelves, which will be placed above the computer desk. Then attach the frame to the assembled table parts.

For the top shelf, use the middle board, which needs to be sawn, and the small board will be the middle partition attached to the countertop. From a small furniture board, make a shelf with a jumper, place it above the cabinet.

Now you need to make retractable drawers. Walls for them can be made from edged board, and make the bottom from a sheet of plywood. Connect all elements with self-tapping screws. Install roller or ball mechanisms for the drawers and for the tabletop shelf.

Cut out the keyboard table from a 40 cm wide shield. Trimmings can be left for the outer elements of the drawers. Next, the entire product must be disassembled, processed with a grinder and applied 2 layers of varnish to all components.

Leave the varnish to dry, then make final assembly the whole structure, install the handles - and the work can be considered finished!

Furniture for the kitchen from the shield

The main material will be a shield 2000x600x18 mm. In addition, you will need:

  • spanners;
  • table legs;
  • timber 40x40 mm;
  • nuts with a diameter of 12 mm.

First prepare the countertop. Add rigidity to it by reinforcing it with bars. Then you need to make holes and mount fasteners for the table legs. Install the legs. Next, you need to sand the countertop and apply varnish to it. Leave for a while to dry the table completely.

Desk

A desk made of furniture board can also serve as a computer desk, so it is perfect for a child.

To, you need 3 shields wide - 200, 400 and 600 mm.
Additionally you will need:

  • square;
  • plywood 6 mm thick;
  • bar 20x20 mm.

Basically, building a desktop is similar to assembling a computer desk. But the desktop is more bulky, with large quantity drawers, shelves, niches. Complete the design drawing and make all calculations.

Start by making a tabletop that is cut out of a large shield, then work the corners, secure and add bars for reinforcement.

Cut out the pencil cases. Round off the top side corners.

Make shelves and doors for niches. Prepare the elements for the plinths. Cut out 2 squares of 70x70 mm from plywood, cut them obliquely to make elements triangular shape, place them on the back of the frame. Align the frame with a square and secure with triangles.

According to the drawing, cut out and place the shelves at the right distance. Mount guide mechanisms. Fasten the cut out parts of the boxes. Fabricate and install doors.

Disassemble the table into parts, work well with a grinder, apply 2 layers of varnish. Assemble the table. Attach the table top. Shelves and plinth are placed on corner holders. Install the fittings, having prepared the necessary holes in advance.

Cabinet making

A handmade wardrobe is perfect for a children's room or a corridor. Cabinet dimensions are optional.

Prepare 7 shields: 3 - 2000x600x18 mm, 3 - 2000x400x18 mm and 1 - 2000x200x18 mm. You will also need:

  • hardboard board;
  • plywood 6 mm thick;
  • hanger rod;
  • 2 bars for installing the bar.

Make the sides of the shields, reducing the width of each by 7 cm, since the depth of the product according to the standard is 530 mm. From the bottom of the sidewalls, make a recess 50x50 mm under the plinth. Make the details of the shelves for the drawers, the height of which should be 200 mm, and the gap should be 20 mm.

The upper structural element needs to be made a little wider than the drawer shelves - 800 mm. Attach the bottom of the cabinet to the side walls with screws at a distance of 5 cm above the floor, the middle part - at a distance of 42 cm. The shield, whose width is 400 mm, will be a niche for hats, it is mounted 200 mm from the top. Fix the plinth with holders. Use a hardboard sheet as the back wall of the product. Fix everything properly with self-tapping screws.

The drawer drawer is installed tightly against the sides, since the outer parts of the drawers are overlapped. The details of the boxes are made of plywood. Every 100 mm, grooves are made along the parts so that the plywood does not split during the assembly process. After assembly, install the drawers in the cabinet. From a narrow shield, make the front sides, but you need to fasten it only at the end of the assembly of the entire structure.
