Rules for the use of household gas. Current rules for using gas at home (RF). Standards for using a geyser

The Ministry of Emergency Situations warns - be careful with household gas, follow all requirements for safe operation gas appliances. To avoid accidents when operating gas appliances, experts recommend following the following rules and recommendations:

You should purchase gas cylinders and gas equipment only from specialized organizations that have certificates for the sale of these products. After all, the responsibility for the safe operation of operating gas appliances and their maintenance in proper condition lies with their owners. Never buy gas appliances, including gas cylinders, from strangers.

Annual inspection required gas equipment specialists.

Before opening the gas valve on the stove, hold a lit match to the burner.

Remember that gas mixed with air is explosive and fire hazard!

Sources of ignition of the mixture can be: open fire(matches, cigarettes, etc.), an electric spark that occurs when turning electrical appliances on and off. To avoid poisoning, it is necessary to check the draft before ignition, immediately after turning on gas appliances and during their operation, monitor the serviceability of the ventilation ducts, and constantly ventilate the room, especially before going to bed.

It is advisable to place gas cylinders (working and spare) for household gas appliances outside buildings (in extensions, ground and basement floors, cabinets or under covers covering top part cylinders or reducer) at a blind wall at a distance of no closer than 5 m from the entrances to the building. Extensions must be made of non-combustible materials.

Extensions and cabinets for gas cylinders must be locked to prevent access to them by children and unauthorized persons and have blinds for ventilation.

When using gas at home, it is prohibited:

Tie ropes to gas pipelines (this violates the density threaded connections, a gas leak may occur and, as a result, an explosion); dry clothes and hair over a lit stove;

unauthorized reinstallation and repair of gas appliances, cylinders, fittings; leave operating gas appliances unattended;

allow for use gas appliances children preschool age and persons not who know the rules their safe use;

use open fire to detect gas leaks (only soap emulsion should be used for this);

install the pressure regulator without an O-ring or gasket;

bend and twist the rubber-fabric sleeve (hose), allowing damage to the outer layer of the sleeve (cuts, cracks, kinks), since gas leakage occurs in these places; place flammable materials and liquids near the operating stove; use rooms where gas appliances are installed for sleep and rest; use gas and gas stoves for heating the room;

attach parts of gas fittings using a spark-producing tool; store spare cylinders.

When an underground gas pipeline leaks, gas can penetrate through loose soil or cracks in the foundation into the basement of a residential building. If you detect the smell of gas, it is necessary to fence off the entrance to the basement, make sure that there is no smoking or lighting a fire nearby, ensure ventilation of the basement, entrance and call emergency service.

If gas equipment malfunctions or if you smell gas, you should immediately stop using the device, turn off the taps on the stove and the valve on the cylinder or the flag on the reducer, call the emergency service by calling “04” and thoroughly ventilate the room. At this time, do not use open fire, do not turn on or off electrical appliances and electric lighting.

The Department of Supervisory Activities of the Leningrad District reminds the population of the measures fire safety when using gas equipment.

75% of the total fires occurring in the area occur in residential buildings. Fires destroy household property and cause material damage to the state and owners. People are dying.

Remember that you are responsible for the serviceability of gas equipment inside the apartment. When selling any gas apparatus must be supplied with instructions for use. The person installing the device must provide you with a document certifying that the work was carried out in accordance with technical standards and safety rules. Flexible hoses should be as short as possible (no more than 2m). Make sure they fit tightly onto the faucet. The maximum service life of a flexible hose is four years (the limit may be marked on the hose), but caution requires replacing it every two years. The hose clamp should provide a complete seal, but do not clamp too tightly as this may rupture the hose and cause a gas leak. Do not forget that gas used in everyday life is explosive, therefore, when using gas appliances, you must follow fire safety rules!

Methods for detecting gas leaks

Approximately. On the surface of soapy water poured lengthwise gas pipes, bubbles form at the leak points.

Aurally. In the event of a severe leak, the gas escapes with a whistle.

By smell. The characteristic odor that the gas gives off becomes stronger near the leak. Never look for a gas leak using an open flame, such as a burning match. Try to stop the gas supply if possible. Be sure to call the fire department.

When using gas appliances at home, the following safety precautions should be taken:

Constantly check the draft, keep the windows open in rooms where gas appliances are installed. Burning gas burns oxygen; Therefore, it is necessary that constant ventilation is provided in the room. Don't shut up ventilation holes in winter.

Do not leave operating gas appliances unattended unless they have appropriate automation and are not designed for continuous operation.

Do not use gas stoves for heating, and do not use rooms where gas appliances are installed for sleeping and resting.

At the end of using gas, close the taps on gas appliances, the valves in front of them, and when using cylinders, close the cylinder valves;

Regularly check the tightness of hoses and threaded connections on pipes using soap foam;

Contain gas stove clean;

When leaving the apartment, turn off the gas on the gas pipeline or tighten the valve on the gas cylinder.

Remember, gas leaks usually occur as a result of a breakdown in the hose connecting the gas pipeline to the stove, depressurization of threaded connections, forgetfulness of people who leave valves open, children's pranks, or water pouring over the edge of a cookware dousing the flame.

What to do in case of a gas leak

Avoid any actions that cause sparks and increase the room temperature. Do not touch electrical switches - this may also cause a spark. Ensure intensive ventilation of the room by opening all windows. Remove everyone present. Stop the gas supply if possible. Call a specialist.

Gas caught fire at the leak: as long as the gas burns, there is no danger of explosion. Never blow out the flame, as this can lead to disaster. Gas and air form an explosive mixture, and in the presence of an ignition source (overheated metal, burning embers, sparks, electric arc, etc.) an explosion is inevitable. Make sure that objects located near the fire do not catch fire. Leakage from a compressed gas cylinder.

Typically, a leak occurs at the connection between the cylinder and the flexible hose. In case of such damage, you can temporarily cover the area with a wet cloth. If you can, take the cylinder outside. If this is not possible for you, ventilate the room well. Avoid any activities that cause an increase in air temperature. Return the cylinder to the supplier immediately. One of the reasons for the fire is a violation of safety rules when using a gas stove and risers on the first floors. So, one of the family members turns on the gas stove, places containers on it for cooking or heating food, and for a long time is distracted by other matters, forgetting that hot cooking utensils, burnt food, and rapidly boiling water can create a fire hazard in the apartment. To avoid fire when using gas appliances, we strongly recommend that you remember and follow the practical rules:

Particular attention must be paid to the use of gas risers on the first floors in summer time: careless residents, due to inexperience or deliberately block the apartment during their absence gas taps in the gas parking lot on the first floor, which is very dangerous, because it blocks the entire gas system in the house, which is fraught with the most serious consequences, including fire and death.

In case of danger, if residents are absent for a long time, employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Ministry of Emergency Situations will be involved in opening the apartments.

Fire on a compressed gas cylinder. Try turning off the tap by wrapping your hands in a wet rag. If this is not possible (there is a fire on the gasket, the tap has become deformed due to heat), do not blow out the flame, as this may lead to an explosion. Call the fire department immediately and try to prevent objects located near the fire from igniting. Never move a compressed gas cylinder until it has cooled down: the slightest shock may cause it to explode.

PROHIBITED:

Allow preschool children, people who do not control their actions and do not know the rules for using these appliances to use gas appliances.

Store empty and filled containers in rooms and basements. liquefied gases cylinders. Have in a gasified room more than one cylinder with a capacity of 50 (55) liters or two cylinders of 27 liters (one of them is a spare one).

Position the cylinders against furnace doors stoves at a distance of less than 2m from them. Use gas: if gas appliances malfunction, there is no draft, a gas leak is detected, without checking the condition of the smoke and ventilation ducts.

Any unauthorized actions with gas equipment, gasification without the appropriate permits, and the involvement of random persons to repair and rearrange gas appliances are prohibited. All types of work related to gas must be performed only by specialized organizations.

THE POPULATION USING GAS IN THE HOME MUST:

Be trained in the safe use of gas at the gas operating organization, have and follow the operating instructions for the devices.

Monitor the normal operation of gas appliances, chimneys and ventilation, check the draft before turning on and during operation of gas appliances with combustion products discharged into the chimney. Before using a gasified oven, check that the gate is fully open. Periodically clean the chimney “pocket”.

At the end of using gas, close the taps on gas appliances and in front of them, and when placing cylinders inside kitchens, additionally close the valves on the cylinders. If gas equipment malfunctions, call gas company workers. If the gas supply suddenly stops, immediately close the burner taps of gas appliances and notify the gas service by phone 04

Before entering basements and cellars, before turning on the lights and lighting the fire, make sure there is no smell of gas.

If you detect the smell of gas in the basement, entrance, in the yard, on the street: inform others about the precautions; report to the gas service by phone 04 from a non-gas-free place; take measures to remove people from the polluted environment, prevent the switching on and off of electric lighting, the appearance of open flames and sparks; Before the emergency team arrives, organize ventilation of the room. Be careful with gas! Your forgetfulness and inattention can cause trouble for you, your loved ones and neighbors. Only skillful handling of gas appliances and knowledge of the rules for using gas will help you avoid accidents.

Safe handling of electricity

In the house, electricity provides lighting, heating, cooking, and the operation of various household appliances, TV, radio equipment. At the same time, electricity under certain conditions poses a serious danger to human life and health.

To avoid this, you must follow a number of generally accepted rules when using electricity:

Monitor the good condition of electrical appliances and the cords with which they are connected to the network.

Do not use faulty electrical appliances, homemade electric ovens, or heaters.

Do not repair electrical plugs with electrical tape. Replace them if they are broken.

Never leave a switched-on electrical appliance unattended.

Do not plug more than one plug into an outlet.

Follow the order of connecting the device to the electrical network: first connect the cord to the device, then to the network, disconnect it in the reverse order.

Do not handle electrical appliances with wet hands.

Do not keep plugged-in appliances in the bathroom; remember:

cannot be used electrical devices while in water.

Repair any exposed exposed areas or broken electrical wires immediately.

Do not make temporary wire connections.

Safe handling of household gas

Currently, household gas is widely used in everyday life. Household gas has neither color nor odor, but in order to detect its leak, special gases are added to it.

substances that have a specific odor.

A gas leak can lead to human poisoning and explosion of the premises. To prevent this, you must follow a number of safety rules when using household gas:

To light a gas burner, first hold a lit match and then open the gas valve smoothly and carefully.

Do not leave gas-burners turned on without supervision.

Make sure that the heated liquid does not flood the burner flame.

If you notice an extinguished burner, do not try to light it again - this may lead to an explosion, turn off the gas supply tap, open the window and ventilate the kitchen.

Wait until the burner has cooled down, clean it, blow out the gas supply holes and only then light it again.

If you smell gas in the room, do not light matches or turn on lights or electrical appliances until the gas leak has been eliminated and the room has been completely ventilated.

If you notice the smell of gas in the entrance of the house, immediately call the emergency gas service by telephone “04” and provide the exact address.

Announce the danger to all residents of the house, do not use open fire or electric bells.

Open the windows and doors in the entrance and thoroughly ventilate it. Upon arrival of gas service specialists, indicate to them the source of the gas leak and follow their instructions.

Gas in modern world is one of the main sources of energy, used in production, used in cars with gas fuel supply equipment, as well as in residential buildings, for cooking or heating water.

People don’t think about the dangers correct operation household gas appliances. It is worth considering that very often when using gas in everyday life, for example when cooking, the mixture may not be completely burned, thereby creating a high probability of carbon monoxide forming in the air.

A large number of emergency situations occur due to the fault of the person himself; people do not know the basic rules when handling equipment that uses gas.

Typically, gas is under pressure, for example in cylinders, gas pipelines, and as soon as gas equipment is depressurized, upon contact with air, a gas-air explosive mixture begins to form. Gas leaks can be detected by a specific smell.

If you smell gas, you should:

  • Immediately stop using household gas equipment (block the supply routes);
  • inform others about precautionary measures;
  • if you are indoors, open windows, vents, doors for ventilation;
  • report a leak by calling 112, calling gas services by calling 04;
  • do not use electrical appliances until they are completely ventilated and leaks are eliminated (in other words, prevent sparks from forming);
  • warn neighbors;
  • leave the gas-contaminated room until emergency services arrive and the accident is eliminated.

Responsibility for the safe operation of working gas appliances in houses and apartments lies with the persons using gas. Let's look at the basic rules for the safe operation of household gas appliances.

Rules for using gas stoves

  1. Ensure the room is ventilated when preparing food;
  2. do not leave the cooking process unattended, as well as the burning of the flame;
  3. after finishing using gas, close the taps on gas appliances and in front of them;
  4. before turning on gas equipment at home, first bring the flame source to the burner, and then open the gas;
  5. if the flame does not come from all the holes through the burner, has a smoky color instead of bluish-violet, and flames are visible, you must stop using this type of equipment;
  6. check the serviceability of the gas stove regularly, having previously concluded an agreement with the service organization;
  7. do not make changes to the design of the equipment (self-repair);
  8. when not proper operation equipment, be sure to notify gas services.

Prohibited:

  • Use gas stoves for heating;
  • arrange rest rooms in places where gas equipment is located;
  • allow children and intoxicated people to access the equipment;
  • carry out equipment repairs independently, without the involvement of specialized organizations;
  • detect gas leaks using fire (use a soap solution).

Rules for using a gas boiler (Gasified stove)

The igniter may only be lit if the equipment is in good working order and there is draft in the chimney. When the pilot light is lit, open the tap on the main burner and light it.

If the burner goes out, close the tap, ventilate the firebox again and repeat all operations to ignite the main burner. After 3-5 minutes. After turning on the burner, check the draft again.

It is prohibited to use a gasified stove (boiler) with a faulty automation system.

Owners of gasified stoves must necessarily check the damper and the holes in it, which tend to become covered with soot, which can ultimately lead to carbon monoxide entering the room.

  • The window must be open during operation of the boiler (furnace).
  • Before igniting the boiler, do not forget to open the chimney damper.
  • Check the draft in the chimney before igniting heating appliances and during their operation.
  • Monitor the condition of the chimney: destruction of the masonry, the entry of foreign objects into it can cause a violation of draft and accumulation of carbon monoxide in the room. Unfavorable weather, freezing of the chimney heads can also lead to draft problems.
  • Prepare gas equipment for use in winter period: check the condition of chimneys and ventilation ducts; paint and secure gas pipelines; seal all service entries through building foundations to prevent gas penetration in case of damage underground gas pipelines. To troubleshoot problems, call a gas distribution organization mechanic.
  • Blockage of the chimney, destruction of its masonry, and the entry of foreign objects into the chimney can cause a violation of draft, while gas combustion products enter the room, which leads to poisoning carbon monoxide. Adverse weather conditions: freezing of the tips, strong wind, fog can also lead to disruption of draft in the chimney.

Safe operation of chimneys

  • We remind you that during periods when sharp fluctuations in outside air temperature occur, you must be extremely careful when using gas appliances with combustion products vented into the chimney: geysers, gas boilers, gasified stoves.
  • At strong wind, snowfall, fog, and during rain, the draft in the chimneys deteriorates or reverse draft may appear.
  • A draft problem is possible in any apartment where there are gas appliances that discharge combustion products into the chimney.
  • The reason for the lack of draft is faulty smoke exhaust ducts, lack of supply and exhaust ventilation, presence in chimneys construction waste, unauthorized connections of gas appliances to ventilation and smoke exhaust ducts, etc.
  • Do not forget to check the presence of draft before ignition, after ignition (after 3-5 minutes) and during operation of gas-using equipment.
  • Lack of draft during operation of a gas water heater, stove, or boiler entails carbon monoxide poisoning.
  • Residents of multi-apartment residential buildings should be especially attentive to the condition of smoke exhaust ducts. If signs of a malfunction in the operation of the smoke removal system are detected, the organization responsible for managing the apartment building must be immediately notified.
  • Remember! Owners of houses and apartments with personal property rights must ensure that smoke exhaust systems are checked in a timely manner!

Gas is not dangerous if the basic rules for using gas in everyday life are followed. Accordingly, neglecting the rules for using gas appliances can lead to serious consequences!

Rules for using individual gas cylinders

  1. The installation distance from the gas stove is at least 0.5 meters, and from heating devices is at least 1 meter, and if heating device works on an open fire, the distance increases and becomes at least 2 meters;
  2. If the owner of the premises does not have the opportunity to install a gas cylinder inside, then this must be done outside, in a metal cabinet with holes for ventilation;
  3. When changing an empty cylinder to a full one, it is prohibited to use fire sources, as well as electrical appliances in the room;
  4. Installation of faulty cylinders and gas equipment is prohibited.

Full article on this topic here:

  • Use gas after the expiration of the certificate for checking and cleaning smoke and ventilation ducts.

IMPORTANT: the use of liquefied gas cylinders in apartments can lead to an explosion, fire, and in the worst case, destruction of the house.

REMEMBER: design, installation, commissioning of gas equipment should be carried out by specialized organizations with this type activity license.

Independently install and put gas equipment into operation is strictly PROHIBITED.

Natural gas is a great benefit for humans. It is convenient and economical. For decades, it has brought warmth and comfort to our homes and is a source of warmth and comfort for us. However, natural gas requires a careful and responsible attitude. To prevent gas from causing tragic consequences, it is necessary to take care of gas equipment and follow the rules for the safe use of gas in everyday life.

1.How to use gas appliances correctly?

Use only working gas equipment.
Watch the color of the flame; if it is orange, it means the device is faulty, you need to call the gas workers.
Do not leave operating gas stoves and water heaters unattended, and do not allow flames to be blown out or covered by liquids.
Do not allow small children or persons who cannot control their actions to use gas equipment.

Remember! In order for the gas to burn, a constant flow of air is necessary. When you light a gas stove (water heater), the window should always be open!
If the gas supply suddenly stops, immediately close the burner taps of gas appliances and notify the emergency gas service by calling “04” or 104 (for appliances mobile communications).

2. Why do you need to check traction?

Lack of draft in smoke and ventilation ducts can lead to poisoning by gas combustion products.
Before each use gas water heaters, other devices that discharge combustion products into chimneys, it is necessary to check the presence of draft in the chimney.
You cannot change the smoke and ventilation systems, seal up ventilation ducts, attach chimneys of gas-using equipment to ventilation ducts, brick up or seal “pockets” and hatches intended for cleaning chimneys.
You cannot install additional dampers without permission in chimneys and on smoke exhaust pipes from water heaters.
Owners of individual residential buildings in winter time should periodically check the heads of chimneys in order to prevent them from freezing and clogging, as well as the occurrence of the “backdraft” effect, which often occurs in the autumn-winter period due to pressure drops.

Remember! In the absence of traction, the use of gas appliances is prohibited.

3. Why is it necessary to regularly maintain gas equipment?

For the safe use of gas in everyday life, the most important role is played not only by knowledge of the rules, but also by the serviceability of the gas equipment being used. To prevent a tragic situation from happening, it is necessary to carry out periodic maintenance of indoor gas equipment (VKGO) and indoor gas equipment (VDGO).
To do this, each owner of gas appliances is required to enter into a maintenance agreement with a specialized organization. He can do this personally or by delegating his powers. management company(HOA, etc.).

4.What are the consequences of unauthorized work on gas networks?

As a result of unauthorized connection of gas equipment, there is a high probability of gas leakage, and as a result, an explosion/fire hazard. In addition, unqualified installation (of a water heater) can lead to hydrate blockage: water entering the gas distribution network, and interruptions in gas supply in a residential building. This, in turn, will require serious and expensive emergency restoration work, with the possible relocation of sections of the gas pipeline.

Remember! It is strictly forbidden to carry out unauthorized gasification of a house (apartment), rearrangement, replacement and repair of gas appliances, cylinders and shut-off valves FORBIDDEN!

5.What does the law say?

Responsibility for safe use household gas appliances in apartments (households), as well as their maintenance in proper condition, is the responsibility of the owners and tenants of residential premises in accordance with Art. 210 Civil Code of the Russian Federation, Art. 30, 67 of the Housing Code of the Russian Federation. Violators of the Rules for ensuring the safe use and maintenance of indoor and intra-house gas equipment are liable in accordance with Article 9.23 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation.

6.What to do if you smell natural gas?

– Immediately stop using gas appliances;

– Turn off the taps on the appliances and in front of the appliances;

– Open the vents and windows to ventilate the room;

–Do not light an open fire, do not smoke, do not turn on or off electric lights and electrical appliances, do not use electric bells;

Call the emergency service by calling “04” or “104” (for mobile communication devices) from a non-gas-free room.
