What rules for installing a gas boiler in a private house must be observed. Installation of a gas boiler in a private house requirements: the sequence of work on the installation of gas boilers Installation of heating gas boiler

For heating a private house, the best option, of course, is a gas boiler. This heating unit has a high efficiency and allows you to quite smoothly and flexibly adjust the intensity of heating of residential premises, sometimes even without the use of additional thermostatic devices. Today, gas is considered the most profitable fuel in terms of efficiency, so the cost of such a boiler will quickly pay for its purchase and installation costs.

If you plan to install a gas boiler in a private house, the requirements for the room and the heater itself must be clarified in advance. Having received general information, you can be sure that you have to collect a lot of different documents and go around several instances. Therefore, it is worth preparing not only theoretically and technically, but even psychologically for these rather unpleasant, but, alas, necessary events.

The sequence of preparatory activities

Basic regulatory documentation for boiler installation

All these data can be found in SNiP (Building Norms and Rules) 31-02-2001, “Gas supply of a country house. Requirements and rules for the installation of gas equipment.

In addition to this document, you need to view additional ones containing information on the arrangement of boiler rooms and the rules for installing a boiler. They can also be found in among the "Building Norms and Rules":

  • SNiP 41-01-2003 "Heating, ventilation and air conditioning".
  • SNiP 21-01-97 "Fire safety of buildings and structures".
  • SNiP 2.04.01-85 "Internal water supply and sewerage of buildings".

To equip a boiler room in a private house, you should study SNiP 2.04.08-87.

How is a boiler room equipped in a private house?

In your own house, a separate room is usually allocated for heating equipment. What requirements should the boiler room meet? - detailed information about this is set out in a separate publication of our portal.

Coordination of the installation of a gas boiler

In order to install a gas boiler in a private house or apartment, it will not be enough to study the SNiP documents. First you need to obtain technical conditions that will become the basis for organizing further work on connecting equipment to gas pipelines.

To do this, the landlord submits an application to the local gas supply service, which indicates the estimated gas consumption required for use in a particular building for heating and for other needs. This parameter is calculated approximately on the basis of SNiP 31-02, clause 9.1.3, which shows the average daily gas volume for a single-family house:

– gas stove (cooking) – 0.5 m³/day;

- hot water supply, that is, the use of a flowing gas water heater () - 0.5 m³ / day;

- heating using a domestic gas unit with a connected water circuit (for central Russia) - from 7 to 12 m³ / day.

In the local organization that controls the gas supply and installation of boiler equipment, the request is considered by specialists. For the applicant, a document is drawn up with technical conditions or with a reasoned refusal. The review process may take from one week to a month, depending on the efficiency of the work of this controlling service.

If the request is satisfied, then the technical conditions are issued, which must be fully implemented during the installation of gas equipment. This document will simultaneously be a permission to carry out the relevant work.

It is necessary to know for sure that the installation of gas equipment without obtaining technical specifications is illegal. In addition, uncoordinated independent installation of the boiler is very unsafe, especially in cases where such work will be carried out in a multi-storey building. Sad examples of this, alas, are plentiful.

Installation project development

When the technical conditions are received, you can proceed to the preparation of the installation project.

The project is developed taking into account all the requirements specified in the technical specifications. This also includes a scheme for laying gas communications: for a private house - along the site to the entrance to the residential building, indicating this point in the drawing, and for an apartment - from the entrance to the gas supply pipe to the point of connection to the heating boiler

The development of the project should be carried out only by specialists-designers who have a license to carry out work of this type. As a rule, an organization dealing with gas supply in a particular region (settlement) has a design department, where all such surveys, calculations and their graphic design are carried out.

Project approval

Further, the finished project is sent for approval to the department of the organization that controls the gas supply to the house where it will be installed. The period of coordination of the submitted documents depends on the complexity of the project scheme, and can take from one week to three months.

The following documents with the characteristics of the boiler equipment must be attached to the project for the installation of the boiler and the supply of the gas pipeline submitted for approval:

  • Technical passport of the gas boiler.
  • Instructions for its operation.
  • Certificates of compliance with technical and sanitary requirements.
  • Expertise data on the compliance of this unit with all safety requirements.

These documents are issued to the buyer by the seller together with the boiler, and they are issued by the manufacturer of boiler equipment.

If the project has not been approved, then in addition to a reasoned refusal, the applicant is given a list of the actions that must be taken to obtain a positive conclusion.

If the project is approved, it is certified accordingly, which means that it is already possible to carry out practical work on the installation of gas heating equipment.

Basic requirements for the boiler room

A separate room must be provided for the installation of gas equipment with a capacity of 30 kW or more. It must comply with all existing standards and regulations. Quite often, they try to choose one of the rooms in the basement or basement for the boiler room, but you need to know that such a gas boiler installation is only allowed for single-family private residential buildings.

A boiler of any capacity can be installed in a private house, since it is usually placed in a room attached to the house, thus making it possible to heat not only living quarters, but also utility rooms.

General requirements

The main requirements for the boiler room are as follows:

  • The area of the room for the installation of one boiler must be at least 4 m². At the same time, the total number of boilers in one room can never be more than two.
  • The ceiling height of the room is not less than 2200÷2500 mm.
  • The window, which is obligatory in the boiler room for natural light, must be sized for every 10 m³ of room volume 0.3 m² of window area, but in any case not less than 0.5 m².
  • The width of the door opening must be at least 800 mm.
  • The distance between the front door and the boiler cannot be less than 1000 mm, but it is better if this interval is 1300÷1500 mm.
  • In order to be able to carry out maintenance and repair work, the necessary free space must be provided in front of the boiler, which must be at least 1300 mm.
  • The boiler must be installed steadily and in a strictly horizontal position - this will minimize possible vibrations and noises.
  • The floor in the boiler room must be made of non-combustible material and be perfectly flat.
  • The walls must also be made of non-combustible materials, and the surfaces near the boiler walls can be additionally insulated with heat-resistant materials.
  • Cold water must be supplied to the boiler room. In the floor of the room, it is necessary to equip a system for draining the coolant into the sewer.
  • Electrical sockets must have a ground loop, as some elements of the boiler, such as an ignition or a pump, are connected to the power supply.
  • It is necessary to provide access to the chimney - in particular - to the inspection window - to control the patency of the channel and the possibility of cleaning.

Ventilation and chimney systems

Ventilation and exhaust systems for gas combustion products in the boiler room must be installed in compliance with the rules for installing gas equipment, since a malfunction or inefficient operation of these systems can either lead to equipment inoperability, or, even worse, to an emergency and even explosive situation.

Prices for chimneys and pipes

chimneys

The following requirements are imposed on ventilation and chimney by regulatory documents:

  • Ventilation and chimney ducts must be separated.

  • For fresh air to enter the boiler room, supply ventilation must be provided. The entrance window is made at the bottom of the outer wall or front door. The size of the ventilation window should be not less than 1/30 of the total area of the room, but not less than 80 mm² per 1 kW of installed power - for air supply from the street, and not less than 300 mm² per 1 kW if air supply comes from another premises.
  • Ventilation ducts must always be open, as air must circulate constantly.
  • The boiler is recommended to be installed as close as possible to the chimney.
  • A chimney arranged in a wall must have two inlets:

- the main one, for the installation of a chimney pipe;

- revision, located below the first not less than 250 mm - this channel is intended for technological cleaning.

  • The exhaust outlet of the chimney must not have a section smaller than the outlet pipe of the boiler itself.
  • The chimney should not have more than three bends or turns.
  • The chimney is made of stainless or carbon steel sheet. The use of asbestos-concrete pipes or other pipes made of laminated materials is allowed only at a distance of at least 500 mm from the boiler chimney.

  • In order for the operation of the boiler to be safe and the heating system itself to be efficient, favorable conditions must be created to maintain normal draft. Therefore, it is very important to calculate both the total height of the chimney and its location above the roof surface so that the head does not fall into the zone of the so-called wind backwater.

Gas is considered the most profitable type of fuel in terms of efficiency. Even if a branch of the gas main is not connected to the holiday village, many owners of country houses use gas tanks, which, from the point of view of efficiency, is most often more profitable than using other types of fuel. In any case, you need to know the rules for connecting a gas boiler in a private house, which strictly regulate all the nuances of installation and operation of equipment.

A modern gas boiler with automation is a rather complex system, the installation and debugging of which requires specialized knowledge Source sovkalmykia.ru

Can I install the equipment myself?

In short, the installation of a gas boiler in a private house can be carried out by any person, but the commissioning of equipment - acceptance and testing should be carried out by specialists from the gas service, connecting a gas boiler in a private house and operating it without their permission is impossible.

It is most reliable to entrust the installation of gas equipment to qualified representatives of a specialized organization. Only they will be able to carry out the necessary work competently, in accordance with the requirements of SNiP, and ensure the safe operation of the equipment. In addition, a competent specialist always works under a contract, which indicates who, when and what kind of work was done.

The main types of gas boilers

Manufacturers of gas equipment offer customers different types of heating boilers operating on blue fuel. They are designed for heating any area and by type of installation are divided into floor and wall.

The first of these are powerful, reliable and durable "flagship models" designed for installation in homes with above-average footage. There is only one common drawback of such models - they will have to equip a separate room.

Source vsemixfight.ru

Wall-mounted gas boilers are an excellent alternative for a small private house: they do not need a separate room - such devices are compact and versatile. In addition, their installation does not impose increased conditions on the bearing capacity of the wall - only a layer of non-combustible material is required between the boiler and the base.

Requirements for the boiler room in the house

If the boiler capacity is more than 30 kW, then it must be installed in a separate room. All information on how to install a gas boiler in a private house is given in the SNiP standards, where there are clear requirements for arranging a boiler room for heating equipment powered by fuel combustion.

You can place the boiler room in the attic, in the basement (basement) or simply in a separate room of the house. In this case, a mandatory requirement is free access to the room, sufficient illumination and the arrangement of a rigid base.

In addition, the installation of a gas boiler in a private house has the following requirements for a boiler room:

    volume at least 13.5 m³ for boilers with a capacity of 30-60 kW and over 15 m³ for models with a higher capacity;

    comfortable access to the equipment.

Properly designed boiler room for a private house Source teploknam.ru

    In one hour ventilation should provide three-time air exchange;

    walls and floors are made of non-combustible material;

Important! Heating boilers are located at a distance of at least 0.5 m from combustible surfaces. And partitions meet the fire resistance standard RE1 45, that is, they must resist open fire for 45 minutes.

Requirements for a boiler room in a separate building

The advantages of a separate boiler house are increased security, reduced noise level and the possibility of using the vacated area for other purposes. The disadvantage will be an increase in the cost of the heating system device, since it will be necessary to pull an additional heat-insulated pipeline branch.

At the same time, such requirements for such boilers are the following:

    separate foundation;

    concreted base for the boiler;

    forced ventilation, which should provide three air exchanges for an hour;

    meeting the requirements for sizes boiler room;

    installation is allowed in one room no more than two heating devices;

    doors to the street should open outward;

On our website you can find contacts of construction companies that offer house design and engineering services. You can directly communicate with representatives by visiting the exhibition of houses "Low-Rise Country".

    wall surfaces and ceilings are made of non-combustible material;

    Availability windows with transom for daylight and emergency ventilation - the area of the window opening should be suitable for the volume of the room (0.03 m 2 per 1 m³);

    Availability chimney if it is needed for the installed device (for wall-mounted devices with a capacity of less than 30 kW, it is allowed to lead the coaxial pipe through the wall).

A sewer pipe is also connected to the boiler so that water can be drained from the system when it is replaced.

Basic requirements for chimney and ventilation ducts

The room where the gas boiler is located must meet the necessary requirements, while not only the width and length of the room are regulated according to the power of the equipment, but also the size to the ceiling, which must be at least 2 m.

A ventilation duct must be installed in the boiler room; for this, an opening with a cross section of at least 0.02 m 2 is provided.

The location of gas boilers is related to the installation conditions of the chimney. At the same time, the parameters of the latter (height, channel area) relative to the installed gas equipment must be strictly observed.

The size of the internal section of the smoke outlet pipe is made the same or slightly larger than that of the device. According to NPB-98, inside the chimney opening, the air flow speed should be 15-20 m / s, and such draft can be provided with a chimney pipe height of about 5 meters.

Important! Smoke must not be discharged into the duct provided for ventilation. In boiler rooms that have a standard exhaust, air exchange must take place due to the incoming flow from outside the room and, in part, as a result of its penetration from adjacent rooms.

Gas appliance in a private house: requirements and basic installation steps

For proper installation of the unit, you first need to study the regulatory documentation and the rules for performing these works. They talk about the features of installing gas appliances for the installation of a heating system.

What type of boiler would not have to be installed, it is imperative to comply with the requirements of certain norms and rules, such as:

    SNiP 41-01-2003 on heating, ventilation and air conditioning.

    SNiP 42-01-2002 about the gas distribution system.

    SNiP 21-01-97 about fire safety.

    SNiP 2.04.08-87 about the arrangement of boiler rooms.

The provisions of SNiP contain all the necessary information for the installation and start-up of a gas boiler. Source optolov.ru

With regard to these conditions, in order to install a gas boiler in a house, you must first obtain a regulatory act that gives permission to carry out work on connecting gas appliances. And in order to purchase technical specifications, it is necessary to submit an application to the local gas service, which must be answered within a month.

It's important to know! Technical conditions are official permission to carry out work on the installation of a gas appliance. Unauthorized installation of a gas heater without specifications is illegal and unsafe for the homeowner.

Boiler installation

After the development of project documentation and receipt of an act with permission to install a gas boiler, it is installed, which is carried out in several stages:

    Preparing a solid foundation. A concrete screed is poured onto the floor, or a sheet of metal is placed. The boiler must be installed strictly parallel to the floor.

    Chimney connection and traction test.

    Accession heating system pipes. In this case, a fine filter must be installed, which is usually placed in the return pipeline before the boiler. And on both sides of the filter element put ball valves.

    When installing a double-circuit gas boiler in a private house, it is necessary connect it to the plumbing. It is desirable to insert the supply pipe from above, and the outgoing line - from below.

    Connection to the gas pipeline. This can only be done by a gas service specialist.

Video description

The installation of a gas boiler is clearly shown in the video:

On this, the most necessary work is completed. Boilers with a closed combustion chamber are an exception. These devices are electronically controlled, and they are launched simultaneously with the filling of the system, since without creating a certain pressure in the expansion tank, the boiler will not work.

Operating rules

For the safe use of gas, the connection scheme for a gas boiler in a private house must be observed. In addition, the following must be terms:

    Perstart operation of the boiler only at normal humidity.

    Technical condition control by gas service specialists at least once a year.

    Filter installation fine cleaning on the return pipeline of the heating system.

    natural or artificial ventilation in the boiler room.

    Conformity thrust in the chimney pipe requirements (10-20 m/s).

In the event of a leak, notify the emergency gas service promptly.

About the features of the operation of gas boilers, see the video:

Maintenance

Preventive measures for routine inspection of gas boilers include the following types of jobs:

    Faucet testing external and internal gas pipeline (disassembly, lubrication).

    Inspection of thermostats on floor boilers.

    Flushing or replacement filter elements.

    Injector revision, checking the tightness of the door, the operation of the igniter on floor-standing appliances.

    Traction control in the chimney.

    Checking in winter ice at the coaxial pipe of wall-mounted boilers.

All components that have been worn out during operation must be replaced.

On a note! After the repair is completed and before starting the heating system, the gas service worker checks the tightness of all connections in the line. Usually a soapy solution is used for this.

A competent preventive inspection will not only increase the life of the equipment in operation, but also reduce gas consumption.

Conclusion

At first glance, the installation of gas boilers in a private house is not the most difficult, the requirements for compliance with standards and safety are high. Installation of a heating system with a gas boiler requires knowledge of the relevant rules and regulations, and the final check and connection should be carried out exclusively by gas service specialists. Trust the professionals and then the gas boiler will serve you faithfully and provide warmth and comfort in your home.

Recently, for heating country houses, boilers that run on natural gas are increasingly used. The principle of their operation is to heat the coolant. Gas boilers have a number of advantages: environmental friendliness, compactness, noiselessness, ease of operation, the ability to install in a private house.

The degree of heating of the whole house depends on the performance of the boiler. But at the same time, the gas that is used as a coolant is a very explosive substance, so the choice of this equipment must be taken seriously, and the existing rules must be observed when installing a gas boiler.

Do-it-yourself installation of gas boilers is a rather complicated, time-consuming and responsible business. Employees of gas supply organizations receive the necessary certificates, the presence of which, however, only authorizes access directly to the gas pipeline.

A competent and hardworking person can do anything! Moreover, almost any man can handle the installation of the boiler, the supply of water and the connection of electricity.

In addition, self-installation of heating devices can save a lot of money.

Main types

Gas boilers are classified according to various criteria: purpose, power output, type of thrust and installation method. Single-circuit boilers are installed exclusively for heating the house, double-circuit boilers allow not only to warm the premises, but also to provide the house with water with the possibility of heating it.

Low-power boilers are regulated according to a single-stage principle, units of medium productivity - according to a two-stage principle. In high-performance boilers, modulated power control is usually provided.

Boilers of closed type operate on ventilation draft. There are also gas boilers with natural draft - open type, or atmospheric.

The simplest boiler, the so-called "water heater" consists of a gas burner and a heat exchanger. Water and gas are connected to it, and the exhaust is discharged into the chimney. But even the installation of such a simple system requires obtaining the appropriate permission! Let us consider in detail the installation process of a wall-mounted and floor-standing gas boiler of a more complex design.

Installation of a wall-mounted boiler

  1. We protect the section of the wall where the boiler will be located with a layer of refractory material, leaving a gap of 4.5 cm between it and the wall.
  2. We prepare the boiler for installation. Under a large pressure of water, we clean the walls of the inlet tubes from the small debris left after assembly.
  3. We install a filter and valves on the water supply pipe - before and after the filter.
  4. Installing a chimney. Certain requirements are also imposed on this device: the diameter is not less than that indicated in the manual for the gas boiler; the section is similar to the chimney opening of the boiler; elevation above the roof ridge by at least 0.5 m (section 6 of SNiP 41-01-2003, section 4 and Appendix 6 of MDS 40-2.2000). It is best to use a steel cylindrical chimney with a cleaning hole.
  5. Checking traction. In case of deterioration, the automation that modern boilers are equipped with should stop the gas supply.
  6. With the help of a steel pipe and a special drive for its installation, we tie the boiler into the gas pipeline. To perform this work, it is necessary to invite specialists from the gas service.
  7. We connect the gas boiler to the power supply and connect an automatic device for overload protection.

Installing a floor boiler

  1. We are building a strong pedestal that can withstand the weight of a cast-iron boiler. In the annex, for this, we fill in a concrete screed, in other rooms we put a piece of galvanized sheet iron on the wooden floor.
  2. We install the gas boiler with our own hands, controlling its position with the help of a level.
  3. We connect the boiler to the chimney and, if it is not equipped with forced draft, check the draft.
  4. We connect the boiler with the internal heating system. At the same time, to protect the unit from blockages, we install a coarse filter, placing it after the outlet line that fills the system with water, before entering the return line boiler.
  5. We connect the double-circuit boiler to the water supply, making a tie-in closer to the house, before branching.
  6. With the help of a steel pipe, we tie the boiler into the gas main, as in the previous case, with the participation of specialists.

Operating rules

In private houses, however, as in any other objects, gas boilers are allowed to be installed and operated only in dry rooms. High humidity prevents the dispersion of foreign substances in the air, including gas vapors. Therefore, the requirements for furnaces and the rules for installing gas boilers are so strict (see above).

To increase the performance of the heat exchanger, it is necessary to protect it from dirt and dust with a coarse filter. To improve the quality of water, you also need to use filters.

Before the start or at the end of the heating season, it is recommended to carry out maintenance of gas equipment. And, in order to avoid dangerous situations, you need to do this regularly!

Maintenance

During the maintenance process, the condition of the chimney and the proper functioning of the ventilation are checked, the filters are cleaned and washed, as well as the entire system. To do this, you can use detergents that effectively remove various deposits.

Do not forget about cleaning the burner. Worn parts must be replaced without fail! Before starting the system, carefully check the tightness of all connections.

Compliance with established standards, proper connection of a gas boiler, operation in accordance with the rules and timely maintenance will increase the life of the entire system, while reducing the amount of fuel consumed.

Most modern private houses have gas boilers. This device can be called affordable, safe and economical, but it belongs to the group of expensive and difficult to install products.

Gas boilers are divided into two groups: single-circuit and double-circuit. The first type is used to heat the room, the second type can simultaneously heat the room and heat the water. Therefore, it is important to know the rule of how to install a double-circuit gas boiler in the house. Also, the equipment differs in power and type of installation.

How to choose a boiler

An important rule for installing a gas boiler in a private house is to determine the required power. Low productivity does not allow to obtain the desired effect. Too much power is not economically beneficial and dangerous, since the acidic condensate resulting from constant temperature changes has a negative effect on some parts of the apparatus.

To determine the power of the boiler, it is necessary to divide the area of the house by 10 and multiply by the appropriate coefficient, the value of which depends on the region of residence. For example, for the central regions, a value of 1.2-1.5 is used, for the southern regions - from 0.7 to 0.9, in regions with a predominance of cold - 1.5-2. From this we can conclude that for a house of 120 m 2 located in the south of the country, it is enough to purchase an apparatus with a capacity of 8-10 kW.

With the help of special devices, you can change the value of the boiler power. At the same time, low-capacity devices have a single-stage type regulator, middle-class heating appliances are characterized by a two-stage adjustment, high-capacity boilers have a modulated regulator.

Gas boilers can be wall and floor. Depending on this, the installation of the device has its own subtleties. In addition, the direct installation of gas equipment in a private house requires mandatory compliance with certain rules in accordance with the Sanitary Norms and Rules.

In particular, we are talking about the following:

  • SNiP 41-01-2003 "Heating, ventilation and air conditioning".
  • SNiP 31-01 of 2003 "Residential and multi-apartment buildings".
  • SNiP 42-01-2002 "Gas distribution systems".

Rules for installing gas appliances

The following rules for installing a gas boiler are presented for the room:

  • To install the boiler, a separate room is required, which can be located on one of the floors of the house, in the basement or attic. It is not allowed to install equipment in residential premises and a bathroom.
  • the boiler room in which the gas boiler will be installed must have certain dimensions. For example, for boilers with a power of less than 30 kW, which are able to cover all the thermal needs of a private house, a room with an area of more than 4 m 2 is required. Boilers with a power of more than 30 kW, but not more than 60 kW, can be installed in a room with an area of 13.5 m 2. For equipment with a power exceeding 60 kW, an area of up to 15 m 2 is required. Boilers with a closed combustion chamber can be installed in rooms of any area, starting from the established minimum value.
  • The ceilings in the boiler room should be high enough, at least 2.5 meters.
  • In a room with gas equipment, a prerequisite is the presence of a window, 30 cm of which falls on every 10 m 2.
  • The door to the boiler room must be more than 0.8 meters wide (read also: "Installation of a gas boiler room in a private house - requirements, standards").
  • A gap of 2.5 cm should be provided between the upper level of the door and the main opening.
  • Combustible finishing materials must not be used in the boiler room.
  • In a room with gas equipment, the installation of a raised floor or false ceiling is prohibited.
  • Be sure to have a hole for natural air flow. Moreover, for one unit of boiler power, at least 8 cm 2 holes are required.
  • It is imperative to conduct water to the boiler room for the installation of a double-circuit gas boiler.
  • Maintaining the optimum value of humidity, since with an excess of moisture in the boiler room, the escape of gas vapor is difficult.
  • Installation of ventilation in the upper part of the boiler room. See also: "".

Details and parts of the equipment must also comply with the regulations for installing a gas boiler in a private house:

  • Free access to the device from any side.
  • Use only metal gas pipes.
  • Mandatory presence of a gas meter.
  • Electric boilers require mandatory grounding.
  • Parallel installation of gas analyzer and automatic valve. The first device will give a warning about a possible gas leak, the second will stop the gas supply if a leak is detected.

Chimney Requirements

Installation of chimneys or gas outlets must be carried out in compliance with the installation parameters of a gas boiler in a private house:

  • Gas combustion products must be discharged through a separate channel.
  • The horizontal section of the chimney should be no more than 3 meters.
  • The design of the chimney cannot have more than 3 bends.
  • For a certain boiler output, an appropriate flue diameter is required.
  • The cross section of the chimney must correspond to the diameter of the hole to which the flue is connected.
  • The top point of the chimney should be located 0.5 meters above the level of the ridge.

Most modern boilers with a closed combustion chamber are sold complete with a coaxial chimney. Such devices can be installed in a room of any size, since the combustion air is taken from the street.

The listed requirements for the installation of gas equipment, including the installation of a double-circuit boiler in a private house, may have additions and clarifications in accordance with the region of use. In addition, gas supply may not be central, but bottled. Also, the rules can be adjusted depending on the material used to build the house and floors.

Design

All this leads to the fact that before installing a gas boiler, it is better to consult a specialist who will inspect the structure and identify the corresponding shortcomings.

To obtain permission to install a gas boiler, you must do the following:

  • Write an application of the appropriate form to the organization that supplies gas. This document becomes a kind of permission to carry out preparatory construction work. In most cases, permission is issued no later than two weeks from the date of registration of the application.
  • After that, it is necessary to make a project, licensed specialists are engaged in its manufacture.
  • The finished project is subject to mandatory coordination with the gas supply organization. The complete package includes an application, project documentation and documents for gas equipment. It can take up to 3 months to get approved.

Installation in a private house

Installation of floor and wall equipment is carried out according to different schemes.

The floor boiler installation technology includes the following steps:

  • Preparation of a solid base capable of withstanding the weight of the boiler. You can pour a concrete screed or lay a sheet of galvanized iron.
  • Checking the level of installed equipment. The boiler must be strictly parallel to the floor level.
  • Connecting to the gas outlet and checking the draft.
  • Connecting the pipes of the heating system with the mandatory installation of a hard water filter. In addition, it is required to install ball valves on all branch pipes and shut-off equipment on both sides of the filter.
  • When installing a double-circuit boiler in a private house, a connection is made to the plumbing system. In this case, the supply pipe should be located at the top, the return pipe - at the bottom.
  • Connection to the gas pipeline. This item is performed only by a master gasman, independent work of such a plan is strictly prohibited.
  • Connection to the power supply network.

There are certain rules for installing a wall-mounted gas boiler:

  • Choose the strongest wall or partition and protect it with refractory material.
  • The boiler is fixed, maintaining a distance of about 5 cm from the plane of the wall. You should also retreat from other walls and the ceiling by 50 cm, from the floor by 80 cm. The boiler should be parallel to the floor level.
  • Before installation, clean the walls of the inlet pipes from debris by supplying water under pressure.
  • Install the filter on the water supply pipe. Install locking mechanisms on both sides of the filter.
  • Install a chimney, if provided for by the project, and check the draft.
  • Connect the device to the gas pipeline by inviting the master of the gas service for this purpose.
  • Connect to power supply.

Both options provide for filling the system with water before starting up with a preliminary shutdown of the device. To avoid the formation of air bubbles, water must be introduced into the system very slowly.

In addition, the procedure for installing a gas boiler in a private house provides for temperature restrictions. Installation of a gas stake can be carried out at temperatures from +5 to +35 degrees.

Maintenance of gas boilers during operation

Inspection of gas equipment should be carried out at least twice a year. At the same time, one of them falls on the period before the heating season. Gas service specialists check the tightness of the chimney and its performance, the condition of the ventilation system, perform maintenance and repair work.

Today, a person can use one of the many different ways to provide heat to his home. The most common option is, of course, the installation of wall-mounted gas boilers. Despite the relatively recent appearance of wall-mounted devices, they have gained quite a high popularity. Sometimes such devices are simply called mini-boiler rooms, because a lot of very important elements are placed in a small building. But for the equipment to work correctly, you need to know how to install a gas wall-mounted boiler.

Wall type gas boilers are the most popular

Design and application of wall-mounted gas boilers

Inside such a boiler are located:

  • heat exchanger, which is equipped with a boiler and burner control device;
  • circulation pump;
  • expansion tank;
  • safety system.

Also there are many other elements. But when is the best time to install such boilers? Firstly, such a boiler is more suitable for installation in cottages and country houses that are equipped with individual heating systems. Since this kind of boilers have 12-42 kW of power, and one kilowatt is able to heat 10 square meters of space, the list of buildings in which the device can be used is very extensive. So such a boiler will work effectively in rooms with an area of and 450 squares. But the main advantage of a wall-mounted boiler is its price, which is almost two times lower compared to floor counterparts.

Secondly, the ease of installation of equipment should be added to the advantages, which has a good effect on the cost of installing a boiler in a house. Thirdly, do not forget about such a component as appearance, which allows you to integrate a wall-mounted boiler into almost any interior. Fourth, it is worth noting the relatively small size of the device.

Among the promising areas for the development of this kind of boilers, heating in apartments located in urban multi-storey buildings should be noted. The reasons for this are quite simple, because the repair of heating mains through which the coolant circulates is a very costly business. In addition, the loss of thermal energy here is much greater than when using boilers in each apartment. If the owner of the apartment will have his own boiler, then he will have the opportunity to set the temperature that he considers comfortable.

Features of installing wall-mounted boilers

Installation of such a heater is a rather laborious process that must be carried out by specialists in compliance with all the rules for installing wall-mounted gas boilers. Boilers can have one or two circuits, and in the first case, the boiler will provide the house with heat, and in the second - also with hot water. Such boilers can be divided into turbocharged and atmospheric. In any case, depending on the technical characteristics of wall-mounted boilers, they will have different installation features.

Installation of a gas boiler must be carried out by a specialist in compliance with all rules

For example, if we talk about double-circuit gas boilers, then they require more attention during installation, because they connect both heating and hot water supply lines to them. Thus, when connecting hot water to the boiler, you need to make sure that all plugs have already been removed from the system. Among other things, it is worth paying attention to the junction of pipes. After all, the fittings at the junctions must have seals, and the threaded connections must be tightened as tightly as possible.

It is worth remembering that there are boilers with open and closed combustion chambers.

  • So, in the first case, smoke and combustion products are removed naturally.
  • In a closed chamber, a fan is used to remove smoke.

For boilers with an open chamber, combustion air is taken directly from the room. But for it to work properly, it is worth following some recommendations.

Before connecting the boiler to a previously installed chimney, you need to make sure that it is clean, because during operation, dirt can fall off and block the exit of combustion products. This is a dangerous situation that can end in serious problems. The connection of such a boiler with the existing chimney in the room must be carried out exclusively with a metal pipe that is resistant to high temperatures, mechanical wear and aggressive media such as combustion products and condensate.

After installing the boiler, it is necessary to check the correct connection of the outlet pipes.. Before turning, at the outlet of the boiler, the vertical section of the connecting section must have a length of more than two pipe diameters. After this vertical section, the pipe must have an ascent, the slope of which must be directed towards the boiler. The connection of the boiler to the chimney should be carried out with the shortest length of the pipe.

Closed combustion chamber

Speaking of boilers with a closed chamber, it is worth mentioning that the combustion products are removed here with the help of a fan. Air for the combustion process is taken from the street. Such a boiler does not need to be connected to an individual chimney. It can be vented to a collective chimney or with a coaxial chimney that is built into the outer wall. The main thing is to ensure that during the installation process, dirt does not get into the installation site of the fan. It is better to check this place before starting.

A boiler with a closed combustion chamber does not need to be connected to an individual chimney

It is worth making sure that the fresh air intake pipe is at a height of at least 220 centimeters from the ground, and that it protrudes at least 18 mm from the wall. It is worth paying attention to the position of the pipes of the chimney system, which must necessarily have a downward slope. This is done so that the condensate formed during combustion is removed from the chimney. The space between the pipe and the wall must be carefully sealed. This will prevent rainwater and dirt from entering the house through this hole.

It must be taken into account that there should be no obstacles at least 15 centimeters in front of the gas outlet pipe. Structures located above the pipe should be at a height of 25 centimeters or more. Otherwise, the flow of exhaust smoke will be disturbed, which may lead to incorrect operation of the boiler or cause an emergency. And finally, you need to make sure that the air outlet pipe is not loose or clogged.

Before installing a wall-mounted boiler, you must notify your local gas supply authority of your installation plans. In the same place, all the necessary actions and the scheme for installing a wall-mounted gas boiler are coordinated.

Your new boiler

When buying, be sure to check the completeness of the delivery. The device after unpacking should have a perfect appearance, and the instruction manual should come with it. If any of the parts or components are missing, it is imperative to contact the suppliers and solve the problems that have arisen.

It is necessary to check the technical characteristics indicated on the plate on the boiler itself and on the equipment box. It is also worth making sure that these indicators correspond to the numbers indicated in the instruction manual. Before installation, it will be necessary to clarify whether the device will work normally with the type of gas supplied.

How to install?

The boiler must be prepared for installation. Before installing a gas wall-mounted boiler, it is worth flushing the pipes from foreign particles. Once in the system, they can disable it.

Do not forget about the preparation of the heating system, which boils down to flushing radiators and lines. The wall-mounted boiler is installed exclusively on a flat vertical surface that is able to withstand the weight of the boiler itself and the additional equipment connected to it. Here it will also be necessary to take into account the material from which the wall is made, as well as the bearing capacity of all fasteners.

If the boiler is installed on a combustible wall, it is necessary to install a sheet of material under it that does not burn and has a thickness of more than 3 millimeters, while the boiler itself is placed at a distance of 5 cm or more from the wall.

It is very important to organize separate wiring for a wall-mounted gas boiler with a stabilizer and a switch. In addition, this system must be provided with grounding. The boiler must hang on the wall evenly, without distortions.

Before carrying out installation work, it is worth providing the space necessary for installation on the wall. Between the boiler and the ceiling, the distance should not be less than 500 mm, and from the boiler to the floor, it is worth ensuring a distance of 800 mm. The first start-up, as well as the adjustment of the boiler and all related equipment, must be carried out in the presence of a specialist.
