To install the convector, as a rule, one of the outer walls is selected. The device is mounted at a height of 10-15 cm from the floor. Installation of the convector involves making a special hole in the wall through which a double, or coaxial, pipe will be output. It is included with the device. Similar design allows you to isolate the combustion process. The outside air, which is necessary for combustion, enters through one pipe, and the combustion products are removed outside the room through another. As a result, the safety of using the convector is ensured. To organize the heat exchange process, a heat exchanger is provided, which is located in the second circuit of the device. Various options convector designs suggest that convection can occur naturally or forced. In the second case, a fan is used to organize air circulation. The temperature in the room is quickly set at the set level, and it is maintained automatically.

Modern gas convectors, being heating devices of independent action, can serve as a replacement for conventional heating systems. Since these devices do not have a water circuit, their operation is not associated with a risk of freezing. Convectors are easy to install and dismantle, provide fast air heating, and are safe in operation. It is not surprising that many consumers decide to buy a gas convector today.

Today, when most of us began to take into account our funds, trying to find a solution to any issue as cheaply as possible, heating equipment (appliances) appeared, with which the technology of space heating and heat generation does not require the creation of boiler rooms and piping water heating systems, no connection to the power grid is required, and with all this, whether it is a country house or a summer house, a bathhouse, a stall and a pavilion, a garage, a warehouse or a gas filling station, an office, a cultural and community center or production, there is no burnout of oxygen, which is so necessary for all of us, and there is the possibility of controlling the temperature in each room, room. All that is needed in this case is the presence of gas, natural (network), or liquefied (balloon) and the device itself.

What is a "gas convector"?
Outwardly, gas convectors are similar to water heating radiators. They are also installed on the outer walls of premises, usually under windows.
Almost any adult can independently install the convector and prepare it for launch. The entire installation comes down to making a hole in the wall and following the steps outlined in the Installation Guide. The marking of places for holes is made according to a template, it is the back wall of the convector, on which everything else is attached: a heat exchanger assembly with a gas burner unit (where the gas-air mixture is prepared and burned), a system of 2 pipes "pipe in pipe" and a decorative grille .
You can install one or more gas convectors, depending on the number of rooms in which you want to create comfortable conditions to live, work or store. Convectors are mounted permanently on the wall of the heated room.

Consider, first, the option of heating from a liquefied gas cylinder, as the most autonomous, fairly inexpensive and quick option (in terms of installation, connection and receiving required heat).
For normal year-round heating of a room up to 20 m2, you will need a 2.5 kW convector (a 5.5 kW gas convector can heat rooms up to 45-50 m2). If heating is not performed in winter period, and the convector will "rest" - for 1 m2, even less power is enough.
In addition to gas convectors, you will also need: liquefied gas with valve, reducer, fittings for gas distribution(pipes or hoses, a couple of fittings, elbows and adapters), and possibly a place to store cylinders.
pressures at outside temperatures up to -30°Household cylinders for liquefied gas are produced in volumes of 5, 12, 27 and 50 liters. With a sufficiently long heating period or, in the case of installing several gas convectors, it is most advisable to use 50-liter cylinders. These cylinders are always equipped with a valve. The remaining sizes of cylinders are produced either with a built-in valve device for a pressure regulator, the so-called "frog", or with a valve that assumes threaded connection with gearbox. From the point of view of safety and reliability in operation, it is better to purchase cylinders with a valve and a threaded reducer RDSG 1-1.2. When heating in winter with the placement of the cylinder on the street, it is recommended to use imported gearboxes, the quality of which has been tested in practice - guaranteed reliable performance in the required range.
Cylinders can be installed inside the house in the kitchen, pantry, on the terrace. However, from the point of view of safety, air purity and the release of useful areas, it makes sense to install cylinders with a capacity of 50 liters in special metal cabinets made of non-combustible materials (or a protective casing) at outer wall at home. However, indoors (according to regulations) you can install no more than 2 cylinders of 27 liters each. each. The placement of cylinders inside residential buildings with more than 2 floors is also not allowed according to existing regulatory documents, the updating of which has just begun.
Gas distribution from the cylinder to the convectors is recommended to be carried out steel pipes. The pipe from the cylinder to the convector must be completely curved without corners or other threaded connections. In places where the pipe branches, the connection is made by welding.

AT last years distribution is received by internal gas pipelines made of special reinforced plastic pipe or copper. But in normative documents(SNiPakh, Rules of Gosgortekhnadzor) these innovations have not yet been reflected. It is allowed to connect the pipe to the gas convector using a flexible special gas hose. In this case, a tap must be installed between the pipe and the hose.
After installing the convector and checking the tightness of all gas joints by simple soaping, we start the convector. To do this, you do not need to run to the store for matches, but just press 2 keys on the front panel of the convector, one of which opens the gas supply, and the second - piezo ignition. Turning the knob with numbers next to the keys is also easy, thus setting the desired temperature for further automatic maintenance.

How much will it cost you to install and operate gas convectors, for example on liquefied gas?
Consider the following two options for giving:
- one convector with a capacity of 2.5 kW with a 50-liter cylinder placed on the terrace is installed in the house;
- two convectors are installed in the house - one with a capacity of 2.5 kW, the second - 3.5 kW with a 50-liter cylinder installed in a closet outside the house.

In the first case, approximately the following costs await you:

(maybe today gas prices are different)

1. Equipment and materials:
Gas convector GWH2 with a coaxial set of pipes - 12,500 rubles;
Cylinder 50 l with a valve - 1700 rubles;
Reducer RDSG 1-1.2 - 120 rubles; (Italian 350 rub)
Steel pipe ¾ inch (8 meters) - 300 rubles;
Flexible eyeliner (50 cm) - 70 rubles;
Ball valve gas - 70 rubles;
TOTAL materials: 14760 rubles.

2. Installation and commissioning:
Installation and configuration of the convector - 1800 rubles;
Installation of gas wiring - 2000 rubles;
Transportation costs - 300 rubles.
________________________________________________________________
TOTAL: 18860 rubles
In the second case, the costs will be approximately 32,460 rubles.
Filling 50 liter cylinder costs 450 ... 480 rubles.

The consumption of liquefied gas during the operation of a 2.5 kW convector in the maximum heating mode is 0.19 kg / h (0.26 m3 / h - for natural). Thus, a 50 liter cylinder provides 150 hours of continuous operation on full power. Taking into account the inclusion of heating in the spring and autumn periods and heating in economy mode on cool summer nights, a 50-liter cylinder is enough for one 2.5 kW convector for one season (May-September).
All of the above also applies to convectors powered by main (network) gas, which is supplied to gas stoves in the kitchens. The fundamental difference is that the installation gas equipment and wiring of the internal gas network should be carried out only by certified specialists with the necessary qualifications and experience with this type heating equipment, the need to "mess around" with cylinders, and, of course, the cost. So, for example, with the current natural gas tariff of about 2 rubles per cubic meter, a 2.5 kW convector consumes, on average, 350 ... 450 m3 of gas per year (at a constant winter residence), which costs 700 ... 900 rubles a year.

Convectors are quickly and easily dismantled within 10 minutes, which is very important in our conditions, for example, when conserving a dacha for the winter. To dismantle the convector, it is only necessary to unscrew the threaded connection with the gas pipeline, unscrew the two fixing bolts and unscrew the 3 M6 nuts. Re-installation of the convector does not require the involvement of specialists and takes the same 10 minutes!
Convectors do not have a water circuit, so there is no problem of freezing of the coolant and damage heating system.
Gas convectors have the ability, in the shortest possible time after switching on, to raise the temperature in the room to the required level and maintain it automatically, without human intervention.
Convectors do not require power supply.

Convectors are very economical due to high efficiency and modern automation system that provides automatic temperature control in the room.
Convectors are safe thanks to high quality protective automation.
Ecological cleanliness- this is another remarkable property of gas convectors. Convectors have closed cell combustion, not associated with a heated room. Combustion air comes from the street, combustion products are also removed there.
In conclusion, we note that gas convectors are not a panacea for a shortage of heat.
If a double-circuit gas boiler is already installed in your house, providing heating and production hot water, then the use of gas convectors will be effective for heating new extensions, such as: attic, covered terrace, garage, etc. During the initial engineering arrangement of a house, in some cases, a combination of electric water heater and heating systems based on gas convectors. If your task is only to heat the house, then gas convectors are the most economical and comfortable solution. At a minimum, compared to classical systems gas heating with a water circuit, the initial cost of gas convectors will allow you to maintain an individually set temperature in each room and ensure economical gas consumption.
But still, it is better to solve the heating of the house, having first received the advice of a specialist.
