Egger where they produce. Everything you need to know about Egger laminate. Benefits of Egger products

Egger Company- a large European company specializing in the production of laminated coatings and many others finishing materials. The company's factories are located in Austria, Germany, Italy, Sweden, Russia and other European countries. Experts say that the total annual production of Egger-branded laminate is more than 30 million m2. Egger laminate can boast of high European quality, reliability, durability, variety of textures and decors.

Laminated floors of this manufacturer have been presented on the domestic market for more than 15 years. They are in consistently high demand among private and legal entities, because the laminate produced by Europeans is excellent for laying in residential premises, public buildings, commercial area.

It is important to note that the company is engaged in the production of laminate 32 and 33 wear resistance classes, which, just, are designed for use in residential premises of any type and in commercial areas with low and medium floor loads.

Modern manufacturing techniques using environmentally friendly raw materials and safe formulations, coupled with innovative high-precision equipment, allow Egger to produce high-quality laminate with a guaranteed service life of more than 15 years. All manufactured models have increased resistance to moisture from the outside and inside, as well as from the ends and the lock connection.

Egger laminate is so safe and hygienic that it meets all international and domestic sanitary and epidemiological standards, so it can be installed in medical and childcare facilities. The manufacturer's laminated floors have the Blue Angel environmental certificate.

Egger has been operating on the European market for a long time, which allows it to dictate the fashion for certain floor coverings, create trends and introduce innovative solutions in laminate production technology. Key features of these laminate flooring include:

  • Panel production technologies are protected by trade secrets. Therefore, the product is guaranteed not to be counterfeited. Small producers will also not be able to produce products similar to the Egger;
  • The geometry of the laminate boards is so well processed and adjusted on high-precision equipment that after laying, if it was done by professionals, there are no gaps between the individual panels;
  • The panels featured in the Egger collections today feature the patented, unique JUSTclic locking system. Due to this, any person, even without much experience in conducting installation work, can potentially quickly lay a laminate in any room. original lock system reliable, durable, unaffected mechanical influences(unlike analogues, the connection will not break if the panel is bent);
  • Egger laminate is considered one of the best on the market in terms of imitation tree species, tiles and other materials. After laying, even up close it will be difficult to make out what is under your feet - a laminate flooring or a real tree. This is achieved through the use special technology, which provides for special processing of the protective and decorative layers of the panel. The upper resin layer in a number of collections has a relief surface, which makes the imitation of wood more natural.

Structure

Laminate from Egger, like other manufacturers, consists of 4 main layers:

  1. The top layer is protective. Its main function is to protect the surface from moisture and mechanical stress. different kind. The thickness and specification of this layer determines the wear resistance and class of the laminate as a whole.
  2. decorative layer. It is made from special high-quality paper on which the drawing is applied. The models of this manufacturer imitate the most different breeds wood (from acacia to ash), as well as a natural stone and designer parquet.
  3. The main layer, presented in the form of an HDF-slab. This is a high-density base that determines the main characteristics of the floor covering, its durability and resistance to moisture. In class 32 and 33 laminate, a board with a density of more than 800 kg/m3 is used.
  4. The bottom layer is stabilizing. This layer is responsible for the comfort of the floor covering, protection against moisture and some specific indicators. In a number of Egger collections, the lower layer provides for additional protection against moisture - Silenzio substrates, main function which is not only to increase moisture resistance, but also to ensure the proper level of sound insulation. No wonder Egger laminate is considered one of the best on the market in terms of sound insulation.

Variety of models

Egger laminate flooring models are so diverse that people who can’t decide on the choice of laminate for a long time find something suitable in the assortment of this manufacturer.

All models from the Austrian company on the market can be classified according to several criteria:

    1. Style. Many manufacturers produce laminate in the same style, so the panels often do not differ from one another (only by shade). Egger, in turn, offers models made in 4 main styles: Authentic style, Vintage, Natural style, Modern. This approach allows you to choose a laminated coating for a specific interior design of a residential building, office or cafe.

  1. The basis. It is known that HDF-plate acts as the basis in the laminate, but each manufacturer makes it in its own way. Egger offers panels with two core board types: Quell Stopp Plus and Aqua Stop. If Quell Stopp Plus is standard with beautiful name, then models marked Aqua Plus are designed for use in rooms with high humidity, as well as in places where the floors are periodically exposed to a large number various liquids.
  2. Chamfer. For Egger models, the chamfer can be double-sided or four-sided. But you can find options with a completely missing chamfer.
  3. wear class. It has already been said above that the manufacturer produces a laminate of 32 and 33 wear resistance classes. If you are offered Egger coatings of 31 or 34 wear resistance classes in a store, you should know that this is a hoax.
  4. Guarantee period. Depending on the collection, specific model and operating conditions of the laminate guarantee period on the panel can be 15, 20, 25 years.
  5. Panel thickness. Even decors from the same collection can vary considerably in thickness. The laminate is presented with the following indicators: 7, 8, 9, 11 mm.
  6. panel format. Egger manufactures laminate flooring in the following individual board sizes: Classic, Medium, Long, Large, Kingsize.

Scope of use

32 and 33 classes of laminate in the modern market are the most popular. That is why Egger laminate can be used in a wide range of spaces:

  • city apartments and country houses. With domestic use of the laminate, you can get the maximum possible service life of the laminated coating (from 15 to 30 years), as well as an extended warranty from the manufacturer;
  • Office premises, conference rooms, reception rooms, workrooms. In the commercial sector, class 32 and 33 laminate is recommended to be used only in those rooms where there is a low level of floor load and average traffic;
  • Institutions Catering, service industries, shops, etc. The manufacturer allows laying laminate in such premises, however, the service life of the coating can be reduced to 10-15 years. During this time, the laminated floor is guaranteed not to lose its appearance and basic performance.

Certificates

Conclusion

Egger laminate flooring is one of the best on the market today. Despite the excellent performance, test performance and a wide range of operation, the presented models have a fairly affordable price (average price category). This allows the manufacturer to find many customers among private and corporate consumers.

In St. Petersburg on July 13 and 14, 2010 Representatives of EGGER Russia organized another seminar dedicated to production technology and technical specifications.

The seminar was conducted by the representative of the EGGER factory in Russia - Mikhail Medvedev. It is impossible not to note his professionalism, because in just three hours (usually seminars of this kind last much longer), he was able to give a lot of useful and interesting information. Namely:

  • about the history of EGGER,
  • its factories around the world,
  • products manufactured by the company
  • characteristics of EGGER laminate,
  • European standards and requirements for laminate in various parameters,
  • about the compliance of the various EGGER laminate collections with these requirements,
  • and about various types technologies for the manufacture of laminate flooring.

On this score, several videos were even shown, about all stages of the production of this laminate. Unfortunately, we cannot demonstrate the videos, but we will be happy to tell you about all the important, in our opinion, topics raised at the seminar, and add something of our own.

History of EGGER

Why is the EGGER brand named this way?

Some of our customers, in association with forestry, affectionately dubbed the laminate from this manufacturer "Jägerem". In fact, the laminate was named after the founder of the company, Fritz Egger. And even now, Michael Egger, the second generation of the Egger family, is among the leaders of the company.

EGGER - from the origins to the present

The history of the company begins in 1960. The company was founded in St. Johann (Tirol, Austria). It is now the headquarters of the Egger Group.

In 1961 The first plant for the production of wooden boards is opened.

Since 1996 EGGER laminate production begins.

Gradually, EGGER becomes not just a company, but a group of companies. Today it consists of 15 enterprises in five countries of the world (Austria, Germany, Great Britain, France and Russia), as well as many sales offices in all significant industrial countries.

Egger in Russia

In Russia, the sales office for EGGER products began its work in 2003. Egger floor coverings are not produced in our country. However, since autumn 2005, the EGGER Drevprodukt plant in Shuya, Ivanovo Region, has been producing uncoated and laminated chipboard. The company is one of the largest and most modern productions Chipboard in Russia. In Shuya, there is a warehouse distribution center of the Egger group - it happens that some batches of laminate come first to Shuya, and only then are distributed to the regions of Russia, which, again, in no way says about the production of the laminate itself there. Egger laminate featured on Russian market, imported to us from Germany.

Where is Egger Laminate Made?

Egger plant in Central Germany

In 1996 the EGGER plant in Brilon begins its work. A big plus for the production produced by the plant MDF boards(Medium Density Fiberboard - fibreboard medium density) and HDF (High Density Fiberboards - fibreboard high density), is the presence of its own sawmill. It uses direct printing technology (we will talk about it in more detail below). At the end of December 2006, the plant launched the production of floor coverings using a new technology.

Egger plant in Northern Germany

The plant in the German port city of Wismar was founded in 1999. It is currently the largest EGGER plant. It was at this plant that until 2006 there was a joint production with Tarkett. The geographical location of the plant is very successful, since an Austrian sawmill is based near it. Its waste is used in the production of MDF and HDF boards. In addition to the production of boards, Wismar has wide opportunities for further production and processing of products. Thus, the entire cycle of production of laminate flooring is carried out at one plant. Strict quality control of products is continuously carried out at both plants, which explains the low rejection rate.

EGG products

Fifteen factories produce chipboard, MDF, OSB and products for further processing. The company's enterprises are located in Austria, Germany, France, Great Britain, Romania and, of course, in Russia. The EGGER company occupies about 11% of the European market of similar production and assortment.

EGGER products

All products manufactured by the factories of the EGGER group of companies can be divided into three categories:

  1. Products for industrial applications, e.g. for the furniture industry (furniture boards, countertops, facades)
  2. Products for construction and decoration (OSB boards, insulation boards, lumber)
  3. Laminate flooring

Laminate EGGER

Laminate flooring is EGGER's only end product. And just like the laminate of other manufacturers, they have unique characteristics, which, together, are characteristic only this species floor coverings:

  1. Appearance
  2. A wide range of decors currently on the market allows you to choose a floor for any interior. For this laminate and designers love!
  3. Easy care
  4. Laminate flooring does not require as much care as, say, parquet. Nevertheless, there are a number of rules that must be followed so that the laminate does not lose its original characteristics.
  5. Durability
  6. With proper care, laminate flooring can last a very long time. In some cases, it can even be disassembled and reassembled in a new place, where it will continue to please you.
  7. impact resistance
  8. The laminate is subjected to various tests in order to make this indicator as high as possible.
  9. Environmental friendliness
  10. High quality laminate is absolutely safe even for children.
  11. Light fastness
  12. If you are thinking of rearranging furniture, you can be calm - in those places where, say, a bed or a wardrobe stood, the laminate will not be darker, as is the case with other floor coverings.
  13. Modern technology profile
  14. Nowadays, the locks that fasten the lamellas are incredibly strong. The interlocks of some manufacturers are capable of withstanding a tensile force of up to 1200 kg/r.m. m.

Benefits of EGGER laminate

Unique Just click system!

EGGER slats are fastened together according to the principle of a locking connection - using a system just click! They fit snugly around each other and provide reliable fastening even if the floor is not completely level. The connection is so strong that the lamellas do not separate at a tensile strength of up to 1,002 kg (this indicator is fixed at ideal flat surface). This suggests that EGGER laminate is able to withstand various types of furniture, including industrial ones. According to the instructions, it is allowed to lay EGGER laminate if the floor is uneven up to 3 mm, which corresponds to Russian standards and rules.

Safety of use

  1. EGGER laminate is flammable class 3, which means it is highly flammable. This means that in case of fire, even when the walls and doors are already on fire, EGGER laminate for a long time will remain unflammable, ensuring reliable evacuation.
  2. On EGGER laminate, you can safely run and jump, because there is no risk of slipping on such a floor.
  3. Thanks to its composition, EGGER laminate is safe for health.
  4. EGGER laminate can be safely used for underfloor heating (both electric and water). However, the temperature must not exceed 28 o C. Otherwise, cracks in the floor may occur. In addition, this level of indoor temperature is not favorable for human health.

moisture resistance

When used properly, EGGER laminate has a non-swelling property. That is, it can be subjected to wet cleaning if necessary, and in unforeseen domestic cases (for example, a vase of water fell) do not change its characteristics.

Now it is customary to label in green laminate with high moisture resistance. It is important to understand that this is just paint. EGGER plans to stop painting boards in this way starting this fall.

Bloat testing

When testing a laminate for moisture resistance, its fragment is lowered into warm water for 24 hours. The percentage of plate swelling can vary from 8% (increased moisture protection) to 10% (technical standard). The moisture resistance of a laminate primarily depends on:

  1. Board density (for EGGER - from 880 to 930 kg per m3)
  2. Type of wood For EGGER laminate, HDF board (always pine) is used and, depending on the country where this board is produced, beech (Europe) or birch (Russia) is added. Unfortunately, due to the characteristics of the wood, the board produced in Russia swells more.
  3. Chemical components (in particular adhesive compositions), which, when contained in a laminate in large proportions, can have an adverse effect on human health, up to getting cancer. That is, thanks to the chemical components, it is possible to produce a 100% moisture-resistant laminate. The only question is how safe it will be for human health.

In terms of swelling, EGGER laminate is focused on safe practical applications.

Substrate - additional sound insulation

A number of EGGER products already have a soundproof underlay. But any additional cork underlay will reduce indoor noise by up to 13 decibels, which for the human ear is equivalent to halving the noise level. However, if you want to improve the sound insulation in the room, you should not choose an underlay based on polyethylene foam. It backfires!

Classification and standardization

At the moment, there is no standard in Russia that regulates the parameters for assigning laminate to one or another wear resistance class. Therefore, in our country, as well as throughout the world, the production of laminate is based on the principles set forth in the European standard DIN EN 13329-2006 (“Multi-layer floor coverings. Elements with a surface layer of aminoplast heat-shrinkable resins. Technical conditions, requirements and methods trials").

Here is a table compiled on the basis of this standard.

It may seem to some of our readers that this table lacks one more laminate class on the market - 34 (familiar to us under the and brands). But, according to Mikhail, there is no single standard for testing laminate wear resistance class 34 - such a laminate is produced according to technical specifications.

However, the class of the laminate is not always the determining factor in the final quality of wear resistance. So EGGER does not just produce laminate according to the above standards, but exceeds them by 50% in terms of quality. That is, an EGGER laminate of 31 wear resistance class practically corresponds to the 32nd one.

Laminate manufacturing technologies

In his presentation, Mikhail spoke about the types of laminate currently found on the market. We also include this information here, as it may be useful to readers choosing a laminate.

HPL / CPL (Height / Сontinuous Pressure Laminate) - step-by-step pressing laminate. This technology makes it possible to increase the range of laminated coatings and produce 33 class laminate.

CML (Continuous Multi Layer Laminate) is a multilayer direct compression laminate.

DPR (Direct Print Laminate) - direct print laminate. This technology is based on the fact that the printing of the laminated coating pattern is applied directly to the HDF board, that is, kraft paper is not used in the production.

When we, the employees of the Parquet Fair, are asked to help choose a laminate good quality and at the same time not very expensive, we advise namely EGGER– laminate, which is the best combination of price and excellent performance!

Now you too can appreciate its quality and reasonable price!
