Homemade blade from a walk-behind tractor. Recommendations for creating a blade for a walk-behind tractor with your own hands Necessary materials and tools

Long gone are the days when the equipment for a walk-behind tractor was counted in a few units. Every year, not only the number of mounted and trailed units increases, but also their range, making the use of two-wheeled assistants more and more functional and varied. The paradox is that if earlier, for example, the blade for the Neva walk-behind tractor was overwhelmingly homemade, because there was simply no factory one, then today, when you can easily find a factory one, many owners of walk-behind tractors continue to use do-it-yourself blades.

Purpose and design of a blade for a walk-behind tractor

The main purpose of the blade is to clear snow from yards and driveways. But its capabilities are not limited to this. It can be used to eliminate holes and ditches, level the surface of the garden, and also be used to remove plant debris.

All dumps, despite minor design differences from each other, are manufactured according to general scheme. Structurally they consist of:

  • Fastening mechanism;
  • Rotation angle adjustment mechanism;
  • The actual blades of the dump.

Many manufacturers of walk-behind tractors have long included a blade among the attachments they produce. Moreover, for ease of operation, the factory blade is additionally equipped with attachments: rubber – for removing snow and metal knife– to level the soil.

But in the variety of manufactured modifications of this device lies a certain complexity. Simply put, the factory blade on the Neva walk-behind tractor cannot always be installed without problems on another brand.

How to make a blade for a walk-behind tractor with your own hands?

To make a blade yourself, you need to acquire the necessary tools and materials, as well as good drawings. In them Special attention to the fastening mechanism. If you need to make a shovel blade for a Neva walk-behind tractor, then the drawn attachment point must match your brand, otherwise you will not be able to hang a homemade shovel.

You can fit a two-hundred-liter iron barrel under the blade of a shovel. You need to cut off the sides of the barrel, and cut the remaining material into 3 parts, so that you end up with 3 curved segments.

Two segments are welded along the contour into a single sheet, and the third is cut into strips and welded from the back to the sheet to give it greater rigidity. The bottom of the shovel is reinforced with a 5mm steel plate, equal in length to the length of the shovel. Along the entire length of the plate, maintaining a step of 10-12 cm, 5-6mm holes are drilled to fix the rubber safety strip on it.

In the middle of the blade, a piece of a square pipe with a cross section of 40x40 mm is welded to strengthen it over its entire length. Exactly in the middle of this trim, a semicircle of thick steel with 3 drilled holes is welded. These holes will be used later to fix the rotation angles of the shovel. An L-shaped holder is made from the remaining pipe, which is inserted with the short end into a semicircle on the shovel, and fixed to the frame of the walk-behind tractor with long bolts.

Such homemade shovel for a walk-behind tractor it serves no worse than the factory one, and its cost is negligible. And in this simplicity, which allows you to easily make such a shovel with your own hands, lies the main reason that even today most dumps for walk-behind tractors remain homemade.

Often, in just a few winter days, so much snow falls that it can be quite difficult to remove it with just a shovel. In this case, a walk-behind tractor will come to the rescue, which can be equipped with a homemade blade. This will help clear the area, saving your energy and time.

Blade design features

The dump is attachments in the form of a shovel or bucket installed on a walk-behind tractor for the purpose of clearing the local area from snow and debris, as well as leveling the soil. A snow blower for a walk-behind tractor greatly simplifies cleaning and can be used both on local area, and in public areas.

Structurally, the blade on a walk-behind tractor consists of three main elements - a shovel, a mounting unit and a mechanism for adjusting the angles of rotation of the shovel. The dumps presented today in agricultural equipment stores are equipped with shovels with different modifications. The difference between them mainly lies in the design and principle of their operation.

As a rule, a snow thrower for a walk-behind tractor operates in several positions:

  • only forward;
  • with a slope of 30° to the left;
  • with a slope of 30° to the right.

Before you begin directly making a snow dump, you should select optimal angle position of the shovel, and fix it on the walk-behind tractor using the L-shaped mount.

A shovel for a walk-behind tractor is one of the most simple options dump, but this does not mean that its production will require 30 minutes of time and a minimum of available materials. On the contrary, if you want to make a shovel for a walk-behind tractor, you will need to carefully prepare and purchase everything in advance necessary tools and materials.

In order to homemade dump turned out to be of the highest quality possible, be sure to study the drawings. They will tell you the dimensions and order of fastening the elements of the clearing device.

After studying the drawings in detail, prepare everything necessary equipment and materials. To work you will need:

  • tin sheets, at least 3 mm thick. The dimensions of the sheets should be 85 x 22 x 45 cm;
  • 1 metal stand – a steel pipe is suitable for this;
  • 4 stiffening ribs, about 4 mm thick;
  • a strip of steel long enough to fit around the blade. The thickness of the strip must be at least 5 mm;
  • 2 eyes for attaching the blade rod;
  • set of washers and nuts;
  • square pipe, cross-section 4×4 cm and length 1 m;
  • a set of drills with a diameter of 5–6 and 8–9 mm;
  • flat piece of rubber;
  • 2 rods, each 52 cm long;
  • 1 sheet of steel, 10–12 mm thick with dimensions 60 x 60 cm;
  • welding machine;
  • grinder with discs for cutting steel;
  • hammer drill or electric drill.

Having all the above materials and tools at hand, it will be easier for you to make a mounted snow blower for a walk-behind tractor. Correct order The action looks like this:

    1. First of all, make a fence bucket. To do this, take the stiffeners and weld them into a frame with three horizontal and four vertical guides. Next, heat gas burner steel sheets and carefully bend the metal so that it forms a ladle shape. Weld the finished element to the frame made of stiffeners. As a result, you should end up with a snow dump identical to what is shown in the photo;

  1. Next, make a snow blade - this element should crush compacted snow and strengthen the snow blower on the walk-behind tractor. To make a knife, take a steel strip and drill 3 identical holes in it, the diameter of which should be 5–6 mm. The distance between them should not be less than 10 cm. Next, secure the knife with bolts, placing a rubber gasket between it and the bucket;
  2. The next step will be the manufacture and installation of the fastening mechanism. Cut a piece of pipe with a cross-section of 4x4 cm and weld it to the back of the bucket approximately in the middle of the element. In the middle part of the tube, weld a part in the shape of a semicircle - for this, take a thick piece of steel. Make 3 identical holes in the semicircle, which will later be needed for screwing in the bolts;
  3. Next, take the same piece of pipe and make a holder out of it that resembles the letter “G” in shape. Carefully insert one of the ends of the holder into one of the holes in the semicircle, and securely fasten the other end to the frame of the walk-behind tractor;
  4. The lifting height of the bucket can be adjusted using two bolts screwed into the surface of the existing recesses in the square pipe. The video will tell you more about making a snow plow.

After making a shovel on a walk-behind tractor for snow removal, you must check the functionality of the device. First of all, test the serviceability of the blade height adjustment mechanism - this will give you confidence that when cleaning the yard you will not damage decorative coating local area. The snow removal attachment to the walk-behind tractor should not outweigh the agricultural machine - if you notice that the center of gravity of the unit and attachments is broken, be sure to attach weights to the rear of the walk-behind tractor.

A blade from a gas cylinder - how to make it yourself?

One of the most common options is to make a dump from a 200 liter barrel or from a gas cylinder. Such a snow removal attachment will successfully cope with clearing the local area from compacted icy snow masses, and will save your time and effort.

As in the first case, you will need a detailed diagram that will detail all the dimensions and installation locations of the main elements of the snow blower.

Next, to make an auger or rotary snow blower, you will need to prepare the same materials and tools as in the first case. You don’t have to buy steel sheets and stiffeners - a cylinder or barrel will be used instead.

A snow dump for a walk-behind tractor is made as follows:

  1. Cut an empty barrel or cylinder into 3 parts - in the end you should be left with 3 curved segments from which you need to make a shovel;
  2. Weld 2 segments out of the resulting three to each other along the contour. As a result, you will receive a product 3 mm thick - this is quite enough for high-quality snow removal;
  3. To strengthen the lower part of the blade, install a durable steel blade. Use a drill to make 3 holes in the knife with a pitch of 10 and a diameter of 6 mm. When installing the knife on the ladle, place a rubber gasket between the elements;
  4. In the middle part of the installed pipe, weld a semicircle in which you make 3 holes in advance - they will be used to securely fix the rotating corners of the bucket;
  5. Make an L-shaped holder from another piece of pipe. Insert one end of the part into one of the holes in the semicircle, and secure the other to the walk-behind tractor frame. You can see the result of the work done in the photo.

A ready-made snow shovel will help remove large amounts of freshly fallen and compacted snow. Thanks to the large width of the bucket, you can clear a significant area, saving your time and effort.

For better cleaning of the local area, a sweeping brush can be installed on the manufactured dump. It should be secured directly behind the bucket using bolts. If you want to use this element, then when making a blade, you need to weld 2 pipes, at least 1 m long, to its side parts. A third pipe is welded perpendicular to the pipes, and the brush itself is welded to it.

Installing a snow blower on a walk-behind tractor - about installation in detail

The blade must be attached to the walk-behind tractor using a system of brackets that should be welded to load-bearing structure walk-behind tractor. As additional clamps, use two rods that will be inoperative. The rods will serve to reduce the load on the brackets used.

It is not recommended to use bolts without brackets for fastening for a number of reasons. Firstly, they may freeze to the structure, which is why you will not be able to remove the blade from the walk-behind tractor. Secondly, the bolts, even anchor ones, will be subject to strong vibration when operating a walk-behind tractor with a blade, which will lead to their deformation or loss right during harvesting. Third, the bolts will not be able to hold a bucket full of snow. As a result, the fasteners will break sooner or later.

Rules for operating a walk-behind tractor with a homemade blade

In order for snow removal to take place without unexpected incidents, you should adhere to certain rules using a homemade blade. These include:

    • to save engine life, use a snow blade with a height of at least 5 cm - in other cases, you can only use a sweeping brush by raising the bucket;
    • when using a walk-behind tractor with a blade, put special anti-slip chains on the wheels of the unit in advance - they will prevent the machine from skidding on ice;
    • when regularly removing large amounts of snow, check the engine of the walk-behind tractor from time to time - when working with attachments, it is susceptible to increased heating and wear, which can lead to boiling of the oil in the engine;
    • regularly check the reliability of the fasteners - replace any brackets that have cracks immediately;
    • To prevent the snow removal attachment from cracking or deforming, carefully adjust the height of its position above the surface of the local area;

  • Do not under any circumstances try to scrape off any remaining snow from the surface. bottom bucket - for this you have a sweeping brush;
  • Always make sure that snow and pieces of ice do not get inside the walk-behind tractor through the grille and holes in the body - this can lead to engine breakdown, damage to the piston group and carburetor, as well as a short circuit inside the walk-behind tractor wiring. To protect the unit, cover all openings in its body with steel shields. In this case, the latter must be installed so that their rear parts are slightly bent from the body. Thus, the air necessary to cool it will reach the engine;
  • Before installing and using the blade, install a protective plate in front of the front wheels of the walk-behind tractor - it will prevent ice and snow masses from getting on the suspension parts of the unit, the melting of which will lead to the formation of rust on the parts;
  • if, when raising or lowering the bucket, you find strange creaks coming from the blade rods, be sure to lubricate the bolts and brackets with grease;
  • at the end of the winter season, before taking the blade to the garage for storage, thoroughly clean it of any remaining snow and dry it. After this, treat the surface of the bucket, rods, mounting brackets and bolts with an anti-rust agent;

All of the listed tips for the manufacture, installation and operation of a homemade blade are suitable for walk-behind tractors Salyut, Agro, OKA, Patriot, MTZ, Agat, Cascade, as well as Neva MB-1 and MB-2.

The harsh winter is such that owners of private houses often have to deal with snow removal. To solve the snow problem they use various devices, shovels, etc. Manually removing snow from a large area has become a rare case with the current level of technology development. And really, why waste long hours and effort on clearing snowdrifts and debris from your yard, if you can make a homemade blade for a walk-behind tractor with your own hands.

Homemade blade for walk-behind tractor do it yourself drawings

Snow plows, easily mounted on all types of equipment, significantly speed up and facilitate the process of clearing snow. Any snow blower blade for a walk-behind tractor contains three main parts - a snow shovel, a device for adjusting the angle of rotation of the shovel, and a fastening unit that secures the shovel to the frame of the tractor.

There are several designs of ready-made dumps that are included in the kits of attachments, but such a “grader” can be made as a homemade blade for a walk-behind tractor with your own hands, the drawings are given below.

A blade shovel is an element of attachments used in conjunction with a walk-behind tractor. With its help, you can mechanize such ordinary work on plot of land like garbage disposal, snow removal winter period, as well as leveling the surface of the earth and moving it from one place to another.

Dumping shovels have various modifications, but in general they are characterized by general principle work and devices. As a rule, they have several typical working positions. Typically these are the following three provisions:

  • forward
  • to the left (with a slope of 30 degrees)
  • to the right (with a slope of 30 degrees)

Working with a blade for a walk-behind tractor

Before starting work, the shovel blade of the walk-behind tractor is manually rotated left and right at an angle of up to 30 degrees. The position adjustment operation is completed by setting the desired angle and securing the blade in the selected position with cotter pins.

The width of the blade shovel for a walk-behind tractor is usually one meter (some models may have a different value) with a metal thickness of the bucket from 2 to 3 mm. In the factory, dump shovels are made from high-quality steel.

Blade for walk-behind tractor device and equipment

Shovels for walk-behind tractors can be equipped with metal blade attachments, which are convenient for leveling the ground, as well as rubber attachments designed for removing snow.
Since there is a wide selection of modifications of dump shovels, when choosing such attachment Be sure to make sure that the device can be installed on your existing walk-behind tractor.

Manufacturers do not equip walk-behind shovels with spring damping mechanisms, since due to the low speed of movement, special protection against contact with uneven surface land. The walk-behind tractor does not need lifting and turning devices, which significantly reduces the total cost of the snow removal kit.

When equipping your walk-behind tractor with accessories for snow removal, buy special metal lugs. Replacing pneumatic wheels with such “shoes” significantly improves the quality of snow removal.
Prices for mounted shovels and dumps for walk-behind tractors are low and range from 4,000 to 6,000 rubles.

How to make a blade for a walk-behind tractor with your own hands

Making a blade for a walk-behind tractor with your own hands is not at all difficult if you have an angle grinder, a drill and a welding machine in your household.
Here is one of the simple options for such a product for owners of walk-behind tractors. You won’t have to search for a suitable metal for a long time, since you can use a regular two-hundred-liter steel barrel for this.

Carefully cut it into thirds and you will have three curved segments for the shovel. By welding two of them along the contour, we get a product with a metal thickness of three millimeters, which is quite enough to ensure the rigidity of the blade.

The lower part of the blade is reinforced with a knife. To do this, you will need a steel strip 5 mm thick and a length equal to the blade grip. Holes with a diameter of 5-6 mm are drilled in the knife in increments of 10-12 cm to secure the rubber safety strip.

The design of fastening the blade to the walk-behind tractor is quite simple and can easily be implemented in a home workshop. In this case, a square pipe 40x40 mm is welded to the blade, welded from two segments of the barrel, approximately in the middle of its height for reinforcement. Then a semicircle made of thick steel is welded to the pipe in the middle, in which there are three holes necessary to fix the angles of rotation of the blade shovel.

After this, an L-shaped holder is welded from the same pipe, one end of which is inserted into a hole in a semicircle, and the other is bolted to the walk-behind tractor frame. To adjust the lifting height of the shovel, bolts A and B are used. They are screwed into holes in a section of square pipe, which is welded to the coupling device and put on an L-shaped holder.

Do-it-yourself shovel blade for walk-behind tractor

The size of our shovel blade for a walk-behind tractor will be 850x220x450mm. The blade itself is made of steel sheet 2-3 mm thick. The racks located inside are made of sheet metal 3-4 mm thick and serve as stiffeners.

Holes are drilled into them locally for attaching the blade to the rods, taking into account strictly vertical arrangement blade in relation to the front of the walk-behind tractor.

  • 1 – dump sheet (tin);
  • 2 – 4 pcs stand (stiffening ribs);
  • 3 – bottom sheet dump (tin);
  • 4 – knife;
  • 5 – linkage mounting eye.

The bracket for securing the blade is installed on the legs of the walk-behind tractor, to which the base of the front folding support of the walk-behind tractor is attached, and the same M10 bolts are used. Rods 520 mm long are attached to the brackets with M8 bolts and wing nuts, which are attached to the blade stiffeners.

Holes are drilled in the internal stiffening ribs (a stand 3-4 mm thick) to fasten the blade to the rods so that the blade is located in a vertical position in relation to the walk-behind tractor. The blade is additionally fixed on the walk-behind tractor by means of two adjusting rods: in the non-working position, they make it possible to unload the brackets. A knife measuring 3x100x850 mm is bolted to the lower part of the blade.

  • 1 – dump;
  • 2 – rod;
  • 3 – bracket;
  • 4 – traction.

The bottom of the dump is lined with tin to prevent it from being buried in the ground. The width (depth) of the bottom can be made smaller than shown in the drawing. With a blade height of 450mm and a depth of 220mm, it looks more like a bucket.

Taking these recommendations as a basis and experimenting with sizes will help you make a shovel blade for different walk-behind tractors: Neva, Salyut, etc. Then snow removal with a walk-behind tractor will become an easy and enjoyable task for you.

In the Asian climate of Russia, owners of private houses often face the problem of snow removal, and in large quantities. As a rule, an ordinary snow shovel or other devices are always used for these purposes. But today, many summer residents own walk-behind tractors. There is nothing easier than making a shovel for a walk-behind tractor to simplify the task of clearing snow.

Using a snow blower

A tool such as a snow plow, which is coupled to a walk-behind tractor, is designed for removing snow, debris, moving earth from one end of the site to the other, etc.

A similar tool can be used in various directions and places. For example, for needs on a personal plot of land, in a field, for any economic activity.

This shovel greatly simplifies the process of cleaning anything due to its large working surface.

The complete system looks like this:

  • shovel;
  • fastening mechanism;
  • a device with which the angle of rotation of the mechanism is adjusted.

Such designs have various modifications, which include common features. Basically, this is both the operating principle and the design of the device itself. Today, purchasing such a device is not some kind of luxury. This is a common everyday technique for owners summer cottages for personal needs. With their help, you can easily clean up your dacha, remove debris and snow, level the area, etc.

Factory models

Any company that manufactures walk-behind tractors can also offer a range of snow plows. There are popular models on sale from such manufacturers as Centaur, Neva, Zirka, etc. The only big advantage of a factory design over a home-made one is that they are made of high-quality steel and are more difficult to damage. Moreover, such models last longer than homemade ones. But, on the other hand, they cost a lot.

There are a lot of options for factory dumps, so you should check before purchasing whether this model is suitable for your existing walk-behind tractor. At the factory, snow plows are not equipped with spring mechanisms due to the low speed of movement. If the speed of the walk-behind tractor is low, then the protective mechanisms for contact with the ground lose their meaning. Moreover, the factory models do not have mechanisms for lifting and turning the unit. In this regard, the price of the factory design is reduced.

Prices for snow blowers may vary. Basically, the cost of these varies from 4 thousand to 6 thousand rubles.

Homemade dump

Those owners who have no desire to produce a blade can easily buy it in a store, but due to the high cost of such units, owners of private cottages and plots are increasingly interested in how to make a shovel for a walk-behind tractor with their own hands. In addition, there is a lot of information and drawings on this topic on the Internet. Such opportunities allow you not only to save money, but also to make the device with the required parameters.

Self-dumps for agricultural machinery (motoblocks, tractors, ATVs, etc.) significantly facilitate the process of snow removal. This is especially noticeable with large piles. Any snow-clearing “gadget” for equipment consists of three elements: a working element that is in contact with the snow, a mechanism for adjusting the angle of rotation, and a fastening unit with the equipment.

Although factory models have many various types structures for any agricultural devices, self-assembly The installation of a snow clearing element is simple and allows you to significantly save money.

With the help of a homemade device, you can not only remove snow in winter time, but also to remove debris, level the area and other necessary functions.

It doesn’t matter what design the owner uses - a factory one or a do-it-yourself blade. In any case, it will have three positions:

  • slope angle to the left 30 degrees;
  • slope angle to the right 30 degrees;
  • straight position.

Before starting snow removal work, the shovel blade should be installed in the desired position, based on three possible ones. After determining and establishing the required position, it is fixed using metal cotter pins. The width of the snow throwing area is usually one meter, but provided that the thickness of the steel used is 3-4 millimeters. Some factory models can throw more snow. This is because industrial designs are typically made from high quality steel.

Required materials and tools

In order to make a shovel for a walk-behind tractor with your own hands, you will need some materials and tools. Depending on the chosen model, these indicators may differ, so you should clarify all the data ahead of time. As a rule, they are indicated on websites where drawings for certain models are located.

But for a universal design you will need the following set of tools:

  • steel barrel with a volume of 200 liters;
  • iron strip of approximate dimensions 90x105x4 millimeters;
  • profile square pipe, 1 meter 40x40 millimeters;
  • a set of bolts and nuts of the required parameters;
  • metal drills of suitable sizes;
  • pliers;
  • a set of keys for the corresponding nuts;
  • rubber sheet;
  • thick sheet of steel;
  • Bulgarian;
  • a set of discs for an angle grinder;
  • welding;
  • electric drill.

After all the necessary materials and tools are ready, you should begin assembling the shovel for the walk-behind tractor with your own hands. The simplest snow removal mechanism can be made from a 200-liter old barrel, since from the very beginning she will have perfect round shape, which is just right for such a “gadget”. This avoids unnecessary labor costs when heating a sheet of metal and giving it the desired shape.

To begin with, in such a barrel you need to cut off the lid and bottom using a grinder. Then the barrel is sawed lengthwise with a grinder into three parts equal in width. The left and right curved parts must be welded together, thereby forming a bucket for the future apparatus, and the remaining strips must be cut into small pieces. These parts will subsequently be used to improve the rigidity of the snow blower. They need to be evenly welded to the ladle using welding and do not forget to weld two strips on the sides.

In order for the device to be reliable and of high quality, it is necessary to weld a knife at the bottom of the bucket. To do this you will need a strip of iron 800x95x3 millimeters. It is necessary to drill three holes of 5-7 millimeters in it. The distance between stripes should not exceed 110 millimeters.

Such actions are mandatory, as this will strengthen the rubber gasket and prevent damage to the asphalt in the area. The knife will be attached to the structure using bolted connections.

Installing the mount

After assembling the shovel and knife, you need to mount and install the mounts with the equipment for the snow blower. For these purposes you will need a pipe. It must be welded to the bucket using welding exactly in the center of the structure. Then a metal circle should be welded to this pipe. It is necessary to drill several holes around the perimeter in order to subsequently be able to attach it to a walk-behind tractor or other equipment, and also to adjust the angle of inclination of the bucket during snow removal work.

After this, you will need a pre-prepared profile square pipe. From it you need to make the shape of the letter “G”. It will serve as a holder. The short side of the “letter G” should be attached to a welded metal disk with holes, and the long side to the frame of agricultural equipment (motoblock, ATV, etc.). In order to adjust the required height, holes are made in the L-shaped holder, changing which will adjust the height of the unit.

Features of building a snowplow

As another example, it is necessary to consider another option, which is no different from the previous one, but still has its own characteristics.

For a blade in direct contact with snow, you need to prepare steel sheet 3-4 millimeters thick. For racks that make the unit more rigid, it is necessary to take steel 5-7 millimeters thick.

Holes are drilled in such racks, with the help of which the shovel will be attached to the rods. It is important that the fasteners of a homemade snow blower have a vertical position in relation to the agricultural equipment.

Such a model will consist of the following parts:

  • shovel;
  • a bracket that connects the device to a walk-behind tractor or other equipment;
  • rods;
  • craving.

Snow removal design for walk-behind tractor

If we are talking only about a walk-behind tractor as a power unit, then the snow removal “gadget” for it will also have its own characteristics.

First it must be noted that the design will consist of the following parts:

  • vertical blade;
  • 4 racks to provide the structure with great rigidity;
  • horizontal dump;
  • ladle knife;
  • rubber gasket;
  • tires for fastening rods.

A walk-behind tractor with a blade for snow removal is very often used in private households. To install the same equipment on a walk-behind tractor you will need tools:

  • steel sheet 800x650x3 millimeters;
  • steel plates (440x220x4 millimeters, 4 pieces);
  • iron strips (800x100x4 millimeters);
  • springs for attaching rods (2 jokes);
  • profiled square pipe 40x40 millimeters, 1 meter;
  • a set of washers, nuts and bolts;
  • rods (520 millimeters in length, 2 pieces);
  • metal drills;
  • a set of keys;
  • pliers;
  • thick rubber sheet;
  • grinder and a set of cutting discs for it;
  • welding;
  • drill.

To install the blade, you need brackets that are used on the walk-behind tractor frame. Also, the structure is attached to the walk-behind tractor using two non-working rods, with the help of which the walk-behind tractor brackets will be unloaded. The snow blade is attached to the blade using steel bolts on the lower edge of the bucket.

After the blade is ready, you can attach it to the walk-behind tractor and begin clearing the area of snow, debris, leveling the ground and other necessary actions, which with the help of a snow blower will be completed faster and with minimal labor costs. Such a device can rightfully be considered universal, since it can perform a variety of tasks. And self-assembly allows you to create equipment specifically for the needs of a specific owner. In addition, its price will be several times lower than the factory models.

For long-term operation of the structure, it is recommended to treat it with a special primer to avoid the formation of corrosion. Before this, all welding points must be carefully processed with a grinder. After priming, the structure can be painted. It is also important that the rubber protection strip should extend beyond the edge to avoid damage to the surface of the area.

As it turns out, anyone can independently assemble a snow blower for a walk-behind tractor and other equipment. You just need to have minimal experience working with welding machines and the desire to work. This process is not complicated, there are many plans online for creating a snow blower, and the materials and tools can be found at any hardware store if you don't have them. In addition, this will significantly save money.

In our country there are such winters that often the owners of individual households are faced with the difficulty of removing huge volumes of snow. Usually this task was solved using ordinary shovels and all kinds of homemade devices. On this moment, when most farms have motor cultivators that can be equipped with various types of attachments, snow removal, garbage collection and other work have become much easier. In this article we will look at how to create a blade for a walk-behind tractor with your own hands.

Design features of the device

Snow shovels without special effort They can be attached to any type of equipment and greatly speed up and simplify the process of clearing snow. Any snow removal equipment for a multifunctional unit includes 3 basic parts: a snow shovel, a mechanism for adjusting the angle of rotation of the snow plow, and a fastening module that holds the snow plow to the frame of the unit.

There are a number of designs of factory shovels that are part of the attachments However, you can build such a device for a walk-behind tractor with your own hands, especially since there is a lot of different information and drawings on this problem on the global network.

This makes it possible not only to manufacture equipment with the necessary characteristics, but also save significant money.

The dump is component attachments used together with a motor cultivator. With its support, you can facilitate such mundane work on own plot land such as garbage collection in summer, snow removal in winter, in addition, leveling the surface layer of the earth and transporting it from one site to another. There are snow dumps various variations, but in their total mass they are endowed with one principle of operation and design. Basically they have a number of standard work positions.

It is almost always the following 3 provisions:

  • directly;

The principle of working with a snow plow for a walk-behind tractor

The mouldboard shovel of a walk-behind tractor must be installed correctly before performing its functions. She turns with her hands to the right or to the left at an angle of up to 30°. The process of adjusting the position ends with setting a suitable angle and fixing the shovel in the chosen location using cotter pins. The gripping area of a snow plow for a mobile power unit is usually one meter (individual modifications may have other values) with a shovel material thickness of 2 to 3 mm. In industrial conditions, these devices are made from high quality steel.

Shovel for motor cultivator

Moldboard shovels for motor cultivators can be equipped with a knife attachment, which is convenient for leveling the soil, as well as rubber attachments designed to eliminate the consequences of snowfalls. The choice of models of snow plows is extensive; when selecting such a mounted mechanism, you must make sure that the structure can be mounted on an existing motor cultivator.

Manufacturers do not equip these devices for walk-behind tractors with a damping device(damping) or preventing vibrations (spring dampers), since due to the low speed of movement, special protection from contact with uneven soil topography is not needed. Equipping your motor cultivator additional equipment for snow removal, purchase specialized steel lugs.

Replacing pneumatic wheels with similar devices seriously increases the quality of snow clearing.

How to create a snow dump from a barrel?

Make a shovel on our own it’s simple when you have a welding machine, an angle grinder and an electric drill in your home. Here is one of simple ways. Engage in searches the required material you don’t need it, since you can use a simple 200-liter iron barrel.

Carefully cut it into 3 pieces and you will have 3 curved pieces for the snow plow. By welding 2 of them along the contour line, we obtain an element with an iron thickness of 3 mm, which is fully enough to make the shovel rigid. The lower segment of the shovel is reinforced with a knife. To do this, you will need a metal strip 5 mm thick and the same length as the blade grip. Holes with a caliber of 5-6 mm are made in the knife at intervals of 10-12 cm for mounting a protective strip of rubber.

The mechanism for attaching a shovel to a motor cultivator is quite simple and can be done at home. To the shovel, assembled from two parts of the barrel, approximately in the middle of its height, a pipe with a cross-section in the form of a square measuring 40x40 millimeters is welded for reinforcement. Then, in the middle of the pipe, a semicircle of thick iron is welded, in which 3 holes are pre-drilled, required to stabilize the angles of rotation of the blade shovel.

To adjust the level of lift of the blade, bolts are used that are screwed into holes in a piece of tube welded to the tow hitch and placed on an L-shaped bracket.

Making a dump shovel from a gas cylinder

Another one of available funds for the manufacture of a dump shovel is gas cylinder. For this event you will definitely need a detailed diagram. It must indicate the parameters of the spare parts used and the order of their installation in single design. The creation work takes place in the following order.

  1. Release excess pressure from the cylinder, if any.
  2. Cut off both edges of the lid so that the width corresponds to one meter.
  3. Cut the resulting pipe into 2 halves along the length.
  4. Using a welding machine, connect these 2 segments so that the height of the blade is approximately 700 millimeters.
  5. The mounting holder is made like this. Cut a scarf from thick iron. Make a series of holes in it to rotate the blade in different directions. Weld a piece of pipe to the gusset.
  6. Weld the prepared product to the snow dump at the level of the holder location on the walk-behind tractor.
  7. Installation is carried out using a cylindrical rod.

The thickness of the walls of the cylinder is sufficient; there is no need for reinforcement. However, the bottom can be equipped with durable rubber, which will remove loose snow and not damage the compacted road. To do this, you need to take hard rubber from rotary conveyor lines. The width of the rubber strip is 100x150 mm. Using an electric drill, make holes in the shovel to secure the rubber. To thoroughly fix the rubber strip, you need an iron strip 900x100x3 mm. Drill holes in the metal and rubber, marking each one with a shovel in advance. Secure with bolts.

Sheet steel shovel

Some craftsmen prefer to use new material, not used items. This way you can assemble a homemade blade from an iron sheet 3 mm thick. To strengthen the device, you can use a steel strip with a thickness of at least 5 millimeters. Metal cutting is carried out according to diagrams. The blade of the blade itself contains 4 segments: front, bottom and 2 side. Assembled structure requires reinforcement. To do this, components cut from metal 5 mm thick are welded vertically.

Then a rotating device is created. It is an eye with a hole for the axle. The eyelet is fixed by welding to a corner that is attached to the shovel. The axis is fixed on one edge of the pipe, and the other edge is fixed on the walk-behind tractor. The required degree of rotation is fixed by a cylindrical rod (dowel). 3 millimeters is a small thickness, which means it needs to be strengthened. Cut a strip of 850x100x3 mm from a sheet 3 mm thick.

You can fix it with bolts, but you will need to drill or weld the strip first.

To carry out the work you will need:

  • sheet metal;
  • angle grinder with discs;
  • electric drill;
  • set of drills;
  • bolts with self-locking nuts (with plastic inserts);
  • welder with electrodes;
  • wrenches;
  • profile or round pipe.

If you have the necessary abilities, the work is not difficult. And the created device can be used not only in winter, but also in summer. Improve the site after completion of construction and installation work, plan the area for a children's sandbox, etc. What type of construction to choose is up to you to decide.
