How to build a simple gazebo from pallets without much effort. How to make a gazebo from pallets Gazebos from pallets to give with your own hands

The summer cottage is an affordable and popular vacation spot for citizens, and you want to equip it beautifully and functionally. I would like to save as much as possible on the arrangement. Increasingly, the views of summer residents are directed to improvised materials, such as ordinary pallets for packaging. In this article we will talk about the possibility of using pallets in the construction of a garden gazebo.

Pallets, or pallets, are a type of container that is used for packing and transporting bulky goods or goods. For example, boxes with goods stacked on pallets when moving through a warehouse or into a truck van for further transportation, will not crumble, fall, respectively, the goods in them will remain intact.

In the production of this type of container, wood, plastic, metal, cardboard are used. Pallets also differ in size. For wooden variants of pallets, waste of coniferous and hardwood species is used.

Pallet selection

Pallet sizes may vary:

  • European packaging - 120x80x14.5 cm (length, width, height);
  • American version - 120x120x14.5 cm;
  • Finnish palette - 120x100x14.5 cm.

Which standard to choose depends on the type of arbor, although pallets can be installed both vertically and horizontally. In this case, any of the three options will do.

Did you know? The prototype for the construction of the pallet was wooden drags - runners knocked together.

Training

The first thing to do is to decide on the type of construction: it must be strong, easy to assemble and durable. The proposed option will have a pillar foundation and a wooden frame.

Therefore, in addition to pallets, you will need:

  • brick or blocks for the foundation;
  • wooden beam and board, planks;
  • fasteners - nails, metal corner, self-tapping screws, anchors or capercaillie screws;
  • mortar cement.

The site selected for construction is freed from vegetation, stones, and debris. It is also desirable to level the surface. Next, markup is carried out: pegs are driven in along the edges of the perimeter of the future building and a rope is pulled, which will serve as a beacon.

Pallets selected for construction are cleaned of dirt, sanded and sanded to give them a smooth surface.

For the processing of pallets and wood, other work you will need:

  • joiner's planer;
  • end planer;
  • chisels of different sizes of canvas;
  • hacksaw, ;
  • drill and drills;
  • grinding nozzles;
  • a hammer;
  • roulette;
  • level;
  • axe;
  • shovel.

Stages of work on the construction of a gazebo

We will build a gazebo with a completely closed back wall, then on the sides - a railing made of pallets.

Did you know? Ancient Egypt is considered the birthplace of the pavilion; on the frescoes of Egyptian tombs, archaeologists found images of these buildings dating back to 2000 BC.

We dig holes around the perimeter of the future gazebo half a meter deep. To prevent seasonal deformations of the soil, we fill the bottom with a mixture of sand and gravel. Pits should be located on each corner of the building, between them and in the center, a total of twelve under a rectangular arbor.

Further, on a pillow of sand and gravel, he lays pillars from a block or brick, which is at hand. In order for the pillars to stand firmly, the material is tied together with cement mortar, and ebbs are made around the pillar in the pit. It is advisable to insulate the columns with bituminous mastic from moisture.

The function of the lower strapping and the base for the floor will be performed by a wooden beam.

Flooring

Preparation and work itself consists of the following stages:

  1. Before laying the floor, the support pillars are tied with a wooden beam (100x100 cm). The front bars, where the entrance will be, are made 15 cm higher than the rear ones, since the structure will have a shed roof. Fastening is carried out using metal corners, self-tapping screws.
  2. The second stage is to attach logs (from the same beam) with a distance of 50-60 cm, they are fixed horizontally, along stretched beacons.
  3. At the same time, vertical bars are installed and fixed, which will hold the entire structure, the walls, in particular, and the roof.
  4. On the logs carry out the flooring of the board, previously impregnated with an antiseptic. The board is used with a thickness of 25 mm, such flooring will be durable.

Important!You can use a board made of wood-polymer composite, it is durable and strong.

Walls

We install pallets vertically between the supporting racks so that the railings are higher. First, they are attached to the bearing supports, you can use screws, and connect them with nails or self-tapping screws.

In the early stages of construction, pillars were installed. We will make a shed roof, the figure shows a view of this type of roof:

For the roof you need: timber, boards, slats.

  1. We connect vertical columns with beams from a bar.
  2. We join the lower and highest points of the structure with rafters in increments of 60 cm.
  3. Perpendicular to the position of the rafter boards, a crate of planks is stuffed.
  4. The final touch is the roof covering: slate, ruberoid.

Important!All wooden parts of the building must be treated with an antiseptic, varnished to prolong the life of the gazebo and regularly updated.

You can ennoble the appearance of the structure with the help of beautifully selected shades of paint or a combination of several colors. Light curtains made of translucent fabrics can be hung on open openings. Curtains made of natural fabrics, such as linen, with a calm pattern or plain, will add nobility.

Inside the gazebo you will need furniture: a soft sofa, a pair of armchairs or comfortable chairs with a back, a table for tea drinking.

It will not be superfluous to have a bookcase or an open buffet with the necessary small things.

Plants that are taken indoors for the winter, and outdoors in the warm season, can also take their place in the free corners of the building. In addition to potted vases, you can decorate the gazebo with hanging containers with bright flowers.

Ideas for Using the Pallet

Pallets in skillful hands are a versatile material for various kinds of products, including furniture. The simplest furniture option is a coffee table. For manufacturing, you will need two pallets and wheels for furniture with fasteners.

The cleaned and sanded pallets are stacked on top of each other, fastened with self-tapping screws, turned over and attached to the wheel corners with self-tapping screws. The table can be painted in any color you like, put a sheet of plexiglass on the countertop. The existing niches are used to store magazines or newspapers, books.

Any owner will be pleased to do something on their own in the country, and a beautiful and comfortable gazebo made of pallets will not be an exception. For a summer residence, a country house, such a structure would be an ideal addition. A stylish, attractive, original, environmentally friendly do-it-yourself pallet gazebo is assembled very well, which can be considered the best option for beginner builders.

How to make a gazebo with your own hands from pallets

Pallets or pallets are actively used in domestic conditions for the transportation of various goods. The material has many advantages:

  1. Affordable cost, simple use.
  2. Unusual and open design gazebos from wooden pallets. Free and complete air circulation has a positive effect on well-being, mood.
  3. Environmental friendliness. To make a gazebo from pallets, you should not use IPPC-labeled raw materials, since it is customary to coat such wood with distinguishable chemicals.

In addition to the advantages, there are also disadvantages that should be taken into account. The main problem with the use of raw materials is high vulnerability, since pallets are not treated against pests and decay.

Any construction must be accompanied by a project. At this stage, the features, the location of the object, the connection of communications and networks, the calculation of the material are determined. Work is carried out in a strict sequence:

  • selection of pallets;
  • design development;
  • drawing up a drawing, taking into account architectural requests;
  • the construction of the object itself;
  • work on the exterior of the building.

Before starting construction, it is necessary to prepare a tool, building materials:

  • brushes;
  • paint and primer;
  • pallets;
  • polycarbonate;
  • drill with self-tapping screws;
  • grinder.

Having decided on the architectural form of the building, it is necessary to implement the project on paper, making an accurate drawing with cuts. It is desirable to display the contours of the building in order to evaluate the general concept of the entire landscape design. If you use a regular graphic editor on a computer, you can create a three-dimensional visualization of the future building.

To make summer gazebos for summer cottages not only stylish and beautiful, but also durable, it is important to work on the foundation. This issue is resolved at the design stage, it all depends on the type of soil and the specifics of the structure.

If the soil is clayey, then a pile foundation will be an excellent option. A strong steel pipe with blades at the very end will perfectly enter the ground, which will allow you to achieve excellent strength even under the most adverse weather conditions. Regarding cartilaginous soils, you will need a strip foundation. This type of base will slightly prolong the construction, as you will have to wait until the cement mortar hardens.

You should also consider the types of pallets that will be used in the process of assembling furniture and walls. They come in several varieties:

  • EURO;
  • Englishwoman;
  • europallet;
  • EURO enlarged.

All options have the same height, namely 14.4 cm, but the length and width may vary. If the pallets are placed in two rows, then the building will turn out with a minimum number of gaps.

Step-by-step construction of a summer gazebo

The gazebo can be made from solid pallets, supporting metal or wooden supports, the process will take no more than two days. There is a second option: the use of pallets exclusively for the construction of the roof and base. Master class of site preparation:

  • the entrance should be on the south side;
  • clear the area of stones, debris, weeds and grass;
  • level the surface using crushed stone and earth;
  • mark with pegs and rope;
  • make holes for support pillars or piles.

  • build a frame of wooden beams measuring 1 m by 1 m;
  • assemble the walls from one, two or three rows of pallets;
  • wall panels are fastened with screws, anchors, capercaillie screws;
  • pallets are fastened together with self-tapping screws and nails.
  • The next step is the roof, it can be made from pallets. The total amount of material is calculated based on the size of the future premises. If this raw material is used, then it is covered with high-quality waterproof material, namely roofing felt or film.

    As for budget options, the roof can be made of polycarbonate, which is presented in a rich color palette. It is mounted simply, perfectly transmits sunlight, has resistance to high temperatures. The gazebo is easy to cover with a soft roofing with your own hands.

    It is interesting that flexible tiles harmonize well with landscape design, which can emphasize the naturalness and elegance of wood. It comes in multi-color and monochrome. In the first case, in the manufacture of the material, transitions of different colors are used, and in the second, shades of the same color are used.

    The finishing touch is the decoration of the country house, for which you can apply the following elements:

    • flowers in pots;
    • curtains;
    • climbing plants;
    • covers, pillows for furniture;
    • various figurines and candles;
    • beautiful lighting fixtures.

    A gazebo with a lot of flowers and plants will look very fresh, interesting, extravagant. Pallets can be used to create a vertical garden, it will turn out interesting and practical.

    The final stage is one of the most important, since the comfort and appearance of the building depend on it. First you need to process the floor, paint or varnish to extend the service life. Walls can be left intact or covered with paint. You can use only paint for wood, stain. By following the brief instructions and following the recommendations, you can build a high-quality, beautiful, comfortable gazebo.

    Summer is coming, trips to a country house or to the country are coming. On warm sunny days, you will hardly want to be within four walls, it is much more pleasant and useful to breathe fresh country air. An attractive and easily feasible undertaking is to build a gazebo. For self-arrangement, the construction of pallets is best suited.

    Such a simple structure will allow you to comfortably sit with a gadget or a book, put a container with a refreshing drink on a stable surface. Neither rain nor the scorching sun will prevent you from having a good time with friends or spending the evening alone, enjoying nature.

    Construction material

    The direct purpose of pallets is to simplify the reloading and transportation of various goods: bags, boxes, boxes, etc. Pallets are durable, which allows them to be used for the construction of summer structures, for example, gazebos. They are durable, maintainable, have a clear geometry, and are inexpensive.

    Before use, pallets are cleaned of dirt and dust, repaired if necessary. Restoration of wooden containers involves replacing damaged and adding missing boards, strengthening loosened structural elements. The grinding tool will help to achieve a smooth surface quickly and easily.

    To extend the life of the future building allows the processing of wooden parts with special protective compounds that prevent the appearance of rot and the harmful effects of insects.

    These funds are sold at any hardware store.

    Key stages of work on the construction of a gazebo

    The construction of even a small structure requires a project. Placement of the object, supply of the necessary networks and communications, calculation of the amount of materials - all this is determined at the design stage. So, the sequence of work:

    1. The choice of pallets for the gazebo.
    2. Building design development.
    3. Making a drawing based on architectural requests.
    4. Direct construction of the object.
    5. Building beautification.

    Choosing pallets

    Below is a classification of the most common products.

    Euro pallet dimensions

    Pallets: 1 - "Eurosize", 2 - "Eurostandard"

    The length and width of wooden containers can be different (for a certified euro pallet, these dimensions are 120 and 80 cm, respectively), the standard height is 14.5 cm.

    Finnish and American pallets

    Finnish pallet dimensions

    The length of the financial pallet is 120 cm, the width is 100 cm. When building a gazebo from American-style pallets, consider other dimensions: 120 x 120 cm.

    American pallet dimensions

    Whatever choice is made, the advantages of such a building are obvious:

    • Environmentally friendly material will not harm health, organically fit into the countryside exterior and give comfort.
    • The design lets in sunlight and fresh air, which creates a feeling of unity with nature.
    • You can build a gazebo from pallets with your own hands. Even for a novice master, it will take 2-3 days.

    Design project

    This stage opens up endless possibilities for creativity. The material chosen for construction resembles the elements of a designer, respectively, a lot of design options are obtained.

    This version of the gazebo illustrates that quite decent structures are obtained from pallets, there would be an idea.

    Perhaps it will be a simple quadrangular house, "Baba Yaga's hut" or a multifaceted gazebo, consisting of six or more corners. Various modifications are available, which are limited only by the imagination of the author.

    Drawing

    After defining the architectural forms, it's time to put the design of the gazebo on paper. In this case, full-fledged design documentation is not required, but it is highly desirable to make a drawing with structural sections of the structure.

    Also, on the plan of the land plot, you can draw the contours of the future building to assess the general concept of landscape design of the territory. In the simplest graphic editors, you can make a 3D visualization of the gazebo and see how the structure will look on the ground.

    Foundation

    A start

    A base of timber is laid along the perimeter of the building and fixed with screws or anchor bolts to the foundation, and between each other - with the help of strapping. The photo on the left shows this step.

    Suitable for this only durable boards that can withstand heavy loads. Roofing material or a protective film under the base will protect the structure from moisture. The lower harness of the gazebo is ready, now corner posts are placed on it and fixed with screws.

    If the structure is massive, the supports are duplicated in the middle of the future walls. Fasteners are the same - capercaillie screws. Installation of the roof frame is carried out upon completion of the installation of the pillars. When erecting walls, pallets with a bar and between themselves are fixed with capercaillie screws. The construction of the wall is carried out depending on the purpose of the gazebo - in a single or two-layer structure.

    Polycarbonate, roofing material, tiles, slate are suitable for the roof. Each material has its own advantages. The polymer is produced in a variety of colors, so it is easy to choose the option that suits the color scheme. It attaches easily and withstands high temperatures. A roofing felt roof is easy to install, inexpensive, but not very attractive in appearance and does not fit into every landscape. Laying slate alone is laborious, and installing tiles takes a lot of time. The best option is a polycarbonate roof, as in the photo.

    An example of a canopy covered with polycarbonate.

    Finishing touches

    Floors, as a rule, are also made of pallets or use decking. A special composition is applied to the wood, which protects against fungus, mold, insects, then coated with varnish or paint. Such processing will extend the service life at times.

    The walls are painted with acrylic paints or varnished, which emphasizes the natural charm of a wooden structure and increases the durability of materials.

    The gazebo is a place of rest at any time of the day, including evening and night, so you can’t do without light. The main thing in the matter of electricity is safety. Particular attention is paid to protecting the cable from moisture and water, making reliable insulation.

    The final stage will be a path from the remains of pallets, laid to the recreation area. At the site of the future path, the ground is leveled, a small sand cushion is poured to drain water, and pallets treated with stain are laid on top.

    The summer gazebo on the suburban area is ready - it's time to go for the barbecue!

    Wooden pallets for transporting pallets with all kinds of goods have long been of great interest to summer residents and people living in the private sector. And this is not surprising - after all, in skillful hands, these products turn into a full-fledged building material. The cost of such used pallets is simply ridiculous, but it happens that they are generally given away for free. What of them just do not design: and garden houses, and fences, and arbors of various styles. Everything is limited only by the flight of fancy and the desire to sculpt something in your suburban area.

    Almost every summer cottage has a gazebo, and the variety of such buildings is simply huge. There are both small and large, different shapes and design options. Someone orders ready-made structures, and someone builds himself from existing materials.

    But it all depends on the budget, and if there is no money to build a gazebo from classic building materials, then it is quite possible to use alternative and very inexpensive materials, for example, wooden pallets.

    What pallets are suitable for building a gazebo?

    There are several types that differ in the quality of the material and dimensions. With thick curved boards, on which brick and cement are usually transported, they are only suitable for firewood, and varieties with thinner planks are just what you need. Particularly popular for parsing into Euro-pallet material. It is of very good quality, but it has its drawbacks: this concerns its disassembly. Often, ruffed nails are used here, which are not so easy to pull out. A nail puller will not help here, but it will not be difficult to pull out brushes with a hammer using a small hatchet.

    What types and sizes of pallets exist:

    • standard- 1200x1000x140 mm;
    • euro pallets- 800x600x140 mm;
    • euro pallets- 800x600x140 mm;
    • increased euros- 1200x1200x140 mm;
    • thickness may vary in amplitude from 120 to 144 mm.

    Preparatory work

    First of all, you need to draw up a plan and drawing, what kind of gazebo will be, what size and what shape. Where will the garden furniture be located, and what dimensions will it be? Calculate how much and what material will be needed, purchase everything you need.

    There are a lot of self-tapping screws, so it’s better to buy them with a margin, they won’t be superfluous on the farm.

    Pallets purchased for construction must be prepared:

    • Inspect for damage, test for strength, then select the best. The rest can be disassembled into boards.
    • Clean off dirt and debris.
    • Pallets and individual boards from parsing must be processed with a grinder.
    • Wood needs protection from moisture, fungus and pests. To do this, it must be treated with a special antiseptic solution. If this is not done, the tree will darken and acquire a not very beautiful gray color, and will also rot.
    • It is better to paint the wood immediately, and not after the gazebo is ready. Waterproof paint on wood will do, and if you want to leave the natural wood color, you can use wood stain. After staining, it is desirable to cover with waterproof varnish.

    The better the wood is processed, the longer the structure will retain its beautiful appearance. Prepare the right tool. Clear the place where the gazebo is planned to be built from debris, shrubs and tall grass.

    What tools will be needed:

    • saw;
    • a hammer;
    • axe;
    • grinder;
    • jigsaw;
    • screwdriver;
    • drill and drills;
    • brushes;
    • roulette;
    • level;
    • pencil.

    It is better to use a power tool, it will save energy and greatly facilitate and speed up the work.

    Construction works

    The construction of the gazebo is divided into several stages:

    1. foundation;
    2. frame installation;
    3. wall cladding;
    4. roof;
    5. painting and decoration;
    6. decor.

    Foundation

    In order for the gazebo to serve for many years, it is necessary to make a foundation of the right size. If the soil is not very swampy, and the area of \u200b\u200bthe building is small, then you can simply set up concrete blocks 200x200x400 mm.

    When constructing a more permanent structure on problematic soil, it is better to fill in a shallow tape.

    One of the popular foundation laying technologies is pile, which is divided into two types. In total there can be three options for the bases for the gazebo.

    Concrete piles

    It is not very difficult to make such supports for the future structure, but it will take some time for the cement mortar to set.

    First, holes are dug 20x20 cm and 50 cm deep. Then formwork is placed in them from roofing material, scraps of boards or suitable material, which is not a pity. Reinforcement is driven into the bottom of each hole, about 50 cm. Then the formwork is poured with concrete. Such piles should have a height of about 30 cm from the zero level.. After pouring the solution, you need to wait a while until the mixture completely hardens.

    Screw piles

    A fairly new way of building foundations, which has proven itself well on clay and swampy soils. Everything is simple here. Piles of the right size are bought, it remains just to screw them into the ground and screw or weld the heads to them.

    Shallow Tape

    For loose soils and arbors of a large area, it is necessary to fill in the tape. For the device of this type of foundation around the perimeter, it is necessary to dig a trench 50 centimeters deep and install formwork from boards along its edges. Further, a structure is made in the trench from the reinforcement and concrete mixed with medium-sized stones is poured.

    Concrete screed must be watered from time to time during the week. The time of complete solidification of such a tape is about a month.

    When constructing any type of foundation, it is necessary to use a level, and the perimeter must be marked with a thread attached to pegs. This will prevent uneven position of the structure.

    frame

    First, along the perimeter of the foundation, the base frame of the timber is mounted and attached to the foundation with anchors. It should be made from the highest quality materials, since the highest load is on the floor. Next, you need to fasten the beams with strapping.

    Then vertical supports are mounted, which are fastened on top with a transverse coupler with boards and timber. Do not use nails to mount the frame because the structure will loosen over time. Self-tapping screws are considered more reliable fasteners., and you will also need other hardware, such as anchors and corners of various types.

    wall cladding

    Wall cladding can be done in several variations:

    1. The easiest option is completely open walls. The design provides only a roof and floor, but no walls. But such a structure will not protect from the wind, so it is not particularly popular.
    2. Pallets are mounted in two rows in such a way that the second row does not transmit light that passes through the slots of the first layer. With this method of arranging the walls, three sides are deaf, and only the front of the building remains open. This option is suitable for those who love shade and darkness.
    3. Only the back wall is sewn up, and railings with a height of 800-1200 mm pass along the sides, depending on the position of the pallets. So, if installed horizontally, then the height will be 800 mm, and with vertical installation - 120 mm. When arranging such railings, pallets are first attached to the base, then they are evenly pulled together with each other.

    Roof

    The roof can be made of several types: single-pitched, gable or four-pitched in the shape of a pyramid. Which one to do depends on the design of the gazebo and on personal wishes.

    For the crate, 50x50 mm bars and planks are used. All this can be taken again from pallets.

    Painting and decoration

    After the gazebo is ready, it needs to be given a beautiful appearance. Paint in the desired color. If the pallets and boards were painted at the preparatory stage, then it remains to finish painting what is not painted, for example, vertical supports.

    If there is such a skill as wood carving, you can decorate the walls with a variety of patterns, but this must be done before painting and treating with an antiseptic. They also use a blowtorch, lightly burn the wood with its flame, which gives its structure a non-uniform, slightly burnt shade, and then cover it with stain and varnish. It looks very impressive. But this procedure can only be carried out on a clean tree, while it has not yet been processed by anything from chemistry.

    Decor

    To give comfort and beauty to the built gazebo, you can use many techniques. In the cavities of pallets, you can make flower beds, mount beautiful lanterns in such a way that soft, unobtrusive light comes from the glades. It looks very bewitching, as if the walls are illuminated from the inside, while the lighting devices themselves are not visible.

    If there is a brazier, you can decorate it with heat-resistant tiles or stones, hang small paintings and other interior items, and make LED lighting around the perimeter of the gables. Open spaces can be closed with a camouflage net, and even better, plant grapes around the gazebo. When the vine grows, it will not only look beautiful, but also cover with its shadow from the sun.

    The decor elements necessarily include furniture, without which the gazebo will seem like just a canopy from rain or sun. First of all, you need a table and seats.

    You can, of course, use standard furniture that is no longer needed at home, but there is an option to make the so-called garden furniture from the same pallets. They make beautiful tables, benches and even chic corner sofas that just need to be covered and pillows arranged.

    Pallets (pallets) for transporting packages of piece cargo have recently gained popularity among summer residents as a cheap building material. Craftsmen make everything out of it: furniture, fences, sandboxes, flowerpots and even buildings.

    In the article we will talk about how to build an original resting place from pallets in the country or in the yard. A pallet gazebo can be the focal point of your garden landscape design.

    Pallets are a structure consisting of two tiers of boards separated by stiffeners made of timber. It is designed for transportation and storage of materials (bricks, foam blocks, barrels and other piece products). Wood for pallets undergoes special treatment, so the boards for a long time do not lend themselves to infection by fungus, rotting and exposure to microorganisms.

    Since pallets can be used more than once, they are used in warehouses for a long time, during which the boards have time to dry well. Some companies, especially construction companies, collect a huge amount of pallets, which as a result are simply thrown into a landfill.

    But it happens that zealous owners sell unnecessary products for a nominal fee, many practical owners of country houses buy dry, processed material - some for firewood for barbecue, some for construction.

    Pallets used in our country have 4 standard sizes:

    • 80 x 60 cm (euro).
    • 120 x 80 cm (Euro pallet).
    • 120 x 100 cm ("Englishwoman").
    • 120 x 120 cm (euro enlarged)

    The height of all pallets is the same and is 15 cm. The first type is used quite rarely, but the last three are very common, and they are the main material for the manufacture of various items and the construction of garden buildings.

    Preparation of material for the construction of a gazebo

    Before you build a gazebo from pallets, you need to know that the beginning of any work is a sketch that displays the dimensions of the building, its location on the site. Using it, it is easy to calculate the required number of pallets and other related materials for roofing, flooring, etc.

    Important! The material is purchased taking into account contingencies, experienced builders usually add another 15% to the estimated amount for trimming, scrap, and more.

    After the delivery of the material, the following work must be carried out:

    1. Carefully inspect pallets, repair, replace broken elements, clean from dirt and plaque.
    2. In accordance with the project, if necessary, separate the pallets, or vice versa, hammer them together if walls of 2-3 rows are planned.

    1. Since the pallets are made from an unplaned board, it will first have to be sanded to remove roughness, burrs, and bumps. This can be done manually with sandpaper or use a grinder.
    2. It is not necessary to process all surfaces, it may be enough to sand the parts that will face the inside of the gazebo, and leave the rest with deliberately rough processing. But it depends on the desire of the owner and the stylistic requirements of the design.
    3. Cover pallets on all sides with antiseptic impregnation to protect against bacteria, mold, fungus.
    4. After the product has completely dried, you can pre-paint the pallets with decorative paint for outdoor use or cover it with a stain of the selected shade (see), since later it will be problematic to get to hard-to-reach places, for example, apply paint to the inside of the boards between tiers.

    Main stages of construction

    Like any construction, the construction of a gazebo also requires some knowledge and consists of several main stages of work that require more careful consideration. So, we will analyze step by step the technological process of building a gazebo.

    Foundation

    A do-it-yourself pallet gazebo should be installed on a leveled rammed surface and preferably on a foundation.

    For its device, piles or tape are used:

    • pile foundation made using screw piles, this is the fastest option. But you can install metal or asbestos-cement pipes in the drilled holes and fill them with concrete. A piping made of profiled metal or timber is thrown along the piles, then the floor is laid.
    • Under the strip foundation you will need to dig a trench, install the formwork and pour the cement-sand mixture.

    Important! A gazebo made of pallets can be attributed to light buildings, so the foundation for it does not need to be made massive, a rather shallow base with a width of 10-15 cm more than the thickness of the pallets.

    If the gazebo is installed without a foundation, then a layer of waterproofing must be laid on top of the sand cushion. It can be a film, technonicol or any other rolled material, the main thing is that it protects the wood from moisture penetration from the ground.

    So:

    • For their installation, a frame is required. The bar (70 x 100 mm, 100 x 100 mm, 100 x 150 mm) is installed vertically at the corners and perimeter of the building, the distance between the bars is equal to the width of the pallet. It is necessary to make sure that there are no cracks, rot, large chips on the material, otherwise the frame may not support the weight of the building.
    • The racks are attached to the lower harness with the help of metal corners, studs, self-tapping screws. If the strapping is made of metal, then “ears” must be welded to the channel for attaching the beam.
    • At the ends of the vertically aligned racks, an upper harness is mounted from the same beam.
    • Pallets can be mounted in one, two or even three rows, it depends on what kind of light transmission the walls need. One row will perfectly transmit light, but it will not save much from oblique rain and wind, three rows will practically close the gazebo from light, wind and rain. And if you need completely blank walls, then you can install pallets with a slight shift in height, then the boards of the next row will overlap the gaps of the previous one.
    • Pallets are fastened to vertical racks with the help of anchors or capercaillie screws directly to the frame itself, the connection of pallets to each other is carried out with wood screws or nails.

    Important! If you need an airy openwork structure, permeated with sunlight, creating a light penumbra, then it will be enough to make the walls in one row of pallets. If you arrange the walls in two or three rows, then you will get a solid monumental pavilion that can reliably shelter in inclement weather.

    Roof

    Pallets in their usual form are not very suitable, as a rule, they are disassembled into separate boards, from which the crate is made.

    The following materials are used for roofing:

    • Polycarbonate.

    It perfectly transmits light, is resistant to temperature changes, durable, easy to install. Now on sale there is a wide range of colors, even on a cloudy day, such a roof will fill the interior of the gazebo with yellow, blue or green highlights, creating a cozy, festive atmosphere. In addition, the price of the material will be affordable for any buyer.

    • Ondulin.

    This roofing material is in special demand due to its affordable price, lightness, ease of installation, long service life and aesthetic appeal.

    Brown or green sheets will organically fit into the surrounding landscape, make the gazebo a part of nature.

    • Soft tiles.

    More expensive, but also more beautiful, reliable and durable material goes well with wood. You can choose tiles with any texture and corrugation: rhombuses, triangles, scales, stone, brick - whatever you like. But under it it is necessary to make a solid rough flooring.

    The shape of the roof can also be different: single-pitched, double-pitched, figured.

    flooring

    For the floor, it is better to use special materials suitable for laying outdoors, such as:

    • Deck board.
    • Decking.
    • A natural stone.

    All these coatings are moisture resistant, resistant to abrasion, not afraid of frost, mechanical damage, durable and attractive. If you decide to make the floor from the same pallets, then the instructions for installing plank floors require careful processing of wood to protect it from dampness and decay.

    After impregnation of the boards with an antiseptic and complete drying, the floor should be covered with a stain of the selected color, and then with several layers of varnish, or paint. To preserve and express the natural texture of wood, it will be enough to use only a transparent wear-resistant varnish after impregnation.

    Arbor decoration

    How to decorate the pavilion inside and out is the business of the owners themselves, we can only give a few tips on finishing:

    • The walls inside the room can be left in their original version, simply covered with a transparent varnish to preserve the texture of the wood, or they can be painted in bright cheerful colors.
    • Exterior walls are the same, but we must remember that they are especially susceptible to all winds and rains, and therefore they need to be covered only with paints and varnishes for outdoor use.
    • Climbing plants look especially original on the walls, giving additional shade and coolness.
    • From the same pallets, you can build vertical flower beds and place them on the walls of the gazebo.
    • We must not forget that only the gazebo will look harmonious, which is finished in the same style with the main building, fully or partially contains design elements similar in color and shape that are inherent in a residential building. Otherwise, you can get an awkward, alien structure that looks ridiculous against the background of the surrounding landscape.
