Making a flower bed Secret of the Master with your own hands
Step 1. According to the intended pattern, cut out the petals on each tire with a knife. Work carefully.
Step 2 Using an angle grinder, we cut all the tires into two parts. This process is noisy, smoky and rather dirty due to the release of soot on the tool.

Step 4. We connect the halves of the tires in pairs together. Initially, I was going to connect the parts with screws and nuts through washers, but I decided not to spend money and went the simplest way - I made a connection from two galvanized nails. Just punched the edge of the two halves with nails and bent the nails. See photo.
Step 5. Next, we fasten the connected pairs together. At this stage, the photo shows a variant of a flower bed of four halves. It turned out a flexible design, of course heavy, but for a flower bed it’s even good (it won’t blow away with the wind). After assembly, the flower bed should be cleaned of dirt and dried.
Step 6. We install the flower bed on the prepared place and carry out the painting. It is NOT MANDATORY to paint the entire flower bed. It makes no sense to paint the internal volume, as well as the front part of the flower bed immersed in the ground. The paint is applied in 2-3 layers. You can paint with a brush, roller or from a spray can. Painting with a brush is the most budgetary and allows you to apply paint without flaws. Keep in mind that overgrown flowers can hide your artistic coloring.

Swan
One of the most common options for flowerbeds from tires is a product in the shape of a swan. Such a flower bed is made in the same way as a flowerpot in the shape of a flower. Using an electric jigsaw as a cutting tool would be the best option. The more powerful the jigsaw, the easier it is to cut the wheel. For cutting tires, a quality steel blade with a reverse tooth is ideal. Cutting a tire with a grinder is much easier than with a knife or jigsaw. The disadvantage of this tool is that the rubber at the edges of the cut will be melted, the cutting procedure will be accompanied by an unpleasant pungent odor.

The easiest way is to put the old tire on the site, throw land there and plant seedlings. This, of course, is simple, but it does not pull on an exclusive decoration. Well, let's try to improve the situation. Let's take bright acrylic or oil paints, choose a few of them that match in color and paint several tires. Then we install them on top of each other and get a wonderful multi-level flower bed.
An original vertical bed of tires with your own hands is created from several tires of different diameters, stacked on top of each other like a pyramid. You can put a flower pot on top if there is no small tire on the farm. After painting and filling the inner space of the tires with earth, you can grow ampelous plants in the resulting flower bed, for example, petunias or strawberries.
Tire beds can also be suspended. Fasten a strong metal chain (thick cord, rope, etc.) to the tire and hang it on a tree. In order to be able to fill the flower bed with earth, the bottom of the tire must be covered. For example, fix inside a planter with a diameter slightly larger than the inner circumference of the tire. Or put a dense piece of rubber inside - think for yourself, for sure there is a material suitable for overlapping on the farm.

From a tire and a tread cut into equal 4 parts, you can make a flower bed in the form of a turtle. We make cuts on the sides of the tire and insert the tread trim there - these will be the paws of the turtle. We fix them with wire staples. The tail is cut out of a piece of rubber and also fixed with staples. For the turtle's neck, we take a piece of plastic pipe, on which we fix the head from crumpled newspapers with tape. You can wear a straw or plastic panama hat on your head.

Let's look at how to make a flower bed out of a wheel. It means that to create a flower bed, we will use a tire with a metal disk in the middle. To do this, put the wheel on a flat surface and cut out the pattern of the petals, reaching the tread with a knife (or other cutting tool).
Then we turn out both the upper and lower parts of the tire without removing the disc. As a result, you will get a kind of flowerpot in the form of a flower on a stem, into which soil is poured and plants are planted.
After that, you need to take care of how to color the flower bed from the wheel. The upper part can be painted in a bright “floral” shade, and the lower part in green. Then a huge rubber flower with living plants in the middle will bloom on your site.
Master level - a flower bed in the form of a swan?
A flowerbed-swan is made similarly to a flowerpot made of tires, the difference is only in a more complex carved pattern. If for a flowerpot-vase it was necessary to form the same type of petals, then here - the wings, tail, neck and head of a swan. We transfer the scheme to the surface of the tire and begin to cut out the figure of a swan. The head and neck are cut out along the black contours, the tail along the red ones, and the wings along the blue ones. After that, the tire turns out in the same way as in the previous two cases.

We make a beak from a piece of rubber (wood, plastic or other material) and paint it with red paint. We put the two halves of the head together, insert the beak between them and fix all parts of the head together with self-tapping screws. We screw the screws on both sides of the head in the places of the future eyes of our swan. Then, so that the screws are not visible, they are closed with two circles cut out of black electrical tape - these will be the eyes. We raise our head straight and up, slightly pressing it into the tire. In this case, a fold is formed, which also needs to be fixed with self-tapping screws.

To make flower beds, you will need:
- chalk or marker to mark the drawing;
- a sharp knife with a thick blade;
- electric jigsaw;
- extension;
- a set of files;
- any, including used, machine oil.
Preparation for work
With the help of worn tires, you can make an original flower bed at no extra cost.
First of all, carefully inspect the side surface of the tire. Pay special attention to what is written in small print. You need to find the word "steel" or make sure it's not there.
The presence of this word indicates that the tire is reinforced with steel wire, so you will need a fine-toothed metal file.
If there is no inscription, the tire is reinforced with nylon, and to work with it, it is necessary to insert a coarse-toothed file for soft wood into the jigsaw. A large-toothed file is easier to cut rubber, because you have to make less effort.
Most often, steel wire is used to reinforce truck tires, but you still need to check the tire so as not to dull the file.
If you have not only a tire, but also a disk for it, you can make two types of flower beds - low and high.
The cutting technology is the same, the difference is in some marking nuances and the way the tire is “turned inside out”. Moreover, it is necessary to determine which particular flower bed you will make before marking.

When marking, try to draw even, symmetrical lines and do not make the wide part of the petals of the flower bed narrower than 7 centimeters. Smaller petals are much more difficult to cut because the hardness of the rubber is not enough for normal pressure with a jigsaw and file.
Regardless of whether you want to make a low flower bed, low or high, the markup must be divided into three stages:
- marking a small (inner) circle;
- marking a large (outer circle);
- marking of teeth (petals).
A small circle is marked 3-5 cm from the edge of the rim, if it is not there, then 5-7 cm from the bead ring (a place to install the disc). This is necessary to avoid damage to the file on the disc and to remove thin and overly flexible sections of the tire.
To draw an even circle, take the chalk with your thumb and forefinger, press your little finger against the disk (if you are marking a tire without a disk, wrap your little finger around the bead ring of the wheel) and draw the chalk or marker along the wheel. This will allow you to use the disc or ring as a guide, so you can draw a neat and even inner circle.

If the size of the petals is less than 7 cm, then the large circle is marked as described above. For higher petals, it is necessary to mark as above, but with the little finger to hold on to the top of the tire, or use a tape measure to mark the perimeter of the outer circle. The distance between the marks is 5–15 cm. After the marks have been made, draw a circle over them.
Petals can be marked both by eye and with a tape measure. The shape of the petals is only limited by your imagination. It can be triangles, waves, sine waves, oblique teeth, squares, slots, or anything else you can think of.

Before you start cutting, think again about what kind of flower bed you want to see. After you cut the tire, you will not be able to make changes to the design and appearance of the flower bed.
Using a sharp knife, cut through the side of the wheel along any line. Then insert the necessary file into the jigsaw and lubricate it with machine oil. Connect the jigsaw through the extension cord to the outlet, then insert the saw into the slot in the tire. Turn on the jigsaw and start cutting the wheel.
When cutting tires, follow safety rules
Please note that cutting a tire is a difficult and lengthy business, requiring compliance with safety rules:
- Try not to hold the tire on the cutting line near the jigsaw with your hand. If the file breaks or pops out of the slot, you will injure your hand. While cutting, push the jigsaw forward strongly, but smoothly, without sharp jerks.
- If you have enough strength, then instead of a jigsaw, you can cut tires with a sharp knife with a thick (at least 4 mm) blade. But this cutting method is not applicable for steel-reinforced tires.
- Start each cut only after lowering the knife into the tire to a depth of 2-3 cm and cut only by moving the knife down. This will help you avoid cuts and more serious injuries.

After cutting through both sides of the wheel, it is necessary to unscrew the tire. This operation requires quite a lot of strength and skill, so the first time it may not work.

Flowerbed painting
If you have an airbrush (spray gun), then it is advisable to paint the inside-out tire before installation. After all, with the help of a spray gun, you will not only paint a new flower bed, but also hook on the adjacent soil.
If you only have brushes, then it makes no difference whether you paint before or after installation.
For painting, use nitro enamels or alkyd paints.
Wipe the surface of the inside-out tire with a dry, clean cloth to remove dust and remaining rubber chips. Then degrease with white spirit, 646 thinner or acetone. When the liquid dries, paint with a brush or spray gun.
If desired, the flower beds can not only be covered with paint of the same color, but also draw pictures or drawings.
