Size L is defined along the axis of the pole (phase), size B - across. The numerator shows the values of L and H for normal insulation, the denominator - for enhanced insulation (group B).
In the numerator - the proper opening time of the circuit breaker, in the denominator - total
The total weight is determined with the drive without oil.
For /dyn and closing time for circuit breakers with different options drives in the numerator - values for electromagnetic drive, in the denominator - for pneumatic (for S-35M - for spring).
For the VPM-10 circuit breaker, the trip time with the PE-11 drive is indicated, for the S-35M - with the ShPE-12 drive; with the PP-67 drive, the shutdown time is 0.12 / 0.14 and 0.05 / 0.12, respectively.
MGU-20 for a current of 9.5 kA can only be used with artificial blast cooling.

Types of switches MV

The VMG133 circuit breaker (oil circuit breaker, low-volume, pot) is designed for indoor installation. Movable contact - rod, fixed - socket type. Instead of VMG133, the VMG10 switch was released.

Circuit breakers MGG and MG (oil pot circuit breaker) are low-volume, for high rated currents, they have two parallel current-carrying circuits: main and arc-extinguishing.

When the switch is in the on position, both circuits operate in parallel, with the predominant part of the current passing through the main circuit, which has less resistance. When the circuit breaker is turned off, the main circuit contacts open before the arcing contacts.

The MG35 circuit breaker consists of three vertically arranged poles on one frame, where a drive mechanism common to the poles and boxes for current transformers are also fixed, two per pole.

VMP switches (oil suspended switch) are produced for voltage up to 35 kV in versions for KSO and KRU. The switch is low-volume, movable contact - rod, fixed - socket.

VMK switches (low-oil column switch) are produced for voltage 35-220 kV. The arc extinguishing device is attached to the upper flange, the contact rods pass into it from the bottom up. The circuit breaker is controlled by a built-in pneumatic actuator located at the base.

Switches MKP, Ural (U) and S (multi-volume oil switches) for voltage 35 kV are produced in the form of three-pole devices, each pole of which is assembled on a separate cover and placed in a separate tank. The switch and drive are mounted on a common frame, to which a winch is attached to raise and lower oil tanks.

Switches for 110 and 220 kV are produced in the form of separate poles (tanks). All these circuit breakers have built-in current transformers - two to four per pole.

Actuators for oil circuit breakers

Electromagnetic drive

The traction characteristic corresponds to the reaction force characteristic of the oil circuit breaker. A powerful source of direct (or rectified) current is required. The cross section of the supply cables, selected according to the voltage drop condition, is significant. Due to the high inductance of the electromagnet windings, the time

Oil switches 45 switching on is large (up to 1 s). Alternating current electromagnetic drives are also produced. They are mainly used for switches of small power.

Spring drive

The energy required to turn on is stored in a powerful spring, which is wound either by hand or with the help of an engine. low power(up to 1 kW). The pulling force decreases towards the end of the engagement stroke due to the reduction in the deformation of the springs. The speed of the drive allows (automatic reclosing) and (automatic transferring).

The design advantage of the drive is the absence of a powerful source direct current, tanks with compressed gas, valves and pneumatic facilities. The disadvantage is the possibility of application only for relatively small low-volume circuit breakers up to 110 kV.

Pneumatic drive

Energy is stored in a reservoir compressed air which drives the piston in the cylinder. Air consumption allows 5-6 switching operations without pumping. Traction increases almost instantly and changes little. The traction characteristic can be adjusted. The short closing time makes it possible to use the drive for the most powerful circuit breakers. The disadvantage is the need to take special measures to ensure normal operation at low temperatures.

Pneumohydraulic drive

The accumulation of energy required for switching on is carried out by compressing a gas (usually nitrogen). The use of hydraulics makes it possible to significantly lighten the movable part of the circuit breaker and obtain a compact mechanism. The on-time may be shorter than with pneumatic actuators. The drive allows easy manual activation.

The temperature range of normal operation is practically unlimited. Under certain conditions, may apply manual drives, carrying out the switching on and off of the switch by the action of a hand on the lever or flywheel of the drive; in addition, shutdown can be automatic or remote. A fully assembled and revised oil circuit breaker is checked by the installation staff for the simultaneous closing and opening of the contacts, the stroke of the moving part, the pressing and the stroke of the contacts are measured.

At present, at medium voltages, the technology of arc quenching in vacuum dominates over technologies using air, SF6, or oil. Generally, vacuum circuit breakers are safer and more reliable in situations where the number of normal and short circuit operations is very high.

GENERAL INFORMATION ON THE DESIGN OF BM-35 TYPE SWITCHES and MCP-35

Oil circuit breakers type BM-35 are manufactured for a rated current of 600 A with a maximum breaking power of 400 thousand kVA. Until 1941, switches were produced in the version VM-35-N for outdoor installation and VM-35-F for indoor installation. Circuit breakers VM 35-F differ mainly in inputs for indoor installation and smaller distances between phases. Currently, the manufacturer produces switches of the VM-35 type either with an electromagnetic drive (the designation of the VMD-35 switch) or with a manual automatic drive (the designation of the VM-35 switch). If necessary, iBM-35 circuit breakers can be coupled with load or spring-load drives.

Oil circuit breakers of the MKP-35 type are produced for rated currents of 600 and 1000 A with a maximum breaking power of 1000 thousand kVA. MCP-35 type switches are connected to ShPE-2 or ShPS-30 electromagnetic actuators.

Switches of types VM-35 and MKP-35 are designed for outdoor installation, but can also be installed indoors. The main technical data of the switches are given in Table. I.

In the switched on circuit breaker, the circuit passes from the upper contact tip of the input along the current-carrying rod to the fixed contact, to which the movable contact is pressed. Through it, the current passes to the second fixed contact and then to the upper contact tip of the other input. The moving contact is connected to the circuit breaker drive mechanism by an insulating rod passing through a Bakelite guide tube.

When the circuit breaker is opened, the drive mechanism moves the moving contacts down under the action of the opening springs, and the arc is extinguished simultaneously in two arc chutes. The moving contacts of the disconnected circuit breaker are located in the bottom burner near the bottom of the tank. At the same time, reliable insulation is provided by oil.

When the circuit breaker is closed, under the action of the drive, the opening springs are stretched and at the same time the moving contacts are raised, closing with the fixed ones.

Instructions for strengthening switches with UPI cameras.
The increase in the limiting tripping current was achieved through the use in new chambers effective system multiple longitudinal blast with a symmetrical arrangement of exhaust slots and installation of spring-piston unloading tanks in the chambers. The use of tanks makes it possible to limit the pressure in the chambers when high short-circuit currents are switched off, which reduces the load on the inputs and the circuit breaker foundation.
