My task was a bed made of eco-friendly materials

I opted for a furniture board 18mm from conifers(pine, spruce)

I figured out the volumes of parts on a piece of paper in a cage, I decided to buy two shields 1x2m and three 0.6x2m, it seems like it should have been enough =) even with a small margin, if I suddenly mess up.

Honestly, I traveled a lot of building materials in search of right size. Of course, you could order safely on the Internet, but I wanted to feel with my hands what I was buying and how durable it was.

Having successfully loaded this stuff in the garage at best friend, went home to puzzle over the question of how to transfer these forms to pieces of wood.

After several hours of dancing, a tambourine and a printer, I managed to print many many A4 sheets with details. The scale on the monitor screen, brute, did not match the printed on paper. Many thanks to the ruler attached to the screen and the math teacher, I remembered the proportions of multiplication and division)

Armed with a stapler, glue stick and a flashlight, I join the printouts of the parts together.

I chose acrylic eco-enamel for furniture, added color " green apple”, I began to stir first with a screwdriver, then with a larger wand, in the process it all shook me to say the least and, being smart, put the bent electrode from welding into the drill 😉 It was mixed with a bang!

The dryer for painting previously assembled from an iron cabinet also came in handy. different kind pieces, the heaters from the microwave oven are reddening below)

The frame of the bars was also covered with dark paint, the color is interesting for her, lighter than black, slightly blue, reminiscent of graphite

How we chose a car bed for a child

It all started with the fact that about a year ago, our baby began to show genuine interest in all kinds of things. We have a great many of them. There are rubber, and plastic, and wooden ... In a word, not a house, but a whole garage (it's good without the smell of gasoline :).

At some point it was time to change the crib. Our good old one has served her time. Despite the fact that the baby was 2.5 years old, he no longer fit in it. I had to think about buying a new baby crib.

First, they would opt for a bed from the IKEA store. It seemed convenient in it that it is sliding and, as it were, grows with the child. Maximum length it is 180 cm, that is, even an adult of short stature can fit there.

But, no matter how much we love our son, we could not buy him a Ferrari. After all, for such a price, you can, in principle, buy a real car. Of course, it will not be a foreign car, but some kind of used fret, but the fact remains.

Therefore, we decided to focus on an option that, on the one hand, would be affordable for us, and on the other hand, would not cause bright rejection.

As I already wrote, today in the evening our purchase was delivered to the entrance. All my persuasions to help drag the box at least to the elevator answered me polite refusal. I had to resort to the good old method - to give 100 rubles.

Yes! Now this site should work properly for a whole day and a half to make up for the resulting gap in family budget... Did I already write that this site makes money? Didn't you know? Do you want to know how? Then read This(but not now, sometime at your leisure).

After handing over the banknote, everything was immediately settled, and now in our hallway there is already a box with a car bed and a mattress for it. By the way, the box weighs just over 60 kg and has dimensions of 170x80 cm. In principle, 60 kilograms is not so hard, but there is absolutely nothing to grab onto. Therefore, in order not to accidentally drop the box, it is better to carry it together.

Our child most immediately liked the wheels. I draw your attention: in the R1 model, although the wheels are painted on the side walls, they are additionally duplicated by real round ones. wooden details. They are screwed on top of the painted ones and can spin. The R2 does not have these overhead wheels. In principle, the loss for us - adults - is small. And for the baby it is much more interesting that the wheels are and spin.

The kit includes a package with mounting materials. Looking ahead, I will say that not everything went smoothly with them. But more on that later. Also included in the package is a hex wrench. It is not very convenient to work with them, but it is quite possible. Better and faster assembly will go with a screwdriver. We also need a screwdriver and a drill with a thin drill.

So, everything is ready - proceed to the assembly.

How to assemble a car bed. Instructions in pictures

Step 1

Free up space for assembly. Keep in mind that after the machine is assembled, it is advisable not to move it unless absolutely necessary. Even the instructions say that movements are only allowed when raised above the floor.

So clear out where the bed will be and collect right there.

Step 2

We attach the back wall to the large red plate. Nothing particularly complicated - just twist two tie bolts into pre-prepared holes using a hexagon. You have to act very carefully. If you carelessly tilt the back wall relative to the bottom one, you can simply break it out.

Step 3

Attach the front wall. It is on her that the plate with the mattress will subsequently lie. Nothing complicated either. But for convenience, it is better to put the structure on its side, as indicated in the photo:

We fasten three planks on which the radiator grille and headlights are depicted. I confess I messed up here. First, I screwed the headlights, and then, when I put the radiator grille, it turned out that I screwed them upside down. I had to redo. Conclusion: first we put the grille. I hope it doesn't occur to you to put it upside down :)

Step 5

This planochka has to be fastened with as many as 8 tie-bolts. It performs two functions - it fixes the headlights, the radiator grille and the front vertical wall and serves as a support for the bed:

We install one of the side walls. With which one, right or left, you start - it does not matter. The main thing before installation is to put the future car on its side and try to act carefully. Side wall- Pretty heavy construction. It was not difficult for me to just put it on top of the car body at the same time hitting all the grooves. But how will the mother of a child whose father is on permanent business trips or very busy at work do it? It probably won't be easy.

Step 7

Installing the second side panel. The main thing here is not to damage the previously installed one. On this stage the structure is still not strong enough. Any careless maneuver and something can crackle.

I decided to use a mattress so as not to damage the film-coating of the already installed side wall. You know, you don't want to scratch the side of a car, even if it's just a crib.

At this step, do not forget to fasten the supports - four bolts with plastic caps, on which, in fact, the bed machine will stand.

Further, while the machine is on its side and its bottom is available to us, it is necessary to attach the side panels to the lower base. For this there are special metal corners and small screws. However, the holes for them in the panels are not drilled. Therefore, you can either screw the screws into the panels with all your might, or drill holes yourself:

Fastening metal structures to raise the bed was not without complications. The fact is that the holes in the side panels were only drilled half the length of the supplied screws. That is, the screws were quite briskly screwed into the side panels up to about half, and then significant efforts had to be made to continue twisting.

Of course, you could take a drill and drill more deep holes, but I really didn’t want to “get out” with a drill on the outer surface of the glossy side panel, spoiling both the pattern and the overall appearance. I had to replace the standard screws with shorter ones.

Most fascinating process- installation of a bed. It must be installed, trying at the same time to hold a fairly massive white plate - a sleeping place - and get four bolts into the holes metal parts lifting mechanism. It is very difficult to do such work alone, so I had to call my wife for help. She held the stove, and I climbed inside the car, trying to perform the most difficult maneuver.

However, sooner or later, reason prevailed, and now the car is almost ready for a test drive:

It would be possible to save a little and buy a regular children's mattress. However, it would definitely be rectangular and the appearance would lose a little from this.

I would especially like to note that only on the first evening the beds smelled of wood (not chemistry, but wood). But by the next day the smell was gone.
