What is a wyma in carpentry. Joiner's wyma with their own hands. Production technology of glued wooden boards

Currently, the industry offers clamps or clamps various designs. But they are too large and costly. Therefore, for a home carpentry workshop, you can make a clamp with your own hands.

With the help of a home-made wyma, you can perform gluing furniture panels and other carpentry work.

Making a clamp with your own hands

The basis of the design of a homemade clamp is a strong load-bearing beam. It is made from a profile pipe of rectangular or square section. Also, the beam can be made from metal profile: corner or brand.

The supporting beam must have high strength and resistance to bending loads. This is necessary so that during operation the clamp structure does not bend or deform.

To compress the furniture board, you need to make a lot of effort. Therefore, if the supporting beams do not have sufficient strength, they will be bent along with the workpiece.

If the furniture board, which will be made on the haym, must be large, then, accordingly, the material for the base must be selected the most durable. In the design of the wyma, all stops and screws are located above the carrier beam. Therefore, the higher the stops and screws are, the stronger the bending loads acting on the entire structure will be. To do this, the clamp must have a very strong base.

During the work of the wyma, a lot of pressure will be exerted on all stops. Therefore, the stops must be designed for a large load. Otherwise, they may bend.

Materials and tools

  • profile pipe of rectangular section;
  • screws;
  • nuts;
  • stops;
  • wooden pads;
  • welding machine;
  • Bulgarian;
  • building level;
  • squares.

The fastening of the stops to the beam must be strong and be able to move quickly in the longitudinal direction.

The furniture panels to be clamped in the device can be of different widths. In the process of work, it is not always possible to attach workpieces with screws different sizes. Therefore, it is necessary to create the possibility to move the clamps.

All screws must have the required strength. Nuts must be of reinforced construction. They can be purchased at construction stores. You can order the manufacture of these parts in a turning workshop. It is also necessary to order a turner to make stops for screws of the required sizes.

If you buy ready-made screws, you will have to make a groove to install and secure the clamps.

Stages of work

Start making a clamp with your own hands. It is necessary to prepare a profile pipe of rectangular section with dimensions of 60x30x3 mm. The length of the pipe should be 120 cm.

These dimensions for carrier beam were chosen due to the fact that it is often necessary to glue sheets of large sizes or to make wooden doors. Therefore, the clamp must be of such dimensions that it is possible to fix workpieces of such large dimensions in it.

Too large workpieces are rarely performed. In most cases furniture boards will be produced small size and intermediate platforms for stairs. It is necessary to foresee measures in advance so that during the manufacture of the shield, glue does not get on the surface of the device.

In cases where the length of the wyma does not allow large workpiece, you need to glue such a shield in parts. First, workpieces of such a width are glued together that can be clamped in a clamp. Then a wide blank is assembled from narrow shields. For this, movable clamps are used.

Then you need to make screws and nuts. The screw is made of a hexagon 300 mm long with a section of 28 mm. He must have metric thread 2 cm. The nut is made in the form of a 32 mm hexagon, 60 mm long.

Gaskets 1 cm thick are placed under the nuts. Then welding is performed. After that, a clamp is made from metal rod 5 cm

It is undesirable to perform a clamp having a smaller diameter. Otherwise, it will push through the wooden spacers that are placed between the workpiece and the clamp. If you do not use spacers, you can deform the workpiece.

It is necessary to drill a hole of 1 cm in the end of the screw from the side of the clamp. 2 ball bearings are installed in this hole in order to reduce friction.

Then the nuts are welded on. Make sure that the screw is parallel to the profile. Otherwise, the workpiece will be pressed through.

It is necessary to completely tighten the screw with the nut. Then a clamp is put on the groove. After that, gaskets are placed under it.

With the help of the level, make sure that the parts are located strictly parallel. Parts are fixed and then welded.

Welding is performed small seams so that when the metal is heated during welding, deformation of the material is prevented.

Then clamps are made from a corner measuring 60x60 mm. Weld the corner to the profile. The profile is welded from two corners. They are adjusted so that there is the possibility of free movement and at the same time that there are no large gaps.

Fasten clamps. To do this, drill holes with a diameter of 12 mm. They put pins in them. Thanks to this, you can quickly change the position of furniture parts during manufacture.

If in the process of work the workpiece turns out during compression, then the reason for this may be the non-perpendicular position of the stop with respect to the carrier beam. Therefore, you need to check correct location details using squares and a building level.

Then a hole is drilled, a thread is made and a screw is screwed. The correct position of the workpiece can be adjusted with a screw.

When drilling holes, take into account that the screw with a movable stop moves 200 mm. When fixing the fixed stop, the distance between the holes must be 150 mm. Otherwise, there may be areas in which the workpiece does not fit.

Perform first through hole on the clamp. After that, install it in its place, press it with a clamp. Then, through this hole, the profile of the supporting beam is drilled. In this way, precise bonding of parts can be performed.

You can make a wyma in which you can press the shield to the carrier profile. This design is more reliable, but more difficult to manufacture.

On this manufacturing work homemade clamp are running out.

The design of the clamp allows you to perform high-quality gluing work furniture panels various sizes and thickness.

A home craftsman sometimes needs to independently assemble bars or boards into a shield. Of course, you can buy the right team for this work (and this option will be more than correct), but this requires certain finances, and considerable ones, and in addition, an hour to search. In this connection, in a number of options it is more expedient to construct a wyma, at least for reasons of efficiency. The most important thing is that she performs the task assigned to her.

I needed to make a durable door leaf custom sizes for . Served as preparations for him planed boards, ground and calibrated in thickness, but different widths. In addition to them, an additional bar was also needed. Glue, N96 biscuit dowels, as well as lamellar milling machine and others necessary tools they were in the workshop, but, unfortunately, I haven’t got a rim yet. However, bars with a section of 50x50 mm remained from the construction site, from which it was decided to assemble the device.

I selected the bars for the fixture based on the dimensions of the blank shield (900x2000 mm). Gathered fixture on the floor. Having laid the first row of five parallel to each other transverse bars approximately 1.2 m long in increments of 45 cm, I connected them on one side with a longitudinal bar slightly longer than 2 m, using Ø6x90 mm self-tapping screws. The second longitudinal bar is adjustable. It is fastened every time in place: a set of bonded boards is laid close to the first bar, then expanding wedges (I prepared five pairs) and a second longitudinal bar.

Expanding wedges knocked out towards each other create quite a lot of effort, so another row of three transverse bars was attached to the first longitudinal bar from above, which also keep the shield from deflecting when pulled together. These bars, like the second longitudinal one, are unscrewed during the changeover of the device, but only on one side, and are removed to the side by rotation on the remaining screws.

The device turned out to be quite convenient, and it is possible to assemble shields up to 100 cm wide in it. When the wyma is not in use, it folds easily and takes up very little space during storage.

Before rallying the next elements of the shield in their joined edges, I chose the grooves for the biscuit dowels. Vaimu prepared for the operation: he set up a longitudinal stop bar and laid a film over the transverse bars in the place of the new joint so as not to stain the floor with glue.

By gluing the dowels into the grooves of one of the elements ...

... glued the grooves of another element and the joined edges with glue. Then he docked the elements, laying them on the bottom row of transverse bars of the wyma. This must be done quickly before the glue thickens.

In this article you will find detailed instructions for manufacturing wimes with your own hands.

If you are engaged in the manufacture of furniture from, then you can not do without carpenter's screw. For this, it is not necessary to buy it. Weimu for gluing can be made do it yourself.

What is wyma and why is it needed?

Vyma is a structure for assembling and gluing wooden products. Joiner's wyma consists of a metal frame, with movable and fixed stops. In other words, a wyma is the same clamp, only larger and more powerful.

What is wymu made from?

Of course, you can try to make a joiner's wyma from wood, but it will be completely different and achieve maximum results when gluing, for example, you will not succeed. Therefore, the press wymu is made from, namely from metal corner and channel.

What you need to make a wyma with your own hands:

  • corner 75 mm 2.5 m - 2 pcs
  • corner 75 mm, 1 m - 1 piece
  • channel 70 mm 1 m - 4 pcs
  • metal rod with thread - 4 pcs
  • nuts M36 - 12 pcs

The process of making a wyma

So let's start making do-it-yourself wims.

First, we will assemble the structure with bolts, so that it is more convenient to cook. To the corners of 2.5 m we fasten the channel at the same distance.

We set the short corner along the edge of the first channel perpendicularly between the long corners. It should be welded strictly at 90 degrees, since when gluing doors it is very important point(so that the diagonal matches).

After that, we scald all the joints and joints. IMPORTANT: no need to boil internal joint short corner with a channel! Otherwise, the weld will interfere in the future when gluing wooden products.

Now let's start placing the gates. There will be 4 of them and they will be made of a metal rod with a thread. To do this, in the upper corner we make 4 holes opposite each channel. After that, we weld 2 nuts on each side of the corner.

We weld one more nut at the top of each knob so that it is convenient to turn them.

Then, in the lower part, we weld the supports so that the structure stands steadily on its own.

Like this do-it-yourself carpentry wyma was the end result. Of course, it needs to be cleaned and painted, but I think the essence of manufacturing door gluing press and wooden shields disclosed.

Attached is a video showing detailed process the manufacture of this wyma.

Natural wood and how construction material, and as a material for the manufacture of furniture does not lose its relevance. Unfortunately, there are not many places left on the planet where trees grow, from the trunks of which one can make solid door leafs, countertops, or even wide window sills. Such a simple device as a wyma allows you to make glued ones - blanks for home and garden furniture with your own hands.

Production technology of glued wooden boards

Even if the material (log thickness) makes it possible to produce wide products, their further use raises a number of questions. things made of whole solid wood well, very capricious in operation. Those who have worked enough with wood know perfectly well what a “propeller board” is.

To wooden product from the array is not deformed, the material must be thoroughly dried beforehand and, preferably, kept for at least a month in the room where it is to be located. This condition is practically impossible when we are dealing with door leaf or window sill - humidity, temperature changes will inevitably lead to deformation of the product.

These shortcomings are deprived of elements from the glued array. Bars are taken from one or different ones, they are recruited into a single block and glued. In order for wooden blanks to become a single whole, a special device is used - wyma. With your own hands, you can easily assemble a fully functional device.

Simple wyma, collected "on the knee"

Sometimes there are situations that some kind of work needs to be done once. Let's suppose that it was decided to arrange a table made of glued spruce in a gazebo in the country. Does it make sense to buy expensive factory-made clamps? In such cases, a simple, in a sense disposable, do-it-yourself wyma is made. The drawings of the device are shown below.

In order to glue an array of blanks once, you will need long self-tapping screws, a screwdriver, a hacksaw and a carpenter's hatchet.

The blanks are stacked on a number of transverse bars (a bar every 40 ... 45 cm). On both sides of the workpiece, parallel to it, long longitudinal beams (equal in height to the workpiece) are laid and fastened to the crossbars with self-tapping screws. From above, again, the upper transverse bars are fastened with self-tapping screws. Here is the whole wyma, made by hand.

To compress the workpiece, it remains, as shown in the diagram, to wedge it with specially planed wooden wedges. After the product is ready, the wyma can be disassembled and the material used at your discretion.

Clamp made of steel profile

But sometimes craftsmen collect wyms no worse than the factory ones. Here is one option:

The clamping screw is first unscrewed to the stop. The slats are glued and laid on the hayma, starting from the clamping unit. After the array blank is typed, it is covered with the top profile pipe, with bolts in one of the pairs of holes (depending on the width of the future array), the mating node is fixed.

By turning the clamping bolt, the workpiece is compressed from the sides. The design of the clamp is made in such a way that the upper and lower tubes are also strongly pressed against each other when the screw is tightened, which makes the future workpiece perfectly flat. Such a wyma, made with your own hands, allows you to make any products - from cutting boards to door panels.
