PERFORMANCE OF WORKS:

During the work, as well as during the drying period of the solution, the air temperature in the room should be within the range from +5 to +30 ° C and the humidity level should not exceed 75%.

Foundation preparation

The base must be strong, dry, have a bearing capacity. It is necessary to remove crumbling elements, paint coatings, oil, bituminous stains and other contaminants from the surface that prevent adhesion of the material to the surface.

Treat the base surface with a primer "UNIS" in 1-2 layers. Do not allow dusting of primed surfaces.

Before applying the solution around the perimeter of the vertical surfaces of the room, it is necessary to lay an edge tape for self-leveling floors. The width of the tape is selected depending on the expected thickness of the leveling layer.

Before applying the mortar mixture, install beacons on the base and adjust them to the required layer thickness using a level.

Solution preparation

To prepare the solution, pour 4.5 liters of clean water into a plastic tank with a capacity of 50-125 liters, then pour 1/3 bag of dry mix and mix. Then pour the remaining dry mixture and mix until a homogeneous mass is obtained for 1-3 minutes. Let the solution stand for 1-2 minutes and stir again. Mixing is recommended to be done mechanically: a professional mixer or a drill with a nozzle. If necessary, add water, but not more than 1 liter, or dry mixture. For large areas, mixing and application with mixing and blowing machines is recommended. The prepared portion of the solution should be used up within 30 minutes.

Attention! When preparing the solution, the ratio "dry mixture-water" must be observed.

It is not allowed to add other components to the dry mix, except for water. The addition of any components, including water, to an already prepared solution leads to a change in the properties of the material declared by the manufacturer. To prepare the solution, use only clean containers and tools.

Material application

The prepared solution is poured onto the base. Next, the poured composition is carefully leveled, spreading over the entire surface of the floor. Not later than 20 minutes from the moment of mixing the first portion, the next portion of the solution is poured onto the surface and leveled with the rule. Each new portion of the solution is poured onto the base at a distance necessary for spontaneous merging of spreading mixtures.

When applying by machine, set the initial water flow to more than 6 liters. per 1 bag of the mixture, then adjust the consistency of the mortar mixture by changing the amount of water to 4.5-5.5 liters. for 1 bag of mixture. Apply the solution evenly on the base until the specified level is reached, additionally distributing it with a rule or a rail. The pouring area is selected based on the fact that the time of use of the prepared mortar mixture is 30 minutes, and the mortar mixture applied to the surface must be processed for 10 minutes.

When applying by machine, hoses and mechanisms must be rinsed with water no later than 30 minutes after stopping the machine.

In the production of work for movement on the surface of the flooded floor (up to 30 minutes from the moment the solution is prepared), it is recommended to use specialized shoes with studded soles.

Filling large areas when it is impossible to comply with the technology of continuous pouring

The area of the room is divided into several sections using metal profiled beacons. On a pre-prepared base, taking into account the intended leveling layer at the installation sites of the beacons, the Horizon Universal solution is applied. Without waiting for the mixture to dry, the beacons are pressed into the solution applied to the surface. Metal corners or tubes can serve as beacons. The correct installation of the beacons is checked by the level. Further work is carried out after the mortar has hardened under the beacons.

The floor surface is poured by alternating filled areas with empty ones according to the general technology of applying the solution. After the filled areas have hardened (4 hours after pouring the floor), you can start pouring the untreated areas.

The drying time of the floor is indicated under the condition that the temperature of the base and the environment is 20 ° C, the air humidity is not more than 65% in a ventilated room. Laying on the floor of the coating is allowed to be carried out when residual moisture is reached.

For the arrangement of floors, they were originally developed for large-sized industrial premises. Today, such materials are used everywhere. They are also used by private developers, and their high popularity is due to the easy application technology and shortened curing time.

Today, these compositions are widely used to form floors in children's and medical, as well as entertainment facilities, shopping and sports centers. On sale you can find self-leveling floors in a wide range, some of them contain cement, others are methyl acrylate, while others are polyurethane.

You can also purchase epoxy mixtures, the latter of which are based on organic materials. These floors are poured when it is necessary that the coating correspond to the rigid physical, mechanical and chemical properties. Among others, there is a self-leveling floor "Horizon Eunice" for sale, which will be discussed below.

Advantages of self-leveling floor

If you still do not know whether it is worth buying a self-leveling floor of the aforementioned brand, then you should deal with its main advantages, including:

  • seamless surface;
  • universality;
  • antistatic properties;
  • resistance to chemicals;
  • formation of an optimal microclimate in the room.

This list can be supplemented with operational durability, high decorative possibilities and compatibility with underfloor heating systems. The self-leveling floor "Horizon Eunice" eliminates the possibility of accumulation of dirt and is not a favorable surface for the settlement of microorganisms. Caring for such a base is quite simple, because it does not allow moisture to pass through, thanks to this, the operational life of the floors is extended.

You can use the floor in a room for any purpose, which indicates its versatility. It is also worth highlighting the antistatic properties, due to which dust does not settle on the base. Self-leveling floors can be used when exposed to chemicals, they are resistant to ultraviolet, radiation and fire.

Indoors, with their help, you can create an ideal microclimate for a person, because the floors do not emit dust, do not spread toxins and are not able to affect changes in humidity levels. As for the smell, you can not worry, because it disappears within 2 hours after pouring.

Main disadvantages

The self-leveling floor "Horizon Eunice" can be chosen by you if you familiarize yourself not only with the advantages, but also with the main disadvantages. Among the latter, a meager selection of colors and patterns should be highlighted. In addition, before starting work, it will be necessary to prepare a rough coating, level the surface and control the level of humidity.

After pouring and drying the composition, it will be quite difficult to cope with the dismantling of the layer. Sometimes consumers refuse self-leveling floors also because of their high cost and complexity of repair. Installing such coatings is also quite expensive, this is true when compared with conventional floor solutions.

Instructions for using the floor "Horizon Eunice"

Self-leveling floor "Horizont Eunice" is designed to prepare smooth, durable surfaces on which, at the next stage, a decorative floor covering or a thin-layer self-leveling floor will be laid. The composition is universal, because it can be used for interior or exterior work. The mixture is suitable for wet and dry rooms, and can also be used in conjunction with underfloor heating systems.

Surface preparation

"Eunice Horizon" universal should be applied to a previously prepared surface. When carrying out work at the stage of drying the composition, it is necessary to observe the air temperature in the range from +5 to +30 ° C, while the humidity level should not exceed 75%.

It is important to make sure that the base is dry and strong. Before application, crumbling elements, oil and bituminous stains, paint coatings and other contaminants that could interfere with the adhesion of materials are removed from the surface.

"Eunice Horizon" universal should be applied to a primed surface, which should not be dusty. Cracks and potholes, the depth of which is more than 10 cm, must be repaired with a Horizont screed, this must be done three days before the start of the main work. Vertical surfaces must be covered with edge tape before installation around the perimeter of the room. Its width should be chosen depending on the expected thickness of the future layer.

Solution preparation

Solution "Unis Horizon" must be prepared beforehand. To do this, the dry mixture is placed in a container with clean water. For 1 kg of the composition, approximately 0.14 liters of water will be needed. The mixture is then stirred until a homogeneous mass is obtained.

This can be done in a mechanized way, using the set at low speed. Manual mixing is permissible if the mass of the mixture does not exceed 1 kg. The solution is then left for 5 minutes, and then re-mixed. The prepared portion must be used up within 120 minutes.

Important to remember

The mixing of the solution must be carried out according to a certain technology; it excludes the addition of other components to the dry mixture, except for water. It is no longer possible to add water to the finished solution, this may cause a change in the properties of the material. For this process, it is recommended to use only clean tools and containers.

Drying time and some technical data

Hardening time is a parameter that most consumers are interested in. If the thickness of the laid layer is 10 mm, then this period can last from 2 to 5 days. It will be possible to walk on the surface with the same layer thickness after 6 hours.

The thickness of the laid layer can vary from 10 to 50 mm. For 1 m 2 with the above parameters, it will take about 20 kg of dry mix. The frost resistance of the composition is 35 cycles, while the compressive strength is 200 kg / cm².

Carrying out alignment

As soon as the solution is ready, it can be laid out on the surface, evenly distributing the rule over the base. Laying ceramic tiles after completion of work is possible only after the surface has dried. If the floor has differences of more than 50 mm, then it should be applied in several layers. Before proceeding with laying the next layer, it is necessary to wait for the previous one to dry completely, which will take 28 days. Before this, the surface is treated with soil and dust-free.

Installation instructions for the floor "Horizon 2"

"Horizon 2" is a composition that is designed for thin-layer leveling of surfaces with subsequent laying of parquet, linoleum, laminate and ceramic tiles. If the differences on the floor do not exceed 5 mm, then the installation of beacons is not required. The prepared portion must be poured, and then rolled with a spiked roller. The next portion of the solution must be poured no later than 20 minutes from the moment the mixture is closed. Each new portion must be poured away from the previous one so that the mixture can spontaneously spread.

"Horizon 2" may be flooded with some interruptions. This is true if the area is more than 100 m 2. At the same time, 2-cm seams are left between the areas to be poured, which are filled with a spatula 6 hours after applying the last portion of the solution.

The composition of the floor "Horizon"

The composition of the self-leveling floor is of interest to some experts. If you are one of them, then you should know that among the ingredients are:

  • polymer additives;
  • crushed limestone.

If we compare cement from the Horizon mixture, then in chemical composition it will not differ from Portland cement, however, during its manufacture, the clinker is crushed more strongly, so the particle size is 2 times smaller. This allows cement to gain strength up to 60% in just 5 hours. However, after that, the process slows down and proceeds normally. That is why we can assume that the composition of the self-leveling floor determines some of the characteristics of the described mixture.

floor cost

Usually, when calculating the price of a material, the cost of the composition for puttying and sealing cracks, as well as the mixture for washing technological containers and tools, is not taken into account. The cost of self-leveling floor per square meter is 400 rubles. It does not indicate the price for the primer composition, which must be applied before starting work.

Conclusion

The cost of a self-leveling floor per square meter is one of the most important factors that affects the final choice of the consumer. If you have already purchased a floor leveling compound, you must remember that it must be used after the installation of the beacons. They are located at a distance of 2 m from each other across the entire width of the surface.

To do this, at the intended installation site of the beacons, it is necessary to apply the Horizon solution, into which the elements are pressed. They can be a metal corner or a tube. Correct installation must be checked using the building level. Further work should be carried out 5 hours after the installation of the beacons.

The floor in the house can be any, but bulk is the best option. This type is a finishing layer of a coating without seams. Its other name is liquid linoleum.

One of the most popular samples is the self-leveling floor "Horizon" from the Unis trademark. It, like any other product, has its advantages and disadvantages. But everything should be discussed in order.

Peculiarities

Unis products include a complete set of materials to ensure home comfort:

  • waterproofing composition;
  • elements that can be used to level and prime the coating;
  • plasters, putties;
  • grout and tile adhesive.

The composition of the self-leveling floor "Horizon" includes the following ingredients:

  • fractional sand;
  • mineral components;
  • polymers;
  • additives to improve the reliability of the floor.

Floor "Horizon" is presented in several forms:

  1. self-leveling floor "Horizon"- used to cover the installation of decorative elements or topcoat. It is most often used in the "Warm House" system and is available in 20 kg bags.
  2. "Horizon 2"- applied as a finishing covering layer. It can also be used before installing parquet, tiles or decorative laminate. Available in packs of 25 kg.
  3. "Universal Horizon"– provides an ideal surface that can be used for bulk coating. Is issued in packages on 20 and 25 kg.
  4. "Horizon Ultra"– eliminates differences from 5 to 60 mm, recommended for subsequent laying of floor coverings. It is used for the "Floating floor" and "Warm floor" systems. Effective in heated rooms with medium to high humidity, such as kitchens, bathrooms and toilets. Available in packs of 20 or 23 kg.

Advantages

"Horizont", being a product of a domestic manufacturer, is in no way inferior to foreign models in a number of indicators:

  • It is worth noting the aesthetic component of the Unis floor: it creates a perfectly flat surface with a soft, pleasant sheen. One of the advantages of "Horizon" is that this floor is self-levelling. The most optimal surface for it is dense gypsum, cement with sand or concrete. The chances of shrinkage on the surface are minimal. "Horizon" eliminates bends, cracks and potholes on the surface screed.

Not the last role is played by a needle spatula, which is best aligned with a unique solution. It is recommended to dilute the mixture with the maximum recommended amount of water so that the floor spreads better.

  • Durability is another key characteristic of Unis products. This floor is durable. Upon purchase, a guarantee for 15 years of service is given.
  • The Unis floor is fast curing, which means that it does not take much time to install. It dries in 2-3 hours, after which the owner can walk around the room without risk. But to lay out the finishing material, you will need to wait about half a day. Optimum strength is ensured by the consumption, which is 13 kg of mixture per square meter of surface. It is desirable that the layer for work be no more than 10 mm thick.
  • This floor has a good quality screed. An important nuance: the floor screed retains heat more efficiently if a damper tape is used. In addition, it also protects the screed from vibrations and other physical influences. For a room with standard dimensions, you will need a tape 10 meters long. Otherwise, the floor will be covered with cracks in less than six months. This building material must be installed before pouring.

  • "Universal Horizon" is environmentally friendly and safe for health, it can be installed in schools, kindergartens and clinics.
  • "Horizon universal" can be laid screed not only indoors, but also in open space. Moreover, the self-leveling floor is adapted to any place, regardless of the level of humidity and frost.

If the owner of the house is interested in the interior decoration of the space, Horizon Eco-Pol is recommended for use. But it will be most effective in a room with heating and low humidity. This material is used as the finishing touch in a decorative coating. It is great for tiles and parquet boards. It contains natural gypsum.

  • Saving money also characterizes Horizon Eco-Pol, since this mixture requires very little consumption.

disadvantages

Unis products, with all the above pluses, are not without minuses, so they need to be given no less attention:

  • High quality products require great skill and professionalism in use.
  • Before laying the self-leveling floor, the owner of the house must carefully check the base. If there are various greasy stains or dust on it, the mixture will not adhere to the coating.
  • The slope of the working surface should be minimal, not more than 4 mm. Otherwise, the mixture will not be able to spread evenly.

  • Since Horizon is a sensitive material, no air conditioners or heating devices should operate in the room during laying.
  • The instructions for use indicate that for 25 kg of the mixture, no more than 5.5 liters of water will be required. However, in this situation, the mixture may turn out to be too thick. It can fill holes with a diameter of 100-200 mm and a depth of 2-5 mm. But in wider and deeper pits, the mixture is half leveled, because it only repeats the relief. The optimal water consumption is from 6 to 6.3 liters, but no more.
  • Since the floor dries quickly, the owner needs an assistant. Otherwise, he may not have time to level the floor, especially in a large room.

  • "Horizon" can be used even on a wet floor, but not too wet. An excessively liquid mixture cannot provide the floor with the desired evenness and reliability. The work surface should be at least slightly dry.
  • Some Unis buyers note the high cost of the brand's products. However, the previously mentioned advantages of the product are more than able to recoup the cash costs.

Instructions for use

To avoid overlaps, the owner of the house must clearly follow the action plan during the work on creating a new floor:

  • First you need to carefully prepare the surface. It is necessary to dismantle the plinth, remove the old paint, glue, varnish. To do this, use a spatula, a metal brush or a grinder.
  • It is required to check that the moisture content of the wood is no more than 10% and only then sand open cracks with sandpaper.
  • It is necessary to remove debris with an industrial vacuum cleaner and treat the floor with a degreasing mixture.

  • It is necessary to fill the cracks with a special resin mixture.
  • Prepare concrete mix for screed. The moisture content of the concrete base should not exceed 4%, the compressive strength of the coating should be at least 20 MPa, and the peel strength should be 1.5 MPa.
  • The concrete screed is leveled with a putty based on a binder component.

  • Then the surface is primed with a brush or roller. Each layer is applied after the previous one has completely dried.
  • A day after the primer, you can prepare the material for pouring: the mixture in the container is diluted with water and mixed with an electric drill several times with a break of 1-2 minutes; the mixture should not have lumps or bubbles.
  • It is recommended to start laying the self-leveling floor away from the entrance. It is necessary to fill the composition constantly to avoid high-altitude differences. Moreover, it is necessary to pour in strips, parallel to the wall onto the screed. It is advisable to use a spiked roller to eliminate air bubbles.

  • The next portion of the mixture is placed in the same way. The intervals between laying should not exceed 10 minutes.
  • At the end of the pouring, it is recommended to cover the floor with a film or foil to protect it from dust. This will help the mixture to solidify evenly.

The temperature in the room should not be less than 15 and not more than 25 degrees. The maximum allowable humidity is 80%.

During the work, as well as during the drying period of the solution, the air temperature in the room should be within the range from +5 to +30 ° C and the humidity level should not exceed 75%.

Foundation preparation:

Solution preparation:

To prepare the solution, pour the dry mixture into a container with clean water in the proportion of 0.17-0.22 liters per 1 kg of the dry mixture and mix for 3-5 minutes using a professional mixer at low speed. Let the solution stand for 1-2 minutes and stir again. Manual mixing is allowed when the mass of the mixed mixture is not more than 1 kg. If necessary, add water or dry mix. For large areas, mixing and application with mixing and blowing machines is recommended. The prepared portion of the solution should be used up within 30 minutes.

Attention! When preparing the solution, it is necessary to observe the ratio "dry mixture - water".

It is not allowed to add other components to the dry mix, except for water. The addition of any components, including water, to an already prepared solution leads to a change in the properties of the material declared by the manufacturer. To prepare the solution, use only clean containers and tools.

Material application:

Pour the prepared solution onto the prepared base and level to a homogeneous layer using a spiked roller. Pour the next portion of the solution onto the surface no later than 40 minutes from the moment of mixing the first portion. The distance between the poured portions should be sufficient for their spontaneous merging.

When applying by machine, set the initial water flow to about 5.5-5.75 liters. per 1 bag of the mixture (25 kg), then adjust the consistency of the mortar mixture by changing the amount of water to 0.17-0.22 liters per 1 kg of the mixture. Apply the solution evenly on the base until the specified level is reached, additionally distributing it with a rule or a rail. The pouring area is selected based on the fact that the time of using the prepared mortar mixture is 30-35 minutes, and the mortar mixture applied to the surface must be processed immediately after pouring the solution.

When applying by machine, hoses and mechanisms must be washed with water no later than 20 minutes after stopping the machine.

Filling large areas when it is impossible to comply with the technology of continuous pouring.

Floor drying time and laying floor coverings:
