Specifications Nissan Patrol. Nissan Patrol Y62 - lost world Owner's manuals

(2014 restyling) has almost the widest arsenal of off-road tools among all Nissan models. Under the hood of the car, the only option for the power plant was registered, but which one is a 5.6-liter naturally aspirated V8 engine with a return of 405 hp. (560 Nm). It is paired with a 7-speed automatic transmission. The tandem provides good dynamics, allowing the almost three-ton colossus to reach the speed limit of 100 km/h in just 6.6 seconds.

The All Mode 4 × 4 all-wheel drive system, based on the original rear-wheel drive scheme, is responsible for the distribution of torque between the Nissan Patrol axles. The suspension is made completely independent. Both front and rear use double wishbone designs, complemented by a hydraulic roll suppression system (HBMC). The ground clearance of the car is an impressive 273 mm.

A gasoline engine with a decent cubic capacity is clearly not designed for fuel economy. According to passport data, on average, it consumes about 14.5 liters of fuel. The actual fuel consumption of the Nissan Patrol is approaching 20 liters per 100 kilometers.

Nissan Patrol engine characteristics

The VK56VD engine with a working volume of 5.6 liters is capable of delivering up to 405 hp. power at a peak torque of 506 Nm. Optimum traction characteristics and acceleration are achieved thanks to a number of technological solutions. Thus, a direct injection system with a high-pressure pump and nozzles that spray fuel directly into the combustion chamber at a pressure of about 15 MPa contributes to better filling of the cylinders and reduces detonation. The variable valve timing and valve lift adjustment system VVEL increases engine power, increases efficiency, and reduces exhaust emissions. Engine timing valves have a diamond-like coating, the clearance is adjusted by selecting pushers. The camshafts of both rows of cylinders are driven by a chain drive.

Nissan Patrol Y62 all-wheel drive scheme

The Nissan Patrol all-wheel drive system, called All Mode 4 × 4, is built according to the so-called Torque-on-Demand scheme (“torque on demand”). In this case, there is an initial rear-wheel drive layout, which provides for the connection of the front axle when the rear wheels slip or is forced. There is no center differential, and the distribution of forces is controlled by an electromechanical clutch installed in the transfer case housing along with a reduction gear. The rear differential is equipped with a locking mechanism actuated by a solenoid valve.

The choice of the operating mode of the drive is carried out by means of a washer. In the Auto position, the torque ratio changes from 0:100 to 50:50 automatically, based on readings from multiple sensors. Switching to 4H mode leads to blocking of the center clutch and forced connection of the front axle. In 4L mode, a “lower” is activated, which has a gear ratio of 2.679: 1. You can hard lock the rear differential using a button located in the same block as the rotary drive control switch.

Overcoming individual sections of the road will greatly facilitate the preset settings that affect the algorithm of the drive and a number of vehicle systems. They are activated by buttons on the same puck. There are options "Asphalt", "Sand", "Rocks" and "Snow".

The Nissan Patrol is a Japanese full-size SUV produced by Nissan since 1951. The model is quite popular in many countries. It can be called the main rival. In the North American market, the car competes with Japanese luxury SUVs in the niche. The entire range of Nissan.

Car history

First generation (1951-1960)

When September 1951 came, the 4W60 version came out, which the factory workers called the Nissan Store. A little later, it was renamed the Nissan Bluebird Store. The 4W60 had a 75-horsepower 3.7-liter Nissan NAK power unit from the Nissan 290 bus.

In addition, there was a plug-in all-wheel drive and a four-speed “mechanics”. The radiator grille received a steel nameplate. On top of that, they developed the 4W70 transporter version. Later, the 4W60 was replaced in construction with the 4W61 model. It happened in the summer of 1955.

The novelty was close to the debut model, except for the grille, one-piece windshield, chrome stripes on the hood and seats of various sizes (the passenger seat was slightly wider than the driver's seat). Other significant changes have affected the power plant.

A new 3.7-liter Nissan NB engine was installed on the 1955 car, developing 92 horsepower. After a while, it was replaced by a 105-horsepower 4.0-liter Nissan NC engine. The NISSAN nameplate itself on the grille was painted red, where there was a chrome lettering and edging. When October 1958 arrived, a replacement called 4W65 came out.

4W65

In addition to the grille and modified front fenders and hood, the 4W65 version was similar to the 4W61. The name "NISSAN" remained on the grille, and badges with the name "Patrol" were added to the side of the hood.

You could buy the WG4W65 version, which was an 8-seat station wagon that had a folding hardtop. The short series 4W66 Patrol was released at the end of 1959. There was only one difference - these versions were equipped with 4.0-liter engines that produced 125 “horses”. Production was discontinued in the summer of 1960.

WG4W65

The off-road version of the car had a utilitarian, however, reliable design - a powerful ladder-type frame, the wheels of which were attached to the dependent suspension “in a circle”. Leaf springs also found their place. The off-road car Nissan Patrol of the 1st generation received a hydraulic brake system with drum mechanisms on all wheels.

At that time, the Japanese did not install power steering. In general, the Nissan Patrol of the 1st family was bought to a greater extent for the armies and law enforcement agencies of various countries. "Civilian" versions can be found only in private configurations.

Second generation (1959-1980)

The novelty (at that time) debuted in 1960 and replaced the 4WXX line in construction. They produced an SUV in serial order until 1980 without significant design changes. But modest improvements, nevertheless, found their place, and they were regular.

In total, Japanese workers have produced and released more than 170,000 copies of the sixtieth series. The second generation Patrol was offered in 6 body styles, where there was an open top, a station wagon version with a dismantled steel top, a long wheelbase version with 3 doors, a pickup truck, a fire truck and a chassis for special bodies.

The second family of Nissan Patrol was equipped with a 6-cylinder 4.0-liter diesel "aspirated", which developed no more than 130 "horses" and 300 Nm of torque. At the very beginning, the “engine” worked together with a three-speed manual gearbox, and after a while it was replaced by a mechanical four-speed gearbox.

The Jeep had an all-wheel drive system without a center differential. It was possible to connect the front wheels, and the transfer case had a couple of rows of gear ratios. If we talk about the constructive part of the car, it has not undergone significant changes in relation to the previous generation.

There is the presence of the same powerful ladder-type frame, dependent suspension on two axles, leaf springs and fully drum brakes on 4 wheels. It is almost impossible to see the second generation Nissan Patrol with your own eyes, since very few cars could survive in good condition to our time.

At the time of its production, the model was famous for its indestructible body, excellent off-road performance and high-torque power unit.

Third generation (1980-1989)

In the autumn of 1980, the Nissan Patrol 3 SUV with the index "160" was officially presented at the Paris Motor Show. The car was in demand not only among civilians, but also in the service of the armed forces of different countries. Moreover, the third generation Nissan Patrol was used during United Nations peacekeeping operations.

A similar Patrol model was produced until 2003 (in the form of a 260 version since 1986), despite the release in 1987 of the next generation of the car. The third generation Patrol is a full-size SUV available in three-door soft-top, 5-door all-metal and 2- or 4-door pickup.

As a technical equipment, the car received one of 6 power units, depending on which modification is used in this case. Of these, 5 are diesel atmospheric turbocharged four-cylinder variants, as well as V-shaped six-cylinder, the volume of which varies from 2.8 to 3.3 liters.

Engines develop from 95 to 125 "horses". In addition, the engineers provided for a gasoline version, represented by an in-line four-cylinder 2.8-liter naturally aspirated engine that develops 121 horsepower. There are 2 transmission options to choose from: a five-speed manual or a three-range robotic gearbox.

The model could be either with rear-wheel drive or with all-wheel drive. At the same time, the wheels installed in front are connected manually using a clutch, and an inter-wheel differential of increased friction is used on the rear. In the technical component of the Nissan Patrol 3, the family has not changed dramatically when compared with previous families.

There is a frame body structure and dependent suspension with rigid bridges on springs. According to Nissan Patrol owner reviews, many note a reliable design, high-torque power plants, excellent cross-country ability, an acceptable degree of maintainability, a roomy interior and good equipment.

There were some drawbacks: the car received a stiffer suspension, a high price of original parts, a small supply of free space for rear passengers and poor sound insulation.

Fourth generation - Y60 (1987-1997)

The fourth series of Nissan Patrol with the Y60 value appeared on the market since 1987, and its production was launched at the Japanese plant. Just such jeeps, which are distinguished by a square body, are well known to the Russians - at the end of the 1980s they were imported by barter into the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics. Models existed until 1997, after which the 4th family was replaced by the 5th.

The 4th generation Patrol model in Japan began to be called Safari. Such machines were distinguished by an on-board network for 24V instead of the standard 12V.

The fourth generation Nissan Patrol was offered in 5 versions: hardtop, high hardtop, station wagon version, pickup and high van. For the models, a wide range of in-line 6-cylinder power units was provided. For example, the 1994 Nissan Patrol could come with naturally aspirated gasoline engines ranging from 3.0 to 4.2 liters, which produced from 136 to 184 “horses” and from 224 to 320 Nm of torque.

There were also diesel engines with a volume of 2.8–4.2 liters, which developed 92–170 horsepower and 170–363 Nm of ultimate thrust. The "engines" were synchronized with a 5-speed manual or 4-speed automatic transmission. Engineers equipped the SUV with rear-wheel drive or all 4, where there was an increased slip differential and a rear differential lock.

The modern Nissan Patrol car is distinguished among classmates by its increased cross-country ability and all-wheel drive, which is why many motorists love the model as a professional SUV.

When August 1993 arrived, fuel consumption was reduced on TD42 engines. However, this entailed an undesirable drop in the power of the power plant. The unique "engine" had a silver cylinder head cover, and the new unit was highlighted in black. On the motor, the placement of the vacuum pump was changed. On top of that, airbags for the driver began to be installed on some cars of the European version.

In 1995, the car underwent a modest restyling, where the front grille was redesigned. The structural basis of the Nissan Patrol 4 implied a spar frame and dependent spring suspension on both axles, where an anti-roll bar was installed on the front and rear axles.

The steering wheel was controlled by a hydraulic booster. All wheels already at that time had disc brakes, and the front ones were ventilated.

The Jeep received many good qualities, which include a simple and reliable design, a powerful frame, excellent off-road performance, affordable service, a fairly roomy interior and acceptable equipment. However, many do not like the presence of a stiff suspension, high fuel consumption, a brooding automatic transmission and uncomfortable seats.

Fifth generation - Y61 (1997)

Automobile company "Nissan Motor Company Ltd" ranks many wonderful cars. Among them is the Japanese Nissan Patrol of the 5th generation, which clearly stands out among similar models in a niche.

The best compliment for Patrol is that in all the troubled and roadless parts of the Earth, the workers of the United Nations use these vehicles during their missions. It is worth noting that the vehicle deserves such responsibility and fully justifies itself.

Since 1997, the Japanese company began to produce the Nissan Patrol of the 5th family. When 2004 came, the car was modernized. Many people call "Patrol Y61" a real SUV, which has a masculine character and brutal appearance. This eloquently confirms the appearance and interior of the SUV.

Throughout his appearance, his conservative and indifferent attitude to automotive fashion is noticeable, since the model was designed to work in remote lands, and some pathos innovations were nothing to him. Even a child can easily characterize the appearance of a car: large, with a square shape, but simple.

In the interior space, the car also does not have exquisite elements, especially when compared with the modernized cars of competitors. There is no wood, soft leather, chrome and a V-shaped eight-cylinder super-engine. Perhaps for this reason, he loses in sales to all rivals.

Quite unusually, those who buy these cars are happy because they feel free from it and don't have the desire to pay 1.5 times more for slightly more comfortable interior details, smoother body lines and a pair of modern headlights. Inside the car, everything looks banal, but all the elements are located where they belong.

The interior design of the fifth generation Nissan Patrol is quite solid. You can complain a little about the lack of visibility of the mirror that is installed inside the car, but this disadvantage is compensated by large side mirrors. Although it is worth saying that the modernization that took place in 2004, nevertheless, added a little freshness to the interior design. The quality of the plastic used has grown, and the color schemes have become more interesting.

The "fifth Patrol" was based on a classic, corrosion-resistant frame structure, to which continuous bridges and dependent suspensions are attached. Such a base is ideal for heavy off-road. All-wheel drive system can be connected. The machine has a locking rear cross-axle differential, which, due to its simplicity, is quite reliable during operation.

The Japanese SUV inspires confidence, respect and a sense of security. Anyone who has ever ridden in this car felt that she was not killed. When serious bumps appear in front of the car, the suspension responds to them harshly. To turn around, a considerable radius is required, which characterizes a large base.

The car handles great in a straight line. However, the car reluctantly changes the direction of its movement - this is felt when the steering wheel commands are delayed. The weight of the 5th generation Nissan Patrol Y61 is 2.5 tons. The volume of the luggage compartment is 810 liters of usable space.

Under the hood, a 4.8-liter inline six-cylinder 245-horsepower engine with a five-speed automatic transmission is installed. All this allows the car to accelerate to 190 kilometers per hour. They also provided for a 3.0-liter diesel unit, which produces about 160 “horses”. It is paired with a 5-speed manual or 4-speed automatic transmission.

Consumption is very immodest - outside the city, about 15 liters, and in urban mode, even 25 liters for every hundred kilometers for a gasoline power unit. As for the diesel version, it is a little more modest - 14/9 liters for every hundred kilometers, respectively.

Sixth generation (2010–present)

The sixth generation Nissan Patrol is still the same four-wheel drive SUV beloved by many, which was once again presented to the public at an exhibition in the UAE in 2010. Since then, the active distribution of this model around the world began.

In the specification, this car is listed under the index Y62. Compared to previous generations, the sixth has undergone significant changes not only in design, but also in the technical part. Below you can find information about Nissan Patrol technical specifications.

Exterior

If we say that the 6th generation of the Nissan Patrol SUV turned out to be big, then this would not be true, because the car came out just huge. Bypassing the car, you never cease to be surprised not only by its solid body dimensions, but also by the smoothness of the lines and the sophistication of the forms of an off-road car.

There really is a feeling that you have a cruise yacht in front of you, the purpose of which is not to sail on water, but to move along the land surface of the Earth. Thanks to the roof rails, an auxiliary luggage compartment can be installed. The nose of the car looks like a large chest of drawers of an expensive furniture set with a massive table top and a stylish frame of a radiator grille in a chrome frame.

There are also slanted headlights, a compact bumper cut at the bottom and fog lamps added for the whole picture. Thanks to the structure of the front bumper, you can not only climb high curbs and increase the geometric cross-country ability of the car, but also demonstrate to everyone the strong front suspension arms, the thickness of which is like a bodybuilder's forearm.

On the side, the SUV has classic flat rooflines and a sill, huge wheel arches where you can put big wheels, and in the basic version there are 20-inch rollers. There are smooth outlines and puffy surfaces of wings and doors.

The large dimensions of the doorways, which are rectangular in shape, together with the side steps, not only add solidity to the car, but also serve as excellent helpers when boarding the driver and passengers in an SUV, which is quite a lot.

In general, it’s hard to say that people get into the car, because you simply enter the 6th generation Nissan Patrol, only tilting your head slightly, as if bowing respectfully to the car. The stern, although it seems quite simple, but if you look at it more closely, you understand that it is not only attractive, but also functional.

The rear tailgate is electrically operated (only the launch model does not have this comfort option). Thanks to it, you have access to a huge hold of an off-road car Nissan Patrol 6 of the family.

The new SUV looks like a chic and expensive car, which is partly achieved with the help of a special entourage with an abundance of chrome elements, which include the presence of roof rails, glass frames, door handles, air vents that are located on the wings in front, and strips on the rear door for the luggage compartment.

Base black will be offered as a body color. For 28,000 rubles, it will be possible to paint the car in one of white, silver, gray, gray-green, light beige or purple. Also, the aft part has a spoiler, which protects the rear window from dirt and improves the streamlining of the car, which, in turn, reduces fuel consumption at high speeds. Of course, he is not able to strongly press this heavy car. The following describes the Nissan Patrol dimensions. The same article has information about the fuel consumption of the Nissan Patrol.

Body dimensions are as follows:

  • Length 5140 mm;
  • Width 1995 mm;
  • Height 1934 mm;
  • Wheelbase 3075 mm;
  • Clearance 274 mm.

Interior

When you sit behind the steering wheel of the Nissan Patrol of the 6th family, the leather upholstery of the seats, door cards and almost the entire front panel immediately catches your eye. The interior is so chic that it can surpass its closest rival, the Toyota Land Cruiser. The chairs received, in addition to the equipment of electric drives, the adjustment of the lumbar support, which also functions with the help of an electric drive.

The driver's seat can be raised so that even a short person can see the right and left corner of the hood, which is very handy given the difficult terrain. In order to start the power unit of the Nissan Patrol 6 SUV, you need to keep the key fob in your bag or somewhere nearby and press the start / stop key.

The steering wheel was sheathed in leather and contains 4 spokes, which once again reminds us of what a solid car we are in. The multimedia system comes with a screen that supports touch input, something that Patrol's closest rivals lack. A considerable number of cars are tinted, but if the driver needs to drive towards the sun, then you can use the sun visors, which are very large in this SUV.

Those people who sit in the back are given just a lot of free space. Separately, I would like to mention the climate system for the back row, to be more precise, about the air vents. They were placed above the doorway, which looks a bit like going to a store, when after entering it, warm or cold air blows from above.

The manufacturer assures that such a solution makes it possible to improve the efficiency of the air conditioning of the entire interior of the SUV. The climate system unit in the car is located in the rear wall of the box between the seats installed in front. The rear seat backs can be adjusted thanks to the servo, which also makes the car more status.

The SUV also has a third row of seats, which is perfect for family people. However, despite the fact that Patrol is large, there is not enough free space in the third row. Nevertheless, the presence of armrests and coasters in the very last places is provided.

Salon was carried out very high quality, solid, expensive and elegant. The materials correspond to the premium class, there is black or beige leather, the presence of carpet, wood inserts on the front panel, center console, tunnel and door cards. After getting into the Nissan Patrol 6 car, I immediately want to check if the shoes are clean so as not to stain such a beautiful interior.

The front two seats are heated and ventilated. Thanks to the barely noticeable side bolsters, the driver or passenger will feel confident when cornering and when driving off-road. The seat, along with the steering column and mirrors, are electrically operated and have the option of storing the preset settings.

The leather steering wheel looks great, the radii of the instrument panel look rather strict, but they are pleasantly diluted by the color display of the onboard computer. All devices are distinguished by their informativeness and readability. The color touch screen can display all the necessary information from the navigation system, cameras that provide panoramic visibility.

Setting up the navigation system and cameras can be done on a convenient block, which was placed below the screen. Under the unit, a Bose music system with support for CD, MP3, DVD, USB, iPod, designed for 13 speakers, has found its place. Below all, a three-zone climate control tuning unit is installed.

Multifunctional color touch display

The first row of seats makes it possible to sit comfortably for the driver and the passenger sitting next to him, even with considerable dimensions. The second row has a heating option, and it accommodates 3 people. There is also plenty of space, like in a limousine. The third row allows you to sit as if on a hill, opening a wide passage.

Sitting in the 3rd row is quite comfortable, but sitting is not so comfortable with bent knees. Therefore, there is only room for a couple of people, but the width of the place is enough for three. Information about Nissan Patrol specifications can be found below.

Comfort in the cabin:

  • Power steering with automatic speed control;
  • Power steering;
  • Multifunctional leather steering wheel;
  • Cruise control with steering wheel controls;
  • Audio control on the steering wheel;
  • Rain sensor;
  • Button to start, stop the engine;
  • Power side mirrors;
  • Side mirror settings memory;
  • Electric folding rear-view mirrors;
  • Power tailgate;
  • Electric steering column;
  • Driver's seat memory.

Specifications

power unit

Speaking about the power plant, I would like to say that the Japanese did not invent anything new here and installed the already proven powerful 32-valve 5.6-liter V8 engine, where there is a valve timing and valve opening degree control system (VVEL), and a direct fuel injection system ( DIG), which makes it possible to maximize the use of the design capabilities of the power unit.

It allows you to use 405 horsepower at 5,800 rpm. At 4,000 rpm, a torque limit of 56 Nm is reached. The first hundred is reached in 6.6 seconds, and the maximum speed is 210 kilometers per hour.

The average consumption of gasoline, according to the developers, will be about 14.5 liters per 100 kilometers, but judging by the experience of the previous pre-styling model, it is still necessary to rely on the figure of 16.0 liters.

Independent tests show that in a city with traffic jams, the car requires about 22 liters. On the highway, the indicator drops to 12-13 liters, depending on the speed.

Transmission

The operation of the “engine” is synchronized only with a 7-speed automatic gearbox. The technical component of the 6th generation Nissan Patrol includes a new body with a reinforced frame built into the power body structure and an All Mode 4 × 4 all-wheel drive transmission.

Thanks to the electromagnetic clutch, which is responsible for turning on the front axle, it is possible, depending on the road, to drive in one of three modes, which are selected by the driver with the setting wheel located on the central tunnel.

  • Automatic mode - the torque goes to the front axle using electronics, depending on how the rear wheels will slip.
  • 4H - the clutch is rigidly blocked, and the result is a permanent four-wheel drive.
  • 4L - in addition to blocking the clutch, a lower gear is engaged (used for difficult off-road).

You can also press the key and turn on the rear axle differential lock. You can even choose the required adjustments for the operation of the gearbox on the track, stones, sand, mud or snow.

Suspension

The engineering staff provided for the presence of an original system that works with body roll when turning and body vibrations when driving on difficult surfaces (HBMC). Also, the latest update that came to the 6th Nissan Patrol family allows you to better cope with large rolls at high speeds.

It turns out, despite its impressive size, the off-road car, as before, and most likely even better, began to be well controlled, it is informative. Both front and rear are equipped with an independent double wishbone suspension.

Brake system

The machine has a reliable disc brake system with ventilation function on all wheels. In addition, various electronic type assistants are provided.

Despite its rather long history, the Japanese vehicle has been subjected to a large number of tests more than once, however, only the 5th and 6th families were able to get the long-awaited 5 stars. According to the results of the Nissan Patrol Euro NCAP crash test, the results exceeded all expectations.

The safety level for an adult passenger is 90 percent, for pedestrians - 75 percent, for a child - 85 percent. Active safety at 89 percent. On top of that, the car was able to win 5 stars in the following tests.

Frontal collision with a deformable barrier at a speed of 64 km/h, impact with a side stand at a speed of 50 km/h, a collision with a pole at a speed of 30 km/h and an accident with dummy pedestrians at a speed of 40 km/h. The front impact was rated 4 out of 5 possible stars. As for the legs of the driver and the passenger sitting in front, everything is in order there.

Comparison with competitors

Due to the fact that Nissan Patrol was able to move from a group of serious SUVs to an army of large and pretentious SUVs, it is necessary to talk about its competitors. This is with a cost of 2,680,000 rubles, Chevrolet Tahoe, Infiniti QX56, the price of which is 700,000 rubles more than the price of Nissan.

In addition, this includes the Mercedes-Benz GL, the cost of which starts at 3,000,000 rubles and the main worst competitor from the same Japan - The cost of the latest model is about 2,942,000 rubles.

Nissan Patrol is a full-size off-road SUV. It has been on the assembly line since 1951. For many decades, the car has earned a reputation as a reliable and popular SUV all over the world, which, in terms of its characteristics, is a direct competitor to the Toyota Land Cruiser. Now the sixth generation of Nissan Patrol is being produced. This vehicle is equipped with advanced technologies, including electronic systems to improve off-road ability.

Nissan Patrol owner reviews

Generation 4 Y60

With 2.8 diesel engine

  • Boris, Nizhny Novgorod region. Bought a 1995 Patrol. The car is a real SUV, right for all occasions. To match the purpose of this car, I installed tires with the highest profile. With them, the car rides very smoothly, the ride is wonderful. Under the hood is a 2.8-liter diesel engine with a capacity of 115 horses. It is unpretentious and reliable, but requires high-quality fuel. And he also loves good motor oil, but I do not regret money for such a car. For the city, this car is not an option. Mediocre handling, weak brakes, an almost empty steering wheel, etc. make the Patrol unsuitable for the city, but this is so, roughly speaking. In extreme cases, you can ride, but not for long. Off-road fuel consumption is an average of 15 liters.
  • Oleg, St. Petersburg. The car is just for me, I myself love to tumble in the mud and ruts. I am an off-road specialist and have driven many SUVs. These are mainly foreign cars, such as Land Cruiser, Jeep Wrangler, Mitsubishi Pajero and others. Nissan Patrol impressed me pleasantly. Off-road behaves confidently, all-wheel drive works as it should. With a 2.8 engine, fuel consumption is a maximum of 14 liters per hundred.
  • Vitaly, Smolensk. Nissan Patrol is a standing car purely for off-road use, and for the city I use a passenger Solaris. Despite the diesel, the Patrol is very voracious - on average, it turns out at least 12 liters per hundred.
  • Nikolai, Vologda region. I liked the car, I have a copy of 1994, with the original 2.8-liter diesel engine with a return of 95 horses. Great car, it is designed to give pleasure every day on the road. Quite a serious device, not like some kind of crossovers - now they have gone into fashion. My Patrol is equipped with a manual transmission, and consumes an average of 12 liters per 100 km.

With 4.2 engine

  • Dmitry, Yaroslavl. I bought a car in 1996, in a fully pumped version. The previous owner did a great job - probably an off-road specialist. And I also bought Patrol just for this pleasure. Moreover, a car of this level has an inexhaustible off-road potential. The 4.2 diesel puts out a reasonable 145 horsepower, enough for my needs. The traction reserve is excellent, you can overcome fords and snow slides without particularly accelerating. Fuel consumption is about 14 liters per hundred run.
  • Anna, Lipetsk. A car for all occasions, captivates with its brutal design and high comfort in the cabin. The inside is really comfortable and very spacious. The ride is just royal, especially with high-profile tires. Under the hood is a 4.2-liter diesel engine that consumes no more than 15 liters.
  • Vladimir, Taganrog. Nissan Patrol is not a car for everyone, it is more suitable for off-road lovers than as a car for every day or for city driving. By the way, in the city the car eats 14 liters, and off-road - 14-15 liters.
  • Svyatoslav, Bryansk. I have a car in 1994, now on the odometer under 200 thousand km. I am her third owner, I try to get serviced in a timely manner. By the way, you should not joke with the repair. Everything must be done on time, otherwise a minor breakdown can develop into a major one, and this is already an expensive repair. In general, the machine is strong, but with age begins to crumble. With a 4.2 engine, it consumes 13-14 liters of diesel fuel.

Other engines

  • Alexander, Peter, 3.0 diesel. Liked the car. With a manual transmission and a diesel engine that produces 170 horses. An excellent combination of manual + diesel off-road. Sturdy frame construction, with five-plus potential. In the city, of course, the car reveals all its disadvantages, but it was created for a completely different purpose. By modern standards, this Patrol has no equal on real off-road. Fuel consumption is 13-14 liters per hundred, and acceleration to the first hundred takes about 15 seconds. Very worthy for a heavy five-meter colossus.
  • Igor, Donetsk, 4.2 175 y. with. Found on the secondary Nissan Patrol of the fourth generation, in the top-end configuration. With a 4.2-liter 170-horsepower engine, it turned out to be quite powerful and ... voracious. Quite the expected combination. The city consumes about 16 liters of gasoline per 100 km. Such an engine relies only on mechanics, but okay.
  • Oleg, Yekaterinoslavl. Amazing off-road abilities, excellent ride, brutal design, large trunk and interior - these are the advantages of my Patrol, I'm not going to sell it for anything. The car eats an average of 15 liters per hundred. Under the hood is a diesel 3.0 115 hp. with. Car 1993, bought it in 2015 from a good man. He knows a lot about these cars. He even showed me an off-road master class. And only then I bought the Patrol from him, making sure what he was capable of. The car is a real beast. A three-liter 115-horsepower diesel engine is just numbers, but in fact it is capable of a lot. It has excellent traction, and this off-road advantage is much more important than power.

Generation 5 Y61

With 2.8 diesel engine

  • Stanislav, Perm. Nissan Patrol is an ambiguous car that requires expensive maintenance, but at the same time gives real pleasure on the roads. He does not care about any roads, the main thing is not to overdo it. Moderately economical and dynamic car, with fuel consumption of 12 - 14 liters per 100 km.
  • Dmitry, Lipetsk region. SUV for every day, it is more urban compared to my former fourth-generation Patrol. With a 2.8 engine and manual transmission, a maximum consumption of 15 liters. This is acceptable, especially with HBO.
  • Marina, Kaliningrad. Powerful and unpretentious SUV. Consumes an average of 13-14 liters per hundred. Under the hood - 2.8 engine and mechanics.
  • Dmitry, Vorkuta. My car is equipped with a manual transmission and a 2.8-liter diesel engine. Meet the Nissan Patrol 2000, with 150,000 miles on the odometer. With such equipment, the car is quite suitable for serious off-road. Of course, in the event of a breakdown, you can fall for expensive repairs. But why, then, buy such a car, if you don’t rape it in muddy soil, but just drive around the city? Patrol is a versatile car if you drive it carefully. For example, in the city it is necessary to let everyone through as much as possible, but on the roads - do not drive much. Think carefully about everything so as not to damage expensive body kits. A 2.8-liter diesel engine with a manual transmission consumes 12-13 liters of gasoline per hundred.
  • Semyon, Novosibirsk. The car was purchased specifically for our harsh conditions, for which it is ideally suited. Well, except that the 2.8-liter diesel often freezes like a jellied meat. I'm saving myself with a frost, what can you do. Fuel consumption with manual transmission from 10 to 13 liters per 100 km.

With 3.0 diesel engine

  • Mikhail, St. Petersburg. With this car, you can go anywhere, as long as he does not lead you somewhere of his own free will, he is capable of this. He has incredible off-road capabilities. I liked the powerful three-liter diesel engine, it produces 160 horses. I have an all-wheel drive version with an automatic transmission. Razgo to the first hundred in 17 seconds. Fuel consumption from 10 to 15 liters / 100 km.
  • Alexey, Tyumen. I'm surprised, but the Patrol fits without problems as the main car, for every day, so to speak. All thanks to reliable handling, soft suspension and spaciousness. Of course, during parking, the Patrol will not be afraid of curbs. Worth 3.0 engine and automatic transmission, fuel consumption up to 14 liters.
  • Vladimir, Nizhny Novgorod. The car is not easy, and makes itself respected. Brutal angular design, powerful three-liter diesel engine with a consumption of 14 liters per hundred.
  • Maxim, Yaroslavl. The car is 15 years old, but I still have it in service. Mileage 400 thousand km, everything is in order with reliability. The Japanese did their best, there is nothing more to add. With a 3.0 diesel engine and mechanics, the car eats 13-15 liters per hundred.
  • Nikolay, Tomsk. In my opinion, the Nissan Patrol with a three-liter diesel engine and an automatic is the perfect combination if you need an economical SUV for the city and off-road. In addition, my version is very dynamic in the city and on the highway. Acceleration to the first hundred in 15 seconds, which is relatively good for a five-meter giant with high ground clearance. Fuel consumption is a maximum of 14 liters, and this is another advantage. It has long been installed HBO, I go and do not complain. The automatic box works clearly - smoothly and without delay, despite its outdated design. In general, the Patrol made a good impression. Decent car for your money.
  • Sergey, Odessa. The car impressed me from the first day of purchase. Chose between Passfinderom and this car. I needed a real rogue with a brutal design. I didn’t take much into account the dimensions of the body, as a result I settled on Patrol with a three-liter diesel engine. There are already 125,000 miles on the odometer, the car is normal. I serve at the dealer, fuel consumption is up to 14-15 liters per hundred.
  • Konstantin, Dnepropetrovsk. Comfortable and reliable car, I drive it purely around the city. The Patrol has a wonderful suspension, just specially for our broken roads. Fuel consumption with a 3.0 engine and mechanics of 12-14 liters per hundred.
  • Alena, Minsk. I liked the car, comfortable and dynamic. I didn’t even expect this from a large multi-ton SUV. They are easy to control and maneuver. The car is equipped with a 3-liter diesel engine, and consumes no more than 15 liters in the urban cycle.

With 4.2 diesel engine

  • Yaroslav, St. Petersburg. I planned to buy a Patrol with a two-liter gasoline engine with a capacity of 200 forces, but I was scared away by its hellish consumption of 25 liters per hundred. It's simply unthinkable. As a result, I settled on an intermediate version with a 4.2-liter diesel engine. I am satisfied with the car, it is very frisky and relatively economical in the city, but there are no questions at all on the highway. The average consumption is at the level of 15 liters / 100, acceleration to the first hundred takes 13 seconds. The diesel puts out a reasonable 16 horsepower, and works with a manual.
  • Oksana, Smolensk. Wheelbarrow liked, just no words. I drove more than 200 thousand km off-road, the car adapted to my lifestyle. Of course, I always take a repair kit with me. Diesel 3.0 consumes 14 liters of diesel per hundred.
  • Denis, Nizhny Novgorod region. Car 1999, with a mileage of 150 thousand km. Before me, the Patrol was owned by three owners, and everyone complained about breakdowns. So I immediately did a major overhaul of everything and everyone. As a result, so far no damage. Fuel consumption is a maximum of 20 liters per hundred. I have a 4.2-liter diesel engine with mechanics and a 150-horsepower diesel engine under the hood.

Gasoline engines

  • Margarita, Perm, 4.8 245 l. with. I took the car from my husband as soon as he moved to the Chevrolet Tahoe. Nissan Patrol is a car designed for adventure. The car has a huge 4.8-liter engine under the hood, with which the Patrol will crawl anywhere. Consumption 18-22 liters.
  • Valentin, Simferopol. I love classic frame SUVs. I took a supported 1999 Patrol, with a 4.8-liter gasoline engine. With it, the consumption is not more than 20 liters. Quite normal, the car is still satisfied.
  • Boris, Kharkiv, 4.8 245 l. with. I have a Nissan Patrol in the top-end configuration. Old-fashioned design and angular shapes are a typical image of a classic SUV. That's exactly what I bought Nissan for, although at the time of purchase there was already a more modern Nissan Pathfinder on sale. The car was produced in 2001, has now traveled 300,000 km. I'm thinking of selling, but don't know how. Now there are no more such full-fledged SUVs. Well, maybe Toyota Land Cruiser, but it has too expensive parts, and it’s a pity to rape it on impassable roads. Patrol has many advantages compared to more modern competitors, but there are also disadvantages. The fattest is the fat fuel consumption of a 245-horsepower engine. He eats at least 20 liters of gasoline in the urban cycle.
  • Alexander, Kaliningrad, 4.5 200 l. with. The SUV is worth the money, I made a conscious choice. I bought the top version, with a 200-horsepower 4.5 petrol engine. Her fuel consumption does not exceed 20 liters / 100 km. Immediately put HBO, so as not to suffer. You need to know how to own this car, otherwise you can get caught for repairs, for which you will then pay for your whole life, or it will be easier to part with a wheelbarrow.
  • Oleg, Irkutsk, 4.5 200 y. with. With the Nissan Patrol, I overcame a lot of difficult places, and ran the car properly. Although the Patrol is quite suitable in the city and on the highway, but for such conditions it is better to put more low-profile tires. My Patrol is equipped with a 200-horsepower internal combustion engine with a flow rate of 18-20 liters.

Generation 6 Y62

With 5.6 engine

  • Maxim, Kirovsk. I have a Nissan Patrol 2010, with a 5.6 engine with a capacity of 400 horses. An animal, not a car. I was among the first Russian buyers, I bought Nissan Patrol on pre-order. The automatic transmission is very modern, and it really reveals the potential of a multi-cylinder engine. Fuel consumption reaches 20 liters, but this does not scare me. The lack of gluttony is compensated by hurricane dynamics. On a straight line, you can accelerate to 200 or more km / h, and acceleration to the first hundred in just 7-8 seconds.
  • Vasily, Kaliningrad. The car of 2015, I bought it in a rich configuration with a 5.6 engine. With such a heart, a wild consumption of gasoline comes out - about 18-19 liters in the urban cycle. Immediately put the Italian HBO, and now thank God I'm not complaining.
  • Pavel, Saratov. My Nissan Patrol is quite comfortable and dynamic for the city, and the 5.6-liter gasoline engine is capable of a lot, although the car must be admitted to behave like a turtle in corners. But on a straight line it is quickly rehabilitated. Fuel consumption increases with increasing speed, a maximum of 20 liters of gasoline is obtained.
  • Anna, Petropavlovsk. Nissan Patrol is a standing car, I use it every day, and I am quite happy with the purchase. Reliable and with Japanese quality, fuel consumption from 15 to 18 liters per hundred.
  • Nikolay, Odessa. A stylish and fast SUV, and its fuel consumption matches its impressive size. With a 5.6 engine and an automatic in the city, I get 17 liters.
  • Oleg, Chelyabinsk. I liked the car. Very fast, despite the impressive shape. A kind of ship, but despite this, the car is comfortable in the city. On the road, everyone respects and passes as soon as they see this giant. In my opinion, the Patrol looks more prestigious and presidential than its main competitor, the Toyota Land Cruiser. The car is equipped with a 400-horsepower engine, with it fuel consumption is from 15 to 20 liters of gasoline / 100 km.
  • Nikita, Cheboksary. I chose between Nissan Pathfinder, Land Cruiser 200, Patrol and Volvo XC90. Of all this quarter, I liked Volvo the most, but it turned out to be the most expensive. In the end, he compromised and took the Patrol. Somewhat old-fashioned car, but with great off-road potential. Fuel consumption with a 5.6 engine does not exceed 20 liters. The car is worth the money, despite the high consumption. Because that's the only downside.
  • Dmitry, Vladimir region Nissan Patrol 2012 release, with a 5.6-liter engine and an average consumption of 20 liters per hundred. Comfortable car with all-wheel drive, but not off-road.
  • Gerda, Smolensk. Satisfied with the car, Patrol is like my other male half. Dynamic, and at the same time pleases with comfort. Consumption of 18 liters of gasoline per 100 km.
  • Olga, Kazan. With this car, all the inconvenience behind. In the cabin of Patrol you feel at home. There are plenty of places, and a lot of all sorts of useful features. The car lived up to all my expectations, and under the hood it growls a 5.6-liter gasoline engine with a flow rate of 18-20 liters per hundred.

The Nissan Patrol SUV survived the upgrade just two years ago, but the other day, Chinese photo spies again caught a car in camouflage. Restyling again? Why not, because just in China, as well as in Australia and other regions of the world, pre-reform cars of the 2010 model are still being sold. It is only unclear in which markets the re-updated Patrol will eventually appear.

However, the volume of changes is expected to be small. Under the front mask, other contours of the bumper and headlights are visible, and the radiator grille seems to become even more massive. Judging by the camouflage, the stern will also undergo changes, as well as new wheels will appear. However, more recently, Patrol has acquired a much more important new thing: a “junior” modification with a V6 engine has appeared in the range.

Until now, the Patrol of the Y 62 series was equipped only with a V 8 5.6 gasoline aspirator (317 or 405 hp, depending on the market) - too voracious, and for many buyers also excessively powerful. And the release of the six-cylinder version is associated primarily with the previous generation model (Y61), which in some markets was a more affordable alternative to the new SUV. The 4.0-liter petrol “six” is the same that, until recently, was installed on the frame all-terrain vehicles Nissan Pathfinder of the previous generation. She develops 275 hp. and is paired with a seven-speed automatic.

Nissan Patrol V6 for the Middle East

So far, Patrol V6 is sold only in the Middle East: marketers expect that in a couple of years such versions will account for about 60% of local demand. In mid-autumn, the "younger" version will also appear in China, and it is possible that with an updated body. As for our country, the Patrol V6 does not appear in the plans of the Russian office of the Patrol V6. However, in our country a turbodiesel would be more suitable for him: for example, three-quarters of Toyota Land Cruiser 200 SUVs in Russia are sold with diesel engines. But Nissan does not have such a motor.

March 7, 2013 → mileage 14000 km

Great car.

I read with interest the reviews, including when choosing this car. I hope that my review will help someone.

The car, in my opinion, is beautiful, very pleased with the choice. Prior to that, went to the Cadillac srx 4.6.

What was needed was a large and at the same time, as far as possible, a driver's car with dynamics at the level of a Cadillac srx.

I chose the option with, so to speak, min equipment (without roof rails, sunroof, rear displays and adaptive cruise control). Of the entire additional set, you might need only an adaptive cruise (and even that is not a fact). Overpay more than 200 thousand for it did not. Very pleased that there is no sunroof. It is strange that I don’t see cars in this configuration at all in Moscow.

Comparing Patrol to Cadillac, the main differences on the road are: Patrol is slightly faster. Significantly better brakes. Managed very comfortably, but somewhat worse with very sharp maneuvers. Srx, if necessary, at any speed can literally jump into the next row by jumping. The patrol can also make such a sharp maneuver, but with great difficulty. After the rebuild will need to taxi. In a protracted uniform turn, the patrol, on the contrary, is preferable. The Cadillac, oddly enough, has a better moment on the bottoms, when driving in a stream at a speed of about 2000, you can accelerate very dynamically. On patrol, downshifting is required. Patrol is a little stiff on small bumps. Very good on big bumps. With a strong desire, you can quite comfortably pass speed bumps without slowing down. Stable at any speed and poorly responsive to the track.

At the moment, in my opinion, the only comparable alternative in terms of qualities and characteristics is the Lexus 570. At the same time, it costs 1.5 times more and it’s not a fact that it is no worse. At least the rear continuous axle casts doubt on good handling. Theft and the cost of insurance are also much higher.

Of the insignificant: stupid parking sensors, only corner sensors, no front and rear sensors. When moving forward, the parking sensors only work if the camera mode is activated.

With a high landing and a high line of relatively narrow windows, it is inconvenient to navigate the nearest objects up to a meter high. When moving slowly, cameras help (if not dirty).

It is strange that with two displays, the assignment of various secondary functions occurs through dancing with tambourines and cannot be done without instructions.

Of the breakdowns: the car was originally with a defective mechanism for closing the driver's window. There are no other breakdowns.

All-season tires for the winter require mandatory replacement. I put hakapelita 7, I am very satisfied. I will think about replacing it for the summer as well, can someone recommend a proven summer version for this car?

If you're looking for a BIG luxury car with superb sports car performance, good handling, and a reasonable, not exorbitant price, then this is probably not just the best, but the only option (not counting the almost identical Infiniti QX). As a bonus to this, it turns out not just a 4 * 4 drive, but apparently one of the best cross-country ability in the class.

Advantages:

  • Excellent dynamics
  • good brakes
  • Good handling (given the size and class of the car, we can say that it is excellent)
  • Very comfortable steering experience
  • Huge salon, 3 extra seats. Excellent, very pleasant and expensive looking interior decoration. In the back seat with a height of 180, you can comfortably sit with your legs crossed, with the front seats as far back as possible. More space than needed
  • High comfort even on bad roads
  • High permeability
  • Reasonable price
  • Acceptable Music
