Chat communication between the viewers and the streamer is an essential part of the broadcast. To regulate the order, there are chat commands on Twitch used by channel moderators and directly by the streamer. Let's move on to them.
Channel Owner Commands
Below we will consider the commands available only for the streamer.
Make user moderator
By typing this command, you will assign the user the rights of a moderator.

Let's move on to the commands that are available not only to the streamer, but also to moderators.
Ban for a while ("Timeout" or "Mut")
By typing the command, you will temporarily ban a certain user from the chat (the default value is 10 minutes). You will be informed of the success by the displayed response. A ban is also supported for another time specified by you (this was done in order to be able to restrict the user in using the chat for a shorter or longer time).
Ban a user for 10 minutes: /timeout username
Ban a user for another time: /timeout username time
Eternal ban
This command makes it possible to permanently ban the viewer from the chat.
Ban a user permanently: /ban username
Unban user in chat
Accidentally banned a viewer? Or did he apologize and make amends? By typing this command, you will remove the eternal ban from him:
Unban a viewer: /unban username
slow mode
"Slow mod" makes it possible to put a time limit on sending messages by viewers to the chat.
Enable "Slow mod": /slow time_on_limit_in_seconds
To disable the active "Slow mode" use the command: /slowoff
Note: Partners with a paid subscription feature can allow their viewers to bypass Slow mode. This feature is configured in the subscribers settings panel.
subscribe mode
You can allow only subscribers (subscribers) and channel moderators to chat. If your channel does not have a paid subscription, then only the owner of the channel and moderators will be able to use the chat when this command is activated.
Enable "subscribe mod": /subscribers
Disable "subscribe mod": /subscribersoff
Note: A paid subscription is a premium feature for partners that requires a purchase from a subscriber who wishes to have this subscription.
Clearing chat messages
The command will allow you to completely clear the channel's chat.
Clear chat: /clear
Note: viewers using any chat logging extensions may not see chat messages cleared.
R9K-mode
R9K is a great anti-spam tool on Twitch. This command will allow users to enter only unique messages (You need to enter at least 9 unique letters relative to other messages).
Enable R9K-mode: /r9kbeta
Turn off R9K-mode: /r9kbetaoff

Friends, today I will tell you how to add and set up a chat for streaming, for example, on twitch or any other platform. When broadcasting live on YouTube, it is very important to “hear” your viewers. Without an exchange of views, the streamer is "deaf and blind."
Many beginner streamers do not know how to technically set up feedback. And this is not at all difficult, a chat where viewers will write to you right during the broadcast is set with a couple of clicks.
The fact that you need to add chat to the stream implies that you already have a channel, so I will skip the process of creating a channel.
I note right away that there are many such ways, and the fact that I do not know all the ways. However, I will show you the one that seemed to me as simple as possible.
So, after you have downloaded OBS studio from the official site, installed it.
Connected it to your profile in which you are going to broadcast. In my case, this is twitch, we created a scene, added the necessary sources.
After that, you need to add a chat so that you can see right here on the screen what your viewers are writing to you. How can this be done quickly and easily? And let's go to the streamlabs.com website and click on the button - login to get started.
But, you can click on other buttons where you have accounts, nothing will change from this. Next, we will immediately go to our automatically created personal account.
And if you are not doing well with English or just reading in Russian is more and more pleasant, you can change the language.
After that we open the Widgets item, in the left column.
Click on the chat window.
In the menu that opens, we see on this screen how the chat will look like.
Settings for this chat, which ones to show:
- icons.
- background color.
- text color.
- font size.

You can set any settings, then click on the window at the top in which the link to the widget is hidden and copy the link that the site offers you.
After that, return to your OBS. Now, in the list of sources, we need to add our chat, click on the plus sign below - add a new source.
Select a resource browser.
Come up with a name so as not to get confused. In place of the url, paste the link provided by the site and click OK.
And that's it, now you will have a chat displayed in this window. We can also resize or move the window with a simple drag and drop anywhere we want.
