Interior arrangement of the bath, how to create comfort inside. How to equip a small bath. Secrets What should be the size of the steam room: drafting

Have you tried and built a beautiful hut-steam room? Now we need to finish the bath from the inside, which requires no less attention than outdoor work. High humidity and high temperatures put forward special requirements for materials, because not all of them are able to withstand difficult operating conditions. It depends on the choice of sheathing how long the structure will last, how comfortable the procedures will be. Different rooms in the bath require their own approach to finishing, but the most difficult is the finishing of the steam room in the bath.

What material is suitable for a steam room

For interior work, there are a lot of finishing materials. To make it easier for you to choose what kind of decoration of the steam room will be done in the bath, each designer has photos and pictures of ready-made solutions. It is worth recalling that even if you yourself made a choice, it is better to coordinate it with a specialist, because not all materials are suitable for installation inside the hottest room.

Given the specific operating conditions, the corresponding requirements are imposed on the finish:

    moisture resistance;

    heat resistance;

    durability;

    hygiene;

    environmental friendliness.

Important! For the interior decoration of the bath, you should choose natural materials.

Plastic deforms when the temperature rises, begins to emit an unpleasant odor, and ordinary tiles crack after heating. Therefore, the use of such a finish is unacceptable in the steam room.

The best option is wood. The structure of the finish depends on financial capabilities. For example, lining is cheaper than timber, it is chosen if it is necessary to meet a certain budget. Basically, the owners of baths prefer hardwood. Below is an example of what the interior of a bathhouse might look like, a photo of the classic version.

High-quality wood for the interior decoration of the bath Source stroy-block.com.ua

There is an opinion that it is not necessary to sheathe the inside with paired coniferous wood, since when the temperature rises, it releases resin. But this statement is debatable, because the resin has a beneficial effect on health, cleanses the respiratory tract, and strengthens the heart.

Whether or not to sheathe the interior with coniferous wood, it's up to you - maybe someone from the house has an unpleasant smell of needles or vice versa ...

If lining was nevertheless chosen for lining the bath, then it must be of high quality. Particular attention must be paid to the external processing of the material - there should be no chips, knots, cracks on its surface. Lining should not deform: swell when heated or shrink at normal temperature.

If for some reason wood does not suit you as a material for interior decoration of a steam room, you can give preference to heat-resistant tiles, which have proven themselves well with significant temperature changes.

Ceiling protection

Before finishing, the ceiling should be protected from hot steam. To do this, use aluminum foil or a building membrane.

Important! Do not use foil with glued mineral wool or foamed polypropylene. When heated, these materials release toxic substances.

The use of lining - rational or not

Definitely yes! Lining made of linden, aspen, cedar, abasha has become popular due to its properties. It tolerates temperature changes, high humidity, is aesthetic, does not absorb moisture. The lining of the lining has a low thermal conductivity - it does not heat up, but transfers heat into the air.

The lining for the bath is not varnished, antiseptic, paint, it is used in its natural form.

Preparing the walls for decoration

Starting to finish the walls, they solve the issue of insulation and waterproofing. Without such measures, the bath will not last long, and healing procedures will be reduced to simple hygiene. For insulation, the walls are covered with mineral or basalt wool. The second is more resistant to high temperatures, so it lasts longer.

Masters consider cork to be the best thermal insulator for walls in a bath. This agglomerate does not burn, does not rot, is resistant to fungi and mold.

Crate - to do or not to do

Masters prefer to install the crate and attach the interior trim to it. The popular base size is 50x50, less often they make 70x70. The step is not a standard and varies depending on the size of the blocks being reinforced.

The crate is made of wood, less often of metal. Given the operating conditions, the metal must be treated with moisture-resistant compounds. Lining or logs are fixed with screws, nails. They must be copper or brass. The installation of the base is done perpendicular to the skin.

Stages of lining

    Perimeter wall and ceiling fix the timber. Fasteners should be every 80–100 cm.

    Cut pieces of insulating wool placed between the tree without ramming.

    Above cover with a waterproofing. The joints are sealed with aluminum tape, paying special attention to the corners.

    Equip ventilation. To do this, fill the remote rail. It will provide a small gap (2–3 cm) through which air will be vented.

    Do separate upholstery doors and windows.

    Fasten the lining. You need to start from the corner, fixing each part vertically. This position will ensure free flow of water. If a horizontal arrangement of blocks is planned, make sure that the spikes are at the top. This will protect the lock from moisture.

    Lining, located in the corners or near the walls, cut to desired size. It is especially important to cut the corner block correctly. It is necessary to accurately calculate the angle of inclination so that the neighboring block is correctly fixed.

We make the floor in the steam room

Not only comfort, but also safety depends on the choice of raw materials for the floor. Moisture on smooth tiles or linoleum can lead to falls and injury. Installation of such materials will turn the floor into a skating rink. In addition, linoleum, when heated, emits an unpleasant odor containing substances harmful to health.

The optimal choice of floor for the steam room is wood. It does not require special coating, moreover, with such a design, the room will be designed in the same style. It is worth noting that the wooden floor in the bath is not made of oak. This wood becomes stronger when wet, but at the same time its surface begins to slide.

Good for concrete. A floor made of such material will be strong and durable. Tiles are laid on top of it, but the surface structure of such a coating is important. It should not be glossy, a pronounced relief is needed. The floor is laid at a slight slope to the water drain.

Laying tiles on the floor in the bath source seattlehelpers.org

Laying tiles is carried out from the corner, installing crosses between the blocks, tapping with a mounting hammer. After 2-3 days, the seams between the tiles are overwritten. Wooden gratings are placed on top, which allow you not to step on the cold floor and provide additional safety in case of possible slipping.

And now the shelves

A very important point is the shelves in the bath. Since constant tactile contact is assumed with them, increased requirements are put forward for these elements:

    they should not get very hot;

    better if cool down slowly;

    must be environmentally friendly;

    don't slip and not be very rough;

    not have external damage;

    easy to wash.

Again, a tree is most well suited for this purpose. Thoroughly cleaned, without knots and notches, it has served people in the bath and steam room for centuries. Shelves should not have sharp corners that can cause injury. They are not made solid, leaving a small distance between the wooden boards.

We equip the dressing room

The main function of the dressing room is to keep warm. The temperature in the room is not high, so it is good to use coniferous trees to decorate the walls in a traditional style.

The interior decoration of the bath from a log creates an atmosphere of antiquity, ancient fairy tales. A light aroma created by pine, fir, spruce is appropriate here. The wood of these species resists fungus and mold well. It does not crack after drying, durable. When heated, fir almost does not emit resin.

If hardwoods are preferred, experts advise decorating the room with birch. The lining can be laid out not only in even rows, but also in a pattern. It is important that the walls in the room are covered with one type of wood.

Bathroom and washroom

These rooms do not have very high temperatures, although the humidity is as high as in a steam room. The choice of finishes in the bathroom and washing room is more extensive. Fans of bath procedures recommend using natural raw materials for such rooms - wood or stone. Among the wood, pine is the leader - this is an affordable material, however, it darkens with prolonged use.

Washroom design example Source profstroiplotnik.ru

Plastic is acceptable, as there is no high temperature, and it tolerates moist air well. For the shower, you can use ordinary tiles.

What is better to use for decorating a rest room

The rest room should be beautiful and cozy, so the design of the room comes out on top. It is not necessary to install heat and moisture resistant materials here. The relaxation area should be:

    easy care;

    hygienic;

    environmentally friendlym;

    comfortable;

    aesthetic.

For interesting ideas for interior decoration of the bath, see the video:

Finishing the rest room in the bath, in addition to traditional wood, can be done:

    cullet;

    porcelain stoneware;

    natural stone;

    decorative plaster.

Important! The tree is not mounted immediately after delivery to the construction site. It is brought into the room and allowed to stand for a couple of days, so that it "gets used" in the bath. After such a procedure, the tree does not undergo deformation when heated and high humidity.

Conclusion

Finishing the bath from the inside requires effort and imagination. But, if you do everything right and entrust this work to professionals, the bath will last a long time to restore strength and health. It remains for you to choose what will be the finish of the bath inside: a photo of the steam rooms will help you find the best option for style and materials.

Bathing is an extremely popular Russian tradition from pre-Christian times to modern times. The steam room allows you to cleanse the body, relieve stress and fatigue thanks to hot air and steam. Since ancient times, various types of baths have been known. Today, Russian, Finnish and Turkish steam rooms are in special demand. A bath can be easily made at home with your own hands in order to have unhindered access to a rejuvenating, invigorating and wellness procedure. The main thing is to choose the right finish inside the steam room.

Interior decoration project

At home, each person tries to organize a special place to relax after a hard day's work. On the one hand, it can be a romantic bedroom, a cozy living room or even a small corner just for you in the form of a comfortable chair, a footstool and a soft blanket, and on the other hand, taking a hot bath. Have you thought about the possibility of building your own bathhouse, which will be at your personal disposal around the clock? The steam room at home sounds like a dream! However, it is becoming more affordable as steam cabins are easy to install even in today's single-family homes. In the photo you will see how a bathhouse can look in different styles. The decor of a steam room can be surprisingly varied, so check out a number of interesting examples that will inspire you to realize the dream of creating a full-fledged bath.

Finishing the bath inside: steam room, shower room, relaxation room

The Russian banya has a long tradition, many of which are still followed today. The classic steam room consists of three rooms:

Sweating and health are practically synonymous with the sauna, as the steam room is famous for the incredible healing properties that come from steam, as well as the eco-friendly atmosphere in the room, which is created using natural wood finishes of different species.

High-quality bath - finishing inside the steam room in different styles

The right solutions for finishing the bath allow not only to create a beautiful design, but also to endow the room with healing properties. The type of wood you choose is critical to determining the "originality" of the sauna. You can go rustic or create a more modern look by opting for a minimalist design.

The effect of "old times" in a wooden bath

A type of unfinished wood that was previously used to create traditional Russian bath huts and is now used to give the walls of the sauna a rustic look. Its natural unevenness emphasizes the natural beauty of the wood, which only becomes nobler with age.

Stylish saunas in minimalism

If there is a desire to see a Finnish sauna or an infrared sauna at home, then it is worth considering a design that will be concise and simple, characterized by smooth boards made of treated wood in the form of cedar, linden, poplar.

Finishing the bath inside with your own hands

Have you decided to create your own sauna, but don't know where to start? First of all, you should think about what type of steam room you want to see, what kind of wood for finishing will you choose? There are several types of wood that are ideal not only for finishing the steam room, but also for the shower and rest room.

cedar bath

This type of wood requires special technical skills and experience. It is used to maximize the beauty and natural flavor of the material. Cedar constantly releases an intense scent due to the high temperatures of the bath. The strips of wood are handcrafted for unsurpassed quality. The sauna benches are also made from strips of cedar, giving the room maximum prestige.

Ash bath

Heat treatment gives the ash a dark effect, characteristic of a bath. For this reason, this type of wood is ideal for creating chromatic contrasts or where dark colors are preferred. Ash baths look modern and bright.

Linden bath

In the Middle Ages, the linden tree was known as the "sacred forest". The plant reaches a height of 30 meters and lives for a long time. The wood has a yellow-white, pale golden-pink color that tends to white. The lime wood interior trim can be paired with dark woods to create strong color contrasts.

Poplar for a wooden bath

Poplar wood is pale yellow to white with a peculiar texture. Although it is a very durable wood, it can also be worked. Thanks to its bright texture, it is the perfect choice for a minimalist sauna.

fir sauna

Traditional saunas are often made from fir. The light brown color and the presence of visible knots make this wood stand out from other trees. The elegant line defines a warm and welcoming atmosphere.

Finishing the bath inside: a rest room and a shower room

The bath is visited for maximum relaxation, as well as rest for the soul and body. Of great importance is not only the quality finish of the steam room itself, but also the shower room and rest room. The presence of benches, a sofa, a table will allow you to spend time sincerely with friends, resting from steam procedures and cleansing the body with herbal teas.

The sauna is the perfect place to relax, especially on cold days. Every Russian person knows the beneficial effect of the bath. However, it is worth checking with a doctor who will tell you if we can use the steam room. This can be the first piece of advice when it comes to building your own bathhouse or a complete sauna complex. Much also depends on individual preferences. Thanks to high-quality finishing, your bath will last for many years, delighting with its comfort and healing powers. Choose the most acceptable natural material for the design of the steam room, which will delight with its beauty and practical properties, without deteriorating over time.

The arrangement of the bath inside is significantly different from the decoration of a private house. The main differences stem from the fact that the bath is most often not intended for living in it throughout the year. Therefore, there are essentially only three main rooms: a rest room, a washing room and a steam room. The rest room has almost no features in the technology of arranging the interior decoration of walls, floors and ceilings, in contrast to the steam room and washing room.

Consider, for a start, the correct organization of the steam room - the most technically complex room using the example of a small foam block bath.

Directly on the walls of the foam block, horizontal bars are mounted. This is a frame for a layer of thermal insulation made of mineral wool. Despite the good thermal insulation characteristics of the foam block, an additional layer of thermal protection is necessary so that the steam room heats up as quickly as possible and the heat that the stove creates is not spent on heating the wall blocks.

An alternative material for basalt wool is polystyrene foam or expanded polystyrene. But when finishing the steam room, the use of this type of thermal insulation is strongly not recommended, since this room warms up to very high temperatures, and the basis of these materials - polystyrene - releases toxic substances into the air when heated significantly. And the whole point of healing from visiting the bath can be lost if the air in the steam room contains compounds that are harmful to health.

The horizontal bars shown in the photo are located at a sufficiently large distance from each other. Therefore, in order to keep the 50 mm thick roll insulation used in this case on the wall, it is additionally fixed with small section rails fixed at an angle to the frame. If you place the horizontal boards of the crate closer to one another and use mineral wool in the slabs, then the insulation can simply be inserted into the free space inside the frame. Having thermal insulation in the slabs, install the horizontal guides of the frame so that the distance between them matches the dimensions of the insulation.

The next step is the installation of a vapor barrier layer. The fact is that the most destructive effect on all structural elements of a bath from any material is precisely the constantly high humidity. It is obvious that in the Russian bath there will always be a lot of water, including a significant amount of steam. If we talk about the material of the walls (whether it be a block, frame or brick), then even if it is protected from direct contact with water splashes by a layer of interior decoration, moisture will still accumulate on it in the form of condensate that has settled from the air of the steam room.

So, so that this moisture does not penetrate deep into the walls and does not lead to unnecessary consequences, it must be isolated from the walls and from the insulation. Therefore, on top of the heat-insulating frame, a layer of foil vapor barrier based on kraft paper is always installed. This material not only retains moisture, completely blocking it, but also reflects part of the heat of the steam room from the walls, back into the interior of the room.

The foil vapor barrier layer is mounted using a construction stapler. Laying at the joints is carried out with an overlap of 10 cm with gluing the joints with special foil tape along the entire length. In this example, in front of the vapor barrier deck, the lower wooden beams and the vertical post in the corner were previously wrapped with foam (reflective thermal insulation) in those places where the distance from the metal furnace would be minimal. Another protective layer is laid on top of the penofol - from foil.

Finishing can be made from both lining and ordinary boards. The best wood species for this are linden or aspen. But to save the budget, in this case, an ordinary pine board 25 mm thick was used. The only consequence of using such a tree is that over time it will begin to release some resin. This is not critical if you take well-dried material or let it lie down for several months in a dry, ventilated room.

Installation of boards is carried out on a crate of narrow slats 25 mm thick. It is needed so that in the space between the vapor barrier and the finishing layer there is air and moisture that has collected on the vapor barrier layer is not absorbed into the lining, but evaporates freely during the ventilation of the steam room.

As you can see in the photo, instead of a layer of wood finishing on the walls, a border about 1 meter high from the floor was made under the level of the shelves. It is made of flat slate or a glass-magnesite sheet, fixed on self-tapping screws to the insulation crate on top of the vapor barrier. Porcelain stoneware is laid on this flat base with tile adhesive so that this upper border smoothly passes into the tiled floor.

On the ceiling, the sequence of mounting the layers was as follows. The floor beams are stuffed with ordinary inch boards 25 mm thick close to one another. From the side of the attic, 10 cm of basalt wool insulation and 10 cm of sawdust from pine and linden were placed on these beams. From the inside, under the draft ceiling of the boards, a foil vapor barrier is laid on kraft paper in two layers, on which a crate of 25 mm pine board is stuffed. On top of the crate, a finished ceiling was made of linden boards.

washing room

Here, in general, the sequence of laying each of the layers is repeated. The main difference is the material of the insulation, since a cheaper heat insulator, foam plastic, can be used in the washroom. On the walls are fixed vertical laths of the crate with a section of 25x25 mm. Styrofoam sheets 2 cm thick are laid inside, and a layer of waterproofing is laid on top of them. Here it is no longer necessary to use foil material with kraft paper, you can take a similar cheaper pvc film.

If we talk about the installation of the floor, then here, as in the steam room, it must be done with a drain. The technology for manufacturing an inclined screed so that water always flows into the drain hole is detailed in the video below. Porcelain tiles are laid on top of such a screed, since it is much easier to wash the tiles afterwards than wooden flooring.

For those who are more suitable for wood floors, we offer the following video instruction for review. Here the master tells how to make a floor covering from boards in a steam room so that the tree does not collapse ahead of time under the influence of high humidity in the steam room.

As for the arrangement of other premises, such as a vestibule or a rest room, their decoration is similar to the decoration of almost any other room in a private house. Depending on the material from which the bath is made and the weather conditions in the region where it is located, a separate decision is made about the insulation of the walls. And in the general case, the interior decoration of the walls of a rest room or vestibule does not provide for an additional heat-insulating layer.

Buying a log house for a bath is half the battle, it is important to properly equip the interior. How to do this and what to pay special attention to, read our article.

Floors in the bath

Particular attention is paid to the floors in the bath due to the fact that they are constantly in a humid environment, where many materials become unusable very quickly. In this regard, it is recommended to lay two types of floors in the bath: concrete (in the steam room and washing room) and wood (in the locker room and rest room).

The concrete floor has a number of advantages, which include such as fire safety, ease of pouring and subsequent maintenance, durability, reliability and practicality. The concrete floor does not require special drying after each use of the bath, it is easy to clean, it is enough just to equip drains in it.
Arrangement of a concrete floor can be carried out on the ground or on logs. In the first case, the floors are poured into a recess in the ground, on which a drainage layer, a waterproofing agent, a reinforcing mesh, sand, and finally, a cement-concrete screed are placed in layers.

The entire sewerage system is laid in the thickness of the filler floor. The disadvantage of a concrete floor is its low temperature relative to the environment, but this can be easily remedied by laying a "warm floor" system into it.

In the second case, a lag system is mounted from the bars, and a draft floor from the boards. And already on the floor is laid a multilayer "pie" of - and waterproofing, reinforcing mesh and finishing flooring.

Arrangement of the steam room of the bath

If the area of \u200b\u200bthe bath allows, then a pool will be equipped in it. It can be indoor (covered) or outdoor (open).

Immersion in cool water contributes to the hardening of the human body. External pools are recommended to be equipped with a canopy.
If the bath occupies a small area, then it is quite acceptable to equip a small font with cold water in it.

Shower room in the bath

Of course, you can do without a shower in the bath, using a ladle and a tub. But if you are planning a modern and comfortable bathhouse, then you cannot do without a shower in it.

To do this, it is necessary to ensure the arrangement of the drain in the bath, water supply and drainage system.
For a bath, it is best to use metal-plastic or polypropylene pipes, from which the plumbing system is mounted. The supply system will be directly connected to the water supply system of the house, and the drainage system can be brought into the home sewer, or may have its own water discharge channels. The second case is preferable, because by introducing the outflow from the bath into the general sewerage system, you will have to turn to the services of sewage equipment more often.

The washing room itself can be a shower cabin purchased in specialized stores, or a place for taking a shower equipped on its own.

Rest room in the bath

The arrangement of the bath from the inside would not be complete if we did not stop at the design of the rest room.

In terms of area, this room should be at least 8 sq.m (better, of course, if the area is much larger). There is a table and seats in the form of chairs or benches. It is here that people relax and communicate after the steam room, and therefore the interior should be conducive to this.
The walls of the rest room, as a rule, are decorated with clapboard made of such wood species as birch, linden and coniferous.

It is this wood that exudes, when heated, the aromas of wood, which have a calming effect on the human nervous system. Floors are recommended to be covered with special non-slip tiles or decorated with specially prepared wood.

It is good to live in a private house. On your own land, you can build at least a huge garage, at least a bathhouse, at least a whole water park. But what about the owners of simple apartments? Of course, it is impossible to build a water park and a garage in such conditions, but a bathhouse is easy. Moreover, all the necessary stages of work are easily performed by hand.

Any construction work begins with planning and procurement of materials. The finished bath should have as little weight as possible, so only sheet lining is suitable for finishing the structure.

In addition to lining, you will need to buy a beam for the frame, galvanized self-tapping screws for assembling all the elements into a single system, mineral wool insulation, foil, wires, a switch, a lighting device and, of course, a heating device.

Determine the required amount of materials yourself, taking into account the size of the future bath. When determining the optimal size, keep in mind that one person needs at least 1 m2 of free space for a comfortable pastime in the steam room.

After purchasing everything you need, proceed to the arrangement of the floor.

Arrangement of the bath floor

The best place for arranging a bath is the junction of three walls. If it is not possible to build a steam room right there, pick up a place near the carrier, but not the outer wall.

Proceed to the device floor. This stage is performed before the construction of the frame. You can make a plank or tiled floor.

First step. Get rid of the existing finish, if any, and carefully level the base.

Second step. Install support rails. Boards will be attached to them. The bath in the apartment will have a small area, so there are no special requirements for the crate step. You can install rails at a distance, for example, 60-80 cm.

Third step. Attach boards 4-5 cm thick to the crate. Use self-tapping screws for fastening.

It is forbidden to cover wood with any paints and varnishes.

Tiled floor

First step. Remove the existing flooring and level the surface with a screed or, if there are no significant height differences, with a self-levelling compound. Pre-install a low formwork according to the size of the future floor. Let the fill dry and remove the formwork.

Second step. Lay the elements of the electric underfloor heating and pour the screed over them. The laying scheme, as well as the optimal thickness of the screed layer, is given in the manufacturer's instructions.

Third step. Lay your preferred tile on the dried screed. There are no specific requirements for tiles. To fix the tiles, it is best to use an adhesive specially designed for this.

Start assembling the frame. It will consist of vertical posts and horizontal bars. Tying with horizontal crossbars is performed in 5 levels:

First step. Install vertical supports. Place them in the corners of the future pair room. The height of each rack is up to 190-210 cm. For the manufacture of racks, use durable wooden boards or bars.

It is important that in the places of future placement of shops, the bars or boards should be thicker than in other places of the structure.

Use dowels to secure the racks to the floor. Racks are attached to the walls with several nails without hats. Check the verticality of the rack mounting using a level or plumb line. The walls in the apartments are often uneven, so you will most likely have to spend extra time adjusting the frame elements.

Second step. Fasten the elements of the horizontal strapping in accordance with the recommendations given earlier. You can use screws for fastening.

Third step. Attach mineral wool insulation to the frame. Carefully lay the mineral wool in the cells of the frame. If possible, fix the insulation with nails or screws. Cover the insulation with foil. Use tape or pushpins to secure the foil.

Aluminum foil will create the effect of a thermos in the sauna, contributing to the preservation of maximum heat inside the room.

In the process of erecting the frame, do not forget to leave an opening for installing the door. At the same stage, install the door frame - it is enough to fix it between adjacent racks with screws. It is better to remove the door leaf before the completion of the finishing work.

Ceiling frame device

The installation of the ceiling of an apartment bath is carried out in one simple step: you simply tie the upper ends of the vertical support posts with wooden boards. On this frame is ready. Instead of boards, you can use a sheet of drywall. Further, a lining will be attached to this base.

If you wish, you can completely leave the “native” ceiling, but it is unlikely to fit into the interior of the finished bath.

Before starting the final decorative finish, decide on the issue of laying electrical wiring in your apartment sauna. In a good way at this stage, you need to enlist the support of a professional electrician.

In general, you need to run wires to install an outlet, a switch, and a couple of low-power fixtures.

Lay the wires along the outside of the support frame. The electrical cable must run along a special protective sleeve. The latter is fixed on the frame elements.

Lamps are connected strictly in parallel. The phase for the lighting equipment will be given by the heater, and you need to stretch the power and lighting wires directly to the heater through the metal hose.

Finishing work

For sheathing apartment saunas, lining is traditionally used.

First step. Sheathe the ceiling. Start attaching the sheets to the previously prepared base from the side of the front door. For fastening, use hidden nails. You can make them yourself by first biting off simple nails with the appropriate tool.

Nails must be hammered in at a slight angle. Fix the lining to each frame board.

Second step. Prepare the lining for wall decoration by preparing holes in the appropriate places for the output of electrical wires. The diameter of such holes should correspond to the diameter of the metal hoses. Pass the metal hose through the holes and proceed to fix the lining.

Third step. Sheathe the frame of the walls with clapboard. Fastening is carried out in the same way as in the case of finishing the ceiling.

Do not bring the bottom boards to the floor by about 2 cm - this will create the necessary ventilation hole.

Installation of benches and doors

The height of the ceiling in the apartment bath, as already noted, will not exceed 190-210 cm. If the ceiling is higher, a “pipe effect” will be created in the steam room: draft will increase, drafts will appear, heating efficiency will decrease.

In such conditions, it is possible to comfortably accommodate only 2 benches. Place the top one at a distance of about 1 m from the ceiling of the steam room. Make the lower bench at a height of 60-70 cm from the floor. Additionally, install a step under the lower bench at a height of 20-25 cm from the floor for greater convenience.

First step. Prepare the material for the bench frame. For this, a bar with a section of 4x8 or 5x10 cm is optimally suited.

Second step. Start assembling the frame. First, attach the main horizontal bar to the wall opposite the entrance to the bath. Use screws for fastening.

Third step. Attach the side bars to the walls and connect them with the front horizontal bar.

Fourth step. For greater structural stability, install several vertical support posts along the length of the bench.

Fifth step. Assemble the frame for the second bench in the same way. Fasten the frames together with screws.

Sixth step. Finish the lining of the benches with clapboard. Fasten the sheets with countersunk nails to each crossbar and frame rack.

In conclusion, you will have to install the door leaf. The best option for a bath in an apartment is a glass door, which can be tinted.

Buy a door that opens outward. There should not be any "serious" locks in the door design for your own safety. Permissible maximum - weak magnetic or roller latches.

The choice of heating equipment

Traditionally, for heating apartment baths, the so-called. electric heaters. Select the appropriate equipment power. For example, to heat a bath with a volume of about 9 cm, an electric heater with a power of about 12-14 kW will suffice. Take a break from this.

It is also important to determine the optimal weight of the stones. To warm up 1 m3 of space, 5-5.5 kg of stones will be needed.

Also, special infrared emitters are well suited for an apartment bath. They warm up the steam room as quickly as possible and have a beneficial effect on human health.

Even those who refuse to visit a traditional steam room due to high pressure can take a steam bath with an infrared heater. Moreover, IR units are more economical than the mentioned electric heaters and do not require the use of stones.

The heater is best installed after all finishing work has been completed. Fasteners and installation instructions are supplied from the factory. Install according to the manufacturer's recommendations.
