I refused to focus my attention on the negative, when, suddenly, I decided to examine the dishes in daylight (which is not easy to do in December): stains and a slight white coating were found on the glasses.

OK, this is all our hard water, I thought, but I bought tablets of the German brand Sodasan, which is very nice to me. Looking at the glasses after Sodasana, I was horrified: from transparent, they became matte. Admire:

Quietly swearing, I bought Almawin tablets, another representative German brand of safe household chemicals. I must say right away: the results of Almavin consoled me a little: stains and a white coating on the glass were still noticeable, but did not make the glasses flagrantly dull. So, having experienced all three of the most widespread eco-brands of dishwasher tablets in Moscow, full of frustration, I left for Germany for the BioFach 2013 eco-products exhibition. .

But first I came across the Canadian brand Atittude - natural household chemicals of the "premium class", forgive me for this vulgar language of the merchandiser. "Attitude" just recently appeared in Moscow, but has already managed to win me over with its impeccable naturalness. “What about your dishwasher tablets?” I asked, showing them photos of what Ecover and Sodasan had done? “No, our tablets do not leave such a coating. Here, try it,” the gentleman with the Atittude badge tossed a handful of pills into an envelope for me. For a split second, I even regretted that I hadn’t taken the dishwasher with me.

The next point of presentation of photographs of washed glasses was the booth of Ecover. A pleasant young man with glasses understood all my claims in an instant - you need to use this liquid to wash glass in the PMM - he rushed to the shelf and grabbed a bottle with a gray cap: “This liquid will get rid of streaks and white plaque. Try it and see for yourself!" There was a German word that was difficult for me on the bottle label, so, just in case, I fixed it, here it is:

At the Sodasan booth, I had a long conversation with the kindest Jorgen Hack, who, even without looking at my photos, instantly understood the problem: “Yes, Sodasan tablets leave a coating. By the way, you think that this plaque is only on the glass, but it is also on the plates. It's just invisible. Plaque is formed due to the calcium present in the water. We do not use phosphates, so our tablets, when used alone, do not wash away plaque. How to solve this problem? There are several methods that are best used simultaneously:

• add salt to PMM;
• reduce the temperature in the dishwasher - less than 50 degrees - low temperature does not allow calcium to remain on the surface;
• you can also throw the tablet directly into the machine, rather than putting it in a special container - it will dissolve faster.

Already in Moscow, I saw that there are the fourth way to get rid of plaque is to buy a special rinse agent for PMM brand "Sodasan"(about 370 rubles). However, in terms of household budget, the decision is not the first choice.

Therefore, upon arrival, I tried to add salt and throw a Sodasan tablet just into the car - yes, Mr. Hak was right: the plaque decreased significantly, but, alas, did not completely disappear. Unfortunately, I could not lower the temperature: the instructions for the car were hopelessly lost.

Moscow tests continued. Small square tablets "Attitude" inspired me with directly brilliant results: the dishes do not smell of chemicals, food residues are almost invisible, and, most importantly, the glasses are transparent. Yes, small divorces still remain. But, apparently, this is already a question for Mosvodokanal - very hard water.

However, recommending Atittude, even wonderful, but almost golden (one dollar apiece), PMM tablets, as the only eco-alternative to traditional remedies, is not the most useful recommendation.

And then the incredible happened: Russian (!!!) manufacturers under the name iKeep! sent their PMM pills - and made this review much more practical. Made in Denmark, iKeep! tablets are free of phosphates, ionic surfactants, chlorine and metal silicates. Possess the European Ecolabel mark. which indicates the responsible attitude of the manufacturer to eco-resources.

In my iKeep tablet test! showed no plaque, very few streaks on the glass and satisfactory results in the washing off of food residues from dishes. The packaging says that they remove tea plaque, but in my tests this was not so obvious: on some cups, the plaque disappeared, while for some reason it remained on others. But in general, iKeep! tablets, being the cheapest of the subjects, showed high results, comparable to the results of Atittude tablets.

Why the inexpensive Russian iKeep! does not leave a plaque, unlike the recognized leaders in ecological household chemicals - Ecover, Sodasan and Almawin? The ability to read labels provides the answer to this tricky question. Tablets iKeep! contain polycarboxylates (less than 5%), which other brands do not have. It is polycarboxylates that show good results in the fight against plaque. But it is they that do not allow quite eco-friendly iKeep tablets to achieve! strict biodegradability.
