Do-it-yourself corner computer desk. Do-it-yourself computer desk: drawings, assembly diagrams, professional recommendations How to make a do-it-yourself computer table

A computer desk is not only a place where the system unit, keyboard, mouse, printer is located, it also has other functions. There is a need to store discs, notebooks, and other stationery in it. An important factor is how it fits into the overall interior of the room with its size, shape, design. In stores it is difficult to find a model that meets all the parameters.

This type of furniture is not one of the most difficult to make with your own hands. A simple, but meeting all the requirements option is done literally in a day. And if a person has skills, models are available to him that are in no way inferior to branded ones. The advantages are obvious: if you need to pay from 400 to 700 dollars for a cool computer desk, then a home-made one will cost a maximum of 3 thousand rubles.

    Which model to choose - the right choice

    If we consider the finished product, it is noticeable that all computer furniture comes down to three types: corner table, straight and combined. Choose based on the following considerations:

    • compliance with ergonomic requirements;
    • frequency of using a PC for work;
    • window placement;
    • affordability of materials for manufacturing.

    The right choice of location in the room plays an important role in the health and longevity of the monitor. Almost no one has monitors similar to a TV set, which put a lot of pressure on the psyche with their glare and buzz, planted vision. Modern flat screens are much more convenient in this regard, but their usability and durability suffer significantly from direct sunlight. Then it is difficult to see something, and the phosphor of the display burns out several times faster, surpassing even the old tube ones in this respect.

    The location next to the window on the north side of the building is also not an option - there is not enough light for work not related to a computer. The best place when natural light comes from the west. Avoid rooms oriented to the south. Even the rays caught by peripheral vision are no less harmful than glare on the screen.

    Variety of computer desks

    The corner table is ideal when the PC is mainly used for entertainment. Even a person who has encountered this for the first time, but who knows how to work with tools, can make it. You will need a little material, you will have to spend two times less money than on more functional options - in the region of 1.5 thousand rubles. It occupies a very small space, suitable even for south-facing rooms if curtains and blinds are installed on the windows.

    For people for whom a computer is not entertainment, but work, such a design is not suitable. There is space in and out of the desk to set up everything you need, but you need to place not only the PC and basic equipment, but also a lot of extras.

    The corner computer desk is inconvenient in this regard, you constantly need to watch, no matter how you catch something. Resting is also problematic - it is difficult for a person who is passionate about work to tear himself away from the monitor, and besides him, he sees nothing else. An unequivocal conclusion is that it is harmful for children, schoolchildren and even first-year students to work in such conditions.

    A straight table is a writing desk, modernized for a computer. It is zoned in different ways: the display is installed so that direct light does not fall on it, or a multi-level model is created. Production is advisable when the Internet is used occasionally or when it is not required to enter a lot of data. Materials will be needed twice as much as compared to the corner.

    The ideal option is to use a computer-desk, subject to proper placement. This is an indispensable model for freelancers and anyone whose main job is related to the PC. Convenience is directly proportional to costs: it costs 40 percent more than the previous one. Accuracy is required, the use of special tools: electric jigsaw, manual milling cutter.

    When choosing drawings of a computer desk for making your own hands, pay attention to important points of ergonomics :

    • the keyboard drops an average of 60 mm down from the point where the user sees best - this is 23–35 cm;
    • the display is located in relation to the eyes at an angle of 0–20 °;
    • the project should provide for the location of the elbows on the table - during prolonged work, hanging hands provoke diseases of the musculoskeletal system.

    Placement of additional devices

    The convenience of using a computer depends on how conveniently the peripherals are located. Therefore, when choosing a project, you should start with it. The keyboard is usually located on a sliding board. But since wireless models have become widespread, it’s not necessary to think out much where to place it - move it aside, if there is no need, and work on. Regarding the little things (modem, router), the top shelf of the table is the most convenient place for it.

    Copiers and printers are located where their service is available. If the printer is located somewhere in the corner under your feet, then working with it is very problematic - you can’t really fill the paper or pick up the finished documents. On the table, such devices are also not really needed, because they are not used very often. So the way out is bedside tables with a shelf. For a homemade table, there is always a piece of chipboard or plywood.

    With a scanner, it’s a little more complicated: a device towering above everything is also not needed. For him, they make a special niche in the cabinet so that the lid of the apparatus is at the same level as the countertop. Convenient, does not take up space and is always at hand. Another good option is sliding shelves on good rails. To prevent the gadget from accidentally flying off, it is installed on double-sided tape.

    So that the table does not look like a rough home-made, it should be decorated. There are many execution techniques, everyone chooses what is available. A simple way is painting, but there are others besides it, including those that allow you to give an original look: decoupage, pasting with multi-colored tape, special film, veneer trim.

    Classic rectangular table - step-by-step production

    After the person has decided on the basic requirements, a sketch is made. To create it for yourself, you do not need great talent - it should show the general appearance and details of the structure. Next, the allotted space is measured, all the parameters of not only the table, but also the room are marked on paper. Then drawings are created - not necessarily at a professional level, but simply sketches with dimensions.

    Ergonomics of a computer desk

    On finished projects, a standard height is usually indicated: 75 cm. For a tall person, this is not very convenient - the parameter is increased. To know how much, use the formula: height × 75/175. For example, if a person is 185 cm, the calculations look like this: 185 × 75 / 175 = 79. The product drawing provides:

    • place to place the monitor;
    • retractable keyboard stand;
    • shelves in the table for small parts and above it with books, speakers, flowers;
    • cabinet for storing papers and other things.

    Next, the necessary materials are calculated: how much chipboard, plywood, boards, bars, handles, fasteners and other fittings are required. What the computer desk will be made of does not play a special role: it all depends on the taste and capabilities of the person. Wood is the most reliable and durable, but at the same time expensive. Therefore, various boards based on wood or plastic are used. If the design requirements are increased, choose metal and glass. Working with them is extremely difficult, so for making your own hands this is not a very suitable option.

    The scheme of a computer desk of a classical form is shown in the figure. It is available for manufacturing even to a person without experience. You will need furniture panels, a board 12 × 120 mm, plywood, sandpaper and varnish. To assemble the structure yourself, you will need to purchase 3 handles for installation in boxes, 50 screws 5 × 60 mm, dowels and a set of guides 400 mm in length. More reliable telescopic. Common tools: hacksaw, drill, screwdriver, square, tape measure.

    Bottom frame - blanks and assembly

    They start by sawing out the main details: countertops, bottoms, bedside table covers, three vertical walls. The latter are subjected to additional processing: they cut off the front upper corners of 2 × 2 cm, which are then rounded with sandpaper, and the back ones to the size of the plinth.

    On the edge behind the central wall, a sample is made of 20 cm with a depth of 18 mm. From the floor, it is located at a height of 265 mm. A chipboard cross member will be installed here, which will stiffen the structure by connecting all three racks. It is screwed to the side walls with self-tapping screws. Holes are drilled in the blanks, then the lower frame is assembled.

    Then they take up space for the system unit. A small sidewall is cut out, at which the upper corner is cut off (rounded with sandpaper) and the lower one under the plinth. A shelf is attached to it. Everything is fixed together on a large wall and a rear cross member. The openings from below are closed with plinth panels, using dowels as fasteners.

    Superstructure - measurement accuracy matters

    First, the side elements are cut out, the front corners are rounded from above. For even fixing on the countertop, a template is made of the same material. Holes are drilled in the ends. It is applied to the lid and the attachment points are correctly marked. Through holes are made in the countertop, and blind holes are made in the sidewalls. To make it even, use a square, checking the geometry of the structure with it. They climb under the table and screw the screws through the cover through into the lower ends of the sidewalls for secure fixation.

    Two parts are made from the shield: an upper shelf 315 mm wide and a transverse rib for additional rigidity. The table must be strong so as not to crumble. The middle vertical wall is screwed to the lid in the same way as the side ones. Using a template, holes are marked, drilled and screws are screwed from below through the cover into the end. Do not forget about the square, controlling the location of the elements with it.

    After installing the central vertical partition on the sidewalls, a rear rim is installed. The upper shelf is laid on the end of the middle element, aligned and screwed. Now the setting has a frame, and the whole structure has begun to take on clear outlines. The left shelf is placed at such a height that it does not interfere with working with the printer, scanner or MFP standing under it.

    How to make boxes

    For the walls, a board 12 × 120 mm will do. 4 blanks are twisted with self-tapping screws from below, thin plywood is sewn on the bottom. The width and depth are chosen depending on the internal dimensions of the bedside table, the parameters of the guides.

    Their fastening starts from the bottom: it is more convenient to determine the further location of the boxes. The offset from the front edge of the side walls is equal to the thickness of the furniture board - 18 mm. It is needed to fix the decorative panels on the front wall. The guides are screwed, adhering to the required distance and symmetry.

    Holes are made in the cladding for the screws fastening the handles, which simultaneously connect the front panel and the front wall of the drawer. All details are installed in the opening of the nightstand. To correctly determine the location, wedges are inserted between them.

    Through the holes in the front walls with an awl, marks are made on the front board of the boxes. The stock screws sold with the handles do not fit. They are not designed to mount through the front panel and front board - you need to buy a longer one. Additionally reinforced from the inside with self-tapping screws.

    Corner design - product features and installation

    The location of such a model requires adhering to the recommended parameters. Going beyond the limits causes inconvenience in work.

    The overall dimensions are calculated based on the above. If the optimal dimensions are chosen, then the depth of the corner where the person is located is 50–60 cm.

    The following instructions describe the manufacturing procedure:

    1. 1. Using the drawing, draw all the details on the material and cut them out. Non-laminated board is treated with an antiseptic.
    2. 2. Assemble the racks. On the right is the large section. If it is planned to place drawers in it, then guides are pre-fixed on the inner walls.
    3. 3. Mount the corner support. A rectangular frame is installed on it, a place is provided for a sliding shelf where the keyboard is located.
    4. 4. Drill holes: 2 are required for the sidewalls, and one on each side of the corner support. Answers are made in the countertop.
    5. 5. Dowels are lubricated with PVA glue and installed in racks. Mount the cover. The sections at the back are covered with fiberboard walls.
    6. 6. Make drawers, install in place. If shelves are planned, then they are closed with a door.

    To make high-quality models at home, special attention is paid to fasteners. It must meet the following requirements:

    • be invisible;
    • allow the possibility of tightening;
    • allow multiple disassembly and reassembly.

    Self-tapping screws are usually used, but they are not very reliable: over time, the fixation is weakened. To prevent this from happening, the assembled model is disassembled, the parts are cleaned. Carpenter's glue or PVA is applied to the screws, twisted. This method makes it impossible to lift.

    Confirmates are used in modern furniture, which have the best properties:

    • create an effort that compensates for shrinkage;
    • compact the material, and do not cut it like screws;
    • easily unscrewed, you can tighten, disassemble and assemble the structure up to five times;
    • do not require installation on glue.

    Confirmate is screwed into pre-made holes - they are with a blunt tip. It is important to choose the correct diameter of the drill, as well as the depth - exactly the size of the screw. When screwed into the end of the board, an array with a thickness of 1.2 times the diameter of its neck is required on both sides (indicated by D1).

    Make sure that the material under the head does not become loose. It is covered with a decorative plastic overlay, which is noticeable. But this is the only drawback of confirmations, which does not play a significant role.

    Ball guides

    Roller guides are unreliable, soon break. It is recommended to use ball Kulkov - the box runs smoothly, the closer works clearly. They are a little more difficult to mount.

If you have a desktop computer, then in the apartment, along with the obligatory pieces of furniture, there must be a special design table that allows you to place a complete set of personal PC equipment on it. Moreover, very often it is not always possible to purchase a table that is ready for use, since many of the proposed models simply do not fit into the atmosphere of a particular apartment. The easiest way out of this situation is to self-assemble a table for a PC, made taking into account the characteristics of the room allotted for it. But before you make a computer desk with your own hands, you definitely need to familiarize yourself with the known options for these prefabricated structures, as well as with the features of their manufacture.

Design choice

The whole variety of well-known models of computer tables used in domestic conditions can be reduced to the following three types:

  • corner;
  • with a direct arrangement of a table-top;
  • combined.

In the case of self-manufacturing of the table, the choice of the option suitable for you should be made taking into account the following requirements:

  • ergonomics;
  • the right choice of location, taking into account the quality of natural light, depending on the location of window openings;
  • availability of raw materials and ease of manufacture.

The first of these requirements means the creation of conditions that ensure the convenience of using the computer environment (mouse, keyboard, system unit and monitor). The possibility of their implementation should be provided for by the very design of the future product.

As for the choice of a place for a computer desk, here, first of all, the protection of the display screen from direct solar radiation, which can lead to burnout (fading) of its cells, should be taken into account, and it is very inconvenient to work in such lighting. That is why the stand with the display, which is part of the product, should be positioned in such a way that the light from the sun does not fall directly on it, regardless of the orientation of the windows in the room.

The choice of a workplace with a low level of illumination (windows are located on the north side, for example) is also undesirable, since this complicates the work with paper documentation and in this case additional lighting will be required even during the day.

The most convenient option is the western or northwestern location of the windows in the room allotted for a PC. The choice of a specific desktop option (angular, straight or combined) depends on a number of factors that will be discussed below.

A feature of corner structures that occupy a minimum of space in the room is its compactness and the ability to organically fit into spaces limited in area. In addition, such tables are cheaper in terms of total material costs and easier to manufacture than all other models and therefore can be easily made even by a beginner in plumbing.

The shortage of usable area in such a structure can be compensated by an increase in its number of storeys, i.e. due to the manufacture of an additional retractable panel for the keyboard and a separate shelf for speakers. In a simplified version of such a product, the system unit is installed directly on the floor of the room (under the table).

Full straight table

The difference between a direct computer desk and a regular desk is that its individual sizes and shapes are adjusted to the requirements of ergonomics. In addition, when organizing its free space, you can choose any depth of zoning that is convenient for you. In other words, this design allows you to implement a variety of equipment layout options, ranging from allocating a separate place for a display on a tabletop to a complex multi-level organization that allows you to place everything you need for professional work.

Materials for the manufacture of such a table will require approximately twice as much as for the arrangement of a corner structure. In addition, its self-assembly will require the performer to have carpentry skills related to the processing of various types of wood material.

Combination table combines the advantages of a computer and a simple desk and is ideal for professional work at home. However, you will need much more materials for the manufacture of such a table (by about 30-40%), since the manufacture of complex structural elements is associated with the formation of a large amount of waste. In addition, for preliminary sawing of these elements, carried out immediately before their assembly, you will need a special cutting tool (an electric jigsaw or a hand mill used to select curly grooves).

The simplest and most affordable for self-manufacturing is the angular design, which allows, with a minimum of material and physical costs, to provide the required ergonomics and ease of placing the table within a small room. It is this option that we will consider in the future.

Manufacturing procedure

For the manufacture of a corner table, a dense laminated board (chipboard) is usually used, which provides the required reliability and durability of the structure assembled on its basis.

Frame manufacturing

To make it, you will need the following raw materials and tools:

  • chipboard blanks;
  • jigsaw and screwdriver;
  • a small sketch with instructions on the dimensions of the structural elements;
  • pencil and ruler;
  • aluminum corners;
  • wood glue.

The assembly of the frame base is carried out in the following sequence:

  1. First of all, according to the sketch, all the main blanks from chipboard are cut out, used to decorate the two rear walls, sidewalls and the tabletop itself.
  2. Then they are directly assembled, for which you will need the previously prepared corners and small wood screws (in order to avoid splitting the plate, their length should not exceed 1.5 cm).
  3. During the assembly process, first of all, the tabletop is fixed on the extreme sidewalls, and only after that the back walls are mounted, giving it the necessary rigidity.
  4. After the supporting frame of the table is assembled, it will be possible to proceed to the installation of intermediate partitions, through which several working compartments are formed (under the system unit, keyboard, as well as for placing literature, documents, etc.).

Mounting Features

In the process of manufacturing a computer desk, we recommend that you pay attention to the following subtleties of assembly operations regarding the design of fasteners:

For fastening, it is best to use confirmations, but you will also need to purchase a special drill for them. If the design is simple, then you can mount with self-tapping screws.

  1. Before screwing the self-tapping screw into the slab, first a hole is prepared at the attachment point with a thin drill (to a depth corresponding to the length of the self-tapping screw).
  2. To increase the strength of the structure and ease of assembly, individual attachment points can be reinforced by pre-treatment with a special adhesive composition. In this case, the adhesive can be applied both to the area where the self-tapping screw is screwed in (directly into the hole), and to the contact areas of the joined workpieces.
  3. When screwing in self-tapping screws, the screwdriver must operate in low speed mode; at the same time, it is important not to overdo it with tightening the mount (which is why it is most convenient to use special models of devices equipped with so-called ratchets for these purposes).

Installation of the sliding panel under the keyboard begins with fixing metal profiles used as guides on adjacent side racks. (They are usually installed about 20 cm below the level of the countertop).

On the panel itself, small rotating rollers are attached, through which it moves along with the keyboard.

Upon completion of all the procedures described above, the resulting structure is necessarily checked for strength, after which it will be possible to proceed to placing the entire set of items from the computer environment on it.

Drawings of a corner computer desk. Dimensions.

According to the preliminary design project, the MFP is installed on a retractable console, which is attached to the top and side of the cabinet. One of the sidewalls of the cabinet simultaneously acts as a support for the tabletop, transferring the load to the legs. The reason why the role of the support is given to the inner sidewall is visible from the design itself, in this form, access and work with the MFP can be carried out from almost all sides.

  1. Corner Computer Desk Project .
  2. Scheme and detailing of a computer desk .
  3. Accessories for the manufacture of a computer desk .

Cabinet with drawers and a panel under the MFP.

Underframe.

The height of the underframe is equal to the overall height of the cabinet (740 mm), the length and width of the underframe is free and is calculated according to the dimensions of the tabletop (see section above).

To the curbstone, the inner sidewall of which is the support for the tabletop, is adjacent to the main underframe with one more, the farthest support and the rear vertical wall. The back wall performs three functions: it is a connection between the table supports, a vertical spatial structural rigidity element and an additional support for horizontal shelves. The back wall is attached with a gap between the tabletop, i.e. she does not rest against her upper end. Thus, we provided a place for the free passage of computer electrical cables.

Two horizontal shelves were placed between the table supports in the underframe, which can be used for various needs. For example, it is convenient to put your feet on the lower shelf when you want to lean back in your chairs and watch a movie from the monitor screen. In addition to everything, these shelves, together with the back wall, act as an element of spatial rigidity of the entire table.

The tabletop-bearing side of the underframe is mounted on mortise adjustable supports. .

Keyboard shelf.

You can make a keyboard shelf yourself to fit your size or use a special component for computer desks - a ready-made factory keyboard shelf.

The advantages of the finished shelf - you do not need to make it yourself, the disadvantages - it is used only for the keyboard.

Advantages - can be made any individual sizes.

A frame is made of two sidewalls and two connected planks. The shelf itself is installed on full extension ball telescopic guides.

Installation of the keyboard shelf is extremely simple, it is screwed with 4x30 self-tapping screws through the bonded strips under the bottom of the tabletop, directly into its place.

If you plan to use a corner table for a desktop computer, and not for a laptop, it becomes necessary to place the system unit. In order not to fence additional structures under the tabletop and make the system unit not tied to a specific place, we will make a stand for the system unit. You can use a ready-made accessory from the factory, but we like to do everything ourselves and will make it so that it harmonizes in design with the whole table.

Add-on for a computer desk.

Computer desk not only hides massive computer parts (processor, subwoofer, etc.) and numerous wires, but at the same time provides enough space for disks, books and other small things.

There are enough desks for a computer in the store roads. Independent making a table will save a lot monetary funds and will not take much time.

Types of computer tables

Options designs a lot of tables for the computer. straight and angled, compact tables and entire ensembles, including, in addition to the computer desk itself, all kinds of lockers, nightstands, shelves.

There are several types special tables, destined to install on them. laptop, ultrabook, netbook.

Very relevant for small apartments Options for transforming computer tables too varied: table-cabinet, table-cabinet.

Yes, narrow closet does not take up much space, and, if necessary, turns into full-fledged computer desk and all constituents computers are in place, and you do not have to clean them every time.

What can you make a table for a computer

Great option - computer from wood. You can also use other traditional furniture to create materials:

  • laminated sheets
  • MDF;
  • plastic;
  • metal;
  • glass.

Note! A metal computer table with a glass top is the best solution for a high-tech interior.

Calculation of the size of a computer desk

Difficulty in sizing corner computer desk, so first consider just this option.

Corner table dimensions

Factors that affect the size of the table:

  • Tabletop width. The minimum width of the worktop is 50 cm (500 mm). The optimal size is 60 cm (600 mm).
  • Section width(which are the table supports). Each table has a different section width. If it is a processor tray, 20–25 cm (200–250 mm). If the tray with drawers or door is 45–60 cm (450–600 mm).
  • corner depth(where the person is located). The minimum size is 50 cm (500 mm), the optimal one is 60 cm (600 mm).

Are common table dimensions are calculated based on the above sizes.
Side overlaps - 5 cm (50 mm).

Minimum table size

  • table top width 50 cm;
  • corner depth - 50 cm;
  • section width - 20 cm and 45 cm;
  • 5 cm + 20 cm + 35.4 cm + 50 cm = 110.4 cm - length of one wing table;
  • 5 cm + 45 cm + 35.4 cm + 50 cm = 135.4 cm - the length of the second wing.

Optimal table size

  • table top width 60 cm;
  • corner depth - 60 cm;
  • section width - 25 cm and 50 cm;
  • 5 cm + 25 cm + 42.4 cm + 60 cm = 132.4 cm - length of one wing table;
  • 5 cm + 50 cm + 42.4 cm + 60 cm = 157.4 cm is the length of the second wing.

Straight table dimensions

Dimensions direct computer desk calculated similarly. To do this, you need to know the width tray(or trays), working width places(50–60 cm) and overlaps(5 cm on each side).

Minimum table size

  • with one tray:
    5 cm + 5 cm + 20 cm + 50 cm = 80 cm;
  • with two trays:
    5 cm + 5 cm + 20 cm + 45 cm + 50 cm = 125 cm.

Optimal table size

  • with one tray: 5 cm + 5 cm + 25 cm + 60 cm = 95 cm;
  • with two trays: 5 cm + 5 cm + 25 cm + 50 cm + 60 cm = 145 cm.

Height table varies from 70 to 76 cm.

Note! It is not recommended to make a table above or below the prescribed dimensions, as this will lead to an incorrect body position when working at a computer, the development and exacerbation of diseases of the back and spine.

Drawing of a computer desk with dimensions

Materials and tools

On one's own do computer desk is not difficult. To do this, stock up materials and tools that will be needed in the manufacturing process and assemblies.

In addition to the base material (chipboard, MDF) you will need:

  • glue PVA;
  • pair guides for a sliding shelf (length - 30 cm);
  • self-tapping screws or confirmations(furniture screws);
  • dowels for furniture - 4 or 6 pcs.

You will also need the following to work. tools:

  • pencils square;
  • jigsaw;
  • drill;
  • screwdriver;
  • hexagon;
  • roulette;
  • sandpaper;
  • drill for confirmation.

Important! When cutting table parts made of laminated chipboard, be especially careful to cut rounded parts with an electric jigsaw so that there are no chips.

Straight computer desk

Consider the manufacture of simple models.

Step 1. We cut and process wooden parts for the future table:

  • side racks 735 x 465 mm - 2 pcs.;
  • central rack 735 x 380 mm - 1 pc.;
  • back wall 1090 x 290 mm - 1 pc.;
  • countertop 1200 x 580 mm - 1 pc.;
  • domestic shelves 450 x 250 mm - 2 pcs.;
  • retractable shelf 830 x 380 mm - 1 pc.

Step 2 in the side and central on the rack we make holes for confirmations: 4 for each shelf. We strengthen bottom shelf.

Step 3 Fasten in the same way top shelf.

Step 4 We fasten back wall.

Step 5 We fasten the second sidewall with the help of two confirmations. From the front it will look like this:

Step 6 Marking a place for guides and proceed to fix them. When choosing or making sliding shelves, you should remember about thickness guides (1 cm on each side).

Step 7 Fasten guides to shelf.

Step 8 Drilling small holes in lateral racks (under the dowels of the tabletop). Similar holes drilled into the table top. You do not need to drill through the countertop, but the depth should be not less than 25 mm.

Step 9 Lubricated dowels glue PVA, insert them into the ends frame table.

Step 10 We put the tabletop on top and insert the dowels into grooves.

On the surface of the table, also on the dowels, you can install shelves with drawers for small things, notebooks and disks.

Corner computer desk

Corner tables for the computer also come with superstructures and without add-ons.
Length wings:

  • minimum - 110/135 cm;
  • optimal - 132/157 cm;
  • maximum - 166/200 cm.

Step 1. Draw and cut everything details future table. If for the manufacture of the table are used not laminated materials, antiseptic.

Step 2 Cut out countertop. We collect side racks with shelves (confirmations). Right section (which is larger) can be with retractable drawers or with one door.

If a section is made with boxes, then on internal side of the side walls are pre-attached guides. Boxes are collected, which are also fasten guides.

Step 3 With the help of confirmations, he gathers angular table support.

Step 4 Attached to it is a rectangular frame with guides and a retractable shelf for keyboards.

Step 5 in the tabletop, lateral racks and corner support holes are made under dowels(2 pcs on each side and 1 pc on each side of the corner of the corner support).

Step 6 Dowels pre-lubricated PVA, are inserted into the side posts and corner support.

Step 7 Installed countertop.

The sections at the back are closed with walls made of Fiberboard. We cover the finished table varnish or paint.

Computer table decoration

If in the manufacture of the table are used laminated wood sheets, then any special finishes not required. Process only visible ends details.

For this, a special edge ribbon. It is made from different materials and there are different colors.

The edge gives the product a finished and aesthetic appearance, and also prevents the release of harmful to humans from chipboard formaldehyde. On the ends of the parts, the tape is glued with iron.

How to make a computer desk with your own hands, see video:

Almost every home has progressive technology, primarily a computer. To make operation more convenient, you need a desktop, for example, a transformer. If you do not plan to make a purchase in the near future, then do not despair. How to make a computer desk with your own hands? It's not that hard if you use the information provided. It will help the task or even make a real transformer.

In the general case (if you do not take the transformer as a special case), the structure includes several elements. Let's parse them:

  • countertop (to create it, it is most convenient to use a wood plate);
  • a cabinet or several cabinets designed for a variety of devices, for example, wires from a computer and so on;
  • a file cabinet designed for a couple of boxes (in this case, the dimensions of the boxes themselves must match the parameters of the folders);
  • a cabinet reserved for a printing device.

If you are not too well versed in carpentry, choose simpler designs and schemes that do not require the use of specialized tools, rather than a transformer, to create.

Be sure to take into account the presence of additional devices in the table. Their number and location must be taken into account at the design stage. To save space, choose folding models that, when unassembled, take up a minimum of space. We will disassemble the furniture and put it in a corner to free up space.

What materials will be required?

To complete the task, you will need:

  1. Medium density fibreboard (three sheets are enough). If desired, you can purchase maple veneer, however, its cost is several times higher than the price of the above option. Specialists involved in the production of furniture recommend giving preference to wood. Such material is best suited for the job, as it is economical in price and quite reliable.
  2. Glue for working with wood.
  3. Hole filling agent.
  4. Roller sled, which is useful for arranging drawers.
  5. Drawer handles and door hinges to create a comfortable closet.
  6. Priming agent.
  7. Paint and accessories for its application (brushes and rollers are best).

Choosing a place for a computer desk

Be careful about finding a suitable place where the built transformer or a completely ordinary table will be located. It is desirable that it does not take up too much space in the room, however, do not be too zealous when making a small table. In this case, a small computer desk will not be able to perform its functions to the fullest.

The correct location of the computer desk

There are several rules that must be observed when placing a table for a computer:

  1. Availability of constant access to the electrical network. If the source is an outlet, then you need to ground it before use.
  2. Window openings through which light passes freely. Experts say the following: "If possible, make sure that the source of natural light is located to the left of the workplace where the computer is installed."
  3. Lack of heating devices in the immediate vicinity. It is undesirable for devices such as radiators, fireplaces, electric heaters, and so on to be nearby. Otherwise, the risk that the technical tool will overheat and fail will increase significantly. Of course, such a condition is difficult to meet in the conditions of small apartments, however, it is worth trying.
  4. Lack of decorative items, such as paintings or non-functional shelves. They will only interfere with working on a computer at home, and therefore, if there is such an opportunity, then it is better to remove them. Such elements do not fit into the project at all.
