Luxurious chandeliers in the interior. Black chandeliers. What power is needed for a certain room

Apartment renovation

The chandelier in the apartment is like jewelry on a girl. It is possible not to wear them completely, but with a well-chosen decoration, the image becomes complete. The chandelier is one of those obvious touches that can bring luxury and brilliance to the interior. Illumination of space is one of the main functions of our device, but far from the only one, because even in the daytime, when the device is not working, it attracts attention. The chandelier is able to work on style, highlight zoning, serve as the center of the room or be a bright accent. As a result, the selection of the suspension must be approached with all seriousness.

Do we take neutral or color?

The most frequently asked question sounds like this - which chandelier to buy: neutral tones, transparent or colored? The main postulate: the chandelier must be chosen for your interior. It is necessary to take into account the style direction, color scheme, and in addition, the saturation with elements and textures.

A classic neutral chandelier made of crystal, wood, glass, metal will fit perfectly into the traditional interior design.

The neutral device is usually decorated in white, pastel, gold, silver, bronze, chocolate and similar shades. Such a chandelier is good for an interior that has a large number of different details, textures, ornaments and shades, and there is no dependence on its stylistic direction. Since one of the main principles of interior design is the pursuit of harmony.

Colored chandeliers are good in interiors made in a modern key and in a minimalist style, which have a not flashy, often neutral palette and an elegant lack of elements. In addition, such devices will fit into children's rooms.

The main color scheme of chandeliers

White chandelier in the interior

This is a classic version - on a white background of the ceiling - a white chandelier. This device looks very nice and elegant. This universal solution is suitable for almost any interior. If you have doubts about the choice of color, and you just can not decide? Feel free to buy a white chandelier, milky or transparent, and you will not regret it!

Black chandelier in the interior

Black appliances are good in interiors in such areas as baroque, art deco, minimalism, glamor and gothic.

In the interiors of these styles (except for minimalism), a dark chandelier helps to create a chamber entourage filled with drama. This detail is unimaginably spectacular - and cannot be ignored.

In a minimalistic modern interior, a black chandelier has a different task: it emphasizes the contrast with white surfaces, highlighting them. This once again allows you to emphasize the purity, airiness and tranquility of the interior.

Chandeliers of pink and red color in the interior

These colors are strong bright accents for modern chic interiors. Such a chandelier is able to draw all the attention to itself from other parts of the room. This property must be taken into account when choosing a color.

Devices in pink and red are great for both kitchens and dining rooms because they are “appetizing”, “sweet” colors. The hanger will share its color with the dishes, visually making them “tastier”.

In the sleeping area, this emphasis is not particularly appropriate. For this room, it is better to choose a dark chandelier.

Pink chandeliers are perfect for a girl's room. The little princess will surely enjoy this lighting.

Purple chandelier in the interior

A purple chandelier, in general, has the same qualities as pink and red. It is accent, dramatic, intriguing, bright, eye-catching. Ideal for styles: art deco, glamour, and baroque. It is possible that only in the kitchen the purple suspension is not as "edible" as the red one.

Orange chandelier in the interior

These devices often decorate dining and kitchen areas. Orange is a cheerful and "delicious" color that increases vitality and uplifting mood.

Turquoise, blue and blue chandeliers in the interior

This palette is one of the most used. The sky-colored suspension under the ceiling is very harmonious. Products made in blue and blue shades are suitable for various interiors: both soft and strict, both brutal and feminine, both industrial and classic.

Chandeliers made of turquoise and blue beads have gained high popularity. They are often placed in the dining area above the dining table. Although blue does not really help appetite, however, for those who control their weight, this is even a plus. This color of the chandelier allows you to make this area quite elegant.

Green chandelier in the interior

The green pendant resembles a piece of jewelry decorated with expensive stones. This device is able to revive the interior, give it the features of luxury. Green chandeliers will fit into refined, magnificent interiors, and in addition to any others as an unusual accent.

Yellow chandelier in the interior

Yellow chandeliers are not very popular. They are not very expressive. Since white or translucent pendants are also visually similar to yellow ones if warm glow lamps are used. In general, the yellow chandelier is quite neutral and almost does not stand out against the ceiling background.

One of the design tricks is that you can choose a chandelier decorated in a color that is already in the interior in the background. For example, if the surfaces of the walls and part of the furniture are pastel, and the curtains, armchairs and chairs are turquoise, then it is better to place a turquoise chandelier on the ceiling.

How to choose a chandelier color? Emphasize the secondary color in the interior

Also, the suspension is able to play the role of one of several color accents. For example, a monochrome room decorated in gray tones can be decorated with an orange rug and a chandelier.

When decorating in modern styles, it is quite appropriate to add single accents. For example, it is reasonable to install a red chandelier in a black and white room. Along with this, there may no longer be other red details in this room.

How to choose the color of a chandelier in a minimalist interior? Get a very bright one!

If you really liked a particular chandelier model that is suitable in style, size and shape, but its color is not in your interior design, do not despair. Color will not play the main role here, design is more important here. In addition, you can always add a small number of small elements to the interior in the color of the chandelier, and the overall picture will become whole.

Hello! Hands got to a serious and big topic, I don’t know if it will even fit into one article. So, today we will talk about chandeliers. There is an opinion that chandeliers are the last century and now is the time of built-in ceiling lights. Of course this is all complete nonsense. Chandeliers are always relevant, they are timeless. Built-in light will solve the problem of uniform illumination and that's it. A good chandelier puts the finishing touch to the decor of the room.

In terms of its role in the interior, I compare a chandelier with jewelry in clothes. You can do without them, but the image will be boring and unfinished. Ridiculous decorations will indicate the lack of taste of the hostess. Obsolete in that she has no idea what fashion is. Awkward ones can emphasize figure flaws. The same is true with light. All lighting elements (including sconces, table lamps, floor lamps) are jewelry and bijouterie of your home. And their choice must be approached very carefully so as not to spoil the whole impression. They don't have to be expensive. The price is not the main thing. But they should decorate, and not nullify all efforts to restore beauty.

At the same time, the decorative role of lighting is still not the main one. After all, light is primarily a function. Therefore, the most important and first selection criterion, I will call a sufficient area of illumination, which is covered by the chandelier. And we will definitely talk about beauty, but a little later.

Mistake number 1: a small area of \u200b\u200bchandelier lighting

First, we need to at least approximately calculate the area of \u200b\u200bthe room that we need to illuminate. And already based on this figure, navigate your choice.

An ordinary small ceiling chandelier with 3 horns with 40-60 watt lamps is designed for 6-9 square meters.

Why is it important? Because there is nothing more valuable and more important than health. Constantly being in a room with insufficient lighting is simply harmful. Okay, a bedroom, but such chandeliers are also chosen for a nursery.

There are specific rules to follow. More details can be found at the links Code of Rules "Natural and artificial lighting" and SanPiN 2.2.1 / 2.1.1.1278-03. Do not be intimidated by such huge amounts of information (for example, we just need to choose a chandelier for the bedroom), just keep in mind that the average norm for living quarters is 100-150 lux.

Always carefully study the technical specifications of the chandelier, they usually indicate the recommended lighting area. At least in most online stores this information is indicated. And if the technical part scares you, then just ask the managers about it, it's their job.

And you should always keep in mind that:

  1. Dark walls or ceilings will reflect light worse, which means that with the same chandelier in such a room it will be darker than with white ceilings and walls.
  2. High ceilings "eat" the light.
  3. Rough surfaces do not reflect light well and give micro-shadows - therefore, dim lighting is often obtained in wooden houses. I wrote about this in an article about.

Well, if you want to approach the issue even more seriously, then use the DIALux program.

This error almost always goes along with the next one.

Mistake number 2: the small size of the chandelier

Often found in the design of houses and cottages, rooms where there is a second light and generally high ceilings (above 3 meters). If the room is more than 16-20 squares (the average size of a typical living room with ceilings is 2.5 meters), then a regular-sized chandelier (which you are used to while living in an apartment) is likely to be small. What is suitable for an ordinary room, in a country house, is likely to be insufficient.

In general, scale and proportion are very important. There is even a formula by which it is recommended to calculate the size of the chandelier:

Diameter (cm) = Room length (m) + Room width (m) * 10 (cm)

For example, for a room measuring 3.8 m by 5.6 m (an ordinary small living room in a panel house), the recommended chandelier diameter is as follows: (3.8 m + 5.6 m) * 10 cm = 94 cm.

In theory, everything is just wonderful. But in practice, chandeliers of such diameters will cost, to put it mildly, not budget. Plus, the length of the suspension will be such that you, in your typical apartment, will touch it with your head. And among the ceiling with such a diameter, you simply will not find anything. I'm not kidding, right now I'm opening the website of one of the largest online stores with light, putting a filter on the ceiling chandeliers with a diameter of 90 cm, and voila, only 13 options, the price is from 38 to 549 thousand rubles. You probably won't like it. Therefore, the formulas are all very good, but often they are simply not applicable in life. For a standard room of 20-25 squares a chandelier with a diameter of 65-70 cm is suitable. vertically elongated shape. This is just the next common mistake - the height of the chandelier.

Mistake number 3: the wrong height of the chandelier

Here, it would seem, nothing complicated. Low ceilings - a flat chandelier, high - more voluminous. The right size will help adjust the height of the room, and the wrong size will visually lower the ceilings even lower. This is generally a problem, the proportions of the room immediately collapse. Rate it yourself.

The chandelier hangs too low. Probably there are standard 2.5 m in height, but it looks like 2.2-2.3 m. How to walk and not touch your head?

Laughter with laughter, but the head is actually an important landmark. We look at the doorways, their height is 2 meters. This is the very minimum that is necessary for free movement. So the height of your chandelier should be such that from floor to ceiling it is even more, not 2, but at least 2.2, but preferably 2.3 meters. Therefore, we adequately assess the height of our premises, and choose the light either ceiling or suspended. For hanging ones, we also additionally look at whether the height is adjustable, what is the length of the chain, whether something can be removed or unscrewed to adjust to the desired position. We are not shy to ask the manager to measure the height in the store with a ruler, it is better to measure and study it 100 times than to make sure later that the pendants rest against your crown and carry it back.

But with a lamp (chandelier) above the dining table, a slightly different story. This is local coverage, not general. Its role is to illuminate the table and what is on the table, and not the tops of those sitting, so it is located a little lower. But at the same time, it should not interfere with communication, block the view or blind the eyes. The optimal height of the chandelier above the table is around 90 cm. It can be a little higher, it can be 10-15 cm lower.

Mistake #4: outdated, ridiculous, unfashionable chandelier design

So I got to the most frequent and most interesting, but the most difficult to explain from the point of view of the decorator, mistake. Someone may argue that appearance is the tenth thing, because I myself said that the main thing in lighting is function. But if you neglect it, then all your efforts to restore the beauty of the house will come to naught.

I paid attention to the fact that light is the jewelry of the house. And it has its own fashion, which often has nothing to do with what is sold in most electrical stores. Everything is the same here, as well as furniture or clothes. There are, there are ugly chandeliers.

What chandeliers are in fashion now?

First, the terrible. But before that, I’ll explain that for me this is the most difficult part of the article, because I really have a bad idea of \u200b\u200bhow to explain what is beautiful and what is not in words. Even if you show it, you still need to somehow explain why one is beautiful, and the second is scary. Let's say it's obvious to me, I'm just guided by my taste. If I like it, it's beautiful, no, it means ugly. Like it or not, but this is by and large a matter of taste and there is no truth in this matter and cannot be, by definition. And personally, when evaluating something, I look at the forms, proportions, in general, catches the eye with something or not, whether it attracts attention. I will try to highlight the main points that are worth paying attention to.

Now the main trend for chandeliers is metal. There are other topics - plastic, glass, rattan, fabric, but metal, as it was the main material, remains so. Brass and copper fittings are especially popular. This is the most fashionable squeak 🙂 But they are in the budget segment, as usual, during the day with fire. The choice is very poor. A couple of years ago, world design tops with their own lighting lines, such as Kelly Westler and Jonathan Adler, returned chrome and nickel to the clip. I even remember a slogan of some kind: silver is back!!! But with him, everything is a little more complicated, in a matte finish, almost everything is definitely yes (if you are already confused about the texture, then the design is usually good), and polished nickel and chrome are very careful. Now I will explain why.

If a chandelier of yellow and red metal (both matte and polished) due to its color almost immediately becomes fashionable. But when it comes to silver metal, this is not enough. This is where form comes into play. Because all the rubbish and consumer goods are 90% chrome-plated. I will now show some examples.

The most terrible chandeliers:

  • Polished chrome and floral swirls and swirls in general, waves in the style of plasterboard arches and other squiggles on the ceiling. This is, as it were, modern, but collective farm modern (the designer of the chandelier may not agree with me).

  • Polished chrome and halogen bulbs. Reminds me of ashtrays.

In general, I can’t even remember a chandelier with a good design and halogen bulbs right off the bat. Even expensive ones. It does not depend on the price. If you search, you can find something, but most inexpensive (and often expensive) ones are brilliant trash. I really can't find the words and arguments why it's ugly, but it's ugly.

  • Polished chrome and LED bulbs.

  • polished chrome (and polished gold metal) in combination with colored glass, flowers + halogen.

In general, these models, by the way, are quite in great demand. They seem to be on the control panel. I don’t know, I don’t know… maybe the managers themselves are posting rave reviews. In general, all this is the most ordinary cheap / collective farm, if you like (even if the chandelier itself is expensive) pseudo-glamour. Never, never, never hang something like this in your living room.

It is better to turn your attention to completely different models. The most relevant form now is futuristic and the trend towards minimalism continues. These are all sorts of sticks, tubes, balls, "hedgehogs", lines, cylinders, plates - any simple geometric shapes. This applies to chandeliers of any material: incl. from polished and painted metal, plastic, glass, fabric. And a fashionable chandelier may not have shades at all (but this is not an indispensable condition).

Once again I will repeat the signs of modern actual fashionable chandeliers, it is not at all necessary that all of them be present at the same time:

  • futuristic form;
  • geometric elements;
  • matte yellow, red metal (copper, brass and alloys);
  • there may be no shades (a tribute to minimalism that has been relevant in the last few years).

They look like this:

And one last important question. Should the chandelier strictly match the style of the room? If you go this route, you can't go wrong. It will be almost impossible to miss. But, in general, this is not necessary at all. Designer chandeliers of the 70s, industrial, fit well into classic interiors, it turns out such a modernized classic, and classic ones, on the contrary, look great in modern ones.

Which chandelier to choose? 4 common mistakes: 99 comments

  1. Valeria

    Well… it’s incredibly difficult to pick up a chandelier….
The choice is huge, what only is not .... and don't like anything...

    1. Post Author

If the budget is low, then it’s really difficult to choose, but you have to look, an ugly chandelier will be like a thorn, you can send a photo for advice by mail.

      1. Inna

Hello. Tell us, in your opinion, what kind of sconce can match this chandelier SL483.502.03 Ceiling chandelier ST-Luce Chrome/White E27 3*60W. I liked the Sconce ST Luce SL849.101.01 Edificio and the wall lamp ST Luce SL591.501.01. I can't choose anyway. Maybe you will advise something?

      2. Vladimir

Good afternoon! Advice on choosing a chandelier! Room 18m2, ceiling 2.5, modern style. I liked the Chandelier 250 * 750 for 20 lamps, will it not be too large in the width of the room, only 3.10. There is the same one for 12 lamps 175 * 600, what would you advise to take? The color is chrome, the balls are gray, are there matte gold balls in gold transparent? I can email photos if you write.

  2. Galina

Can such chandeliers be considered relevant? On the one hand, this is not a halogen trash, but on the other hand, it’s hard to call it fashionable somehow ....

  3. Alexander

    Good material, informative

  4. Alyona

I really liked the selection of chandeliers in the trend) A truly difficult choice is to choose a chandelier so that it does not stand out in the room, but highlights the room) Thanks for the article))

  5. ea1

An interesting article, but I think that chandeliers are a thing of the past. This is a beautiful design element, but there is no light from it, plus a chandelier, even the most modern one, illuminates the center of the room, which is absolutely unacceptable in a room of more than 15 squares. The most intelligent option is LED panels with zonal connection to a 4-5 key switch, allowing you to create an atmosphere and comfort. And the figure of 150-200 lumens is clearly underestimated, this is the equivalent of 130 W of an incandescent lamp, darkness in a word. I have about 1400 lumens in my room and it's great, though it's a matter of taste.

  6. anton

good article, I will definitely use the tips.

  7. Nikitos

I always thought that the chandelier does not really matter for the interior of the room, until the repair began to be done independently. There was a problem with the fact that the chandelier seemed “not harmoniously larger” in relation to the size of the room, it looked somehow miserable :(. As a result, I had to buy another one, a little smaller.

  8. Asya

Hello, thanks for the article, I am also looking for two chandeliers - in the kitchen and in the hall. I would like to send you the models that I have looked at ... It is very difficult to choose

  9. Vladimir

Yes, thanks for the informative and detailed material, I was not too lazy to read it to the end (although, perhaps, there will be a continuation - wait, sir. Chandeliers, perhaps, reflect the character and taste of the apartment owners best. And, probably, it is difficult to unequivocally assess and understand what will look perfect in my interior. But such a thing as a fashionable chandelier - I do not agree. After all, this is not a piece of clothing that has been worn and changed without problems, if you buy a chandelier - then for many years (until the next repair at least). But fashion or trend — they have the ability to change, and if futuristic minimalism is in fashion today, then it’s not a fact that in five years it will look just as cool. And the classics are classics in Africa.

  10. Vadim

I read your article completely, I found what I need in only one sentence and without specifics. Can you explain a little in the comments, maybe insert a couple of photos at the expense of the second light? The question of choosing a light source is already in front of us in a country house - we are finishing the decoration. A wooden house made of profiled timber, a living room with a second light, and which chandelier to choose, we just don’t understand yet, even approximately ...

  11. Tatiana

Nelly, good afternoon! I enjoy reading your blog, it is written very concisely and there are many examples. Tell me which chandelier to hang on the attic floor? The bevel runs along the length of the entire room, the minimum height at the window is 2.2 m, the maximum on the opposite side is 3.5 m. The area of the room is 30 sqm. Thanks.

  12. Larisa

    Dear Nelly, good afternoon!

Let me consult with you on this matter. We have a two-room large apartment. two children. the eldest 12 years old - in a separate room. And the three of us are in the living room - the little one is 1.5 g. The living room is 22 sq.m. with two windows (Not at the end!). The entrance to the living room is in the form of an arch from the corridor opposite the wall with two windows. And the room from the corridor is clearly visible. I really want to have a private area, so that at least a bed of 1.5 can be placed. How to do this seems to be clear, divide the room in half and that's it !!! But, fearfully, how will it be later, will we be able to in a small living room, will it be convenient. Please advise. Room 4 * 6, where 6 m is its length and there are 2 windows on this wall. Or just install a partition in the form of a rack? Thank you for the informative, and most importantly, visual materials !!! Sincerely, Larisa Ulan-Ude

  13. Oksana

Nelly, good night! Your article turned out to be interesting, but it still caused conflicting feelings in me. Firstly, what you are positioning now as a “peep” of fashion is far from suitable for everyone, and secondly, you can’t really find it everywhere, which means it will cost a lot and not even on average. Thirdly, it seemed to me that you are more in favor of minimalism, but what about the good old classics? Can all classic chandeliers really be thrown into the trash?)) In addition, I agree with the comment above about the fact that the classics will never go out of fashion. But minimalism is not known how long it will last, especially futurism. I like the mix of styles the most. That's just such decisions need to be very well thought out so that the vinaigrette does not work out)). The theme of design is also close to me because I am finishing a long-term repair and just stopped at such interior items as chandeliers, curtains, and some of it still needs to be sorted out with furniture. Tell me, can I send you a photo and consult with you?

  14. Natalia Mikhailova

Nelly, good afternoon. I stumbled across your posts by accident. You write well, "tasty" so. I would be happy to advise. Although my daughter-in-law is an amateur designer (with a construction education) she realizes her talents remarkably. But her approach, her proposals for my apartment is to destroy the existing interior to the ground and create a new one, regardless of material possibilities. It doesn't suit me.
And the question is: how do you consider interiors with the possibility of preserving solid polished walls, veneered with mahogany, of the Soviet period. There are no closets or built-in wardrobes in the apartment.
Your opinion is very interesting. Thank you.

  15. Galina

To make the room look well lit, the light should fall on vertical surfaces, that is, walls. The human eye is so arranged that in a room it perceives bright only light reflected from the vertical. Therefore, there should be several different types of lamps in the room.

  16. Irina

Hello Nelly. I read several of your articles and realized how many mistakes I can avoid. Thank you. For a week now I have been studying the issue of lighting. Our room is a L-shaped room 3 in 1: living room, dining room and kitchen (living room / dining room approx. 23.5 + appendix for the kitchen 4.5 sq. m.) How to choose the right lighting so that everything looks harmonious? Do you need a chandelier in the sofa area if it is above the table in the dining area or are there enough spotlights with a wall lamp or a floor lamp? Is it worth separating the kitchen-dining area with pendant lights, if it is already zoned by a bar counter and a box above it? Could you at least push me in the right direction. And then from the variety of conflicting articles, the head is already spinning. Thank you in advance.

  17. Irina

Thanks a lot! Now the only thing left is to choose the right chandelier ... and not just one ... May the force be with me ...

  18. Olesya

Help, please with a choice. In the living room, the ceilings are 2.20 and the room itself is 15 squares. I have been dreaming of a hanging chandelier for a long time, but will it organically fit into my hall? I'm afraid that the light will not properly spread around the room. Check out this chandelier. What do you think? https://lightmarket.ru/katalog/products/osveshenie/lustry/svetilnik-maytoni-arm257-06-g

  19. Sergey

    Olesya!
Now they began to produce similar chandeliers with the possibility of fixing them rigidly without the top cup and chain, they will be about 350-550mm high, they look very cool. Or consider similar ceiling chandeliers.
    Or ask for help.

  20. Evgeniy

Nelli Mikhailova, I read your article with pleasure. Especially smiled "The most terrible chandeliers" you will not believe, but it is these chandeliers that are sold most often. especially a chandelier with square glass shades (picture 5 from top to bottom) is generally a top seller)))

  21. Alekhine

In addition to the first mistake, I would like to add that it is important to take into account the degree of darkness of the ceiling (s). Indeed, if their excessive darkening for the bedroom creates an atmosphere of intimacy and comfort, then for the living room such shades will be too dull.

  22. Olesya

I was just recently choosing a chandelier and discovered the fact that I had never paid attention to the area of lighting before. And in the store, consultants never ask about the area of \u200b\u200bthe room where the chandelier is chosen. While this is the most important thing - the chandelier should illuminate! Fortunately, in the online store where I purchased the chandelier, this indicator is in the first place in the description and I just could not help but pay attention to it!

  23. Natalia

I have an opinion that design in any style can look interesting. At the same time, any style can be killed by the lack of taste and harmony. In my opinion, the concept of “good interior” is when you get a beautiful picture as a whole. And the chandelier is not the last role. It's like the finishing touch to the design. Thank you for the detailed description of the errors when choosing a chandelier.

  24. Olya

Good afternoon Nelly! In parallel with the question of a chandelier, your opinion about spotlights is interesting (is it appropriate to use them to illuminate, for example, a sofa seating area) or is it better to use spotlights for 3-4 light bulbs? And you mentioned drywall niches. Is their use completely irrelevant?

  25. Andrew

I was looking for good lamps for a long time, I came across good sites, I went there, the prices are low, I ordered, paid, the goods came quickly, here are the links: alpha-centre.ru and evrosvetpro.ru

  26. Katerina

    Good afternoon Nelly!
I stumbled across your site by accident when I was remodeling. Your article about wallpaper helped, which talked about the location of the pattern in the entire wall. Before that, I wanted to do it in pieces, but I stopped in time)))
I turn to you for advice.
I looked at the chandelier in the room (room 6 * 3 with beige sand wallpaper, white ceiling, yellow wood door): one is light (but I'm afraid it will merge with the room), the other is darker. What's better?

    Another question:
Tell me, are there any standards for the selection of sconces? Not included.
    What to focus on?

  27. Alyona

Hello! I study the Internet about lighting and textiles in the apartment. I stumbled upon your site. Interesting. I take my hat off to people who boldly share their knowledge. I’m racking my brains over one question: the renovation is finished, the furniture is almost ready (the kitchen is standing, the hallway is standing, the hall is in order), now what comes first - the light or the curtains? What is the best place to start? First pick up chandeliers / lamps or curtains?

  28. Elena

Good morning. What do you think about the octopus type chandelier? And further. According to some designers, 2.5 m ceilings are very low, so the ceiling chandelier should either be removed altogether and replaced with other multi-level lighting, or made almost invisible, which will visually raise the ceiling. So I looked for an LED flat white light, big enough to light up an 18 sqm room. What do you think?

  29. Agatha

Thanks, very useful information. Like everyone else, I was looking for an idea for a chandelier and came across this blog. I wanted to thank.
There is little adequate and lively information on the Internet. And there is a thank you.

  30. Lyudmila

Hello, we moved to a new house for a year, almost everything has not been done in the house, but we are starting to settle down little by little, the chandeliers were hung a year ago, and the lamps are above the table now, and these lamps simply made the chandelier invisible, and I would not say that they are to me I like it, just like what they hang over, this is a bar that separates the kitchen and the living room, if it were lowered and made just a table, it is 60 cm wide, I would probably be happy, but my husband wanted to, I had to do this. And I have the question is how to choose the right lamps so that they do not focus on themselves a lot of attention

  31. Anna

Hello! Thank you very much for the article. I suffer with the choice of 2 chandeliers in the bedroom in the house. The bedroom is elongated like a pencil case, one chandelier is above the bed, the other will be almost at the exit from the room and at the same time in front of the entrance to the dressing room (also in the bedroom). Do they have to be from the same series? My bedroom is designed in golden-brown-beige tones, I laid eyes on the Maytony Chester chandelier, but I just can’t forget it ((And it turns out to be a continuation of the primary colors, and not a “bright” decoration. And pick up the 2nd lamp in front of the dressing room for it I can’t ... And I don’t dare to buy everything in one series for some reason. I’m afraid it will be boring (

Greetings my good ones! There are probably as many options for interior design as there are people. Each of us has our own concepts of beauty, style, taste and our own personal view of things, unlike others.

For some, a black and white bedroom is an incredible dream, and for some, a brown chandelier will become that indispensable item, without which all efforts to create the desired environment will be unfinished. Well, I propose to talk about this very chandelier.

What is it suitable for?

It is clear that such a model will not fit into absolutely any interior.

Nevertheless, it is worth noting that the brown color has a very, very positive effect on the psyche, promotes relaxation and distraction from problems and stress outside the window.

So, what will the brown chandelier be combined with?

But remember, if the overall design is already quite dark, you should not darken it even more with our chandelier.

For small rooms, it is also better to choose light lighting fixtures.

How to choose?

This has always been the hardest part. It was, is and will be! With the widest range of goods, it is very easy to get lost if you have not yet decided what you need 100% at home.

A brown crystal chandelier will add unusual charm, luxury and wealth to the interior.

However, if your living room or bedroom has a "low" ceiling, then it is better to refuse a large pendant chandelier. In this case, you will have to do with either spotlights or wall lights.

Also, for you a few tips when choosing:

Do not forget to pay attention to economy, i.e. energy consumption. It is preferable to choose a chandelier with the ability to use fluorescent bulbs, even if you don't really like their cold light.

Which style suits a brown chandelier

It is no secret and no news that interior design is created based on the chosen style.

Crystal brown chandelier will perfectly complement:

  • classic style.
  • For modern, the original model of deep chocolate or coffee color is best suited.
  • Hi-tech will also gratefully accept a similar version of the lighting fixture.
  • Art Deco itself is a non-standard and unusual style, so you need to choose the same original lamp here.
  • Vintage. Here it is a sin not to hang an old forged chandelier of a noble shade.

Each of you has a lot of options for a spectacular solution in the design of your home.

Conclusion

In general, you can find a chandelier that suits you in terms of character, style and design without any problems. Focus on your personal preferences and tastes.

The beauty and style of an object that can represent one of the central points that define the interior of a room is always important. Based on this provision, for many it becomes relevant to solve the problem of how to choose a modern chandelier according to the desired style, so that it looks spectacular on the ceiling and attracts attention with its appearance.

Modern trends introduce into life a variety of innovative ideas, technologies, developments. Sometimes quite bold in their content. But with all this, the factor of the classical canon is still in vogue, and the arrangement of a beautiful chandelier in the center of the room is one of the confirmations of this truth.

Design, shape and material may change over time. But the factor of the presence of a chandelier as an interior element remains unchanged. Against the background of the general interior, the chandelier is not just a light source.

Its function is to create a mood for people, comfortable conditions. Therefore, in addition to its main purpose, it is designed to attract attention with its design. Sometimes it can be simple and refined, not standing out from the general composition of the main interior items. But sometimes a beautiful chandelier plays the role of the only strong decorative accent, and all other items are relegated to the background.

Decoration of modern ceiling lamps

Deciding that the central lighting device must necessarily adhere to a certain style line, either consonant with the overall design of the room, or successfully harmonizing with it, chandeliers were developed in due time in forms adhering to existing design styles.

For example, the following types can be given:

A chandelier representing a classic style. An example of elegance and harmony. A reflection of symmetry and sophistication. It can be made of wood or represent a metal structure. Have a shade of platinum or resemble warm bronze.

As a special decoration, gracefully curved horns, candelabra, or a simpler design with a beautiful lampshade made of fringed fabric can act. The classic style of ceiling chandeliers creates a kind of charm that is labeled as timeless.

Until now, many admire exquisite crystal chandeliers. There are various styles of modern chandeliers in the world, but none of them can provide such a lighting effect as a classic with crystal pendants.

An additional advantage for the classic style of the chandelier is a good combination with the sconces located on the walls. A similar form of interaction with different directions of light streams, an obvious attractive addition to the traditional decoration. And not only to him.

A similar form of combinations of various types of lighting fixtures, ceiling chandeliers and wall sconces, fits perfectly into modern fashionable stylish interiors, such as eclecticism or fusion.

The modern design of chandeliers is designed to experiment both with new forms and with colors and materials. Attention is attracted by the fact that both the functioning and the design style of modern lamps are always in the center of general attention. The modern design of the chandelier always immediately becomes noticeable. Creative design options fascinate and cause genuine admiration.

Materials for modern lamps are metal, plastic, glass. Even paper can be used. There are no restrictions. The texture is created in the form of a fancy or simple geometric view. A form in which a modern chandelier acts as the perfect complement to a modern, trendy minimalist interior.

Over time, many trends change, but the generally accepted rules for combining forms and the harmonious ratio of various elements of the same style remain unchanged. Today, a similar trend has already been adopted by the latest beautiful chandeliers of 2018.

Ceiling Light Parameters

In terms of their dimensions, modern chandeliers can differ significantly from each other. The category of the main predetermining positions for the placement of modern ceiling lights includes the following provisions:

Chandeliers are selected and placed depending on the functionality of the room. If this is a living room, then we can talk about a large beautiful modern chandelier that can become the centerpiece of the interior. Its external form should attract attention with its originality.

For small rooms, such as, for example, a kitchen in a small apartment, the types and sizes of modern chandeliers are limited in parameters.

Here, small-format modern samples are more acceptable. Such as ceiling lamps with beautiful shades, rigidly attached directly to the ceiling surface.

For larger ancillary spaces, dining rooms or wide kitchens, pendant lights are considered acceptable. Evenly distributed over the surface, despite the small external shape, they may well set the main tone in the interior.

Modern search techniques

Careful selection of a modern chandelier is always essential. Of course, a huge assortment can lead to a certain stupor. But the more important it becomes the need to comprehend everything. Compare important details (combination of colors, materials of manufacture, harmony of contrasts). No need to regret the time spent looking for a suitable option. After all, in the end, a person gets exactly what he wants.

However, to facilitate the task of finding a modern chandelier for a particular room in an apartment or house, there are well-known methods. They consist in searching for information on the Internet, directly at the outlets of the main manufacturers and other places where they can provide catalogs of relevant products for review, with colorful photos of modern chandeliers posted.

Most often, the Internet helps to make a successful purchase. And this always feels the spirit of modern life. Save time and get the desired result. Namely, the very modern beautiful chandelier.

Which one to choose?

A chandelier in the interior is like a decoration on a woman. You can do without it, but with the right product, the image becomes complete. The chandelier is the same bright touch that adds shine and luxury to the interior. Lighting is not the only function of a chandelier, because even during the day, when the light is off, it attracts attention. A chandelier can emphasize style, work for zoning, be a focal point or serve as an accent. Therefore, the choice of a chandelier must be taken seriously.

Today we will talk not about the size and style of the suspension, but about how to choose the color of the chandelier.

In color or in "neutrality"?

Which chandelier to choose: neutral transparent white or colored? The main rule: the chandelier must be selected for the interior. It is necessary to take into account the style, palette, as well as saturation with details and textures.

For a classic interior, a traditional neutral chandelier made of metal, wood, glass, and crystal is perfect.

Neutral chandelier can be made in white, transparent white, cream, bronze, silver, gold, brown and similar colors. Such a suspension is preferable for an interior filled with a wide variety of elements, textures, prints and shades, regardless of its style. After all, one of the most important principles of design is the desire for balance.

Colored chandeliers are organic in interiors designed in a modern and minimalist style with a calm, mostly neutral range and an elegant sparseness in detail. In children's rooms, colored pendants are also appropriate.

Chandelier palette: let's go through the colors

White chandelier in the interior

A white chandelier on a white ceiling is a classic. Such a pendant looks the most elegant and elegant. Suitable for absolutely all interiors. Doubt what color to give preference and can not come to a consensus? Choose a white chandelier, transparent or frosted, and you definitely can't go wrong!

Black chandelier in the interior

Black pendants are harmonious in interiors of styles such as gothic, glamour, baroque and achromatic minimalism.

In gothic, glamorous, baroque and art deco interiors, a black chandelier creates a dramatic, intimate atmosphere. This element is stunningly effective - it does not go unnoticed.

In modern minimalist interiors, the black chandelier has a different role: it contrasts with light surfaces, shading them. This emphasizes the whiteness, cleanliness, serenity of the interior.

Red and pink chandeliers in the interior

It is a passionate, sensual accent for glamorous, baroque and modern interiors. Such a chandelier can overshadow the rest of the filling of the room. This fact must be taken into account when choosing a color.

Red and pink chandeliers are also good for kitchens, as they are “delicious”, “dessert” colors. The chandelier will give its shade to the dishes, making them more appetizing.

In the bedroom, such an accent is not very desirable. For this room, it is better to prefer a black chandelier.

Pink pendants are relevant for girls' rooms. The young princess will love this lighting.

Purple chandelier in the interior

In principle, a purple chandelier has the same properties as a red and pink one. She is bright, noticeable, dominant, exciting, dramatic. Ideal for baroque, glamour, art deco and Arabic styles. Is that in the kitchen it is not as appetizing as the previous color.

Orange chandelier in the interior

Kitchens and are usually decorated with such suspensions. Orange is a cheerful and appetizing color that uplifts the mood and improves tone.

Blue, blue and turquoise chandeliers in the interior

This is one of the most popular solutions. The sky color overhead is natural. Chandeliers in blue and blue tones are suitable for different interiors: strict and soft, classic and industrial, feminine and brutal.

Beaded blue and turquoise chandeliers have become widespread. They are located in the kitchen area and above the dining table. However, blue does not contribute to appetite, but for those who follow the weight, this is quite a positive quality. By itself, the color of the chandelier makes this area very ornate.

Green chandelier in the interior

The green chandelier looks like a piece of jewelry with precious stones. Such a suspension will decorate the interior, give it a noble luxury. Green chandeliers are suitable for sophisticated, magnificent interiors, as well as for any other as a fresh accent.

Yellow chandelier in the interior

Chandeliers in yellow are not common. They are expressionless. After all, white and translucent chandeliers also seem yellow if warm light bulbs are used. In general, the yellow chandelier is quite neutral and does not stand out much from the general background.

What color chandelier should I choose?

You can prefer a chandelier made in the color that is secondary in the interior. For example, if the walls and upholstered furniture are beige, and the curtains, armchairs and pouffe are blue, you can hang a blue chandelier on the ceiling.

How to choose a chandelier color? Maintain secondary interior color

The chandelier can be one of the few color accents. For example, a monochrome interior in gray tones can be diluted with green and a chandelier.

Modern interiors are characterized by the introduction of single accents. For example, you can hang a red chandelier in a black and white room. At the same time, other red elements in this room may be absent.

How to choose a chandelier color for modern minimalism? Buy the brightest!

If a chandelier suits you perfectly in style, size, decor and performance, but its color is not in your interior, don't let that stop you. Color plays a much smaller role than design. In the end, you can always introduce a few small details into the interior in the color of the chandelier to make the picture complete.
