Updates 2018! Gameplay and graphics innovations, as well as utilities to improve the game.

The Witcher 3 is a great game that contains a subset of equally good mini-games. Gwent is the card game that Geralt plays throughout the story. In truth, it is not considered unusual here if a player prefers a party to Gwent instead of a bloody battle. Now you can do both! This mod replaces all battles with Gwent parties. You will earn the same experience and loot as in a real battle.

This mod seems to have left no stone unturned. Combat, obstacles, economics, alchemy, skills, weapons, armor and more have all been changed to make the game more challenging. It's in beta, so if you're interested, you can help test it out.

Hunter's Config is a great utility for adjusting game settings, even those that you don't have access to from the game menu. There's even a utility to revert to your previous configuration, and a button to install or uninstall SweetFX.

Torches are the unsung heroes of The Witcher 3, allowing Geralt to travel to the darkest corners of his world and are a great alternative to the Cat's elixir, which, although it allows you to see in the dark, but at the same time paints everything in gray tones. In the same fashion, the torch becomes a faithful companion of the hero. Geralt can now cast spells, ride a horse, climb rocks, and block enemy attacks while constantly holding a burning torch.

About 2 years have passed since the release of The Witcher 3, and during this time some modders have abandoned their creations, which is why new fan additions and official patches often conflict with old mods. Mod Script Merger is designed to correct this situation. The principle of its operation is simple: the mod creates merged versions of similar text files, thus extending the life of mods outdated months ago. And don't be intimidated by screenshots with confusing menus - figuring out this mod will be much easier than it seems.

If it seems to you that the world around is too calm, kind, here is a mod that will help you cheer up. He will increase the chances of meeting with a crowd of monsters, winged monsters or with simple robbers. The mod contains settings, so be sure you can choose the balance of random encounters with opponents that suits you.

Utilities

Debug Console Enabler

Download

If you are not going to be limited to installing only one mod, the divine powers of the debug console will come in handy. This utility gives you access to this console, allowing you to enter commands to change settings, spawn enemies, fix bugs, and more.

Nexus Mod Manager

Download

All Witcher mods are Nexus specific, and the Nexus Mod Manager is the best way to get rid of various bugs caused by incompatible mods. When installing new mods, be sure to pay attention to warnings about possible problems, which may include problems with loading saves. With NMM, even mods that are fundamentally incompatible with each other can work perfectly if they are installed in the correct order.

If you install several mods at once, then follow our instructions: take your time, do everything carefully and be sure to pray.

Mod Merger

Download

Did you know that the game has a mod limit? For us, this was news. If you exceed the allowable limit, then Mod Merger can come to the rescue. The whole process will take about 15 minutes, during which all compatible mods will be merged into one package. Too many mods you say? No, no, I install only one (albeit obscenely sized) mod.

But be careful. Merge only those mods that work without problems with each other, otherwise you will have to repeat everything over and over again.

Menu and travel

Mods that simplify travel and the interface, as well as shutting up Buttercup.

Download

By default, Geralt's world has dozens of checkpoints for fast travel, but sometimes you have to cross several kilometers on a roach to get to the nearest one. If you are tired of such a routine, then this mod will allow you to teleport to any control point - something similar was in Skyrim. The main thing is not to abuse this feature, because teleporting too often leads to problems with several quests.

Download

Of course, it's great that the map isn't filled with a bunch of icons like in some Ubisoft game, but sometimes you can regret it, especially if you can't remember where the healer is. This mod adds all possible icons to the map - from nearby merchants to quest points, information about which is taken from your quest log. If you think it's too much, you can always hide the icons you don't need.

Download

A chest with your items can be found at several points on the map, but the creators of this mod asked themselves: “Why not add more chests?”. After installing the mod, 8 new points with chests will appear in the game, and 2 standard ones will be moved to more convenient places. This is quite handy, especially if you have a general realism mod installed, which takes into account the weight of the coins that Geralt keeps with him.

Download

One of the best nuances of The Witcher is that every major contract needs to be thoroughly prepared at the beginning. We create oil from ghosts, stock up on moon dust, meditate and, of course, sharpen a silver sword.

In this fashion, meditation becomes a more meaningful process. During meditation, you spend experience points on leveling up skills, replenish stocks of alchemical items and oils, and also repair the necessary things. By default, you can't eat or drink during battle in this mod, so make sure you're fully prepared to face some noon.

Friendly Meditation

Download

If you think the Preparations Mod makes the game more difficult, then you should check out Friendly Meditation. This mod still replenishes potions while meditating, but you don't have to look at the boring menu. On the contrary, the entire interface temporarily disappears, and you can only watch clouds slowly floating across the sky, shining stars and the sun rising from behind the mountains.

Sometimes a witcher just needs to be alone with himself, right? And don't forget to install the Unification patch for this mod.

Download

The user interface in The Witcher 3 looks quite intricate, but disabling certain features will only make the game more difficult. This mod has several apps available from different downloads that fix interface issues. Hold the button down to meditate instead of visiting the menu, or hide the quest marker if you're not using the Witcher senses, plus some HUD controls that can be toggled on and off by pressing any button instead of bringing up the menu, and more.

Lamp on Player's Boat

Download

Is this mod important? No. But he adds a lantern to your boat, and it looks good. We have to admit, quite an atmospheric detail.

Download

Some of us (let's not point fingers) would be happy to put the overly talkative Buttercup in an industrial meat grinder. But, since nothing like this has yet been invented in the Kingdoms of the North, it remains to be content with this mod, which disables the video from Buttercup's diary.

Download

Oh my god, finally. Jumping aground.

Mods that change the combat system

Make fights harder, easier, or more importantly, more spectacular.

Critical Slow Motion Combat Mod

Download

If you thought that the combat in The Witcher 3 lacked cinematic quality, then you should definitely install this mod. It slows down time at the moments when Geralt deals critical hits, allowing you to see in detail how the hero gracefully blows his head off the shoulders of another bandit. Is this not enough? Then at your service is the More Blood mod from modder KNGR, which increases the amount of blood in the game.

Download

One of the best RPG elements in The Witcher 3 is undoubtedly the set of oils applied to the blade before combat. But even the biggest fans of the genre admit that over time, finding the right substance in Geralt's inventory and using it becomes too monotonous. And the Auto Apply Oils mod can fix this. As soon as an enemy appears in front of you, to kill which you need to use a specific type of oil, it will automatically be applied to the blade, and therefore you can immediately start the fight without any preparations.

AutoLoot

Download

Tired of digging into the inventory of defeated opponents after each battle? This mod will allow you to automatically collect everything that can be found in the area - both after a fight with monsters in the swamps, and in numerous lockers in the houses of Oxenfurt. But the main feature of the Auto Loot mod is that Geralt cannot automatically pick up valuable items that can cause problems. It is also convenient that the mod allows you to choose in advance which game items you need to pick up and which not to touch.

FCR3

Download

Looking for mods officially approved by the creators of the game? How about FCR3, developed by Chief Gameplay Designer at CD Projekt Red. This includes many improvements, nerfs and buffs to make the fantasy world more dangerous and balanced. If you're looking for a mod that makes subtle yet meaningful changes, then this is the one for you. There are no graphic additions here, so the screenshot shows the usual photo of Geralt. Simple and modest.

Enemies of Rivia

Download

This mod changes the combat system and the behavior of enemies so much that it should be placed in the section of mods that completely change the game itself. The enemies here are smarter, faster and don't hesitate to block. And therefore, during each fight, they behave quite unexpectedly - the repetition of the same techniques remains in the past. If you are a student of the Bear School and are looking for a worthy test, then you will get it.

E3DodgeSystem

Download

Longtime fans of the Witcher series remember the game's golden era. Then the wine was sweeter, the swords were sharper, and the ghouls were more stupid. They call this era E3 2014. There are several E3 2014 mods that bring The Witcher 3 closer to the demo version that is still alive in the memories of the players.

We certainly don't abuse nostalgia, but the E3-era dodge system was just great. Geralt had not yet mastered the acrobatic tricks, stood firmly on the ground with both feet and aimed his sword straight in front of him. This mod is suitable for anyone who wants to bring this system back into the game, getting rid of all the Cirque du Soleil-style show.

In addition, if you have a free second during the fight, Geralt will stretch his arms and swing his sword impressively. Looks very menacing!

Equipment and trade

Mods designed to lighten your burden, rebalance your loot, and give your gear a chic look.

Over 9000 – Weight limit mod

Download

Geralt already carries a lot of things in his bag, not counting the two heavy swords on his back, but if you are one of those who simply cannot get past the new sword from the witch hunter collection, then this mod is a must for you. So what will be the final weight limit? Yes, you guessed it. More than 9000. From now on, you won't have to worry about the fact that trophy weapons, which can be useful in very rare cases, take up too much space in your inventory. Just take it with you and do not bother your head with such trifles.

Download

The game could be called the Wild Hunt, but hunting creatures and monsters is not the best way to make a living. If you are tired of killing a lot of deer and getting only a little meat, then this mod increases the chance that animals will leave behind a supply of meat or some ingredients.

Download

It's a bit of a shame when you bring a lot of unwanted junk into the city to sell, and the local merchants are so poor that they can't afford to buy it all at once. This mod makes merchants more prosperous, so they are willing to pay more for each item. Unfortunately, the patch conflicts with version 1.31, but you have two options: install an unofficial patch or an unofficial version of the mod by another creator.

Download

In the game, we travel either to find work or to have fun - it's quite difficult to combine both, isn't it? If your Geralt doesn't mind playing Gwent from time to time, but doesn't want to run around looking for new cards, The Gwent Dealer mod will save him a lot of energy. This mod turns Quartermaster Baron into a real card collector. Now you can buy not only ordinary things from him, but almost any card.

Download

As with the Gwent Dealer, this mod transforms the humble tavern owner into one of the most prominent merchants in the game. Now the owner of Dandelion's tavern sells almost all potions, oils, bombs, runes, mutagens and arrows. Balance imbalance? Maybe. But it's damn convenient.

Download

Ugly equipment. It's sad, but it can happen to even the best witchers, no matter how hard they try to look stylish. If the new sword you've been tinkering with for hours has a sheath that isn't the prettiest and doesn't fit in with your color scheme, then just download Black Scabbards to fix the problem. We think that black is perfect for everything, including scabbards.

Download

On the one hand, this is a minor cosmetic change that does not affect gameplay in any way. On the other hand, this is perhaps the best of all created mods. If in a single player RPG you are most concerned about the appearance of the hero, then you should not pass by this mod. Geralt looks incredibly cool in his new robes. Moreover, there are keys to raise or lower the hood. But it already depends on your mood.

Download

There are quite a few gear changing mods out there, but our favorite is the Sezon Burz. Based on the book Season of Thunderstorms by Andrzej Sapkowski, this set of equipment fits perfectly into the Witcher universe and at the same time looks surprisingly fresh. What's more, the new items are tiered, so you can level up your hero and upgrade to a new set of gear.

Download

Depending on your playstyle, some elements of the daily routine of a witcher can become unbearable - especially after a couple of hundred hours in the game. If you are tired of spending money and time on repairing equipment, then the Indestructible Items mod will come in handy, thanks to which weapons no longer wear out. Extremely useful little thing.

Graphics and game camera changes

Photo mode, redesigned textures, interface changes and more.

Absolute Camera

Download

Are you unhappy with the way the camera behaves while you are running, fighting, riding or swimming? Absolute Camera not only changes the distance and angle of view, but also provides dozens of fully customizable options for the position of the camera during Geralt's various activities. In the video above, you can see how flexible the camera setup becomes.

Download

If you want to diversify the weather conditions in Novigrad and its surroundings, then this recently released mod will help you. It greatly improves the fog and rain animations, and adds a lot more snow to the Skellige Isles. At the same time, you can always disable certain innovations using the console commands indicated on the mod description page.

Download

Want to capture some memorable shots of Geralt in action? This mod will allow you to stop time, then move the camera in three dimensions to take great pictures. There is also a switch that allows you to make Geralt invisible (useful if you are taking pictures of the environment and nature), and an option that allows you to add fog, or a slight mist, to give the shots even more atmosphere.

HD Reworked

Download

If you're on the hunt for prettier, sharper, more detailed models and textures, please your eyes with this mod. Rocks, trees, roofs, floors - everything went over, improved resolution, brightness, and, apparently, this is just the beginning.

Download

Craving to see the game in a brighter and richer light? The mod removes the bluish tint to the image in the game, and adds a slight adjustment to the lighting in order to give the game a truly fabulous look.

Download

The kingdoms of the North, especially Velen and Novigrad, are quite dirty places full of clay and dust, and therefore it is almost impossible to take decent screenshots in these areas. But now you can wipe down your game camera like a professional photographer. The No Dirty Lenses mod removes drops of water and dirt from the screen, however, when diving or during rain, these drops reappear.

more blood

Download

The Witcher 3 is good. Even great. But what if the game was more like a Tarantino movie? The More Blood mod adds literally liters of blood to the game. Now Geralt constantly gets dirty during battles, his swords are always stained with fresh blood, and it naturally flows from demons in buckets. Are you ready for a bloody adventure?

Download

If you have a powerful graphics card, why not make the most of its capabilities by increasing the draw distance? The open world in The Witcher has an impressive scale, but it looks much more spectacular with drawing several kilometers ahead. The mod has many settings where you can set a specific draw distance. But be careful - the performance of the game may drop if you set all the settings to maximum and send it to Novigrad (but this depends on the capabilities of your PC).

Download

The mod falls into the same “will not work for everyone” category. More Shadows adds dynamic shadows to all lights in the game. Torches on the walls now cast shadows directly below them, and huge braziers in cities will be the source of all kinds of shadows on the cobbled streets. Guards walking around with torches will also get dynamic shadows. And if you have display problems, then there is an alternative version of the mod that removes some shadows.

Vampires Have No Shadows

Download

It's almost like More Shadows, but with some differences. With serious differences, to be honest. Vampire NPCs, as they should, no longer cast shadows even when walking directly under the sun! Creepy, but effective.

Mods that completely change the game

These mods make massive changes to the combat, alchemy and other systems of The Witcher 3.

Download

Are you missing a variety of weapons and armor? This mod makes other character's equipment available, such as Imlerich's great mace and a few others. Geralt can get it through merchants or make it himself. New blueprints in shops will allow you to get even more weapons, and don't forget about upgrading relics.

The Witcher 3 Enhanced Edition

Download

More recently, we wrote about this mod: this is a complete rethinking of the combat system of The Witcher. The main innovation is the removal of auto-aim. Now Geralt no longer jumps from one enemy to another like a pinball, but only hits where you point him. This means that you can prepare a strike and quickly go behind the enemy's back or break through his shield.

It's a big change, but it's far from the only one in TW3EE. It also adds new animations, new ways to parry, and new ways to set up attacks from a distance. Each attack can also affect your hero - there is a chance that Geralt will get out of the next brawl with a broken arm or leg. These effects are directly reflected in the leveling, alchemy system and equipment of the hero.

If you've been through New Game+ a few times and seen everything The Witcher 3 has to offer, then this improved version is the perfect excuse to re-install the game. It is advised to put the mod on a "clean" version of the game, after which you can safely install additional modifications.

Download

Ghost Mode is no less ambitious than the Enhanced Edition, but the changes are more subtle. He does not abandon the basics of the original, but only polishes all the little things that required editing. For example, expensive plates can no longer be found on the shelves of the poor, all ingredients have a weight (but you need fewer ingredients for alchemy), and simple equipment has become more powerful and useful. Typos in item descriptions have also been fixed, enemies have received new armor bonuses and stamina limits, etc.

If you think that The Witcher 3 needs a complete overhaul of all systems, then the Enhanced Edition is waiting for you. If you think that the game just needs to be polished and balanced (which modders have been doing for two years), then feel free to install Ghost Mode.

And, of course, put the mod on the "clean" version of the game, and only after that add the rest of the mods to taste.

With this mod, you will always be guaranteed to gain experience in all quests in The Witcher 3 version 1.21, even optional and side or, as they say, "gray" quests. You will always get 100% experience for quests.

There are 4 mod options:
Option #1 - "Always Full Exp" - you will always get 100% experience for any quests.
Option #2 - "Always Difficulty Exp" - the difficulty level of the game will be taken into account (100% experience will be given on the difficulty of the game easy / normal, 90% experience on the hard difficulty, 80% experience on the highest level of the game Deathmarch).
Option #3 - "Always Mixed Exp" - 100% experience will be given for main quests, and 50% experience will be given for side "grey" quests.
Option #4 - "Always DLC Exp" - this option uses a slightly modified experience system for all DLC quests - this option will give more experience for quests above your level and less experience for quests below your level (max: 150% experience, min: 50% experience)

Example: level 25, non-DLC quests
- If you complete the quest with level 30 on the game difficulty "normal", you will get 500 experience (100%)
- If you complete the quest with level 30 on the difficulty of the game "Deathmarch", you will receive 400 experience (80%)
- If you complete the quest with level 31 on the difficulty of the game "normal", you get 25 experience (5%)
- If you complete the quest with level 31 on the difficulty of the game "Deathmarch", you get 25 experience (5%)
- If you complete the quest with level 30 on the difficulty of the game "normal", after completing the main story, you will receive 250 experience (50%)
- If you complete the quest with level 30 on the game difficulty "Deathmarch", after completing the main story, you will receive 250 experience (50%)
- If you complete the quest with level 31 on the difficulty of the game "normal", after completing the main story, you will receive 250 experience (50%)
- If you complete the quest with level 31 on the difficulty of the game "Deathmarch", after completing the main story, you will receive 250 experience (50%)
- If you complete the quest with the "Always Full Exp" mod installed, you will get 500 experience (100%)
