Interroom doors in the interior - how to choose the type and color of doors for a particular interior. Modern stylish interior doors in the interior design of apartments (photo)

Doors are an integral part of any house or apartment. This is the “face” of every room and space. They play a big role both in the division of apartments into zones and in interior design, so you should be very careful in choosing them. Shops and salons offer a large number of models, among which it can be difficult to find the ideal.

To facilitate this process, carefully study all the characteristics and features of door products, consider the details of your interior and the rules for choosing canvases. Only after carefully reading the features and types of doors, you can choose the most suitable models for your home.

Peculiarities

Interior doors do not match the functions and characteristics of the entrance. In the interior of an apartment or a private house, they play a special role. The primary feature of interior models is the division of the space of the apartment. Since each room has its own purpose, it is advisable to delimit one territory from another. The door makes it as convenient and affordable as possible. Based on this function, you need to choose a mechanism that makes access to the room comfortable.

Interior products are not as strong and massive as front doors. They periodically need repair and restoration. Therefore, it is important to pay attention to the material from which the structure is made. It should not be too fragile, but at the same time, in the event of a breakdown, it should be recoverable.

Interior doors can play not only a basic role in the interior, but also an accent one. Often the door structure is a striking style detail, so it must be designed accordingly without breaking away from the concept.

Since the interior door is that part of the interior with which a person has regular tactile contact, it is worth considering the environmental friendliness of the material. This is especially true for those who have children or people prone to allergies in the house.

A big plus is that stores provide a choice of products from both synthetic and environmentally friendly raw materials.

Like many pieces of furniture, doors can have different prices. In most cases, the price is proportional to the quality and durability. There are such models, the cost of which is based on the popularity of the brand and the complexity of the design. So that the purchase of an interior product does not cause large financial costs, it is more expedient to choose doors that combine basic qualities: strength, resistance to damage, and ease of repair.

Particular attention should be paid to the microclimate of the apartment or room into which the door is selected. Not all materials are resistant to high humidity and temperature. In order for the model to last longer, you should be more careful about the choice of material or cover the product with a special protective compound that extends its service life.

An important point is the features of caring for her. Sometimes, to maintain the door device in perfect condition, it is required to spend additional financial resources or time. Choose a door in such a way as to calculate in advance the possibility of regular maintenance of the product.

Popular Models

There is a huge variety of models of interior doors. They are classified into types, among which the most popular are the following:

  • Classic swing model with hinges. It opens by sliding the door leaf in or out. This mechanism is quite convenient, it is easily repaired and can last for many years. Periodically, fastenings of such structures must be lubricated so that there is no creaking when opening.
  • sliding door located in special grooves located at the top of the doorway. The opening mechanism is a blade shift to the side. The advantage of such models is significant space savings when opening compared to swing doors. Products are not so easy to repair, but in the event of a breakdown, some parts can be restored.
  • Folding door - "accordion" used in rooms where sound insulation does not play a primary role. Such a door is similar to a screen, it is not very strong, but it looks very original and elegant. The body of the product, when opened, folds in half or three times, which also saves some space.

  • Radius products open by shifting along the axis, which is located in the central part of the door. Such structures are used mainly in private houses, because sometimes they require additional space.
  • Large apartments often have high double doors. They can have a sliding, swing or folding mechanism. Often such products are disguised so that it is not immediately possible to notice the door itself.
  • When a bedroom is divided into zones, a special wardrobe door. In most cases, it is a sliding structure and is also disguised in the interior.

Choosing a material

One of the most expensive and durable materials for the manufacture of doors is solid wood. They are based on trees such as oak, ash, beech, larch, alder. These models are often supplied with complex carvings and relief, which significantly affects their cost. The advantages of wooden doors are their strength, good appearance, environmental friendliness, durability.

But they will serve for a really long time only with a suitable microclimate, because high humidity shortens the life of a wooden product.

Models are less expensive chipboard with veneer. Similar products are also made of natural material and have a huge range of colors and textures. Despite the fact that these doors are not solid, they may not be inferior to the aforementioned ones in terms of representativeness and solidity.

Structures in violation of the temperature regime and humidity can delaminate and become unusable, therefore, such doors can only be placed in dry rooms with moderate temperatures.

The combination of MDF and chipboard underlies laminated doors. The laminate is also complemented by a special film, which provides a beautiful appearance of the product. In addition to the appearance, the coating is responsible for protecting the product from moisture. The quality of the product depends entirely on the thickness of the panel and on the characteristics of the film coating.

For those whose apartments have high humidity, perfect plastic interior doors. The material allows you not to be afraid for the contact of the product with water or high temperatures. Plastic products are highly durable, some of them also provide sound and heat insulation. .

Despite the fact that the material of the products is artificial, they create textures that perfectly imitate the look of natural wood and look no less presentable.

Sophisticated users often choose doors from glass. Despite the fact that the main disadvantage of the design is fragility, such a door looks very elegant and beautiful in many interior styles. Glass can be both transparent and frosted, often drawings and ornaments are created on it to give the door additional originality.

Often two textures are combined in a door product. Wood very often includes glass inserts. They are made of colored or transparent glass.

In the bedroom, you can often see models with a mirror. It is located on the top of the body or may occupy the entire surface of the door.

Design and Style Options

One of the important points in choosing an interior door is its compatibility with the concept of the style of the room. Each direction is characterized by a number of specific features, according to which you should choose a door device.

  • Classic interior doors are popular for styles baroque, rococo, art deco. These directions correspond to massive swing structures made of natural wood. They have a paneled structure and are often equipped with a patina that imitates bronze and gilding.

The classic adheres to natural colors - white or brown shades of wood, restrained pastels or rich dark woods.

  • Provence style suggests a more restrained design, light colors, a small number of floral patterns and a graceful rectangular relief. The loft is characterized by doors of light, gray or brown shades, created in the likeness of hastily knocked together boards and having careless features.

Sometimes the surface of the door imitates old textures that have been affected by time. You can find models with deliberately peeling paints or a sanded surface.

  • American style interior products contains conservative features, restraint and conciseness. Mostly there are monophonic models of natural shades. Very often, the upper compartment of the door is equipped with frosted glass, a rectangular relief is widespread.

  • High tech- an abundance of glossy and matte textures in discreet shades. The doors look very restrained. They are usually made of plain plastic, some are made with horizontal stripes, which perfectly matches the geometric concept of the style. A combination of textures can rarely be seen, if present, it does not take on an accent role.

  • Interior doors in eco style- This is a combination of wooden texture and frosted glass. Sometimes glass can take up most of the door, and the wooden parts are arranged in a zigzag pattern. For such models, muted wood colors are used.

  • Products shabby chic style are painted wood of various light colors. Whatever the main shade, the presence of a pattern on the surface of the door is important. It can be flowers or smooth patterns made in pink colors.

An original solution would be to add textile details to the surface of the door.

  • Japanese doors are a sliding mechanism made of wood and plastic. Light plastic forms square shapes over the entire surface of the product, which transmit light. Sometimes it is supplied with drawings in the form of Japanese symbols.

Color solutions

Regardless of the chosen style, you can find various color schemes in the design of the doorway. Popular light wood tones include ivory, white ash, milk oak. It is rare to find pure white surfaces, mostly dominated by beige shades.

The classic version of wood design is brown tones. Pine, Milan walnut, classic oak, chocolate shade and cappuccino are the most common browns.

Some products have a gold or red tint. Such colors include maple, cherry, alder, mahogany. They look very unusual and noble and make the door structures solid and catchy.

Often when decorating doors, a game of contrasts is used. Shades of wenge wood - deep black and cream are often combined with each other, creating a beautiful ensemble.

Plastic doors can have bright colored surfaces - blue, pink, green, red. Sometimes items of different colors are combined in products. It can be a reception of contrast or a combination of close tones.

Photo printing is often used on plastic products to create exclusive colorful models. Such doors are very popular for installation in children's rooms.

How to combine?

When choosing a door, you can be guided by various combinations.

With floor

To prevent the door from looking like a gaudy spot, it is important to think about its combination with the color of the floor. In most cases, either the door leaf itself or the racks are in harmony with the floor. If racks are combined with the floor, then the door is recommended to be decorated in a contrasting shade.

With plinth

Many equip rooms with skirting boards. It is best to choose them in the same style with door panels. This option will be especially relevant if the door is made of wood. In case the door partition is made of plastic using bright colors, you can choose a neutral shade for the skirting boards, which will not differ much from the floor.

with walls

The most harmonious option is one in which the door is several tones darker than the walls. It is better to install a light design if the walls in the room are painted in a bright or pastel shade. If the door itself plays an accent role in the interior, then it is more expedient to make a monochromatic muted color of the walls without drawings and ornaments.

How to mask an opening in the interior?

Door structures are not always on display. Many have a desire to hide the door so that it cannot be immediately noticed among other interior details. There are several tricks on how to make the door in the room invisible:

  • If you have plain walls, then you can choose a smooth door panel without relief and paint it in the same shade. The doorway should also not be decorated with racks and thresholds. Some also mask the handle so that it cannot be seen from inside the room.
  • If the walls are ornamented, it is sometimes even easier to disguise the door structure by using dark pattern lines at the joints. Sometimes the walls are finished with wooden vertical panels. In this case, the lines of the doorway may be completely invisible.
  • A more original way of disguising is to mount shelves on the side of the door that is in the room. Books, trinkets and other accessories can be placed on the shelves. The main thing is to create a filled space that will hide the presence of a door. To fix the shelves, it is important that the surface of the door leaf is perfectly flat.

For any professional designer, doors are an important part of the interior design concept. They can visually increase the height of the premises, create the right atmosphere, emphasize the decorative technique and at the same time remain somewhat invisible.

With photographs from the portfolio of Fundament Group of Companies (Moscow), we will illustrate how various interior doors affect the appearance of the interior: white, gray, black, sliding and hinged. Our designers make each project unique, with a twist, beautiful and at the same time practical for its owners.

Sliding white doors in the interior

Glass white doors, selected by a professional designer, will help you make the interior more original. Translucent partitions increase the illumination of the premises and visually increase their volume.

Sliding doors will help to make the interior of an apartment or house more ergonomic. You spend less time and effort to open or close it, it looks more aesthetically pleasing in any condition, and also saves a couple of square meters of space, which, in terms of all the doors in the apartment, can reach up to 10-20 square meters. And this, you see, is a lot. Also, partitions of this type are often used in the design of dressing rooms, storage areas, cabinets of various formats, including built-in ones.

In this apartment renovation project, our designers combine several types of doors for different areas, they use moldings, stucco moldings and marbled porcelain tiles in the decoration. Please note that the design of the ceiling was designed specifically for the unusual shape of the corridor, which is explained by the convenient zoning of public and private areas in the apartment.

Sliding doors made in the workshop to order according to the designer's project are especially popular in the interior of the kitchen, loggia, hallway and bathroom, in the corridor - where the lack of light and space can be especially acute. If you want to have a beautiful and fashionable white interior, you cannot do without the right interior doors.

Large sliding doors from floor to ceiling

If we look at the same interior in a modern style with Scandinavian elements from the side of the living room, we immediately notice that the large glass partitions here are one of the most important motifs in the design. The rectangular decorative layout on the door leaves is in harmony with the cubic shapes of the kitchen set.

When joining a loggia in an apartment (or if there is a winter garden in a country house), sliding doors are almost indispensable. Typically, for such an interior, our customers choose large-format glass doors - from floor to ceiling and from wall to wall, in order to let as much sunlight into the room as possible.

And the style of the interior can be favorably emphasized with the help of decorative layouts on the door leaf.

Sliding doors with stained glass windows in the living room are always a good idea when it comes to classic styles. Especially often such doors are used in French interiors, where there are often two living rooms at once, a separate dining room, and a kitchen.

Such stained glass doors can lead to the corridor and even bedrooms. Modern versions of sliding doors have the same lock systems as conventional ones, therefore they can provide complete privacy. Matting, glass tinting, as well as high-quality sound insulation of branded models make it possible to use them in the bedroom and bathroom.

Stained glass doors are another offer from our interior designers. Stained-glass windows are always made of glass and can be tinted, ornamented, colored fresco or panel, even inlaid with rhinestones!

Interior doors with stained-glass windows are good in the kitchen, in the bedroom and in the children's room - where you want to create an atmosphere of magic and comfort of your home. Vine-themed stained-glass windows are often used in wine cellars, Victorian murals are often used on the stairs, with a tropical or beach atmosphere in the pool.

In small apartments and rooms, white doors are almost always the right decision. But they do not fit into all styles as well as in neoclassical. Foundation Group has extensive experience in working with different styles (from an idea to implementation, renovation, furnishing and even decor), so we can safely recommend neoclassicism for decorating a family, bright and elegant apartment.

White and beige, ash, gray and other light interior doors are usually liked by those who love modern design styles. They are also used in classic and neoclassic, while country, Provence, chalet, as well as loft and Japanese styles are characterized by dark door leafs. At the same time, it is not necessary to order an exclusive design. Properly selected doors are already a victory.

In complex styles such as neoclassical, classic, baroque and others, interior doors are very important. It is they who will emphasize the luxury of the decoration of your house or apartment, and if you choose the wrong one, they will give out a novice in the designer. Specialists from the Foundation Group of Companies (Moscow) create interiors that are calculated to the smallest detail, and the combinations of doors and wall decoration are always flawless.

White door in the interior of a gray bedroom

Thinking about the design of the bedroom, many of us first of all think about the bed, dressing room, spacious chests of drawers, beautiful boudoir area, completely forgetting about interior doors. Of course, in general, such an approach is justified, but not at all for an interior designer.

And for those who want to have a more concise interior, our designers advise a modern style - simpler, but because of its practicality, it is perfect for a family with small children.

Dark brown wenge doors

You can choose sliding interior doors for your interior with the help of an interior designer. He will advise not only the format and style, but also a specific shade, adjust the dimensions and make the whole interior look like a single harmonious whole.

Sliding doors are also very popular in the living room, they usually lead to the corridor or to the kitchen and have a width of 120 to 180 cm. Such doors can have from 2 to 4 modules, in the latter version, two side doors turn out to be static, that is, they do not move.

Dark brown interior doors can often be found in Art Nouveau and Mediterranean style interiors, country, chalets and some others. As a rule, they are paired with wooden furniture of the same tone.

Wooden interior doors in natural tones are one of the most beautiful for home, cozy and family interiors. Look at our apartment renovation project in the photo above. You will see that the combination of dark cocoa wood and carrot shade in the interior of the hallway immediately positions this house as a particularly hospitable place.

Mirrors, black lacquer and wenge in an art deco hallway interior

In the photo: Interior design of a hallway with dark doors

The color of wenge became popular a few years ago, but with the advent of better, innovative technologies, the imitation of this valuable wood species has reached a new level. Now wenge is not just a standard replacement for brown wood, but a unique texture, interesting relief and a delicate dark brown shade with lilac or purple reflections.

Sliding glass partitions save space and visually enlarge the room. But their functions do not end there. Such a fashionable design technique as combining a kitchen and a living room, unfortunately, is not without flaws. In the event that you are concerned about kitchen smells, but there is no desire to build a solid wall between the kitchen and the living room, transparent sliding partitions will come to the rescue.

Glass "wall" with dark curtains in the bedroom bathroom

In the photo: Bathroom design in the bedroom

In modern interiors, it happens that there are no doors at all between rooms. Then pay attention to arches of different formats, decorative curtains and other unusual zoning options. In Fundament Group we offer not only traditional solutions, but also the most original ones, for example, glass walls. And an opaque thick curtain of dark fabric will help to hide in a private room of the bathroom.

In this bathroom design project, we chose an oak door to contrast with the unusual designer bathroom tiles. Please note that other furniture in the room is made in the same shade as the door.

Interestingly, the doors can also be invisible. If you use branded models that have wall panels in the collection (to match the doors), you can create an unusual effect.

Dark doors in the interior

In addition to white and light doors, there are also dark doors that undoubtedly deserve our attention. They can be black, with imitation of rosewood, wenge, zebrano and other types of wood.

Many of them will be made in new fashionable styles, others in classic ones, but as a rule, such doors are most often used in modern interiors. The only exceptions are dark brown doors, which perfectly complement the atmosphere of country-style rooms, chalets, art nouveau (modern) and others.

Major renovation of the apartment involves the complete reconstruction of old coatings, doors and windows. To create a modern interior, a design project is needed. Look at the photo of the doors in the interior - a huge selection of different designs and varieties in style and materials of manufacture.

Types of door structures

In the design of modern studio apartments, doors are used for zoning rooms. In small apartments, they are designed to preserve individual space. A serious and responsible approach to their choice will emphasize the style of your home you have conceived.

General advice - think over the design for the entire housing as a whole, and not for individual rooms. Accordingly, the doors in the interior of the apartment should be made of the same material and in the same style.

Single-leaf swing

Swing doors - a very popular design, used for centuries, is actively exploited in our time. They are made of natural wood, plastic, PVC, fiberboard, sometimes with a glass insert. They are installed, providing a place for the full opening of the doorway. They are suitable for the interior in the style of classic, techno, Provence and country.

Double swing

Luxurious Rococo, Baroque and Empire styles correspond to double-leaf interior doors. For full disclosure, they take up quite a lot of space - up to 2 m2, which is very inconvenient in a small apartment.

For houses with high ceilings and a large area, they give nobility and emphasize the richness of the interior.

Massive canvases are decorated with luxurious carvings and bright fittings. The total width of the doorway can reach 3 meters.

pendulum design

Pendulum doors look good in offices and shops. They open outward and inward, which is very convenient with a large flow of people. Panel boards with various finishes are suitable for them.

Sliding compartment doors

One of the types of interior doors in the interior of the apartment is sliding compartment doors. They do not require additional space to open. They move along special rails installed on the ceiling and in the floor of the room, they consist of one or more wings, replacing part of the wall.

Used to decorate rooms in Japanese and minimalist styles. The disadvantage of such a device is that on the wall along which they open, there should not be anything superfluous that could interfere with their movement.

Folding structures

The minimum space for full opening is occupied by folding doors, which consist of several strips movably connected to each other. They are light, thin and sound-permeable, which is not always convenient in a small apartment.

Suitable for safari-style rooms, but for the parents' bedroom or bathroom, it is better to use blank door leaves.

Roto doors

They are also called mini-vein or revolving doors. To open them, you need to pull the handle towards you, and then move it to the side. In this case, part of the door is inside the room, and part - outside. Such an unusual model can be the highlight of your home.

Glass door

The glass door allows daylight to pass through well, so it is better to use it for additional illumination of dark rooms, for example, the door from the kitchen to a dark corridor. Tempered glass insert, which breaks into small pieces when broken, virtually eliminates cut injuries.

In a house with small children, the most suitable option is panel doors with glass elements.

Glass happens:

  • transparent;
  • corrugated;
  • matte;
  • matte with a transparent pattern;
  • stained glass from multi-colored pieces.

Glass interior doors visually expand the space and help create lightness and airiness in the interior.

invisible door

Finishing the invisible door continues the pattern of the walls, from which it is almost invisible.

Types of door panels

Door leafs according to their device are divided into four main types:

  • shield;
  • paneled;
  • glass;
  • metal-plastic.

Panel boards are used for hinged and sliding doors. They are made of a wooden frame sheathed with fiberboard or plywood. Sometimes they are decorated with additional elements in the form of glass inserts, imitation bindings, etc., which makes them more expensive.

Paneled doors are the most popular model. They consist of a lattice base and inserts made of the same wood, plywood or glass. They are made from solid hornbeam, beech and oak. Coniferous wood is the cheapest and lower quality. The varied decor of these canvases gives them an exquisite aesthetic beauty.

The highest quality models are not glued, but assembled using special spikes and recesses.

Glass doors are described above, it is worth adding that they fit best into high-tech, techno and minimalism styles.

Metal-plastic structures are made of aluminum with a plastic coating. They are more suitable for installation at the exit to a loggia or balcony, as well as for office and warehouse premises.

Color solution

Important in creating the design of an apartment of a certain style is the color of the doors. The main thing is that they harmoniously fit into the intended interior. The color scheme is selected by:

  • furniture color;
  • wall painting;
  • to match the floor.

light colored doors

Light doors are inherent in interiors in the style of Provence, classic and art deco. The decor uses elements of floral decorations and stained glass. They are made from natural wood and light veneer.

White doors fit perfectly into almost any interior. If they are decorated with fittings and chic carvings, they will become part of the country and classic design. They give the room additional light, grace and lightness.

Dark colored doors

Dark doors accentuate strict high-tech and techno interiors. Do not use them in small apartments. In spacious rooms, they look massive and stylish.

Chrome-plated and glass inserts further ennoble and visually lighten them. The techno style is characterized by straight canvases without any decorations and with simple fittings.

oak doors

Oak doors have two main varieties - natural wood and bleached oak. Products made of bleached oak are suitable for interiors in classic and modern style, as well as for Provence and high-tech styles. Shades of this color can be chosen according to your preference and taste:

  • Ivory;
  • cream;
  • champagne.

Even massive doors in light colors look light and elegant. Oak doors are wear-resistant, environmentally friendly, have a noble and aesthetic appearance. Oak shades allow it to be used in almost all styles.

Moraine wood door panels are black with a purple hue and are used by designers to create the most luxurious interiors. Golden or brown oak boards will add coziness and warmth to the room. They are quite expensive, so to save money, you can use canvases from cheaper wood, pasted over with oak veneer of the desired shade.

The most budget option is to use PVC film instead of veneer, which perfectly conveys the color and texture of oak, but is damaged over time and practically cannot be restored.

All wooden doors are exposed to moisture and cold, which must be taken into account when installing them in an apartment.

How to choose interior doors?

Acquisition of interior doors is a responsible and rather difficult task. In order for the interiors of your apartment to match the developed design, you need to make an effort. First of all, take accurate measurements of the doorways. The store should pay attention to:

  • the quality of the material from which the door leafs are made;
  • condition and operation of the installed fittings (locks, hinges);
  • check for chips and overlaps at the joints of the parts;
  • whether the door frame and platbands are included in the kit;
  • the quality of the paintwork;
  • Is the door design right for you?

Properly selected doors will serve for a long time and complement the sophistication of the interiors of your apartment.

Photo of doors in the interior

During repairs or during the construction of a private house, when the question arises of purchasing interior doors, many are guided by price. While trying to find relatively cheap doors for yourself, you should not forget that not only the price should be the determining factor.

In order not to make a mistake and make the right purchase, you should know some of the features of interior doors, first of all, their differences in appearance.

Types of interior doors

The difference between one interior door and another is determined by many characteristics: material of manufacture, weight, strength, ability to isolate noise. A natural question arises, which interior doors to choose?

They can be panel, tsargovy, paneled, molded and made of glass.

Panel doors

The basis of this type is a frame frame, which is sheathed with MDF sheets on both sides. The resulting voids are filled with cardboard, and the resulting design resembles a honeycomb. Outside, the sheets are covered with a film, veneer or laminate. Shield doors are either deaf or have plastic (glass) inserts.

Advantages:

  • low cost;
  • beautiful appearance;
  • light weight (if the filler is cardboard);
  • high functionality.

Disadvantages: requires the use of polishing agents.

Tsargovye doors

Such doors are made from two vertical bars, across which parallel identical boards are attached (they are called tsargs). These boards themselves are combined with glass and other materials, giving the product a special style.

Advantages:

  • beautiful appearance;
  • high wear resistance;
  • the possibility of long-term operation.

Disadvantages:

  • big weight;
  • installation complexity (due to weight).

Paneled doors

The basis of these doors is also made of a frame made of a board fastened with crossbars and longitudinal bars, and panels are placed between them - small planks of coniferous wood, MDF, glass inserts are possible.

The design decision of this or that door depends on what panels are used. From the photo of interior doors of this type, it is almost impossible to determine whether there is a wood insert in the design. It seems that in front of your eyes there is a canvas made of a solid array, subjected to deep milling, hence the impressive appearance of such doors.

  • resistance to curvature;
  • stylish look.

Disadvantages:

Options for opening interior doors

The network has a huge number of catalogs of interior doors, where various models are presented. One of the distinguishing features of doors is the way they open. They can swing open or spread apart, they can be folded like a book or swing like a pendulum. Each type is determined by its mounting system, soundproofing ability, etc.

  • fragility of the structure;
  • bad soundproofing.

  • the need for a large space to open.

The nuances of installing an interior door

Today, a high-quality door leaf can often be purchased along with a box, which will simplify the process of installing an interior door. In addition, both in the stores themselves and in the service market, it is possible to order installation by specialists.

But what to do if you decide to install yourself? Let's try to analyze this issue using the example of a simple swing door without a box.

The first thing to do is to remove the purchased product from the package and make sure it is intact. Then take measurements along the length, width and thickness of the canvas itself, determine the type of loops.

The dimensions of the doors are different, and the size of the selected box depends on them. In this case, it is necessary to remember about the gaps and not make a mistake, so that you do not have to subsequently expand the opening in the wall.

At the next step, we fasten the hinges on the door, while each of them should look inside the room, and the distance from the top and bottom of the canvas should be at least 20-25 cm. The hinge must protrude 2 mm beyond the edge of the door. After all the settings, we circle both loops with a pencil and carefully select the circled part of the canvas with a chisel. We put loops in the prepared grooves, drill small holes with a drill and fasten them onto self-tapping screws.

The first method requires a circular saw with a set angle. In its absence, it is better to turn to the second method. Box details: two posts and a lintel (horizontal beam in the upper part) are cut at a right angle with a hacksaw, and the lintel can be placed on top of the uprights or between them. Having attached a door to the box and stepped back 2.5 mm, we make a mark for the threshold, not forgetting about the gaps on the sides.

At the same stage, we mark the places for the hinges and the lock, in order to then select them with a chisel. We twist the box with self-tapping screws, having previously drilled holes with a drill, fasten the pad for the lock and the hinge (it is assumed that the hinges used are composite, with two parts - for the canvas and for the box).

Now we mount the box, leveling its vertical position with a level. We put spacers for fixing. We hang the door to make sure that it opens without problems. If necessary, we equalize the position of the box with spacers.

We make the final fixation with the help of self-tapping screws through the box or with the help of special suspensions (plates) screwed from its end. At the final step, the space between the box and the opening in the wall is filled with mounting foam. It is recommended to pre-moisten it with water for better adhesion of the foam. After the foam has dried, the door can be hung.

Speaking of stained glass doors, we always remember medieval architecture, which has survived to this day even in a more luxurious format than it was originally intended. By the way, archaeologists found the oldest stained-glass windows in the world in Egypt, they are over 6000 years old. In contemporary design, stained glass doors are commonly used in English, Victorian, Classical (sometimes with a strong nod to Ancient Greece and Antiquity), and Mediterranean styles.

Doors with stained glass windows are a very good option for the front entrance to the house. Imagine that the sun's rays will penetrate through the colored glass and paint the floor and walls of the hall with multi-colored paints.

In the Art Deco style, doors are very different, but almost always - with geometric ornaments and inserts in gold or silver. Sometimes such a door is even decorated with mirrors, but usually they are partially glass on a wooden frame with a beautiful trim. Often the door is complemented by golden handles, and the door itself is light (white or beige), but you can also find no less luxurious black or chocolate options.

In the photo above, you can see a decorative pseudo-transom above the door with decorative mirrors and gold inlays.
